Really nice place. Rooms were bigger than we expected - among the biggest rooms we found in Germany. Owner was very nice and helpful. She even found us a room in another town when we showed up a day early and she had no extra rooms. Excellent, huge breakfast as well.
We had one triple and one double room for our family of six (one child was free). The rooms were huge! The rooms were nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Although the hotel was family-friendly, it was still very quiet and relaxing. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and nutritious. Although the innkeeper did not speak a lot of English, he was very friendly and helpful. Overall, out experience exceeded our expectations.
I liked the fact that it was off the tourist track..it was family run friendly. Didn't serve meals in the evening
very nice and traditional, quiet, very good breakfast, staff very kind.
Comfortable room, location Wi-Fi coverage signal was quite weak, but this was not a huge problem for me.
Lovely hotel with lovely rooms and excellent breakfast. Just what we were looking for, and walking distance to Kloster Andechs. Not their fault but our German is poor and their English was too. It felt difficult trying to communicate at times, but not a real problem.
we arrived very late but they waited for us way after checkin time. hotel was very clean, very cute, staff extremelly friendly, breakfast superb. exceptional value for money. will go back for sure. ... i would have loved to stay longer...
Large room, comfortable bed.
If you are going to Andechs Kloster this is a very nice hotel to stay. We enjoyed it.
The very best place in this catagory that we've stayed...rooms are each different and beautiful, baths large, food fabulous, really a beautiful place.... no
Great food frindly staff. Excellent English. Close to the must see destination of Kloster Andechs. No hot water one day but staff very apologetic and fixed straight away. Got a free beer as compensation
Beautiful Bavarian house with a great restaurant. We were surprised how expensive the taxis were! We took the train from Munich (19euro) then the taxi to Der Obere was 16euro. To go to Andechs brewery and back was another 25euro r/t. Then a taxi back to the train station was 15. We should have rented a car!
The staff helpfullness, guest-friendly attitude, very clean and homey environment, attention to detail throughout the premises , the cozy and neat ambience at the restaurant, the great food, great breakfast including freshly cooked eggs and fresh croissants/ brezels , the super quiet green surroundings . None.( Parking may be a problem at busy times/periods - and wifi is not working properly throughout the premises and rooms, works just in some areas , but ok and free).
Not a bad place to stay, room was nice, staff and location ok. Need a gps to find in the dark
Very nice typical bavarian place. Hospitable and pleasant staff. Large and clean. Good bavarian dinner. A place to stay !
The staffs are kind and facility is good and clean. but, They wanted payment in cash only. Because of this, I went to bank to draw money!!!!!!!!!!
We enjoyed Garbrille's enthusiastic approach to her job as owner and operator of the Romantic VIlla. Her recommendations were spot on. Breakfast was wonderful. We had a private, separate apartment. The only flaw was that the sinks and shower where on the floor with the bedroom, but the toilet was a flight of stairs down. It was a minor inconvenience.
friendly atmosphere, very helpfull stuff,
Our room, called The Library, looked brand new. The heavy dark wood furnishings, the tile floor, the well-appointed bathroom were all impeccable. They used all the best materials. In summary: beautiful and relaxing. The only thing the hotel could improve upon is signage. The name on the building is in stylized handwriting. I was just a house away while trying to find it, and thought it was only a restaurant...which it is, on the first floor.
nice hotel, with character and in good location thought that the options for breakfast were limited. there was not enough hot breakfast option (eg no sausages)
Quiet hotel just 15 minutes walk from the Starnbergersee. All rooms have a balcony, most of them with a view on the garden
The location, the very friendly and supportive Staff, Parking Facilities No Elevator, Dogs running in the loppy arround, no Mini Bar, price a little bit too high for the Hotel all in all.
uaint and quiet. Enjoyable atmosphere. Friendly staff and town.
Great Hotel very cute room, hotel staff is wonderful. Great location from which to explore Bavaria if you don't mind a bit of driving. Very quite as long as you like church bells.
The staff was wonderful. I will stay there again and recommend to friends.
