Good hotel, good restaurant, parking is okay the weather wasn't so good; no possibility to take a shower ( only a bath); payment for spa and not accessible for kids beyond 12 years
The staff were very friendly, everything was in condition and clean. The heater did not seem to work very well especially in the bathroom.
Enjoyed the hotel because of it's setting and its hystoric background. Wish the room had a shower, not just a bath
The restaurant was great, portions enormous! Location was perfect, great place to stop on a trip to Germany.
Clean, comfortable conveniently located. Professional staff all necessary facilities. Room too hot (or too noisy if air-con used)
The town is right outside the door. Some staff were good at volunteering information which we wouldn't have thought to ask. Excellent signposting on all approaches. The town is right outside the door, the cobbles make for noisy awakenings... use the bathroom windows for ventilation instead. The questionnaire provided did not have an English version (we were unable to give positive feedback directly to the hotel).
The food, facility, and staff were outstanding: breakfast through dinner! N/A Totally satisfied!
The staff were extremely helpful. The rooms were light and bright and the location of the hotel was right in the middle of the town but at the same time was quiet.
Friendliness of staff
amazingly refurbished, fantastically clean - great atmosphere in an old building but brought up to modern standards. Very good restaurant. Great service. One of the best places I have stayed in for a long, long time.
Lovely people, great food, excellent service. Perfectly located in the centre of the village.
We particularly liked quiet in hotel, lovely acessible garden and meals with flair Lack of fans or air conditioning in very hot weather, although to rear of property, by opening the door I was woken by outside noise(lorries at night) and then by hotel dog barking 6am. I am a light sleeper. .
Great location right in Rochefort, walking distance to great restaurants. We stayed in the older part of the building and our room had interesting roof angles but still modern amenities including good sized bed and bathroom. Loved the the place had a pool and private parking. Parking was a little difficult to find and the pool was too cold
Interesting historical building, which has been nicely renovated. The hotel has a nice garden and is located conveniently in the town center. The room was extremely small and the ceiling too low. I think the room was a bit overpriced for what it offered.
A very friendly welcome from the staff and the walk to the bedroom from reception was through the ancient vaults that now house the extensive wine cellar. The hotel has been tastefully renovated and provides modern amenities without losing its old world charm. Dinner was excellent although a little expensive, but overall, a memorable meal with excellent service. The room allocated was rather small and the low eaves in part of the room meant that one had to be careful when moving about and getting out of bed not to hit your head. The room allocated was cetainly smaller than the photos would suggest and I would not have been happy if I had paid the full advertised price for this room.
The staff were excellent. The hotel was suberb, the decor, the room were outstanding, could not recommend this hotel highly enough. Will certainly go back there very soon. How could you not like this wonderful hotel.
The location was made us pick this hotel. The gardens were beautiful, but if you didn't eat breakfast or have a garden view room it was hard to appreciate them, The management was not responsive to requests for a fan in a very warm room. Just shrugged and said no one else complained or needed a fan, but we could see that other guests had fans in their windows, so it is a problem. Don't get room 430.
Beautiful decor, excellent restaurant, friendly owner and staff, convenient parking.
This hotel was amazing! The staff was excellent and very helpful, especially considering that we did not speak much French. The room (street side) was very clean and had a jacuzzi tub in it. The indoor pool, sauna, and steam room were some of the nicest I have ever used. it s also in central Rochefort, which is a very nice town.
the place looks very nice the blanket was dirty with hair (YAK!) and the hotel made us pay 10 euro more than what we were seposed to- and couldnt say why (also becouse they dont speek English at all!) the price was 125 +tax on the web' and they wanted us to pay 180!!!! at the end they agreed that we pay 140 - and that is also too much. we got out with a very bad feeling
we only stayed for one night,it was very comfortable, great food proved more expensive than we expected
even though 2 years old kind, they charged normal fee (Eur14.00)as breakfast fee. so total 4 pepole incluidng two kinds, we had to pay Eur56.00. it's too expensive....
It is hard to determine what we liked best about the Chateau de Vignee, the rooms, the staff, or the restaurant. We stayed here during a beer tour of the Trappist Monasteries in SW Belgium and were sorry that we only stayed one night. The hotel is a classic old stone farm house with 4 wings surrounding a central courtyard. We ate dinner in the hotel dining room and had a Michelin quality full french 3 course dinner with an endless pour of a fantastic French Grand Cru.... Excellent stay.. We had 3 rooms including one suite with a large sitting area and fireplace... The hotel is firmly placed in French speaking Belgium. The night staff that checked us in and took care of us at dinner spoke good English but the checkout during the morning took all of the French that we spoke. Americans will find the European style bathtub with hand held shower sprayer and no shower curtain to take a bit of learning.. but the tubs were huge as were the bathrooms so its worth the slight bit of extra effort.
