9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place and lovely people. Breakfast was excellent with the opportunity to taste local cheese
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and spacious room. Lovely en suite and even had a fridge to keep drinks cold. The bread and choco pans were the best we have ever had in France. The hostess was very welcoming and friendly.
Cons: Unfortunately the restaurant in the village was closed on Mondays so we had to drive a few minutes to Joinville.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner is charming and has created a beautiful B & B in a delightful setting. Easy access from the motorway with good parking. The room was extra large, the bathroom also and the shower was the best I have ever experienced with no less than three options a drench, power spray head and six "massage" jets! Breakfast was "French plus" with fresh orange juice, yoghurt, fresh fruit and cheese to supplement the croissants and baguettes. All of this complemented with homemade mirabelle plum and cherry jams.
Cons: There is no evening meal offered and the only "restaurant" in the village served nothing but pizza. The choice of decent restaurants is in the nearest town a 15 minute drive away.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location ,breakfast ,people.
Cons: Beautifull and superb accommodation

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely stunning place and location. So much better than the corporate hotels I am used to staying in. The staff could not have been more helpful. The location is quintessentially small French village. It may be off the main motorway network but the detour is well worth it.
Cons: The fact I only booked one day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just the most beautiful and idyllic location and building. From the welcome, to the fabulous restaurant meal (I'm a foodie but was still surprised, wowed and impressed by the quality and diversity of the food offering) to the charming home made breakfast, this was perfection. Incredible value and a rare find at this price. We had a memorable dining experience with charming fellow guests which lifted our spirits having suffered a family bereavement. We will definitely return when next in France.
Cons: Everything was perfect, you can't improve on perfection.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Friendly host. Looked after us very well. Lovely breakfast with homemade jams. Nice outlook.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at Chez Monique as a family of 5 as a stop over on way to the Alps for skiing and on return home. Both times the host was very helpful and met all of our needs. Accommodation was clean and comfortable. We had dinner one night, which i’d highly recommended as it was a delicious meal which was also good value for money. Thank you for a pleasurable stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Easily accessible and had lots of character. Our bedroom was very large with a very comfortable large bed. It was extremely clean and well appointed. Although there was an en-suite shower and wash basin, the toilet was two steps across the hall but it was only used by us, so that was not a problem. Monique was very charming and helpful giving information on the local area. We ordered breakfast which was very plentiful with delicious homemade preserves, croissants, fresh bread, cheese, yoghurts and fresh fruit. Parking is on the broad pavement at the edge of the canal and our car was perfectly safe there. The local area is very rural with lots of good walking and the Autumn colours were glorious. The church in Doulaincourt is worth a visit and during the centenary of WW1, it was very moving to read the history of the fallen, which was on display around the village. Closest town is Joinville, which has a few supermarkets, restaurants etc.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Host was very nice and helpful
Cons: A bit far out of everything, maybe not a good basis to explore the region. But for us as a stay over on our way home it was perfect!

Pros: Lovely and comfortable, spacious. Very friendly and helpful. Fantastic outside area for dining with rattan lounge suite. Breakfast was delicious. A little off the beaten track but worth the drive. A welcome drink for the adults and soda for the kids! Delightful !
Cons: My wife and children struggled with the wifi speed. However wasn't a problem for me as I was happy to use 3G with good signal.

La Maison De Marie-Claire - Doncourt-sur-Meuse - Building
6
8.9 Excellent (188 reviews)
7.0 Good
Pros: If you like "home" type accommodation then it is all for you! IT feels like at home. I think for family with kids it is excellent. The host lady is super friendly and kind, she prepared large, but simple dinner (reasonably priced) and large but simple breakfast. House is large, quiet and clean.
Cons: I do not like "home" atmosphere, I was looking for cheap one night stand. Although house was beautiful and host was very friendly, it felt awkward, like in someone's house. It was also awkward that I was placed to eat dinner at the table with other guests, dinner for all at the same time. I was dead tired, I wanted to eat quickly and go to rest, but had to be social friendly... Not very comfortable... Perhaps I should choose motel instead, but in this location there is no cheaper alternative available.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The garden was wonderful, pretty and with room to at for the kids. The indoor playroom was messy, but great for the kids. The dinner was delicious and sumptuous, with many course, excellent cheese, and fresh vegetables from the garden.
Cons: The dinner for our kids was served too late, despite prior agreement by mail for a (relatively) early meal. Probably due mainly due to different habits between our countries. However, in the end all was well, and our kids enjoyed the stay.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: the room was big, charming, clean, quiet and the bed very comfortable ! wooden baby crib is a must :-)
5.8 Okay
Pros: it was ok , but is nothing to do and no TV only radio , it far from all the city and no store ,no restaurant

