About Zov's Anaheim

Legendary Orange County chef and restaurateur Zov Karamardian has opened the doors to her newest restaurant, Zov"s Anaheim, located on the corner of Katella and State College. The 130-seat restaurant serves a menu of Mediterranean-inspired cuisine including several flatbreads or "Pitzas," Greek Shrimp Salad, Spiced Lamb Burger and Sumac-Roasted Sea Bass. The stylishly decorated entry leads to a welcoming and elegant bar that offers a local micro-brew beer selection, fine wines and several specialty craft cocktails. The two adjacent interior dining rooms are perfect for large and small parties. Just outside, the patio integrates seamlessly with the interior space and offers ample seating along with a fire pit and large flat-screen TVs. “Lunch at Zov’s” has always been the phrase used by the OC Power Lunch community looking for upscale cuisine in a comfortable environment. Zov’s offers a unique happy hour and free corkage Sunday and Monday evenings.

Dinned there on Valentines da. We arrived early and they had no problem seating us. Nice quiet and cozy place. It was not overly crowded and the service was slow at the start, but picked up after they got more arriving guests. Interesting menu. Plus point is that they did not try to rush out after finishing dinner. We ordered a bottle of wine and chatted and finished our wine at our own pace. We appreciated that. We will try this place again in the future.

The food here is very enjoyable. I especially like the chicken nachos and angel hair pasta, both with a Mediterranean twist. We were there to celebrate a birthday which was in the reservation, yet not one mention by any of the wait staff. The attitude of the waiter was lacking, and there was no attention to detail aside from trying upsell with more drinks and dessert. Oh, the dessert was delicious as well. The chocolate sundae and banana pie amazing!

Bunny (the manager) runs a nice restaurant and went out of her way to personally make my associates feel special. She and her staff were welcoming and fun. The food is delicious and consistently good. I would describe it as mediterranean-fusion. I've tried the lamb burger and the kebobs and was more than satisfied in each case with the flavors, preparation and portions. My fellow diners also enjoyed their meals with only positive comments. The atmosphere is quiet enough for conversation. There is covered parking next to Zov's that is free with validation.

Zov's Anaheim is a great place for a birthday dinner. I have also dined at Zov's in Irvine/Tustin area. Food is good, service the best, beer & wine selection are very good. \n\nMy only complaint goes to OpenTable. Why are you not crediting me any points for making my reservations on your OpenTable website? If this is the case I'll just c all Zov's to make reservations.

Went to Zov's Kitchen before a concert at Honda Center, warm cozy modern decor and ambiance. Great service: had several appetizers to share, great glass of wine and wonderful banana cream desert. then took an Uber to the concert, best way to go there & back since we were staying at a hotel near Disneyland. We'd eat there again when back in that part of town.

My girlfriend and I selected this location of Zov's because we were going to an event at the Honda Center that started at 7:30. We arrived at 5 for our reservation and had a leisurely dinner that finished around 6:30 and gave us time to drive to the Honda Center and wait in line for parking (sold out event). We have eaten at other Zov's and this one was as good as the others.\n\nWe split a meal with the mezze and the pork chops entree. We selected two items - olives and toubouleh (sp?) for the mezze. The pork chop entree was served on two plates and the portion was easily enough for two with mashed potatoes and vegetable. \n\nWe both thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will return to this location for another event at the Honda Center. In the interim, we will visit Zov's in Newport Coast which is closer to where we live.

Food is always good at Zov's., and the wait staff is professional and pleasant. Great ambience for small groups. If it were more 'family oriented' we wouldn't go-- there are enough restaurants like that. We go for ambience and a fine dining experience.\n\nThe online menu should reflect offerings at the different restaurants, however. We brought a couple friend of ours who had looked at the online menu in advance and chosen their entrees. Imagine How embarrassed and disappointed we were that neither one of their choices were available at Anaheim! A good waitress would have offered some comparable choices, but she didn't. I'm wondering if she even expressed the incident to the manager.

