It was good value for money
Very convenient hotel. The staff is extremely cordial and customer oriented. Adding a frigobar to the rooms will give a plus to the customers
full recomendation, good standard with nice price
I liked really much everything in this hotel,it's a wonderful place and I love it.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It is a very good hotel for a reasonable price.
Breakfast and rooms were good. Bed and bathroom were comfortable and very good. The climate control system of the room was difficult to use or did not work correctly
For the price this was a good hotel very good shopping centre with meals all prices ( 2 course with beer 5.5 euros only s.s.) A long walk to the town (up hill )
Excellent breakfast. Room veryomfortable and good access to public transport Pity there was no facility in the hotel for evening meals. Quality of food and value at sister hotel was not as good as I would have expected.
Easy access. Poor breakfast.
breakfast and personel we asked for a smoking room via the site, we arrived, they told us we couldn't smoke in our room, after a bit of nagging we finally got our smoking room. And we stepped out of the lift on the 4 floor and saw that all the rooms on that floor were smoking rooms. So why the difficulty when we checked in?
It is realy a hotel where you can relax with luxary - in a spectarcular enviorement. The Auquadome is perfect.
Located in a beautiful natural mountain setting. Very nice modern decoration. Family friendly. The SPA treatments and pools are superb. Recommend the meals. Loved the Junior Suite I stayed in.
I thought the building itself was quite beautiful inside, with lots of sculpture and art work. The exterior seemed somewhat at odds with the quaint village it edged on but it was very elegantly done. I would definitely go again and with more time to enjoy the pools.
Staff excellent - very friendly, very helpful! None
The very good swimmingpool, the building and the way it was carefully build, the nice staff, the fair breakfast... That there´s no full information on the website about the extras: for instance that you have to pay €5,00 for the swimmcap (that is compulsory); that the extra bed, is an extra maplebed and not a bed...
Hardly anything bad to point out. Was all great. Location is beautiful. Having to wear swim caps in the swimming pool. With about 20 kids in there doing what kids do in pools I think it's a bit ridiculous, specially in the outside pool. If want to enjoy a bit of sun and then take a dive to cool off, it's stupid having to put a swim cap.
You have been very successful in chosing and training the staff. In my mind it is the most important factor in the hotel business. All of them show a very good balance between being well informed, interested to help, but not imposing their knowledge and "selling" at every moment. The best way to sell is to provide a service that the customer appreciates and want to have more of and that is what Soraia in the Spa managed to do for me and my wife. She should be commended for her professionalism and pleasant appearance. It would facilitate to have a place where you can hang robes and towels in connection with the saunas. It is now very important to maintain properly all the nice installations. The shower outside the sauna was not working when we were there.
The excellent dinner and breakfast buffets for a very reasonable price. The showers pre-swimming-pool are not post-signed and are not compulsory which is rather shocking. The heated swimming-pool is more for soaking than for swimming - there are hidden walls and tubes a little bit everywhere, again with no signs. There isn't enough light for reading in the room !!
Fantastic location, excellent staff. Room comfortable and spa facilities first class.
Friendliness of the staff - and in primary - the restaurant on the hotel - perfekt service - We felt wellcome - !
great staff and very helping, clean and very nice hotel
Friendly staff, very clean rooms, near some local shops, free car parking little expensive
The hotel is one of the best in Portugal. Despite it's location in the city center it has an open swimming pool, all day working restaurant and convenient parking lots. 3.60 euro/day Internet access in a room is suitable and better than in other Portuguese hotels. The staff is very friendly. The hotel exit is to the central narrow street. It took about 40 min to leave the hotel after check-out by car as the exit was blocked by two service trucks.
Staff always very helpful. Good sized clean rooms. Excellent Value
Nice, clean, good value for money, the hotel staff, the cleanliness. The 'rush' for breakfast. Closed at 10 AM sharp... :-)
Central position, parking and clean No hair shampoo in bathroom!
I liked the 24 hour reception duties. The breakfast was lovely and all of the staff were very attentitive. I thought that there could of been more lighting in our bathroom around the bath area as i almost slipped as it is very dark.