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was blissful
Cons: As it was extreme temperatures air conditioning would have been fantastic but I suppose it rarely ever gets as hot as that !
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice location. Really great dinner. Expensive but really good.
Cons: The owner lady treated us like nobodies. Every question (can we have a coffee in the morning) was too much. The lady thought that she was funny and that she needed to treat guests like that. I think she has a very big ego.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The calmness, the art and the lake.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location and very good restaurant
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting; great food.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was quiet and very relaxing. Great food, and nice accommodations.
Cons: It was unusually hot weather and on the first night I could not figure out a way to ventilate the room. Of course I could leave the glass door open to the cement porch but that seemed like a poor decision because animals, insects or people could get in. The only other things were I could not figure out how to operate the television and the internet worked intermittently.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is quite remote, however, the hotel is set in such a tranquil place with a beautiful lake leading to a lovely winding river. The restaurant was fantastic with a menu setting of four/five different choices, all reasonably priced & a wine list of so many choices, it is hard too choose one specific bottle! The hotel & restaurant staff were very friendly & knowledgeable about the food & wine being presented.
Cons: I cannot tho k of anything?
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We've reviewed the hotel before and it is one of our favourite stopovers. Comfortable rooms (although could be hot in summer) and excellent restaurant.
Cons: La Source Bleue - you need to find a new gardener! Add that little bit of sparkle back to the grounds around the hotel (and get rid of the old airbed in the garden - it's part its best!). A small amount of TLC to the grounds and it would be lovely again.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Supper was delicious. Breakfast Good. Location very good.
Cons: Pity we couldn't see the last hour of the Wimbledom Mens Single Final.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owners. Parking for the motorbike was already very secluded but they nevertheless immediately offered to put the bike in the garage. The bedroom and a lounge with the TV were both nicely decorated with a attention to detail
Cons: Chaumont is a small town but it took at least a ten minute walk to get to the town centre and the restaurants
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful home with a very hospitable family. For sure a recommendation for a stop-over on the way to the South!
6.8 Good
Pros: Lovely hosts, although no-one there when we arrived. Liked having a fridge and coffee machine
Cons: The tiny wash basin in the bathroom. The stone staircase up to the room, which was made more hazardous by the decorative items on them! The somewhat tired appearance of the entrance and the house.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Easy to park
Cons: A bit tired, very narrow staircase to access rooms, bar closed early. No lift
4.3 Okay
Pros: The location is lovely. The dinner was very good value. The staff were pleasant but lacked authority.
Cons: We originally reserved a double room for €59.35 including breakfast but this was ver small and so we requested a room with an extra bed as our 4 year old could then sleep separately. This was offered at €95 excluding breakfast. We negotiated that breakfast should be included as the room was then of moderate size only but the absent owner by telephone said that we should pay €8.90 for our 4 year old. The room had no window except for a skylight but the blind did not work and so we were awake ver early. The wooden pegs on the bathroom door to hang towels repeatedly fell off. There was a huge amount of fluff, hair and dirt under our bed. The bath was 3 foot long. The access to my side of the bed was very tight and because there was a metal bookcase at shoulder level on the adjacent wall I hurt my shoulder on the sharp corner. The bookcase was empty.
8.3 Excellent

6.3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Getting a bit tired. Stayed at this hotel a few years ago. Absolutely nothing has changed. You might be better off in the Ibis Styles just up the road which had better parking facilities. Most importantly, according to my wife...... No hair dryer!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable, friendly. I loved the quirky decor. Extremely dog friendly. Excellent position in town. Brilliant pizza.
Cons: No hot option for breakfast.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel itself is in a small town near the station . The interior is eclectic with odd pictures and many trophy taxidermy heads on the walls. I was ok with this but a vegetarian might not be as they are staring down at you at breakfast . Breakfast was good . The best thing was the great friendly staff - especially the young man who had learnt his very good English in Birmingham!!
Cons: Town was quiet but we were only there for the night
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel ran by Father and son, walls adorned with quirky art. Every effort was made to make us comfortable particularly in the dining room. Excellent choices of menus, well priced. Saw a little of the Town and decided we shall definitely return.
6.8 Good

Cons: The food wasn't great and a bit heavy for our taste. The room was very hot
6.3 Good
Pros: Staff was good. Parking was on site for 7 euro's per day. Subway fast food is part of the hotel. Walking distance +/-5 minutes to town.
Cons: Restaurant is closed on Mondays. Beds are hard, towels are skimpy and TV was dinky (14")
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Town centre was a five minute walk away where there was a selection of bars and restaurants. Very relaxed place.
Cons: The weather was a lot warmer than we expected for the time of year but we had gone for a non comfort room so no air conditioning. Had large windows to front though so plenty of fresh air. If going in summer make sure to book a comfort room with air con.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Wacky decor - not vegan friendly because there is loads of taxidermy everywhere.
Cons: The hotel did not honour the booking.com price & told me to book direct in the future... Not worth making a scene about at the hotel but if booking.com & your hotels are to be trusted the advertised price MUST be the price at checkout...
7.5 Good
Pros: The quality and choice of food in the restaurant were truly excellent, and so was the service. All the staff in the hotel were helpful.
Cons: our room was very small, and the twin beds were not com fortable. The bathroom was very cramped.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I really liked the location. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was simple but comfortable. The hotel in general was very attractive and inviting. The pizza restaurant downstairs was excellent and the atmosphere very relaxing.
Cons: The restaurant hours were late in the evening, however that is more cultural. We were just hungry and had to wait for it to open.
6.0 Good
Pros: Stay in your hotel every time I drive through France.Although I absolutely hatewhat you havew done with the breakfast room .I loved the posters which fitted perfectly unfortunately the stuffed animals are too big andshould be placed in a grand room with high ceilings. The pictures do not go with the circus type colours you have painted it. The animals put me off my breakfast is that the idea

5.0 Okay
Pros: Cheap and convenient
Cons: We have been staying with our family at the f1 for about 12 years now gradually standards have declined. We turned the other evening and were locked out. we were able to get entry but then discovered that we didn’t have any towels which used to be included. There croissant’s for breakfast anymore and the coffee machine is not as good as the old filter coffee and hot milk. The showers and toilets have gradually gone downhill as well in the last 10 years so much so that my wife and daughter didn’t bother having a shower at all. Sorry to say that we will not be staying again ever.
