Hotel staff polite friendly and very knowledgable ,cleanliness of hotel was excellent all in all an excellent hotel
Excellent room, very good sauna. Only one treadmill in fitness center.
Clean spacious quiet room. Polite staff. Will be staying here again when I need to be back in that part of Amsterdam.
This hotel is very close to everything. Conveniently located near Centraal station- the tourist and transport hub. Segway, bike shop and bike parking at hotel is a plus. Hotel itself is very modern- spacious, and boutique-like with friendly multi-lingual staff. Fitness and spa center are superb compared to 4 or 5 star hotels we've stayed in this summer elsewhere in Europe. Excellent restaurant menu. Main asset: the staff. Internet service was intermittent during the week (hotel gave us credit back though). Cruise ship blares horn in the morning. Restaurant service could use some help.
We couldn't reach the hotel very well due to bad instructions. That was caused by de uitmarkt
Hotel rooms are great and some of them has a great sea view. It's not in walking distance from city centre, transportation costs increase.
nothing worth mentioning , the hotel was a standard hotel they dont allow smoking , rates are high , staff very unhelpful
Very nice room, modern and confortable. Free internet WIFI, computer & intenet at lobby, fitnesscenter, sauna and Shuttle to the station. Suggestions: more music channels and radio stations.
I chose the wrong date and they were very unhelpful with helping me change it around.
Location and price.
Unfortunately the hotel is next door to a city music facility and there were extremely loud pounding rave concerts from 9 pm until 6 am the next day. Despite being 15 floors above, the super loud base beat still penetrated the room until 6 am. Nothing the hotel could do but would advise avoiding Friday and Saturday nights if possible. Very close to a tram station for transportation to Centraal Station. Buy the 24 or 36 hour tram pass and once you learn the routes hop on and off at your pleasure.
Terrific staff, lovely views of the river. Good location.
1) Nearby tram 2) Nearby supermarkets, bakeries, for your breakfast and lunch 3) Free parking of your car in the streets on Sundays 4) Parking your car in the nearby IJburg parking beneath IJburg small shopping centre (just few meters away from the hotel) only costs 5 euro a day! 5) Free mini-bar (2 bottles of beer & 2 cans of soda) 6) Nice view on IJburg waterfront 7) Only 20 minutes to get to city centre Amsterdam by tram 8) Trams go back and forth frequently 9) IJburg beach just on walking distance 1) Halls are bit smelly 2) Finding your room could by as walking in a labyrinth, depending on where your room is located in the building 3) Carpets in the hall bit worn out 4) Depending on your room, beds can be small 5) Photo show slippers, but in real no slippers are provided 6) Worn out bathrobes 7) Last tram back to IJburg leaves central station at 00:40, all days 8) Bit hard to find the doorbell of the hotel, you need to ring since door to builing is always closed.
Great view. Long way from town but close to tram.
Staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms to suit all budgets. Good restaurant open from 7am to 1am daily. Set on the waterside with easy access to trams etc. which helps, as it is approx 2.5kms from the city center. Only one complaint really and that is there was no wardrobe space or drawers for packing your clothes away in
location, caracter lack of integrated bathroom
The staff spoke English very well and were very friendly. The location was right along a little convenient strip that had a grocery store and restaurant. It was about a 30 min walk into the heart of Amsterdam which was far enough to stay peaceful and close enough to do everything we wanted. The room was very large and had an interesting design to it. I'd stay here again. With the room being as large as it was, felt a little empty. The furniture was interesting to look at but felt a little cheap. The matress was uncomfortable for both me and my friend.
close to tram stations no wardrobes
The hand-squeezed grapefruit juice in the breakfast buffet Having to use a key to get into the adjacent toilet plus handwashing basin was an inconvenience
Room was excellent - we stayed in room 221 and it was lovely Only comment would be that it was annoying not having a door on the shower - this meant that all four of us had to get up when someone wanted a shower, since the shower was facing the bed
The breakfast, the starsystem, the rate, the proximity of trams, the design. Common shower on fifth floor too small and not well ventilated, drainage was blocked too.
cultural ambient and facilities.