Location next to the lake, nice building Very strict check in, we vere little late and it was impossible communicate with the hotel, after 20.00 they didn't even answer the phone.
I enjoyed the suroundings and the placement of the hotel. The luck of a frigerator in the room and a cofee machine made this hotel not so demanding.
great place, great staff, good start for any bavarian holiday.
Beautiful small hotel. Sunny, clean, nicely furnished room with its own balcony. Charming sunny breakfast room/terrace. The proprietor came and picked us up from the train station and took me there on departure himself. No - very pleasant and well run, good value for money.
Nice location, close to Munchen but much cheaper and quieter. The staff was excellent, rooms comfortable, clean, overall very enjoyable.
Very Luxurious. Price, but it was the only accommodation available during Oktoberfest.
the location was very convenient for us, the village was very pretty, the food was great.
Most excellent staff. Very accomodating and helpful. It did get a bit noisy at times.
clean, quiet zanzare! Mosquitos! Lave the windows closed, from noon on!!!
the whole atmosphire none
Quiet location, great bavarian food, wholesome products, well-appointed and large rooms, staff courtesy and hospitality, free super-fast internet connection, and more... None, just perfect for a countryside hotel, cannot ask for more.
It's a lovely, comfortable, old-fashioned hotel, ideal for a golfing break - or as a convenient rural base from which to visit Munich or southern Bavaria. The dining room was a bit disappointing, but the Bierstube made up for it.
The staff were friendly, helpful and very professional as well as welcoming and attentive. Very relaxing atmosphere and comfortable stay in this historic hotel. There is nothing I did not like about the hotel or my stay here.
calm place, nice staff, good and large room, good breckfast until eleven no frigo bar
Excellent service in the "Ludwigs Stube". 2 outstanding waiters. Food was also good. Not very varied, however. One particular lady at reception was really outstanding too. Waiters in the main restaurant, rather stuck up and unfriendly. Really need a car to get around. Quite noisy at front of hotel as faces road.
Nice location, and very quiet hotel. Internet access is too expensive comparied with other hotels.
The hotel has very nice swimmingpool and large fitness area. Dinner was wonderful. This hotel is more for bussiness men and conferences, than for vacation.
the entrance to some of the rooms (which were on a separate pavillon), was where they kept the hotel garbage !!
Reception and all staff welcomming. The wellness centre was superb in inclement weather Breakfast was a big choice with cerials fresh rolls and and different breads together with slices of cheeses and hams. Cooked eggs bacon sausages and lashings of fresh coffee. I forgot the fresh fruit and well it just went on and on.Reception booked a show in Munich for us and we spent the 10days swimming in the Lake and walking in the surrounding countryside. What a wonderfull way to get over a recent spine opporation. We did not use the Squash courts or the hi tech golf room or the resident Doctors but did relax in the sauna. Thanks for a super break Les & Trixie.
Comfortable and clean hotel The hotel was not located directly at the lake - We had no view on the lake. About that we were somewhat disappointed.
Location close to the lake and trains for Munich also was very quiet.
Nice room.Friendly Staff in restaurant.Nice swimming pool.Good location. Senior staff a little officious and lack hands on involvement.Staff need better training.A stopover for tour parties means private guests less well catered for.
Facilities, helpful and friendly staff
Almost everything TV selections not good. Missing Italian and general english channels. I find the fact that WLAN is not included in the price ridicoulous. Just increase the room rate a bit and make it included.
Excellent staff, very friendly. Good food, very nice room. Very good location for sightseeing, close to Amersee.
Beautiful historical place close to Munich but remote enough to relax and enjoy the excellent food and atmosphere. We loved it!
Very quiet position and very large and comfortable room with characteristic and cozy wooden furniture Hotel is not 4 stars but 3 stars superior. Minibar not in the room.
The staff are very friendly and personable, give excellent service with a great attitude! The gardens are beautiful, the room was clean and comfortable and quiet, the restaurant has excellent food! The breakfast room is beautiful and peaceful. The owners of the Inn are on-site and very helpful, friendly, and took time with us for conversation and questions. We were not able to get an internet connection. We had trouble calling outside numbers from our room telephone and that problem never got corrected before we left.
