As the third Holland America ship to bear its name, Holland America’s MS Amsterdam has been bathed in history since its launch in the year 2000. With its grand Planeto Astrolabium, a specially-commissioned celestial sculpture, the ship certainly looks impressive, while its refurbishment this year means it’s been re-outfitted with a classy, modern interior. At capacity, the Amsterdam holds 1,380 passengers and 647 crew, allowing for a lively, convivial atmosphere. The Amsterdam’s most notable route has to be the Grand World Voyage, taking travelers on an unforgettable trip that spans a range of countries, including Vietnam, Singapore and Madagascar. Stopping at Nosy Be, Madagascar is the perfect opportunity to experience the island’s unique fauna and flora, while a visit to the markets of Hong Kong should also be on everyone’s itinerary. Aboard ship, travelers can expect to be entertained and want for nothing. At mealtimes, MS Amsterdam caters for people craving a casual fast-food lunch or those in the mood for a more luxurious fine-dining experience. In terms of activities, BBC Earth Experiences allow passengers to discover nature through films and shows, suitable for both adults and children. To relax, travelers can visit the Greenhouse Spa, try wine tasting or stop by the casino. All cabins on board are spacious and comfortable, offering generous facilities even on the lower end of the price range, so passengers can relax in comfort. There are three classes of suites - Pinnacle, Neptune and Vista - while the ultra-luxury Lanai stateroom is new for 2018. Ocean-view and interior staterooms are also available.
