Three adults, including myself, stayed here a day before and after a cruise. The hotel was a great price and offered three single beds and a very large bathroom. Being from the U.S. with limited public transportation where I live, I did not realize that the tram is different than the train. We thought we could take the tram to and from the airport and port, but you need to take a taxi, so that was a little disappointing. The tram is an excellent way to get downtown, though. You pay right on the tram, 7.50 Euros for 24 hours. The staff was extremely helpful in giving directions regarding navigating the city and helping answer a variety of questions. They even ordered taxi pick up for us. No cotton washcloths No alcohol on the premises Small refrigerator No ice? Limited dining in the area Must take a taxi to/from airport or port, the train is too far to walk with luggage The price the hotel quoted us for the taxi was incorrect. The taxi companies charged more.
-close to a coffiehouse -close to metro and bus -rents bikes and scooters per day -nice comfy rooms -clean -nice showers -On the day we checked out a guy came early to see if we left and continued to do so every two hours or so. Once we left we had forgot a bag and went back up he was going through said bag, and freaked out once he saw us. We just took our stuff and left not wanting to make a big deal. We later found out he stole 30 euro from the bag. Not a large amount, but still be wary. This is true everywhere. Never trust your money alone anywhere.
I really liked the staff who were always helpful in all the questions we had. The room was very modern.
There's a complimentary airport shuttle and it's only €5 a person for hotel to airport. Located right next to the tram. Only €7,50 for unlimited 24 hours on the tram and it brings you to the center of town with the Anne frank house or dam square if you get off at the next stop. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Very clean and comfortable bed. The price was a little steep in the restaurant on the 17th floor since the food wasn't amazing but it was pretty good. I recommend the quesadillas if you like cheese bc that was my favorite. Other than that I highly recommend this hotel!
breakfast was good althought expensive (17 euro pp), a lot of choice. The swimming pool was not that big but okay for a quick swim Using the sauna was an extra cost (10 euro pp), the lounge area was not always clean
Good room Room towards the motorway. Earplugs helped.
Our stay at the hotel was fantastic, probably one of the nicest hotels we have every stayed in. The price was very reasonable, and it was easy access to the centre of the city. The room was beautiful, and clean. We had a lovely stay, thank you. There was nothing that we didn't like during our stay at the hotel.
Clean , tidy Reception was a bit cryptic, not so freindly and lacking in advice
We liked the mirrors (especially the big one in front of the bed) and also the window between the room and the shower :). We also loved that we could sleep till late. The location is quite convenient, it's very easy to get from and to the airport (Lelylaan station), and also to the city centre (trams 1 and 17). In the shower there was a mild smell of sewer, from the drainage. Also, the toilet should have its own sink.
Check in time is too late, 15:00.
The room was really nice and comfortable. Very modern with good facilities in the room and hotel. The location was ok only a ten minute walk to the tram which takes you straight into the city of Amsterdam. Was nice to be close to the city but away from all the hustle and bustle. The staff were helpful and advised me and my partner on any information we needed regarding getting to different places we wanted to visit. The Skyy bar on the tenth floor was great. Gorgeous decor and the cocktails were fab!! Overall our trip was really good and would definatly stay there again and recommend to others. The only thing was having to pay to use the sauna in the spa although the swimming pool was free it was expensive to the sauna. Every spa hotel I have stayed in it was free so I wouldn't have expected to have to pay for this.
Food parking facilities good isolation from streetnoise view from cocktail bar on top of the building No information of costs of sauna, this was a surprise at check out Water streaming in the bathroom while showering No bathrobes
very good hotel, friendly staff, very nice rooms. expensive breakfast, a little bit far away from the Center
The room was an absolute fantastic room. Spacious, stylish, comfortable and clean. The staff wereaslo friendly and helpful. Extremely close to the centre although if you are not familiar with the area a sat nav would be an advantage
It's a really nice modern hotel, great for business trips- close to the airport! I didnt like that the hotel was so far away from Amsterdam City Centre, the hotel is'nt very close to the tram stop so it takes a while to get into Amsterdam City Centre. The hotel is definately for business people- not for tourists wanting to see and explore Amsterdam!
Reliable , easy access, comfortable The restaurant service does not match up with the profile of the hotel
Clean room, big beds, nice & modern equipment, quiet area. Very good value to cost. Location - the hotel is far away from the center and there are only office buildings around. It isn't that close to airport either - airport taxi costs 25-30 Euro. Similar cost is with the Shuttle bus. Travel to the city center takes up to 45 minutes by buses or by underground trains (plus 15minutes walk to the closest station). I hope this comment would help others since in my opinion it is really the only disadvantage of this hotel.
