Breakfast was fine - not much else in the immediate area so recommend to have the hotel breakfast. Parking on site. Close proximity to internet centre and laundromat. Our room, a standard double, was very basic and dated, nothing like the website appears. The kitchenette advertised came with absolutely nothing to make it usable - no kettle, cups/plates, cutlery, cooking pans. Room maintenance was very sloppy - we had to ask for something every day - no toilet paper when we arrived, towels taken but not replaced every day. The reception staff however were very friendly and helpful and speak good English.
The hotel staff was really very friendly and very flexible to help us, I was there with a van to move my son to Valence and using the parking lot eg. was not that easy...
the underground parking was greatly appreciated the kitchenette area had no equipment thus unusable and the sink had a musty smell - not a problem overall.
Good location, close to center and highway exits. Very simple no-bullshit access to internet and parking. Room had a fridge and a stove, very useful if you plan to stay for a few days. Tight parking and budget-hotel shower, but other than that, no serious issues.
Nice room, secure parking, friendly and very helpful staff. The hotel is clean, modern and has good facilities. Centrally located it was ideal for exploring the town and there are a good selection of restaurants nearby. The room was very hot and the fan provided did little to reduce the temperature. It was difficult to sleep. The room was very nice despite the heat.
price parking lot is rediculous, too narrow making it very dangerous, lighting issues, parking spaces not well indicated (i.e. poor signage)
Decent room for the price. Just a stop over night on the road so it fit the need. Long way off motorway to this location.
The hotel is located very conveniently, the secured garage is a great advantage, the staff was very friendly
Good accomodation, clean, staff helpful, good location in valence.
Friendly personal, Excellent bed & pillows, Free WiFi, Parking closed at inner yard. Easy access to parking direct from the floors
Moder in the good sense of the word.
Maison Pic is on a rather drab street in Valence. Our room was large, bathroom was lovely. Prices were more than a grand hotel in London I would put it in the same class as Hotel de Ville group in the UK except the prices were obscene. 20euros for a bottle of still water from the mini bar. I found the restaurant overloaded with staff flitting here and there. Food was good but for a plate of lamb at 90euros it should have been amazing and it wasn't.I would not rate this hotel above average but with a totally exaggerated idea of its own importance. It is not in the same league as Le Manoir which serves much better food has more beautiful rooms and is considerably cheaper. Too many staff in the dining room. Food in my opinion was over salted. They did sya Anna Sophie was not on duty so perhap that is the reason. We found dining there not an experience we would care to repeat, it is all too articial and they seem wrapped up in their own importance.
A most beautiful, stylish and comfortable hotel. Suberb service and wonderful food. One of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in.
The dinner is excellent and the 3 stars worth. Staff is very kind and immaculate. Room is excellent. no
Room stank of smoke
restaurant prices far too high. 13.90 eur for a curry consisting of 4 small pieces of chicken, a tablespoon of curry sauce and a lump of rice
It's interior is rather old and in need of refurbishment. During breakfast the staff was already removing the breakfast and we had to ask several times to bring us some coffee and bread.
The room was excellent: large enough and extremely clean. The safe had a problem and could not be used.
The rooms were very big and the bathroom were very nice. The parking was save and oposite the hotel was a petrol station. The service was good, too. It was a bit strange that fthe toilett and the bathroom were in two room. Some hairs of the guest before in the bathroom and some stains of glases on the badside table.
Staff at reception very helpfull, rooms comfortable, The menu in the dining room could have been a bit more interesting, not a lot to choose from. The bar should have some one there all the time, really not very good. The person that did serve was very unfriendly, not a good person to be dealing with the public,
Good service and big room Smoking smell for a non-smoking room. Very disturbing
breakfast buffet + free wifi diner
good location close to motorway
convienient stop off the motorway..good price..would use it again
Good clean room with free wifi. Restaurant closed on a Saturday night.