Big comfortable bed with nice pillows, spacy room, waterpressure in the shower, view on the water, quiet room (we were on the topfloor) toilet in the middle of the room, cheap furniture, windows could only be opened a small part, curtains too light so too much daylight in the morning, shower too small and too dark, noicy corridors
Very interesting and attractive building
The building and ease to get there. The food was not good. Tough and took a long time to get.
Very nice host. Very convenient public transportation to city center. Very nice room.
Good location. Owners very nice, helpful and obliging. Nicely prepared and presented tasty breakfast Would have been nice to have a chair in the room and a light next to the bed.
1) The fact that although it was not right in Amsterdam City Center, we could take a tram and be there in about 5 - 8 minutes. 2) The host and hostess were gracious as well as fascinating, and we learned a bit about Dutch culture from them. 3) There was an excellent casual restaurant only a block away. 4) Plenty of parking. 5) A good library with comfy chairs for reading. 5) A good value.
Location is perfect. 4 years ago it was the sea!!! nothing
Everything was great, but lack of bathrooms doors surprized a lot. There is a great library, each room is unique. Lovely really helpfull hosts!
excellent...quiet neighborhood, spacious & comfortable room, friendly & respectful owners and wonderful breakfast!! would easily recommend to others.
allowed to keep my bags there after checking out, and come back for them before leaving, and also the early morning check in time!
Nice owners, spacious room, good connection to the center of Amsterdam (day and night), quiet and safe neighborhood..... nicely style and design.....
Beautiful house, great design, very comfortable (comfy beds, spacious room), felt just so relaxed:-) There is everything you need (towels, hair dryer, heating...) We could hear running water and flushing from the room next to ours.
The familiar environtment and respect no
inexpensive, very friendly and helpful staff; great locker system (2€ / 24h; you can open/close your locker as many times as you want; no key that one can lose, only code) Snoring people in my 6-bed-room; Breakfast could be a little more healthy
The hostel is fairly new. The facilities were clean and attractive. The staff is very inefficient and acts as though they have something better to be doing that taking care of their customers. Since the hostel is new, many of the listed services are still unavailable (namely Internet access). Electrical outlets are conspicuosly absent from the rooms. So if you need to charge any electronics, be prepared to do watch them charge in the hall. Location was pretty out of the way, but not band on bike or tram.
It is a very clean hotel It is very noisy at night. i stayed Saterday night
Clean, very good decoration, delicious food. It is cheap but the quality is very high. Nothing
good position in Amsterdam, inexpensive price I can find , good breakfast, but terrible coffee
This is a very new hotel but I was impressed by how quickly they had most services up and running. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast included a great range of food in a modern and efficient facility. The beds were comfortable and the bar was very reasonable too! There is a need to travel by tram into the city. Due to a design problem the floor of the shower encouraged water to settle by the door! This is being rectified I was told.
Clean, bright, breakfast included. What else do you want for the low price you paid? Yes, nothing exceptional, but nothing really bad. There is a thing i didn't like at all, and it's location. If you look at the map you might thing it's ok, but we failed to find it twice (first time police officers showed us the road, second time - we catched the taxi). The stuff was also polite, but nothing more - in Amsterdam I'm used to much more friendly approach.
They allowed my group to stay in the same room which was nice, breakfast included was a bonus, very clean and safe looking as first time ive stayed in a hostel which i feared before because of the movies! Was a little bit far out from the centre thou
Breakfast, temperature,cleanliness, comfort,staff behaviour
It´s close to downtown and the tram stop is only a minute away. The room was clean and the stuff friendly. We also liked the breakfast. The price could be lower - we stayed in a similar hostel in Berlin and paid 13 EUR per night with breakfast.
