Dam 9, Amsterdam, North Holland

It's right in the center of things and I had no problem walking to most of the hotspots in the city which was awesome. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great design of the place as the rooms are pretty stunning. Would def recommend to others Didn't like that it doesn't have a gym but it isn't a big deal because you can use the facilities at other nh hotels, in which there is one two blocks away from this one which did have a gym
The location Furnishing of the rooms
The staff are fabulous! Hotel has wonderful history. It was the home of Rembrandt's Nightwatch. The location is very central to all Amsterdam sites. The breakfast is incredible. It is one of the best places I have ever stayed!
Location Rooms are far too small for that price. Poor furnishings, tiny bathroom, no concierge, place is in dire need of an update
amazing interior with best in class everything
The hotel has a trendy, designy look and staff seemed friendly enough. There's a neat garden in the back and a they have a cozy lounge with descent drinks. I had high hopes for this property upon arrival, but overall was let down. I had the hotel dry clean three silk items, all of which were ruined. It took me over a week to get them to resolve it and in the end, they only paid out 75% of the replacement cost. We were put in a disabled accessible room located right by the elevator (despite not requesting an accessible room). It was loud, the accessible shower allowed water to get all over the bathroom floor. The vanity outlet in the bathroom wouldn't work and it took them coming out two times to fix it, leaving me unable to do my hair both mornings we were there. Upon arrival, the woman who greeted us (and was apparently training) said that welcome drinks were complimentary for guests. When the man training her joined her to do our check-in in the lounge, he asked if we were in town for anything special. I mentioned it was for my husband's birthday weekend and he offered to "cover our drinks." This seemed odd given the woman had just told us they were complimentary. Not sure if he was being underhanded or if the woman training was just mistaken. The whole thing struck me as odd.
Just about everything
very good location
The Pulitzer was recently redesigned and it exceeded my expectations in almost every way. The location can't be beat. It's in a very smart area in Amsterdam with great bars, shops, and restaurants nearby. The design of the hotel is very chic. The interior courtyard garden is amazing. Everything was perfect except service at restaurant Jansz. Everyone was well intended but some people (hostess) abandoned post for several minutes and people were left waiting to be received and, &! My case, to collect my coat. This is one area of operation to inspect. Otherwise, everything was so perfect. I've stayed also at the Dylan hotel and Waldorf and I would say that this hotel is better than Waldorf because the design is so smart and not generic like Waldorf. And I would say it's equal to the Dylan. Dylan is also chic but has a more classic design inspiration. Stay here while it's still affordable. I imagine rates will increase once reviews and bookings start coming in.
Excellent location. Little noisy, little dirty:)
This is a luxurious hotel located in the part of the Amsterdam. The service, the food and the staff were among the best that we have ever seen. We would love to go back there again.
Location The breakfast that is supposed to be included is just teas and coffees. You have to pay extra for a cooked breakfast even if your room rate says breakfast is included. The radio in the room started playing on its own early in the morning for no reason, extremely loudly. When we called down for a porter to switch it off, it took him 10-minutes to stop it playing. This woke us up and we couldn't get back to sleep. The staff didn't seem to care about such a major inconvenience.
Outstanding location. Excellent staff. We would use it again and plan to have FREIND's stay there in August
Good colours, style of reception and breakfastroon was pleasant, fireplace at receiption were really nice. No fitness room at the hotel. Wholefloor carpet is not same style than other things. Corridors ugly.
My wife and I make a great craft cocktail every night and when we travel it's something we look for a truly appreciate. Merlijn (impossible to pronounce correctly), the head bartender at the brasserie in the hotel is simply, the best. Specific pointer, his Vesper is the best Vesper cocktail we've ever had.
I really like the decor @ public areas The standard double room that I stayed is not in a good condition, too dark and small for too many furnitures, wc was not fixed well, switches in room are not convenient and there has not sufficient lights in room particularly in bathroom, also the bath tub is too high.
great location, fantastic rooms, drinks from the minibar and breakfast are always included in the room rates which was a very positive surprise. This is a better experience than most 5 star hotels I stayed at!
The location and common areas were lovely We were in room 8. The loo was tiny - luckily we are both thin. Anyone over 6 feet tall or 12 stone would stuggle to sit on it.
This is the place to stay for visitors to Amsterdam. Great location near everything. Great restaurants and bars near by. One of the better coffee shops and smart shops just a minute away. Nothing.
The staff Lack of information ,should make clear what the hotel offers .ie. breakfast not included no smoking signs ,never saw in rooms but rooms was clean and nice.
