Big room and big bathroom and nice hotel. I did not like that my room was very close to the road to go to the motorway from Spain to France and, to me, is a lot of noise to sleep well. Other thing was that into the bathroom you have only gel but not shampoo to take a shower.
The staff were friendly enough and the breakfast option of juice, croissant and coffee was good Appearance did not look like photo on website. One bedroom smelled of cigarette smoke. Hotel located between two busy roads. Building ugly-outside and inside. Lounge area was smoking area!
Excellent & very helpful staff who helped us organise with a baby. Finding the hotel is a bit of an issue. The hotel coordinates are not correct on the booking website (coordinates are for urdanibia, not the hotel). Some of the roads appear to have signs to Tryphotel but the road we arrived on didn't. There are no signs from urdanibia for "TrypHotel". Even the sign on top of the hotel just says "Hotel"!
Regrettably I cannot think of anything that I liked about our stay. Everything. We were woken throughout the night by other guests arriving - the layout of the hotel made this possible. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was diabolical.
We only stayed one night, so hard to judge. It is a nice, older hotel close to the highway which is good if you're underway. Not too much noise coming from the highway. Only 5 km from the beach (Hundarribia); kind and helpfull staff. You can hardly go anywhere from the hotel on foot. Very oldfashioned and small playground for children available
Only the receptionists spoke little English and were service-minded, the rest of the staff (from the restaurant) were very unfriendly and not helpfull at all. The restaurant/snackbar does not even have an English menu. I think they don't welcome foreign travellers at all.
Restaurant not open for evening meal and bar menu not very extensive.
The total cost of the stay. In Easter week there wasn't no room in any other place. The hotel was fine
It was choosen becausr it was near the airport.
Staff of the hotel was really nice. very kind to help you. noise from the road even so the windows isolate well.
convenient for town and easyy parking no kettle and very expensive for a spanish hotel
Overpriced dump that doesn't deliver what the price tag promises. WiFi wasn't working, which in 2016 just proves they didn't care enough to get a reliable connection (I needed it for work, not entertainment). Nor was it fixed during the time we were there. The "hotel parking" is blocks and blocks away, which defeats its purpose. And the maid barged into our room without even knocking, embarrassing my naked wife. Seriously? A bad experience at any price, but sbsolutely horrible for what this place charged
A fantastic location in the heart of the town, with all the restaurants and tapas bars on the doorstep. Modern, clean and comfortable. The young lady on reception could not have been more helpful, with lots of advice on where to go in the town.
bad internet conection
Very modern, clean and comfortable room, right in the centre of the town. And the breakfast was a treat, probably the best in recent years. No, everything was fine.
good location, modern and comfortable
Very nice rooms. Awesome shower. No alarm clock.
A beautiful hotel in a small town with a perfect position. Friendly staff and very clean. I was lucky to have a room wuth two windows. A nice cute hotel, I would recommend it.
The hotel rooms are small but clean and well kept. However, the location, next to the weekend revellers on the main street, is appalling. Noise all night which even the ac does not silence!! Over-priced for what it is - an economy hotel presenting itself as 'boutique'... see above!
Bright clean room in a central location beside all amenities. Helpful, friendly staff. No
Clean modern room. Right in the centre of Hondarribia. Parking very easy and well organised.
Friendly staff. Within walking distance of Irun station.Large, comfortable room.
The hotel was clean, pleasant and attractive, but the very best aspect was the staff who were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Cereal at breakfast would have been nice, but that's probably just an English thing.
Very peacefully situated allthough it was only 200 m away from the main street of Irún.
Close to both Irun and Hendaye stations and close to the town. Friendly staff. There seemed to be no restaurants near the hotel - though that is not the fault of the hotel itself
I like the "vintage" look of this hotel, a travel in time as some users say. The staff is kind and helpful. I think the hotel is over-priced; 124 euros for one night and breakfast + 2 drinks was a bit too much.