Central location, but tucked away off the main road, so you wouldn't know you were in the centre of town. Had character, was clean & comfortable and value for money - and had internet access & pool Yes - the pool was closed for cleaning, which I did not know when I booked, or I might have looked for somewhere to stay closer to the place I was visiting. (I was on a dual break where I was partly on business and partly relaxing.) Fancy cleaning a pool in july! That's why I have marked down the facilities. Also breakfast culd include a few extras like eggs, etc
The food, the daily available free newspaper
Easy parking, excellent view, quietness, attentive staff, cleaness, confort. Perfect maintnance. Nothing at all.
Great if you have a car, however the hotel is not in the centre
Good breakfast wireless didn't work; swimming is closed in the evening and opens too late
Quiet, good location, near to the modern side of the city. Internet wasn't free.
Excellent and helpfull staff at a good rate
Clean modern hotel, good car park, spacious room and bathroom, good breakfast, reasonable location Leisure facilities don't open until 9am!
A good hotel if you want to stay close to the mountains and enjoy a city life at same time. Very good conditions
staff very courteous and professional both at reception and in restaurant - food was very good also reasonably priced
Boa localização. Óptima relação qualidade/preço. Conforto e limpeza. Good location. Very nice value for money. Confortable and clean.
Big room, with A/C, very good WC, facing the main street, but very quiet and silent, Simple but pleasant breakfast, and free Wi-Fi internet access. Swimming pool is used as well by non guests for hidro gym, and everybody is compelled to wear swiming caps.
The hotel staff were very friendly and even showed us to our room. The pool facilities were fantastic and the pool bar prices were very reasonable Hotel restaurant was expensive
Good room for a family although very dark. Some overhead lights would be good. The room was not ready when we arrived at 4pm. The pool area was absolutely packed as was the car park but by 8pm that night, the car park was relatively empty which makes me think that a lot of people around the pool were not actually staying at the hotel as you could park your car in the underground parking lot and walk thorugh to the pool without anyone checking.
A very warm welcome by the hospitable couple that runs the hotel. Very interested and interesting people. You are treated as a friend rather than as a mere customer. It's a pity our Portuguese is so basic. For the rest : nice, clean rooms and a beautiful location.
We loved the views from our 'suite', enjoyed swimming every day from the river beach just across the field, had an excellent breakfast each morning, received very helpful information on what to see and do in the area, were treated as personal friends by the owners, appreciated staying in a historic olive oil and flour mill built of the local schist. Meals locally were good and cheap and the people everywhere so friendly. Quite simply we had a wonderful time! Nothing!
The house is spectacular and the owners are extremely nice people, the decoration is very tasteful.
After a day riding in the mountains getting lost we arrived late but were greeted with a friendly smiley face. Nothing was open in the town but Joaquim made sure we did not go to bed on an empty stomach! Our suite was beautiful and the building which is a converted mill was stunning. It was the most memorable place during the whole of our hotel.
No English speaking staff. No daily room cleaning. Just a few tv channels.
Very friendly and helpful people. They speak English and French. You just feel at home with them. A very nice house with a lot of possibilities for a short stay (a week or less). The shower cell in the bathroom was a bit outdated.
Excellent hotel in beautiful location. Service second to none. Lovely family-run business.
hospitality the single room is too small
heating in winter
absolutely everything. the attention to detail was amazing. the facilities provided were better than any others that we experienced on a trip that took in 4 and 5 * hotels. We were amazed at what this place had to offer and the surrounding countryside is not to be missed.probably undersold itself on the website
Beautiful settings for a beautiful hotel. Situated high in the mountains in a remote village and can be hard to find at night. Hotel decor and grounds are very nicely designed. Swiming pool is large and there are many lounge chairs in the shade and there is an outside hot tub as well. Food in the restaurant was very tasty and gourmet. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff - speaks English. we loved everything
Cosy hotel, very nice for romantic weekend's, view is excellent, staff is nice. Not to many attencion for details in cleanliness and guest service. Very small choice in the buffet breakfast, and the heating was not very strong.
