All the services that you provided were good and the rooms were large and clean. The bar area was rather small and there was not spare tables at times.
It is not often that you get such friendly people working at an hotel in France! So this is worth mentionning it. Everything was nice although the hotel is looking a bit old but nevertheless perfect.
Location and the restaurant next door
Convenient location. Quiet. Free parking. Pleasant staff. Binders are available with information on restaurants, places to see, things to do, etc. and useful. The evening reception staff has always been friendly and helpful in making dinner reservations and answering questions. This is the third time visiting Best Western Hotel Le Schoenenboug. Limited breakfast items and rather expensive for what is offered. Prefer to have the breakfast price included in the room price vs. a separate charge.
Free internet access. Free Parking. Walking distance to town. Room does not have view. Toilet is so small that if you are tall, you will hit the wall. The front desk is friendly but they refuse to help to change for a room with view of the vineyard.
location is perfect, parking very convenient, staff very friendly, surroundings and decor very pretty room very basic, breakfast very basic, both more expensive than they should be
Helpful staff, clean rooms, location Object to paying for gym. Size of comfort room was too small compared with the one we stayed at previously- Room 218 v 206 to 209
Location very good. Swimming pool a good plus. Friendly staff. Good breakfast buffet. N/A
Although on the edge of the small town it nestles up to the acres of vineyards. Easy stroll into typical picturesque old town. Stylish but comfortable bedroom. Shower room compact but efficient and lots of shelving. Separate little 'lobby' for wardrobe and storage of luggage. Good parking. Breakfast expensive but a lot of choice e.g. variety of cereals, conserves, teas, breads etc
location! breakfast was too expensive
Fantastic service, top location and private parking!
Wonderful place for staying during the trip on Alsace. Very friendly and attentive staff, nice and clean room. Without any doubts there is hotel with character and kind atmosphere insind.
Spacious, calm room with view over the garden/parking lot. Friendly staff, uncomplicated and diligent service. Great location in the middle of the village. A bit difficult to access by car (pedestrian area). The bathroom needed some repairing.
The very central location, the good parking, the ancient romantic style, the helpful staff and the generous breakfast. Due to steep stone stairs in the old house the hotel is not convenient for handicapped people and small children. Help with suitcases should facilitate this problem.
Hotel is uniquely situated within the old city walls and right next to major pedestrian walking streets. Parking is right next door.
Central location! The circular stairs were difficult to use; especially with luggage. Hotel staff did not offer to help with carrying luggage up the stairs. Room had very dark wood, very poor lighting and was depressing. We canceled our second night. Bathroom desperately needed remodeling.Hotel photos do not represent the actual rooms!! There was nothing to like about this hotel!
The room was very nice, the location of the hotel is perfect and the guy at the front desk was also very nice. Breakfast was quiet poor.
Friendly staff and good central location
everything about the hotel was o.k. but not more. the receptionpst in the morning was very helpful and kind. the rooms were not convinient for people over 180cm but this is an old house so....
Excellent room and dinning.
It had a high class feel to it. The pool and jacuzzi were clean and pretty, and very relaxing. The food is very good, and the location is simply perfect. Easy and free parking on site.
Very comfortable and luxurious hotel, spacious room, large bathroom. large bed, nice porch with a view of the vineyards and the castle, relaxing spa
environment, comfort, swimming pool & spa, food, small town, castle, pretty decoration inside outside, welcoming, quite. cosy. may be could be more welcoming to children even if main customers are obviously either romancing couples or older, richer, gourmet and spa loving type...
Superb service in a very well designed hotel. The food in the gourmet restaurant was excellent.
Beautiful looking hotel set in a prime location in a fantastic medieval villiage with scenic surroundings and exquisite architecture.
Atmosphere , freindliness fellow guests , extremely courteous and friendly , helpful staff , very good location None at all Plenty of local restaurants about 1 mile away make up for this hotel not doing meals apart from an excellent buffet breakfast
Our stay at your hotel was extremely pleasant - our room was lovely, the breakfasts were just great and we found the location to be perfectly situated for the area we were visiting.
The hotel is a true jewel. The renovation of the old buildings is done with such taste and style. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Free and well protected parking place.
The hotel is in a very quiet neighbourhood. The parking is enclosed and adequate. Beautiful surroundings. There is no restaurant at the hotel for evening meals. The only other facility in the town was closed the night we went there. It is quite a walk to the next town.
the quitness at the evening and at the night, the authenticity of the village of Kientzheim. Good location in the middle of te wine routes
Well maintained and refurbished historical site. Double bed too narrow.
High quality breakfast. Friendly staff. Gorgeos proprty and surroundings. N/A
Excellent location. Staff is not very attentive but they are efficient.