We drive 2 hours from Studio City for a concert at the Grove and ate here first. We were frazzled and had kids with us. Zov's went above and beyond for us and we quickly forgot about our 20mph crawl from the valley. I can't wait for another reason to eat here! The service was amazing - attentive, informative, flexible and fun. The food was perfect and the signature drinks were some of the best I've had in a long time. If they had an LA location, we'd be regulars.

To be honest it was just okay. We have been there several times when it was better. The rotisserie chicken was over cooked, almost looked blackened. I couldn't eat the leg or wing because the meat was like leather. But the meat underneath in the breast was good. Mashed potatoes and spinach were very good. Everyone else like their meals, pork chops and sand dabs. We are old and we stayed so long that we all had a hard time getting out of the booth. Next time we will sit at a table.Found it hard to get out of the booth because of the step down and the way the seat is designed. \n\nWe will be back to try again!

Food was pretty good with friendly, albeit inexperienced service. This restaurant definitely needs to do something about the noise. It's not the music, it's the echo chamber effect of the restaurant that tends to amplify the volume of it's patrons voices many times over. You can barely hear your waiter and others at your table. A little investment in some appropriate sound absorption material would go a long way towards improving the dining experience.

This was our first time in- a group of 4 traveling for work. We found Zov's on OT and took a cab over. We made the perilous mistake of sitting outside where our server struggled mercilessly to serve the whole patio while several other servers hung out in our view at the bar. Our meal for 4 took over 3 hours. Food was really good, but the frustrating experience wasn't worth it.

The restaurant was far from full most likely due to the rain. The maitre de/manager seated us immediately. The order was taken by a waitress in training and her mentor. We requested bread and olive oil. It took a while before the rolls made it to the table while the 'pair' was attending to another table. The olive oil never was brought to the table. Though the restaurant had many open tables we were blessed by having a table of four very boisterous women placed in the booth behind us which required us to raise our level of conversation in order to be heard.\r\nThe food was served in a reasonable period of time. We have had the same dishes at other Zov\r\nlocations which we found preferable. The manager did come to the table and was apologetic.\r\nWe will continue to go to Zov's, but definitely not this location.

Use caution when ordering wine here. We ordered a bottle of wine and realized after we had tasted it that we had been served an inferior vintage. Restaurants have a responsibility to notify their guests when a listed wine is unavailable. Zov's staff waited for us to call attention to the error, although they ultimately took the bottle off our bill. \n\nI have been a Zov's customer for years and was surprised at this incident. Very unlike them, and I hope they will take the time to retrain their staff. We'll give them another chance, but probably not at this location again.

My wife and I were visiting from out of town and looking for a local place not far from Disney. We found Zov's on the map and scouting out the menu.\n\nWe had reservations but when we arrived there were only a few other couples. We were both surprised that such a nice looking place wasn't busier. We sat outside and ordered some drinks off the menu. The patio seemed modern and the seating was comfortable. The fireplace was a nice touch since it was a bit cool. The drinks came quickly and were both unique and delicious.\n\nWe shared an appetizer and then I had a burger and my wife the chicken pita. The burger was really good and bursting with flavor. I wasn't super hungry but it was almost too much to eat. My wife liked her chicken pita, but it seemed pretty basic. For sides we had fries and green beans. The fries were good but could have done without so much pepper. The green beans were really good.\n\nOverall we really liked Zov's and would definitely go back. The one thing we couldn't figure out is why it wasn't busier. We know it is near where the Angels play so maybe it's busier on game nights.

Husband had the sausage with pasta that he enjoyed . The flavor of the fennel in the sausage was very yummy and the pasta tasted homemade. We actually ate at the bar and enjoyed some drinks on the happy hour menu (3-6PM), added bonus. It pains me to pan a Zov restaurant, because I've been a frequent diner at the Tustin location for years. But Zov's Anaheim,,despite an inviting menu with a few items not on her other menu, left me cold. \n\nDecor - she should fire the designer. Evening lighting is both dim and yet somehow utilitarian, like an office with poor fluorescents. The small fixtures cast an uninviting light onto tables. Tableware is uninspiring, and overall if feels like you're eating at a boring corporate cafeteria. Or maybe in a hospital waiting room. Not at all the bright warm feel of Tustin. \n\nDrinks are pricey, but after dropping our meals off, the waiter never returned to check on us (Saturday night - plenty of empty tables), so he missed the sale of 2 glasses of wine ($10 and up each). I DID appreciate the thoughtfulness of the host in immediately moving us from the back room with the loud drunks without having to ask him to do that. \n\nDirty fries sound good, but the cheese was a kind of thin pool with lukewarm fries. The lamb pizza was very good - spicy , with a thin crispy crust. The burger was cooked as requested. \n\nWith the ugly lighting and slow service, and no inviting view of luscious desserts, and entrees done better overall elsewhere, we didn't bother to get dessert. I'll stick to the Tustin location, too.