Nicely decorated room with a fantastic view and friendly staff Fairly expensive. Bathroom was not up to the rooms standard and toilet smelled quite a lot... it should also have individual shampoo and shower gel bottles
Nice atmosphere, clean rooms and surroundings (swimmingpool), nice owners, excellent food, great dogs! A welcome drink would be nice after a long drive; we heared the last night at dinner that walking paths are available! Would be nice when we were informed earlier during our stay.
Unique location. Very friendly. Delicious food for normal price. It feels like comming home!! None
The appearance was very warm and welcoming. The staff was more then friendly and did their very best to find room for a little longer stay. We liked the lot.
The landscaping was beautiful with flowers everywhere. The view from our room looked out on the Serra Estrela with the wooded valley below. The staff were very friendly and helpful.Breakfast was very nice with fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal bread and jam but a a bit late so no coffee until 8:30 am. Except for the late breakfast there were no bad points as far as we are concerned.
Very friendly staff and hotel owners. Multilingual. Very romantic room. Excellent retaurant and very nice breakfast.
Hotel is lovely, the location is good for exploring, the views are stunning, food was good. The breakfast was too basic, more variety please. The hotel closed early, so nt for those who like a late night, no bar! Also being very rural it would have been good to have satellite tv- news/ sport in english, there was only portugese tv available, which in this day and age isn't enough.
cosiness, comfort, good atmosphere
The friendliness and professionalism of employees is the best in the house. Excellent design and comfort. Flawless. Dificult access to people with limited mobility.
Absolutely amazing!!! Great rooms, wonderful staff, excellent food, nice pool, sauna, relaxing area. No complaints at all. Its a remote location with fresh air and nature surroundings. Good for walks/hiking and especially good for relaxing. Highly recommended!
Quality of hotel and service
Beautiful location, serenity of the place, food, comfortable bed, services, kind & helpful hotel staff.
Friendly & helpfull staff
Wonderful location, food was gorgeous in this family run hotel. Staff were very hospitable. Good value for money. Bed was firm.
A very pleasant hotel near the centre of Manteigas. Close enough to walk, far enough fro tranquility. The atmosphere is real Swiss but befits the surrounding mountains.Nice rooms with balconies with a great view over the West side of the valley. Bathrooms are not too spacy and hotel staff could be more forthcoming and less stiff.
Friendly, family run facility, good location close to beautiful hiking in the Serra do Estrella, great dinners and breakfasts in on-site restaurant with lovely view of town/mountains. Convenient to have internet access on-site. Hosts were very helpful with info about local hiking trails and places of interest. Lovely swimming pool!
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was fabulous. Beautiful area.
The hotel is situated in the beautiful valley. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Good place to spend a night if you travel across Portugal. I saw big ants in the flakes when had my breakfast.
Friendly reception, hospitality, beautiful environment, excellent restaurant and breakfast, very beautiful swimming pool
It was a most pleasant - but all too short - stay. The staff were frienndly & welcoming. The room was immaculately clean and the food was truly excellent and overall, real value for money. Wi-Fi connection was a bit sketchy
Comfortable, clean, good value. The hotel restaurant was also very good.
Situated across from the town and in the foothills of beautiful mountains. Peaceful and quiet. Very friendly staff and excellent food. All at a very reasonable price. On site parking and free. No safe in the room, bathrooms need updating
Nicely located close to the highest part of Serra da Estrela. Nice swimming pool (not heated, so little cold) with view over Covilha + surrounded area, lounge music all day long which is good to relax. Splendid breakfast, with good variety. Building and rooms looked a little outdated already, but nevertheless still comfortable. No fridge on room.
View - although weather was so bad whilst there saw little. no mini bar, no hair dryer in room, lighting poor.
Good and quiet location, only 10 min from the ski resort. The rooms are not very big but they are good nevertheless.