Delightful receptionist who was patient with my terrible Spanish even though she spoke perfect English.
Breakfast is basic, juice/coffee cakes and no choice.
This hotel has a lot of wonderful decor but really needs updating and at least some attention. AC would be a very welcome addition. Staff was willing to help. The room needed attention. The mirror had a crack in it. The wallpaper was damaged. The shower head was loose and broken.
Beautiful common spaces. Lovely view from the terrace and mirador There was no restaurant, something we'd looked forward to from our experience at other paradors . The room was relatively small. And the bed was two twins pushed together which is awkward compared to a real queen or king size bed.
Location No restaurant
An amazing place... especially when you bring an Australian with you!
Breakfast was quite nice. The view from the room was also very nice and there was a very nice terrace overlooking the bay. Staff was not very helpful and the rooms for the price were too simple.
Hotel superb No sound insulation so you hear everyones doors open and close, every bath and every S...
The peacefulness of the environment and the charming quality of the town was superior. The staff was excellent and responsive to every question or need. The parking situation is not clear and it took awhile to figure that out. I had requested a non smoking room and did not get that and also requested a room with view and did not get that -- which seemed to me to make me want to make reservations directly with the hotel rather than through your service since I would have had more likelihood of either getting my request fulfilled or understand why it would not be possible.
The amazing reconstruction of the building - would have liked more infor about this. The noises from the rooms above could be loud sometimes
Eexcellent location and great staff. The lack of air conditioning made our night a bit uncomfortable.
Public spaces had beautiful views, staff helpful, great location to sightsee in the Basque region of Spain and France. Excellent restaurants nearby. Rooms are not airconditioned, and while the temperature cooled at night, our room had an interior courtyard window that did not allow for a breeze. We were fortunate to get a fan from the staff.
After staying at parador toledo, hondarribia seemed a bit short on almost all points
Excellent food, quiet location welcoming helpful staff. Nothing
Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent buffet breakfast. Smoking is allowed in the restaurant
very friendly staff. great location the restaurant only offered a set evening meal which was expensive
Everything!!! An excellent hotel. Nothing!!!
Very clean, and very modern. Room was comfortable, and everyone that worked there was friendly. Great restaurant, and comfortable bar area. Difficult to find in the dark.
Excellent service, breakfast, professional
The ambience of the hotel generally and the extremely helpful staff. Very comfortable beds. No
The members of staff were very friendly and helpful. Because it was a public holiday (Nov 1) the restaurant was closed. We were able to order from the room service menu, but this did not offer a lot of choice.
People in front office very helpfull. The is an nice historical centre in the city. Which is of some interest. We were traveling by car from France to Bilbao. And went to San Bastian next day. This was a good stop.

The hotel staff, especially the ladies at the reception are very friendly and were genuinely helpfull with directions and recommendations. Overall the staff is what made our stay at the hotel extremely enjoyable. Hotel rooms are quite nice, big and clean. The restaurant serves excellent food. I will definitely go back.
The rooms are really nice, made with care, well designed and clean.
comfortable, clean and good service.
Staff was very friendly
Very helpful staff, and for me the parking suited my extreme needs.
location breakfast starts too late
friendly staff, good location - near the board walk parking was not near the hotel
Reception staff very helpful and pleasent
Close to shops and beach Expensive breakfast
good location.excellent breakfast. plenty parking
I found the hotel to be extremely comfortable and relaxing prior to my important customer meeting.
The hotel was lovely and in a great location- right in town. Free parking was a plus. I liked the feel of Hondarribia very much. I found it quaint and lively. A great place to explore. We flew to Biarritz and rented a car and spent our first night in Hondarribia - a good start to a week's trip.
Very friendly staff, excellent restaurant, good value for money
Close to Airport No non-smoking dining.
the hotel took a bit of finding,it was a very pleasant stay the staff very friendly, the breakfast was very good quality . the location was good for sightseeing in the area.