Lovely property in delightful village. Helpful staff provided map for excellent 14km circular walk. Dinner only avaialble at the other hotel in the village (excellent food, but closed Tuesdays) or at nearby Kaysersburg
Rooms were very comfortable, quiet with great views. While large suites were pricey, the size and amenities in the end made the stay good value. Highly recommended, we will visit again.
staff, locations, room size, decoration and cleanness. A real good hotel in a country where hotels are below standards
The best in the hotel are the bed stuff. It miss a restaurant.
This hotel has a central location in the heart of the Alsace region close to all the major villages located on the famous Route des Vins d'Alsace. It is located on a hill in the middle of the vineyards with a beautiful view on the surrounding villages and mountains. Large rooms are very nice and employees are very friendly. I am afraid that I do have the same negative comment as many other reviewers about the beds: the mattresses are very thin and the feather bed cover (couette) is too small, thus not covering the whole bed and body while you sleep.
Nice view on the vineyards and ideally located for visiting the small villages of wine routes.
Transport to and from local restaurants.
Great location. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. There was a "sewage" type smell in the room. Staff tried to perfume it away. It would clear with opening of the windows, but would return.
Peace, quiet and delightful loc.ation; excellent facilities
Very pretty setting and cleverly laid out lodging arrangements. Taking breakfast on the shaded in terrace with a stunning view was particularly enjoyable. Garden and pool also very nice. Rooms/studios roomy and comfortable. Staff very freindly and service minded Two separate beds pushed together does not constitute a large double bed as advertised!! In addition, the mattresses in our room were extremely soft - possibly due to wear. Whilst the general standard of cleanliness was high, the chair in our bedroom was very badly stained and really shold not have been left in the room in that condition.
The hotel chaufre services to excellent restaurants near by in the evening
The charm of the medieval hotel, the way modern conveniences were retro-fitted into the original very old building. Very colorful and friendly. The extra charge for the breakfast was too much, though the breakfast was nicely done.
Location excellent, room was spacious and comfortable.
A hotel and town with a difference! Stepping back in time but retaining modern comforts makes a most refreshing stay.
Proximity and good ambience
The authentic nature of the hotel which is situated in a beautiful medival village.
Very nice location, beautiful city, beautiful old building. The personell was not very friendly. Not a real familyhotel.
Good location. Uncomfortable bed.
The location and the charm and decor of the hotel. It was like a scenes fro a Hansel and Gretel story. We liked it so much we stayed a second night. The reception staff were a little slow to attend and one chap (the bar man from downstairs) was particularly awkward when we mentioned that the light fitting from the shower was left sitting on the toilet.
Lovely position in the centre of the beautiful town, full of character, breakfast outside in courtyard Room was very hot (no fans or air conditioning) and bedroom furniture a bit 'tired' - needs updating
not a complaint but tea making facilities would have improved things
Everyone at this hotel was friendly & helpful.
Nice place located close to central area of the city
Room was clean and comfortable, staff was helpful, great location for walking into town or taking one of the hiking trails.
Ideal place for our holidays in Alsace : welcome, very helpfull and englischspeaking staff, high quality fittings and confort , wellkept hotel and quiet place close to the historical center of marvellous village of Kaysersberg, itself well located in the middle of the wine road; Very happy of my choice.
location and ability to park easily at the hotel This was no three star hotel. It was extremely basic. I could not use my phone card and they were no help. The breakfast was not very good and the coffee was undrinkable.
Comfortable (bed, shower, plenty of room); location (very close to centre); parking; helpful staff; free wifi. Nothing
Friendly and helpful staff. Clean spacious rooms. Good breakfast Bit difficult to find in amongst the one-way systems.
The staff was very nice and friendly. Especially for the family like us who has a little child, it is very important to have such a nice staff. They offer us a big enough apartment type of room and prepared the baby bed appropriate.
Very cosy hotel. Exellent enviroment. Nice view and very comfortable terrace.
Nothing. Awful experience. I stayed at the hotel, and I think your front desk people are a disgrace. Unfriendly, unhelpful and raging with stereotypical European attitude. I would never recommend your hotel to a friend or family member, and I will never sit foot in your hotel again. I was extremely disappointed with my experience at your hotel. You should be ashamed of the way you treat people.
The location was very convenient and easy to find.
Very nice view!
The views were stunning...the staff very hospitable
Typically French hotel... Clean and reasonably well appointed. 1960S decor. Great views within lovely village. Typically French hotel... Got a lecture from the receptionist because we were late arriving, and another lecture on the same topic when we left! The restaurant was "complet" at 9 with only half the tables occupied
Surroundings were beautiful, right in the middle of Alsace vineyards. Food was excellent and the service and very good. The rooms need serious updating. Having said that they were very clean. The remodelling has started, the lobby and dining room are really nice; quite boutiquey.
The location suited our needs for a relaxed stay and at the same time close to castles of historic interes and pictoresk villages within bicycle reach.
Comfortable hotel. Excellent restaurant.