Bautiful garden, excellent food, nice staff
-Huge room, very friendly staff, nice surrounding area (park) -The hotel is old and our room was even leaking water from the room above, hotel is definitely overpriced
This is a real historic building well situated in great nature. The restaurant is a must. I had the 5 course dinner and it was just great. Most GPS systems do not lead you directly to the hotel
beautiful location. Breakfast excellent. We did not have evening meal but the menu looked very good No. We would probably book again and this time stay a little longer
beautiful rooms and friendly staff difficult stairway in part of chateau - difficult for children to walk up.
antiques in the hotel cold in the bathroom
Nice spacious room. Clean bathroom. Good breakfast! WiFi connection didn't work. Reception desk is not open in the evening.
My stay was just overnight on transit to my main location, this was OK for the purpose Car [arking was a distance from the hotel
food was quite good general condition of the building was not as you would expect for the start of the season.
Nice hotel close to Grottes with exellent breakfast
The breakfast was OK, but it is the only one good thing. Bathroom in my room needs complete renovation, Internet was slow and working only in restaurant, which was closing at 11 pm.
We arrived only just in time for dinner but staff were so helpful and the food was superb! nothing
Room with bunk beds for child
Food and value for money. Lifts, very scruffy and out dated. Stuffed animals nearly everywhere, not to everyone's taste.
Nice place, central location, very good breakfast. No one spoke English. Card payment terminal did not work.
Superb setting, tranquility assured. Arriving without checkin formalities, offered a drink in the garden, service is impeccable. Service in dining room was very slow, waited 20 minutes without a drink. Having to walk 50 metres in rain to retrieve car from car park, its situated away from the chateau.
Dinner experience was awesome.
The staff was very friendly
The food was excellent!!!!!! Definitely try the gastronomy menu for dinner. And the people there were very friendly and attentive to our needs. Beautiful and peaceful, this castle helped me recharge my batteries.
Kind staff. Very very nice meal. Everything was fine for us.
A magical place, a fairy tale that somehow made it in our times, a perfect romantic gateway
A castle hotel to relax and enjoy the wonderful restaurant. The quality of meal as well as the service of staffs were exceptionally excellent. No lift. But hotel staff offered transport of our luggage.
Quality of breakfast. Unfriendly and unhelpful staff, bad service.
Excellent service. Great cuisine. Location in the heart of the Ardennes countryside. Beautiful courtyard and terrace. The room smelled of chlorine in the beginning (no doubt due to the swimming pool located below). The swimming pool did look a little knackered up. Two single beds instead of a double bed - difficult to keep them from sliding apart.
excellent gastronomic diner no
food was excellent, room ok, terrace very nice, swimming pool very accessible and pleasant apparently sauna is not available during summer months, but it is not mentioned anywhere
cosy, peaceful and great little sociable garden with an open fire under a pergola for lazy evenings with a good drink Food and drink very expensive... probably very good but we preferred to try some other places in the area!
Very friendly, excelent value we will come back
After a very long journey from Munich, the bed we slept on provided us with a sound nights sleep, it was extremely comfortable. Our hosts Jan and Anneka, were friendly and spoke excellent english. Our breakfast was wonderful, fresh rolls straight from the bakery . The decor was a bit dated, But owners doing up gradually
location proximity of church (bells), separate bathroom
Was there for only a few hours but the stay was very comfortable.
The owners of this very old hotel did everything to preserve the spirit and atmosphere of the place. No luxury of course but a wonderful relaxing experience. The garden is magnificent!
Lovely old building in a beautiful setting. Very kind host and hostess, friendly and chatty. Provided beer in the evening in the beautiful peaceful garden, where we also had breakfast next morning. Very enjoyable stay. The only downside is that, although the location is very nice, there is not mcuh choice where to eat nearby. We ended up going to a local campsite, which actually has a pretty good restaurant and bar.
Excellent breakfast. Friendly, helpful hosts. Beautiful garden and communal rooms. Interesting place. Comfortable bed. Basic room and bathroom. Nowhere to eat close to hotel the night we stayed.
Friendly hosts. Plerasant village location. Need to drive out to obtain dinner as owhere in walking distance.
Personel service by the owner and breakfast in the garden douche facility is not perfect
The cleanliness, location, good service, pet-friendly