Just what we needed after a long drive- comfortable room, excellent restaurant and very friendly staff. We were so pleased we stayed at the hotel on our homeward trip. No
We stayed at this hotel a few years back and did not think very highly of it then it had not improved , the lighting was awful the room very cramped see above
i liked the staff, they were very friendly and helptul.
Used the hotel as an overnight stop en-route to uk from Spain. Hotel was easy to find. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, there was a good buffet style breakfast. Free wifi and secure parking were added bonuses.
A basic hotel, staff always friendly and efficient. Bit close to the railway, but I knew that from previous visit and accept that.
Good location and easy access from motorway. Comfortable simple accommodation with helpful staff and good restaurant.
good and safety parking
We were very disturbed by the noise from the outside people on the patio either having a drink or a smoke. It was not that they were rowdy but their voices echoed badly..
Staff, tv was not working, wc sepparate of bathroom
nice restaurant and good brakfast. free parking inside the hotel. position very closed to the motorway. nice view from the room.
The standard of the bathrooms, they need some refurbishment.
We appreciate dogs allowed
The staff were very freindly and helpfull and the food was good, as the menu was only in French the reception printed it in English for us.Very good None
Excellent mood lighting in the room and food in the restaurant was 1st Class.
The location was good, room was good (bit small, but clean). Hallways leave a bit to be desired in "decor". Restaurant ws great. Good access to the Motorways which was what we needed.
Everything, professionaly run by excellent staff
Reception happy to change the room at our request. Excellent pool and nice gardens for relaxing with also shade.Convenient location for travelling on autotoute.Staff and service good.Liked the private terrace outside the room. First room offered was opening right onto the restaurant so no privacy at all. There were plenty of rooms available so this one should not have been given to us in the first place. Breakfast good, dinner pricy but ok and 1 magret between 2 was not very generous.
Beautiful, peaceful location but with easy access to major routes. Family run hotel with friendly helpful staff. Excellent room and bathroom. Rather expensive overall and no obvious reception - perhaps because they are still renovating after a fire. We were not affected by the renovations.
Lovely comfortable room. Lush bathroom. Absolutely fabulous food. Great attentive service with a smile.
The room was magnificent
Beautiful grounds , a natural setting with space ,a very very comfortable bedroom with a rare feel of privacy not found in many hotels, very well maintained the air con is a great plus. Swimming pool is big enough to have a really good swim with a fantastic view . We had a very good meal fresh excellent produce every meal not over played with ,the service was just perfect with a charming smile the photos do not do it justice
Excellent setting, huge pool, beautiful big rooms, free internet, great breakfast
The location is charming, in a rural setting. The room and bathroom were excellent in any respect. Comfort parking. Breakfast was basic and overcharged.
Nice rooms, beautiful garden en view on the area, good restaurant.
Quiet, beautiful gardens, private sitting area no hospitality tray provided
Excellent food in the restaurant with the hotel in a quiet and peaceful location - exactly what we wanted ! We were fortunate to be ungraded to a suite which was delightful. We would recommend La Cardinale without hesitation.
High-class countryside hotel/farmhouse with all facilities. Very friendly staff. Excellent dinner and good breakfast. Quiet location.
good location and accessibility when travelling to the cote d'azur, Friendly people, however the room and especially the bathroom need more attention as there was a very distinct fungus smell. the bathroom needs to cleaned
very nice and helpful staff shower was very noisy and the room a bit cold at night
Breakfast :-) a new motorway by-pass is making it harder to find the hotel, because it's not on the map or GPS navigation yet.. (driving form Genova)
Due to weather the hotel was very busy The female receptionist staff worked very hard to look after everyone and serve us with a very good buffet as well as run the bar Many thanks to the very plesant staff
Efficient, functional and cheap
Choice of television channels!! Nothing
Reception staff were friendly Room was small, dark and smelly of damp, the bathroom was moldy and very dated.
The staff were friendly and the food was good. My husband wasn't able to connect to the internet in our room.