Hotel almost faultless, and quiet due to out of town location. Easy to reach from central Amsterdam. Not really, the bath did not drain particularly well and the shaver socket did not work. Apart from that, the room was perfect.
Good-sized rooms, very clean Location - in the middle of nowhere - but reasonably handy for the airport. Polite staff, but no information about the hotel (reception telephone number, restaurant details, etc) in the room. Food in the restaurant was reasonable.
The parking price... Sorry for my english but I would like everybody know our experience When I booked I asked them for a baby cot. Than from the experience of others I thought is better 2 call them on arriving day to renew my request. Everything was useless. We arrived at the hotel at 20.15... and the baby cot after a big ... it arrive at 22.45. Because they couldnt understand " why you can not hold the boy with you on the bed is just for 2 nights ?" So than they brought an almost broken baby box ... to figure as a bed. Than all hitechnology sometime usless (like the frige)... It was the worst 4* hotel we ever stay.
very convenient location, good room and breakfast reception could use some more staff to speed up check-in/out
Convenience. Ease of access to Amsterdam and highways to other locations. Artistic decor. Cleanliness. Dust under bed, spittle on wall, stains on floor, threadbare towels, missing wash cloths. Inattentive staff in bar and dining room. Overcharge for meals.
The Hotel was very nicely presented and the artwork and furniture were stunning, the room was beautiful. Just as the picture on the site. Free wireless internet and music on demand through the lcd telly were excellent too. The staff were quite abrupt, it seemed that anythign over and above what they normally offered as standard or they didn't charge for was a bit of a chre, it took us all day to get a cot for the baby we arrived with he nearly needed to sleep somewhere else, the cot was poorly made (a single tatty blanket and a untreated wood cot with bits missing causing it to be slightly dangerous) The breakfast was mediocre and expensuive, we also found the fittings in the breakfast room were poorly made as a chari fell off the wall whilst we were sitting on it, the high chair was unsuitable and dirty and the hotel was not keenly priced. A long walk to the trams and buses is required otherwise a taxi is 25EUR to the city All in all not a great stay. Would not recommend to a family visiting more suited to younger people with more tollerance for poor service.
Wireless network worked only for two days
The atmosphere and the relation staff-guest is perfect: very friendly! The plug didn't work well so i couldn't reload my phone. You should not put that much Pesto in your Margherita pizzas
This is the second time we have stayed in the Student Hotel in the past year and we have been very happy with our stay both times. We like the atmosphere in the hotel, and the food in the restaurant is very good. The rooms are very clean and spacious. We would definitely stay there again. The only issue we had was with the bartender. We were in the bar and at closing time the bartender came to tell us that he was closing. We felt like he was being rude, making hand gestures towards the door. Otherwise everyone else we spoke to were polite at all times.
The room was designed for one person but it was given to a couple. The bed felt a little small for us.
Great place! I would definitely stay here again.
I lovers how helpful the staff was, the location, décor, room amenities and location. I would definitely recommend for a solo traveler or young couples! The location in about a 15 minute bus ride from Amsterdam Central and in a quiet part of the city! I will most definitely stay there again when I visit Amsterdam again. Again I have to mention how friendly and helpful the staff is! Since the hotel is literally brand new, there was still noisy some construction and outfitting of rooms on my floor. But if you are gone during the day who cares!
Clean, Comfortable, really kind staff. First day aircondition of room was break down but next they change room immediately. There is no mini-bar in room. The Location is far to the city centre but transportation is easy. You can use tram and bus.
The hotel from the outside is awful but don't be put off, the reviews I had read varied but the hotel was excellent, its a 15 min tram ride away, but was so comfortable, clean and spacious, Great shower and breakfast was a great surprise, so glad I went with my choice and stayed here.
Very friendly service and was willing to print out my boarding passes if online booking was avaible with my airline. Provided anything I requested foir the room. Breakfast only, no other meals. Plus no bar facilities so not a full 3* hote and should not be advertised as such. In reality it is a Large B&B.Provision for Breakfast was inadequate for the no. Of guests leading to long delays in re-supply of food.
The bed and furniture was decent. The location was in the middle of nowhere, quite far from the city center, staffs had often problem communicating in English, the interior was shady.
Helpful chap on reception, good location for the Meervaart Theatre. A fair way from the centre, about 30 mins or so by bus.