Close to business location where I was working
Completely refubrished room and bathroom. Furnitures chenged to new. Clean enviroment. Good heating. Strong and fast Wi-Fi connection. Good parking and 1 min. by foot to the S-Bahn line to Munich. Homely variety breakfast, but it's ok.
Very close to the S5 train. Gets you into city/tents (Oktoberfest!) within 30 minutes. Very convenient
Small hotel with relatively big clean rooms and very friendly and helpfull staff (they understand English but not extremely well). The breakfast is good and contains bread, cake, cereal, some cheese and meat, jam, yoghurt, orange juice, coffee and different kinds of tea. The food for diner and lunch is also quite good and not at all expensive. There is a tram (Sbahn - S8) just behind the hotel. It takes aout 45min to the centre of Munich and 1h30 to the airport (direct line).
Buffet breakfast was great Low rating on value for money because all hotel prices were inflated just during Oktoberfest - not just this one. Normally it may be good value
The Hotel offers free internet access through wi-fi upon registration (with maxpost.de). Bandwith is good and wi-fi signal is strong everywhere. Rooms are big and beds are confortable. The breakfast is not particularly rich, but in line with the budget cost of the hotel. Rooms are generally clean, carpets and furnuture are a bit aged.
The hotel is very comfortable and the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful.
using the wireless connection of hotel Seehof! no internet (hotspot), in the summer this room was above the terras (very noisy)
Good location, Good Restaurant, and good service
free internet, good restaurant, excellent access to train towels , bathroom accessory
very good location, close to lake, good service, hotel is very clear and it isn't noisy place (in the morning wake up with bird's singing) staff doesn't speak english
Helpful manager. This is a traditional country inn, basic but very hospitable with a restaurant famous locally for duck. Book the restaurant to avoid missing an excellent meal - it is closed on Mondays.
Everything was nice. Its comfortable family-run hotel. Perfect breakfast, free wi-fi. Nice place to make a break. Easy to stay with 2-mounth baby.
Staff, breakfast and location
The owner of the hotel is delightful and his staff were all very helpful
The location was close to the lake and a number of restaurants as well as been in a qiet spot. The rooms are super comfortable, great shower and bathroom, big balcony. Ask for an extra pillow at reception as there isn't one in the room.
Very friendly staff and helped with a few questions we had None
The owner took the time to explain the hotel and his staff was very helpful. Excellent location and easy to get to Munich. I liked everything.
The hotal was very quiet and the room very confortable and very well equipped : hair dryer, balcony... The parking is small
Location near the lake was great. Also close to station and only an hour into Munich. Breakfast service is a bit slow as there is only one person. One day we were there at breakfast opening time and took a long time to get tea/coffee and juice. Second day we were there late (but before closing) and many breakfast items had run out and were not replenished. The rooms are old, the bathrooms need renovating.
It was a straightforward family run hotel. Good position in a pleasant village near a stunning lake. The hosts were engaging and enthusiastic and ensured we had a carefree saty. The evening dinner is a cut above the norm.
The hotel is located in a beautiful little country town within easy walking distance of the lake, restaurants and shops. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was top notch. We would definately return again.
Free internet, nice location, breakfast was included, reasonable rates, walking distance from public transport
A very good place to stay for a few days and in a wonderful location by the lake and near the S Bahn to Munich. Very clean and comfortable rooms and good food. Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent Biergarten. Dining room service would have been preferable to buffet but perhaps that was temporary. If it's not, it would be good if kitchen staff were available to freshen up the dishes on offer.
Great room with water bed.We chose a room overlooking the lake, which was lovely.Tea,coffee, library facilities at end of corridor with free internet access. This was very useful.Very good restaurant. Check-in was very brief, with no information offered about the hotel or area.
Right on the lakeside, balcony view overlooking the lake. Within walking distance to the S-bahn into Munich.
reception was fluent in english, danish, german and a few others
Good location. 50 minutes by train (S-Bahn) to Munich. Nice view to Ammersee. Internet connection is not stable