Service minded and attentive personale. Minor misunderstanding regarding the meaning og a quadrouble room. It turned out to be a family room and not for 4 persons and separate beds. Incident was managed superbely by the host.
Great location. Easy to find. Good parking. Helpful and friendly staff. Our rooom had a lovely view of Zellenberg and the surrounding vineyards Good selection of wines from local growers. Good menu choice. Starters and main course were well presented and tasty. The desserts we had appeared to be frozen. A fresh range of desserts would compliment a good menu.
the landscape, quiet lugar, wineyard restaurent closed on Sunday and Monday
Well placed near the town with plenty of parking. Large room, bath small and would go for the 'walk in' shower next time. 10 minute walk into town for dinner.
The staff was very gracious and always available to answer questions. The hotel itself was nice and, of course, Riquewihr is a great place to visit! The hotel was about 1/2 mile from the town center, so a trickier walk with small children, but totally doable for leisurely shopping (and you walk past wine rooms!). We enjoyed the pool at the end of the day and did not partake in breakfast. We had a loft room which was comfortable and air conditioned (wonderful in August!), but the carpet needed to be cleaned. It had a strong smell. This was the only downside.
Friendly staff and nice swimming pool. Close to city center with walking distance. When we arrived at the hotel before check-in time (around 1:00pm), no staff were in the reception. The hotel location on the map of Booking.com website was wrong and I was confused a little.
Good position in easy walking distance of the town. Breakfast OK but not included in room price. Pool OK if a little small.
Very decent clean rooms, close walking distance to the old town.
Good location close to the town of Riquewihr. New flatscreen TV with USB input. Rooms and bedding were fairly dated with uncomfortable linen The bathroom had its issues, including no shower curtain and an unmounted shower head. There were also flies in the room.
We came with our four children, we like the way how your hotel make us feel at home even with four lively kids
Nice and clean hotel, the room was quiet.
Nice hotel, friendly staff, nice location just outside Riquewihr, free wifi (but password required)
very nice breafast
Travelling with a child we particularly appreciated the quiet big and well furnished family "suite" (4 beds). The hotel is exceptionally clean, staff very friendly and the breakfast delicious. Decoration with artificial flowers/plants make it look a little old fashioned. Bathrooms are sparkling clean, but could use a ventilation system.
Easy to find. Restaurant claimed to have nothing to do with the hotel, and was very expensive. Parking very limited.
The hotel is well-located for exploring that part of Alsace. Riquewihr is only 4km away and you can walk there through the vineyards. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast for a French hotel.
The friendliness of the staff The hotel is located on a busy road. Make sure you get a room on the back of the building.
Nice personell; clean, luxury family rooms & good breakfast. Moreover the hotel is well situated to explore South Elzas. In sum, a pleasure to stay
Smart hotel, staff very pleasant and helpful. Hotel on busy road with noisy traffic
Excellent service superb restaurant next door and surrounded by lovely contyside A tad expensive really.
very friendly and helpful, clean and new and "old french style" architecture
The courteous welcome and offers to provide information on a rainy day were much appreciated as was the assistance with luggage.
The location was perfect! The look and feel of the hotel almost felt like a bed and breakfast...a big plus. A very comfortable, friendly environment. Thank you!
Absolutely gorgeous room! Beautiful wood paneling, spa size marble soaking tub, luxurious carpeting. The staff and buffet breakfast was also very good. We had a room on the main road through this town, which was on the "Alsace Wine Route" and there was alot of traffic noise despite the fact that they had very good quality windows and a/c. Also I am 6 ft tall and the bed we had was too short, my feet stuck off the end. I would reccommend if you stay here and you are sensitive to noise, that you must have a room off the street to be comfortable. If you are tall I'm not sure that other rooms are any better.
The room opened to a beautiful garden terrace with an amazing view of the Route de Vin. Each of our children were charged 7 Euros for breakfst. This seemed overpriced.
Traditional nature of the hotel, restaurant was very good. Wonderful views acrss the vineyards of Alsace. Reception was a litle confusing as it was across the road in the restaurant.
Beautiful little place at a good price. Very calm. Close to Ribeauville which is also a beautiful place. Excellent for stay-over on the way to Provence. Cleaning could have been better.
The rooms were a good size, recently renovated and an original green color with nice paintings on the walls. The bathrooms are rather small and narrow. The decor around the hotel was a bit messy. Brkfst could have had more food from the region.
The attached restaurant was superb and the staff very friendly helpful and attentive.Location very close to Colmar and the Alsace wine route was great. It was unfortunate that we had a huge thunderstorn and at about 3 am something resembling an air raid siren went off for about 10 minutes. The local church also chimed in regularly. Thank God for the Pinot Gris which helped us get a little sleep
Nice room, excellent food.
very good restaurant !
really enjoyed our stay nice staff and comfort and nice meals lovely village suroundings
Good breakfast. Rooms basic and clean. Restaurant too gourmet and pricey for vacationers