- noisy guests who spoke most of the night - staff spoke only one language
The hotel is lovely - a 600 year old building that has been tastefully restored. It is a wonderful alternative to the "parador" and is located inside the walled city. Fabulously located within 2 km of the airport.
Location, staff, the building/room decor, breakfasts everything was perfect.
Situated in quiet square in old town near lots of restaurants. Lovely views over water into France and wooded hills beyond. Excellent variety for breakfast - eggs and bacon cooked in front of you. Free internet use. 6 parking spaces in front. Convenient night stop driving Portugal to uk. No lift, and stairs to bedrooms a bit steep. We could manage but others with sore knees/hips could find it difficult. Sitting room dowmstairs a bit gloomy with no outlook in daytime.
Great location in castle-like building in the heart of small old town A bit hard to find but it's part of adventure - just follow the signs
Design - beautiful old building, great stylish interior. Location - just in the heart of old town some smell in the bathroom
Character of hotel, Large size room, Good noise insulation Limited food/drink options at hotel. No pool.
Unique place (old bishops's recidence). Breakfast was excellent (staff made creppes, omelettes etc. on request). Very clean, very stylish. There was a lot of noise from nearby restaurant terrace all nights.
The location in the castle; the rooms were well decorated and had good and very clean bathrooms.Staff friendly and helpful. Free parking available No English or German TV program on satelite TV ( only programs in Spanish and French) to see e.g. news international guests
Friendly hotel with exellent service No.
Our room was very charming, quiet and comfortable, and the staff was exceptional.
the very sympathetic reception staff goes out of its way with touristic tips, route description, etc. They even called me to notify that I left my mobile charger in my room (and luckily I was still close enough to drive back). the rooms feature a lot of space, and are stylishly decorated. wonderful green environment around the hotel. the breakfast was okay, but could have been better (fresh juice would have been nice, and some more choice). staff wasn't around to help choose the right table (some are for the restaurant). watch out: it is best to have a car to get to this hotel.
Staff friendly and helpful. The room was lovely The walls are paper thin. You can hear other guests showering, walking around their room talking etc. We didn't like being within view of a Toxic Chemical Dump
The location was excellent. A lovely remote location. Was hard to communicate to the stalf as only one member spoke fairly good english and she was only on in the morning when we checked out. The access road to the hotel was a bit rough and hard on the car. Due to a technical fault there was at the time no Wi-Fi access in the rooms.
It was very very near motorway service area -- very very noisey in the room we could hear people in the next room -- & the kitchen staff below our room--- this is not 4 star bed uncomfortable & loo not fixed to the wall -- I was going to write to separately -- We go on a lot of holidays and have used you before & this hotel was not good --Breakfast very poor
It was a lovely peaceful and relaxing setting. The woman at reception(forgive me I forget her name) was absolutely wonderful- professional, knowledgeable, extremely accommodating, hard working and quite simply Lovely! Aside from being a little difficult to find I cannot say anything negative.
we enjoy this beaitiful place and go to San Sebastian and Hondarribia Everything was super
Excellent hotel, very good dinner at a very reasonable price
the hotel and its area is very beautiful, the room was very comfortable and beautifull ,the staff were very friendly and helpfull. the breakfast wasn't suitable to the price and to the level of the hotel (we were dissapointed)
Staff was very nice and helpful, contacted us in advance to warn about the wedding celebration taking place at the same date. Very romantic, excellent restaurant and views. Location is a bit not that close to San-Sebastian as stated and not that easy to find.
Setting, views, room comfort, food, calm.
Clean with plenty of free parking and close to main road. A bit of a walk to the station, but still good access to San Sebastian. Nextdoor cafe does a good breakfast at around. Also close (15min walk) to restaurant Martin Berasatgui While the room was OK, I felt we were given the worse one on the floor through booking on line
Comfortable, clean, great prices, easy access to San Sebastian by car, train or bus. Hotel staff was very helpful. Was perfect for our little getaway. Beds were comfortable and the room had a flat screen tv with cable.