The location of this hotel was good because it was a very quiet location near a beautiful lake with good and easy transport to city center and central train station with excellent breakfast that was free.
Everything was fine, nothing special. 15 min a way from the city center. For this price quiet nice.
Friendly & efficient services and staff.
Has to be the mattress it was soooooooooooo comfy....... Needs to be more variety in the restuarant as we werent bothered about having al carte wonted snacks............
Very clean and comfortable. A good value for money. Location is the only downfall but tram stations are close and downtown Amsterdam in a 20 minute team ride Location lacked. Not many restaurants or shops around. Not a good place if you're looking to go out at night, trams close early and the only way back is through bus or Uber. Maybe a Best Western night bus would be worth the investment.
It was clean and less noisy than in other hotels in the area. Area is another 'bonus' thing. Buses 64 and 69 in minutes will get you to Sloterdijk train station from which you can get to the Schiphol airport in 10 mins and it's easy to get to other cities as well from Sloterdijk. Downtown you can get by tram 7 or 14 or by bus 21. So this whole Slotermeelan area is awesome. Breakfast was rather poor, we ended up eating one kind of snack with bread and some coffee... I would suggest to have breakfast somewhere in town if you want to have some variety of choices.
Quiet location, close to public transportation stops Far away of center, minimal public facilities if any,
Although this hotel is outside of the main part of town, and there isn't much to explore in the immediate neighborhood, the location is a 5 minute walk to the tram (#2) that will take you directly into the city—all the way to Amsterdam Centraal. Nice garden area in the front for smoking. Nice new bathroom. Comfortable mattress. The common areas (hallways, etc) could use some love.
Good value for the money. Finding hotel location is a real challenge despite of its close proximity to highway.
the room was poor especially on comparison to others. it was also far from town
It was really cold in our room. Aircon (heat pump) don't worked, we informed staff about it, but nothing changed.
The manner in which the manager Celine dealt with our complaints. Very polite, honest, fair and above all professional I cannot understand why a lift that should facilitate all 4 floors only works for 1... the 4th.
The staff was excellent in trying to answer our questions. window-see above. shower-see above.
10 minutes from the city centre on the tram. Very reasonable price. Get what you pay for. Bathroom smelt due to damp. Beds were very old and could do with being replaced. When staying in amsterdam you have to pay a 5% tourist charge, this is added to your hotel bill.
Hotel is far from center -((
We found the breakfast to be very good. The toilet was not as clean as we would have liked. Also, it was quite far from the city center and sights.
Most of the rooms which had recently been re-decorated were very modern and clean. However the whole hotel appears to be going through a re-vamp. Poor menu in dining area - lack of choice. As we'd have happily ate there otherwise.
the vibe the way u can do ur own thing.
The rooms were really clean, the staff was polite and co-operative , overall a nice stay in this hotel The TV in the room was not working ,there was no fridge in the room and the breakfast was really expensive
When my taxi did not turn up to get me to the airport, they arranged another reasonably quickly. I needed to use an iron/ironing board and these were not available. Not the nicest of areas.
Free parking. Tram about 600 meters away went directly to Central station. the internet connection in my first room at the end of the hall was very poor. They moved to another room where then appeared to be stronger. However when I got into the room did tonight was also weak. I think signal was weak and cannot penetrate the cement. If I wanted internet I stood by the door.
We reserved airplane shutle bus. However, the shutle bus did not come and we pay more money to taxi to take our airplane
the staff competence and amability, the comfort. A great hotel but for distance from center breakfast could be better and distance from town (45 mn)
Easy to find, parking place, accessible by public transport. Good breakfast. I have had a room on the top floor near something like aircon ventilation. It was noisy all night long and very annoying. Hotel is not new and it starts to be visible. I have managed to live with it.
Parking availabilty Smoke free room however could smell smoke from hall way
Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Pretty far out. 19 stops on tram to Central Station. Almost end of line. Neighborhood is just apartments. Nothing interesting here.
helpful staff, close to airport that the 'double bed' was 2 single beds pushed together
the accommodation was good enough but there was no facility at the hotel to get a drink (alcoholic and non alcoholic) during the day, only at breakfast time and dinner time. as above
Almost everything. Good facilities, excellent accommodation. Noththing
Staff was professional and very helpful. Rooms were large and clean. Free Parking. Buying a transportation ticket at the reception made it easy for the transportation. Location is terrible. It is an 8 minute walk to the closest city transportation at a good pace and a 20 minute ride into town. If it is cold, it poses a problem. The night bus is inconsistant and the numbers changed without notice. We stood at the buis stop for 45 minutes in 28 degree F before we took a taxi (22 euro). (Not the hotels fault, but effects the overall stay).