This is a very interesting and comfortable hotel in a fine location with excellent views (its worth the small supplement for a valley view room!). We first stayed in 2005, now (in 2008) it has been sympathetically updated with very well appointed rooms and bathrooms. The design of the hotel is quite striking and unique. Very nice swimming pool/terrace with a bar providing drinks and snacks
Room was fanrastic. Very modern and well appointed. Staff was very helpful and patient with our very limited Portuguese. Staff had very limited information on independent hiking opportunities in the area.
we enjoyed the hotels the views down the valley were fantastic a quiet relaxing location food very good and staff helpfull and friendly
The mountain view and great swimming pool over Covilhã
The location near "Serra da Estrela"
It was very quiet. The buffet was not really very good.
The location is fabulous, employees are friendly The rooms are tiny and the hotel was with works in the pool, not taking spaces outside to take advantage
friendly staff Feezing temperature in the room on arrival, restaurant closed, poor breakfast (late october - offseason - probably only guests).
It is a quiet place, where you can rest and see the mountain view and shop for local souvenirs
nice new standard hotel, good location not finished, fitness and pool weren't open yet
Brand new hotel. Pool & patio not finished. Little English but we each could understand each other. Couldn't do more for us. Changed our room when our first room didn't pick up the internet access. Very very helpful. Had to drive 10 mins into Seia as it was up on its own in the hills. But we found parking each time in town. Excellent.
Beautiful Village, Beautiful Hotel - will stay again. Note we were given front door key.
A lovely old house recently converted sympathetically, in a traditional hillside village. Very comfortable & clean rooms, good sized bath (be patient waiting for hot water to arrive... it will), nice breakfast with freshly-baked bread. The owner is very friendly, even if her English was nearly as basic as our Portugese. Great value. Out of season, there is no restaurant in the village though only 10-15 minutes drive away is Fundao with a selection. If you visit with a large car, it may be wise to park in the village square to avoid scraping it against the very narrow streets.
Numa palavra: Tudo!!! Quarto com vista para o castelo, recepção calorosa, cama superconfortável, velas no quarto, pequeno almoço delicioso, donos do hotel super-simpáticos... Nada a apontar
Very helpful hostess. Our room was very clean, spacious, quiet and well equipped. We also had the use of an upstairs dining room/lounge for after dinner relaxation. The breakfast was good. It's an exceptionally charming hotel in an unspoiled village. Off season, there is no restaurant or decent shop in the village where food can be bought.
This hotel is located in a very pretty small village in the mountains. The outside of building is the original but inside it is converted to a beautiful modern home. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the ruins of the castle - one hundred meters away. Very clean hotel with comfortable beds and modern bathrooms. Parking is on the street - streets are very narrow. Hotel is not that dificult to find as it is relatively close to the main highway. Hotel staff doesn't speak English. Breakfast was just OK but enough for the money 50 euros that we paid for our one night stay.
Helpfulness of staff Lunch and dinner advertised in lift not actualy available. Breakfast only, which was good
Nice Hotel where we have been before. They offer us a very good sevice.
There was an awesome view from our ninth floor room and the hotel was also close to the centre of town. None
Helpfullness of staff. Excellant value for money
The staff very friendly and customer oriented If possible, to have a big TV.
Position, view from the rooms and breakfast
The views from this hotel are awesome. High floor recommended There is a park a short distance away which gets a little noisy at night.
Great welcome, comfortable room also provides good value buffet breakfast.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was good for the town center and there was ample car parking The car park is not easy to find on arrival and information should be provided with the booking confirmation
A better room with balcony and wonderful view friendly staff
Very friendly hotel staff. Bed was a little to uncomfortable.
Hotel was close to centre town. Staff was very friendly. Hotel was decoratd by paintings done by proprietress, some of them very lovely. Parking facilities were hit and miss.Room was small and smelled of previous smokers.
elegant decor, great views
Hospitality of staff, hotel conditions, the swimming pool Expensive restaurant, no activities for children
The view and location was spectacular! Our suites were comfortable and elegant. I should have booked for two nights and taken a day off from sightseeing to just relax at this wonderful oasis. Our GPS took us on a very, very interesting route to get to the hotel!
Very quite location. Friendly service. Recommended!
style&feel of the place is good, spacious, good dining.friendly staff room style ingongruous - felt more like mountain chalet than a convent cell;)
