Perfect location for us next to canal. Restaurant next door. Full amenities easy and scenic walk away in Ancy-le-franc.
Pros: Everything was perfect. This place was our last stop after a long journey. The location of the hotel, the owner, the pool and attentively prepared breakfast.....everything made us happy in this place. Thank you for the great hospitality...
Pros: The quality of the accomodation was excellent. It was also the cleanest place I have ever stayed, I would book again if I was ever in the area.

Pros: Gorgeous property and lovely hosts! We had such a fabulous stay - on our week long bike trip along the Burgundy Canal this was our favorite hotel. It has been recently renovated with high end touches and a lot of charm. We enjoyed exploring the historic property and having a picnic on one of the many inviting picnic tables. A very nice kitchen and fridge available for guests to use. The hosts were extremely receptive when we had questions or needed help. They even helped me when I left something at the hotel! It is really a must on any trip to Burgundy. Ancy- le -Franc is a spectacular town and was one of the highlights of our trip!
Cons: No concerns, wish we could have stayed longer.

Pros: Perfect location for cycling the Burgundy canal. Super food . Friendly and accommodating hosts
Pros: Beautiful location. Excellent parking facilities. Room great. Cuisine, especially, salad truly "Home" excellent. Friendly (dog, Roulette, made great friends with our dog). Great country walks. Lovely river nearby.
Cons: Stairs to room a little difficult to negotiate to room. OK if you are able bodied. Remember to take a spare pair of shoes/boots for walking in countryside. People in this area not so good at cleaning up after their dog! Petit Calin would do well to install a "dog dunny". However, 2 or 3 dog bins in village. We stayed in a B&B in UK and they had a "doggy en-suite" outside. GREAT IDEA for all pet friendly hotels/B&B's. Helps them and us doggy owners.
Pros: The owner was friendly and welcoming, the rooms were big and very clean. We ate our (very delicious) evening meal on the outdoor terrace with a lovely view over the village. Breakfast was excellent too.
Cons: It was all good!
Pros: Beautiful accommodation. Strong hot shower. Quiet, calm location j
Pros: Lovely place to stay. Quiet and good meal at restaurant. Friendly welcome.
Pros: Great food, perfect host, clean room and the most idealic setting you can imagine
Pros: Really good standard all round and owner/chef produced superb meals
Cons: The weather..that does not change my views though
Pros: Lovely, peaceful location in a sleepy French village. Typically French feel, home-cooking, nice friendly atmosphere. Very comfortable room and good breakfast.
Cons: All good.
Pros: Very cozy and comfortable room in lovely French quite village. Parking available, very easy to find, a lot of nature around! Also very nice breakfast in the morning!
Pros: Very pleasant hosts and a good evening meal and breakfast on site. Very quiet location in a small village by the river close to top-ranking Burgundy chateaux.
Cons: The bedroom was large but the bathroom, while only for us, was outside across a passageway and next to another room which had a family with children in it who were popping in and out every few minutes, so it was not very private. To access the hotel from the parking spaces involved climbing some 20+ steps which might be an issue for some older people.
With a stay at La Grande Vèvre in Gigny, you'll be 12 mi (19.3 km) from Chateau de Tanlay and 12.6 mi (20.3 km) from Chateau d'Ancy-le-Franc. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Wonderful breakfast with an array of local cheeses and home made jams, yogurts fabulous bread etc. Could not be faulted. Madame was knowledgeable about the history of the local area and we enjoyed our conversation.
Cons: The bed! I know it’s France but really it was not at all comfortable or long enough. It is an isolated ancient farmstead which is a bit run down. WiFi in room did not work. The fact that the nearest place to eat was 10 km away and the food, when we went there, was dreadful.
Pros: The room was wonderful , bed comfortable with a table and sofa as well. The window opened onto a view over the fields. It was very peaceful, with just the birds in the background. We were able to put our motorbikes under cover. Breakfast was great with a selection of local cheese and homemade jams

When you stay at Hôtel-restaurant de l'Ecluse 79 in Chassignelles, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Chateau d'Ancy-le-Franc.
Pros: Such friendly staff especially the owner and her husband. The evening meal by the river was fantastic. Fine dining. The flavours were superb. There was no hurry to eat your meal and we were made to feel relaxed from the moment we arrived. The hotel so close to the canal which aloud us to walk for a couple of miles along it the next day. The bed was so comfortable I did not want to leave. I'm looking to book for s long weekend before the end of the year. Great for walkers, cycling and joggers.
Cons: I can't wait to go back. So relaxing.
Pros: Beautiful location overlooking the canal. Nice walking and biking from the doorstep.
Cons: Having been told the hotel did not accept guests until 18:00 we waited until 18:10 and tried to check in. The hotel was dark and gloomy, all lights out. The front door was locked and there was no response to our knocking. Finally had to phone the hotel and indeed someone was there. We got a very frosty reception. The owner was clearly not happy to be disturbed. Also, For the first time ever found a used towel and soap in the shower stall!!
Pros: Great location, restaurant, comfortable - very nice staff
Cons: We had an attic sort of room- even with a fan it was hot and no view
Pros: our second visit to De la Ecluse. Erica made us feel so welcome. There was a variety of food to chose from on the menu and she spent time explaining the different meals. we again enjoy the food. I'd say it's fine dining. The rooms were comfortable. it's was lovely to sit outside by the canal eating and drinking. The hotel is in a beautiful spot to the go walking or cycling. would highly recommend this hotel and will certainly be back for a third years. Thsnk you Erica and husband for a wonderful stay.
Cons: only an observation. I slipped in the bathroom when the floor got wet. could do with a protective mat on floor other than bath mat.
Pros: Friendly staff and owner. Food fine when finally arrived. Cheerful girl serving at dinner. Good bread and preserves at breakfast. Comfortable bed and quiet night after the birthday party guests had left. Clean rooms. Very convenient for a visiting Chateau fancy me Franc, a Renaissance masterpiece.
Cons: The hotel really needs refurbishing, aĺl a little tired. Quite an unpleasant smell in the ground floor room, which was very basically furnished. Very long wait for dinner, service only available in bar due to function in main restaurant.
Pros: Great hosts! Wonderful dinner and breakfast!
Pros: The owners very nice and the restaurant food was great
Cons: The room was upstairs and very hot and humid. We only stayed one night instead of three. If the room was much cooler that would have made a difference. The owners were very understanding why we did not stay longer. They have rooms downstairs, but were booked. We also wanted to be closer to Lyon
Pros: Location suited us very well. Perfectly located on the canal. Outside dining, weather permitting, in shade of horse-chestnut trees alongside canal. Room fine. Very good value for money
Cons: Organisation/management seemed somewhat haphazard. Never quite sure when staff were about,, nor when bar was open. Restaurant food unexceptional, but not expensive, so acceptable. The limited menu hardly changes from day to day so becomes monotonous after a day or two.. However this is understandable - most guests are in transit along the canal and stay for just one night - so for the majority of guests it doesn't represent a problem. But we stayed for 6 nights
Pros: Wonderful live music
Cons: The hotel did not open until 6pm.
Pros: Meal was ok not great. Nice starter, over cooked pork for main.