This hotel has no aircon. It is impossible to sleep without the windows open, and then it is impossible to sleep because of the traffic noise from the nearby highway. Avoid this hotel in summer.
The beds of the triple room were big, good quality/price
5km far from Donostia, helpful and nice staff, huge room, free parking no air conditioning, soft pillows
We found the staff very helpful and friendly. We thought the restaurant prices a little expensive.
Quick to get to from the autoroute. Good stop off point if travelling through France to Spain.
Very convenient to buses for San Sebastian. Good restaurant next door.
price--given summer season. A bit difficult to find.
nice hotel and nice stuff it is expencive for what it offers
Poor parking, noisy, lousy food,
Excellent staff, very willing to help Food only ok
Not a lot Same standard as the French budget hotels at twice the price
It's easy to find Overpriced for a motorway motel, dirty, noisy, very poor breakfast for the money and when it's busy parking be difficult.
Easy access, good "base point", friendly staff Very Noisy
Close to the spanish/french border and near lovely village and scenery
The area around the hotel is not very appealing but the hotel itself was comfortable.
The room was good. Staff very helpful and the catering and food very good. Car parking seemed a bit vulnerable but perhaps as police seemed to come for refreshments it works ok.
Hotel staff and hotel easy acces. Non
nice rooms and good staff alitle bitt expencieve and noisy because of the track drivers
a cozy homestay with gorgeous and very helpfully staff, just like your family
Good Place, quiet, room space. One of the shower doors mising
the food was very good, the room new-ish and well appointed, bathroom and bed comfort excellent lack of staff on duty those that were ran round in circles as if no duty roster or organisation had been issued, excepting that they did not speak English they were civil and polite but lacked any professionalism
Pleasant slleping accomadation Smoky bars and very hard to find sat nav could not pick up street
The value for money is great, very simple & modest but charming. The location at first looks a bit distant from Donostia but the village has its charm. It is very relaxing. The food is great (dinner & b-fast) and the staff is lovely. We really enjoyed the experience. If you are looking for something simple, calm & realaxing on the countryside of the Pais Vasco it is a great choice! The noise from the highway.
The evening meal was excellent. Room was spacious and clean. Comfy bed. Receptionist was very friendly and got up extra early for us to have breakfast. Most important though - our little dog was made welcome! On road parking - not secure parking.
Spacious, comfortable and clean rooms. Welcoming staff. Excellent breakfast. The hotel was a bit tricky to find during the major road works nearby.
Nice and helpful people. Fascinating building. The location of the hotel, behind a tall hedge with respect to the main road and on a rise above the access road allied to the very limited signage identifying the hotel, made locating it difficult. The GPS was not helpful.
Character of building. Space and cleanliness of room. It's really unfortunate that the lovely building is sandwiched between industrial warehouses and a highway, which makes it more like a motel rather than a mountain/countryside hotel. Luckily the windows seal quite well so there wasn't much noise from outside. However, the rooms and doors aren't very sound proof so you could hear cleaning upstairs or preparations for breakfast outside. The shower screen in our bathroom is in need of repair as it looks as though it could break off if not careful.
great bathroom, comfortable room rooms not ready upon arrival, even though arrived at 3.30pm
The staff in the hotel were very friendly and in the cafe/bar next door. Its proximity to San Sebastian and the building is really lovely. It was very clean and excellent value for money. Catch a bus into San Sebasitian it only cost 1.30 euros and a taxi back is only 18 euros so not bad, but look in the town for a couple of bards and restaurants. We were near the reception area and it was a little noisy in the morning when they started serving breakfast, but that is really nit picking.
The bedroom was huge and designed to be totally unique. Jose was extremely helpful and friendly. Ask him for a guided tour of the Cider Factory in the nearby mountains - scenery is spectacular!
It was a very comfortable hotel and the staff (English speaking) were very helpful. A very interesting building in an unusual position! No
the staff were amazing