Good location near bus stop, room and lobby clean and nice. Major water temperature issues in shower, restaurant options limited and too expensive.
It is really comfortable They should change the bed
The ease of the Airport. We were disappointed with the quality as compared with the price. The hotel had a lot of flies that kept going on the food and coffees.
close to hotel, great shuttle service breakfast was not fresh, very poor selection, no fresh juices
cleen, quet, nice very bad location, breakfest was not included (in 82 Eur/night!) for 4* forget about sauna, swimming pool...
Very warm welcome at reception No "comfortable" seating around the lounge area !
city maps and tourist guides near the reception.
The location is very good, very close to the airport and good shuttle service. Very good bar and restaurant with excellent food and good selection of drinks. Nice, comfortable rooms. Close to great walking, cycling, horse riding trails next to a lake. Did not try the local transport to the city centre, but hotel seems to be very close to main transport routes. No
very convinence to airport
Helpful, kind, polite staff who really enjoy people and helping you make the most of your stay. The AWESOME breakfast was quite expensive, but still worth the extra Euros.
Excellent location to Airport and close bus system to downtown. Friendly and informative staff. Good food
The shuttle bus was good but the quality of the hotel need improvement, especially that the room is too small
Quite reasonable rate For me, the towels didn't smell good.
Free wireless internet The bathroom, it was small and poor
We stay at this hotel in order to participate at the Amsterdam Marathon, the hotel was fairly close to transportation to the stadium or to the city centre. Hotel stuff was nice A big construction site around the hotel, it looks a bit messy but it will be a lot better once works are finished. The bathroom has only a shower and without cabin so everytime you take a shower there is water everywhere..
Cheap parking (6euro/24hrs) in gated lot. Easy to find from motorway. 5-7 minute walk to tram, or 20-30 minute walk through pleasant park to the area around the Rijksmuseum. Good option if you are driving and need a place to park the car, and don't need to stay in town center. We skipped the breakfast because it was 12euro each. Also, beer at the bar wasn't cheap.
Basic hotel on the tram line, 15 min to the Centrum. Breakfast was good with a good selection of hot and cold items. rooms are small but who cares since we only slept there
desk staff where very nice and always helpful and very funny... quiet location, very clean and well presented hotel and staff. taxi available on request at cheaper rates via the hotel desk. would use hotel again. a little too far from city centre but used the trams which was very easy, so not a big problem. beware of city centre taxi cabs for high prices
The location was not too bad but the environment was awful
I liked the free internet and the room. The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. I also liked their awareness of the environment and efforts to be green. I did not like how the information book in the room was inaccurate in regards to the restaurant's opening hours. This caused us to miss three separate meals that we had planned on having in the hotel restaurant had it actually been open when it said it would be. In addition, the hotel staff are were not helpful in recommending anywhere else to eat (the hotel isn't located close to anything, really).
The location is pretty bad. Although you can use the tram to reach the hotel, you still have to walk for a big portion of the road, go under a bridge, through a construction area, and dirty streets. Also there is poor visibility on the hotel location, so you might get lost a bit on your way to reach there.
The breakfast in the hotel was very good. A broken fire door in the corridor outside my room loudly slammed shut every time someone used it. This kept me awake at night and woke me early in the morning. This should have been repaired as a matter of priority. The was no separate room or lock up to keep luggage. This is a useful service for those on weekend trips who wish to make the most of a few hours before their onward journey.
medium size room and bathroom tram and bus stop nearby poor breakfast, not too close to city center, noisy neighborhood
the bed was comfortable I didn't like the area
Nothing. Worst hotel I have ever been to. I will never go back to this hotel. It was dirty and I had an awful stay
Value for money. Free internet acces. Room very small but considering price no complaints.
breakfast and always opened Window was little bit broken, bathroom floor not cleaned perfectly and litle bit of noise on the street. But those are small things, nothing important for me.
Location is very good in close proximity to shopping malls There is no Air conditioning/cooling device in the room. Internet access in the rooms could be a good plus point. Restaurant does not serve lunch and dinner
Room very small but clean Location was not good. More suited to students and backpackers than tourists
It was low-cost and on a conventient tram/bus line.
value for money the walls because you could heard all the noises from the next rooms
very good breakfast, even that it is cold buffet, it was rich the check in has to be until 10 pm, as the hotel is quite far from the center it would be easier if they would gurantee late check in