This restaurant was such a great find. It's by Angel's stadium and was really quiet without a game in town. The drinks are so-so - a little too sugary. But the food was GREAT. Our top recommendation is the lamb ragu. It has crispy carrots and celery that provide a nice crunchy contrast to the creamy ragu. The portions are big - two of us split a salad, the mac 'n' cheese, and the ragu and there was plenty left over. I would definitely eat there again! Short cab ride from Disneyland.

It was our second visit to Zov's Anaheim. The calamari appetizer was good. For the entree I ordered the same thing I had before, salmon on a bed of spinach. Excellent again, except it came cold. Had to go into the kitchen to tell someone it was cold, but once it came back, it was delicious. My husband ordered the Gorgonzola burger with bacon. Not so good. The meat was tough and chewy and the bacon was so tough he couldn't eat it. His salad was quite good, however. The service was strange as they disappeared, but the waiter was training someone so seemed more occupied with this than our table even though we were the only ones in the room for a good part of the time until another party came in later. Even though I really like this salmon dish, we are not likely to return.

Great food! I had the lamb burger, it was delicious.\n\nHowever, I do have one complaint. Your wine service for wines by the glass is not good at all. I tried two different wines, both were off (spoiled) and were served at temperatures that were too warm. In talking with your manager, I believe you're storing the red wines at room temperature once opened which is a big mistake. The rule of thumb of storing red wine at room temperature was established in Europe where the climate is much cooler than Southern California. Therefore, my suggestion is that your red wines by the glass be refrigerated after opening. There's no problem with red wine that is too cold (it will warm up naturally in the glass), but if it is too warm and/or spoiled, there's no way to salvage the situation.

If I had one complaint it would be that the 'ridiculous' dessert was really messy to eat. The jar slides around on the dish and you end up all sticky. It tastes great but I wouldn't order it again. The Broken banana (?) dessert was amazing.

First impression. Nice casual dining. \nMale servers and male host/manager was excellent. Front of house, two women, not so much. Not nice at all. \n\nHad colleagues and customer running late (10-15 min)and one said 'we had to be out by 8 because she had another party coming' (blonde)\n\nWhen other guests came in, we moved to a booth because the woman sat us at a big table. The other (brown hair glasses) when we were moved said we couldn't sit their because it was reserved even though the restaurant was practically empty and it was only 6:15. \n\nFood was great. Servers and male host excellent.

Although away from the frantic pace of the Disney resort district, close enough to be convenient to those staying in the area but who want to get away. Great service although the restaurant was slow. Food was just average.

Brought of of town guests here during the recent NAMM show and was very impressed with the atmosphere, food, and the knowledgeable staff! This little gem in 1.5 miles away from the Anaheim Convention Center but felt like miles and miles away from the crowds that line Katella Ave. \n\nMust haves include the Brussels and Bacon for an appetizer and the Sumac Roasted SeaBass for dinner. \n\nDessert is in a category of its own here!! The Key Lime Crunch is a fun take on the traditional pie and the Ridiculous Sundae is just that- ridiculously, insanely, delicious!!\n\nThis will become a yearly NAMM Show tradition!!

Ulyesses was our server and he was wonderful! I recommend the Dirty Fries to begin with. My friend was unsure about an ingredient so the chef allowed my friend to sample some of the chicken before hand and she loved it. It wasn't too busy and the cocktails were delicious.

there was no one in the restaurant at 6:45 pm, that was my first clue. The bar had patrons watching sports and cheering loudly. Not what I was expecting from Zov's. The menu seemed like pub fare and nothing sounded good. We left.

we sat at the bar before a ball game, and have been to Zov's other locations before.\n\nThe food was very good. I would not return here for drinks, though. We watched all of them being made, and the bartender used very little liquor, then filled the glasses up with ice and water to compensate. our drinks were very weak. When we asked for it to be fixed, we were charged again.