It was simple but it was good The badroom the shower
It was extremely noisy. Breakfast was a joke: no milk AT ALL, poor coffee and bread baked on the spot. It does NOT deserve 2 stars. it's barely 1.
The food was good, the room very confortavble and clean and the location great as we were travelling north through France.
There was nothing that I particularly liked about the hotel except possibly the staff were friendly enough. It was a little to far from the main moterway for our purpose. I know that there is a Campanile at Valence North and this is closer.
Staff friendliness, overall good quality of food, confort and cleanliness. The final bill is high.
Easy to find. Breakfast good. Dinner menu confusing and food not great.
Good facilities for an overnight stop on the long drive to south of France, and at an excellent price. Friendliness of staff. Location near to a motorway junction.
Maybe the lcd tv in the room :) 1) The room was really small. That small that when sleeping I kept on pushing the light switch, the lights switched on in the middle of the night and I woke up like 5 times. I have slept very bad. 2) I booked a double bed and I have got a twin bed. 3) Breakfast until 9 am was a dramatic thing. I have been traveling a lot during the day before and I needed to sleep a bit more. When woke up I learnt it was too late for breakfast so I must have picked my car, go and search for a place to have a proper breakfast. That was not funny.
Clean. Adequate comfort for overnight stay, tea and coffee facility. Dogs accepted. Strong smell of tobacco.
Nice location, good bed. Unprofessional staff, general (still common in France!) arrogance towards non-French speaking guests, expensive.
Very comfortable, nice ambience, very quiet and felt welcome. The food was excellent.
Beautiful location but still convenient for autoroute Restaurant not open on Monday evenings !!
On our way to the cote d'azur is was a marvelous location to relax .It is a very quiet village and very romantic. The dinner in the garden was very cosy. The view from the room was really marvelous. .
Charming village location excellent friendly staff Bathroom could have been a little better
Breakfast was OK. We were not charged for booking out early. Hotel was shut until 3pm when we arrived despite the confirmation stating we could check in at 1pm. No apology offered.Room was very small and bathroom was so small you could barely stand up. Bed uncomfortable, TV not working on many channels, restaurant menu sounded nice but was badly delivered. We checked out a day early.
Quite hard to find especially in the dark website said it was only 5 mins from motorway but it was much further than that Very pretty on arrival restaurant was busy which is always a good sign When we arrived we were told our room had been upgraded but what they did not tell us was a lampost outside our bedroom window was on all night and we had muslin for curtains pretty but useless.
Very peaceful and lovely views - wonderful to have a room that is not a box on top of a box! Would go again.
Good atmosphere. Lovely views. Charming village.
Lovely idiosyncratic hotel in a lovely village. -
The staff was very kind and efficient. The food was excellent. The medieval village was fantastic to visit.
Very elegant, set in a delicious small village inside the country. The staff is professional.
Truly amazing view and apricots on the terrace for breakfast. This is a very special village. Do not stay on Bastille Day! Far from peaceful.
The location of the hotel is excellent, a pretty village in lovely French countryside. The hotel is very attractive from the outside and has a traditional French feel inside. We ate in the hotel, which is also a restaurantl, the food was good, my husband said it was the best beef fillet he had tasted, but it was expensive. The double room we had was very small. However, it was only for one night so that was not too much of a problem but the reason I am writing this review is that the smell of the drains in the hotel room was absolutely disgusting. It was so strong that even with the bathroom door kept closed the smell kept me awake during the night. It ws really awful and the hotel should not be letting rooms that have such a drainage problem. Even though the location of the hotel was lovely I would not stay there again for this reason.
Wonderful ambience, superb food, beautiful locaton
A very attractive location and a characterful hotel in terms of building and the provision as a whole. The food was good quality although this was reflected in the prices.
location limited parking
Full of character, great views, a place to visit once. The welcome and response from the front of house staff was barely polite, brusque and anything but encouraging. There was not even a hint of a smile. Both gentlemen were very much from the John Cleese school of hoteliers.