Overall it was a good experience, however, my husband ordered his kabobs rare and they were served medium well. In addition I ordered my salad w/ NO dressing and it was served drenched w/ the dressing . Server although nice didn't offer to correct it! With so many choices for dining I would have thought they would care more about the details ?

Dining out with a friend who is vegetarian was easy. While many--even most--options at Zov's feature meat, there were plenty of vegetarian options for us, as well. We shared an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert between three of us and it was just perfect.

Have always loved Zov's, and was so happy when she opened a place a little closer to home. We had great food and the service was stellar. For appetizers we shared the roasted brussel sprouts and each had the gorgonzola nueske burger. The bartender's Red Sangria - the perfect drink! Blend of Red wine, freshly muddled fruit, fresh juice, and club soda. I can't wait to back and try the fried cauliflower with chives, preserved lemon gremolata, roasted pepper aioli! Make sure you ask for Hector - by far one of the best servers!

Food was good, service was good, ambiance was good. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the place...just not very memorable. I might go back if I was going to a show at the Pond or Angels stadium. But frankly there was nothing that really knocked my socks off to make a special drive to Anaheim or to warrant the pricey meal.

We have been many times and plan to come back. The food is delicious. But this was a very off night for service. And then our order wasn't exactly correct. But they tried to make it up to us with dessert. So I give them credit for that. I just hope it doesn't happen again. Like I said, we will go back. We really like this restaurant and love their food

Don't go to this place if you are hungry. We waited more than 45 minutes for our meal to arrive. This was after I complained to our server. Other people that came in 20 minutes after us were already served as we continued to wait. We made the mistake of ordering desert too and that was just as time consuming. It probably took a 1/2 hour to get to us. Again the table next to us ordered desert and they had theirs within 15 minutes. The manager came over because I assumed the server knew that we weren't happy. I expressed our concerns to him and he said he would check into it. He never came back to our table. On the way out the manager was standing in front talking to some of the staff and We told him we would never be back. His response was 'Have a nice Evening'. We will never recommend this place to any one.

I like the convenient location- the easy valet, but the restaurant is small and noisy. The guys in our group had the lamb burgers with freach frys and really enjoyed it. My daughter and I shared the calamari which was flavorless and a pizza again nothing notable. As a family we shared two sides - cauliflower which was the best thing on thing served and the spinach which was average.\n\nCan't say I'd recommend Zovs but with limited sit down restauarnts in the area close to Honda Center we may be back.

This is a great spot to get appetizers, drinks and/or dinner. Zov is my friend's aunt, and she has run a successful eatery in Tustin for the past 30 years. There are not a lot of restaurants near the Anaheim Convention center so I was thrilled to find this place. I took clients there the first night I was in town. Zov's has very tasty food and would be a great spot for a group of 4-6 persons. However, I would not recommend for a larger party. In spite of reservations for a party of 13, the restaurant set up separate tables (10 + 3) which was not conducive this dinner group). They were willing to move a table and get us into one table which worked nicely, however, it took a while to get plates, silverware etc. When we asked for 2 orders of hummus (one for each end of the table), they brought out the 2 orders on one plate (which meant passing around - awkward). the server Herb, was very friendly and respectful, but it was obvious that he had many other tables and service was slow (and small things forgotten). Roger the manager was also helpful in trying to get our group dinner successfully underway. Again, the food was very good and people were satisfied with their selections (and the desserts were huge!). One other note, since the restaurant is not near the conventions center, cabs were a bit hard to come by in leaving the restaurant. Also, because the restaurant is relatively new, several guests reported difficulty in finding it, but ultimately they did and we had a good event.

Started with the mixed plate of three dips with pita. Had not had that on the table three minutes before our entrees came out. Felt very rushed. Food was all very good. Service was adequate but not outstanding. It was too loud to even carry on a conversation with the person sitting next to you.
