How I was greeted and the check-in process. Ample free parking. Excellent free Wi-Fi. Comfortable room with safe, flat screen tv, and king size bed. Room was small and really only good for sleeping in. No view or comfortable place to sit.The restaurant was disappointing. I had dinner there as I had driven over 10 hours and just wanted to relax.
It had availability during a very busy weekend... It is a typical Best Western...but Best Western's (in my experience) are not a 4-Star hotel...
Friendliness of staff and the atmosphere of the hotel.
The hotel was wonderful, if it had a restaurant it would be perfect. However, there are 2 excellent restaurants close by but you have to be very cautious of traffic when walking to them To get to a restaurant you had to walk on a very busy raod with no sidewalk or take the car into the village
on our trip to provance we have booked few hotels in different locations in order to be closer to the places of interest. Bastide de Valbonne appear as a very high standard villa B&B with best service I have had in France and rest of the Europe with a exeption of Poland - where hotels services are excelent. The owners - staff from Bastide de Valbonne vere extremply helpful and had an updated knowledge about local living such as bus or train timetables, maps, what is worthy to see etc. I wish to come back there in the future. One more thing worthy to mention - we arrived from Cannes to Valbone village on sunday morning and on the busy road French Man offered us a lift to the hotel to avoid the dangerous traffic -this was very nice, thank you 15euro for breakfast seems to be a little to much - possible looked better if included in the full price and discounted - but this is optional. the hotel is located a 15 mins walk from Valbonne village on the very busy road without proper pavement - until we have been told how to take longer but safer route it was quite stressfull.
The staff of Bastide de Valbonne was awsome!! Our room was perfectly prepared for a honeymoon week and disxounted from euro 155 to euro 140 per day as a present. Hotel is 6km fm Cannes and 23 km fm Nice. Also close to A8 for St Tropez. Perfect place to stay out of noisy cities. Hotel is managed by the family and brings home feeling even if you are in France Breakfast euro 12 per person is quite expensive. I feel that same should be included into the room price since we paid euro 144 for breakfast only..
Charming small boutique hotel, attractively furnished and well located for Nice, Cannes and surrounding area. Helpful and welcoming staff. Nice breakfasts. No lift
Stylish and cosy place, very well maintained and a relaxing place to be. Easy parking
Very friendly staff.Very good public transport form the hotel. Breakfast was good but could be varied as after 4 days it was all the same choice.
The service is excellent
This hotel was incredible - the staff was so helpful and friendly, the accommodations were very comfortable, and the location was perfect.
Room, swimming pool No easy walking to village
The service was very good and the room was clean and spacious. One of the best 2 star hotels we have stayed in nothing
terrace with beautiful view of the bay and Grasse, free parking
The room was clean and comfortable with a wonderful view. Breakfast and dinner taken at the hotel were very pleasant. The outside terrace had a wonderful view.
View Parking place
To me a great hotel is measured by its staff. Everyone at the Mandarina was very kind and helpful and made my stay very enjoyable indeed! Thank you Jordan, Hugo and, of course, Marie-Low, Forgive me not knowing the correct spelling for my Gypsy!! l. Gordon Nothing
good location, quiet but close to the town center and easy for business.
The Manager was very helpfull in sorting out garaging space for my classic open top sports car and sorting out a dinner reservation even though the barbacue was fully booked he was excellent person The receptionist was not very helpfull trying to solve my problems, there should be a luggage trolley available to move the luggage from the car to ones room .there is no lift so very difficult for a person with any disability
cleanliness, friendly, nice view, very nice terras and sitting area outside To far from center of Grasse and no real restaurant available at location
The rooms are clean and tidy, and spectacular views over grasse and the surrounding countryside, a really friendly community. The parking is a bit on the tight side, but it's managable.
Enjoyed the tranquility, also magnificient view from la terrasse. Pity about the very small size of the bedrooms, also lack of air conditioning.
The calm and natural setting Some issues with Internet connectivity. Did not work and WiFi from bouyges telecom very expensive. Room service very limited on Sundays. Not an hotel for business on my opinion.
We had a very small room which was stated to be a junior suite, which was totally misleading!!!!
Golf course and privacy of the place
The staff were helpful . The golf course was in good order. food for dinner was adequate but expensive.
Excellent service, cozy rooms, peacefull and green environment, nice restaurant and good food. The pool
It's very quite and isolate The rooms are very dark and the infrastructure not the best. The bathroom are very "simple"
Quiet location situated directly at the golf course. Frindly staff. Good restaurant.
Relaxing hotel, great setting,excellent staff,
The setting, the room, and the helpfulness of the hotel staff The hotel was let down only by the restaurant. The quality of the food at dinner was very poor for this standard of hotel and breakfast was also very poor
great location, excelent services. Staff is very friendly and helpful.Rooms are big, very clean & elegant. Nice food.
food - very good restaurant, peace, very nice nature around,
the location staff were polite but a little abrupt
Very romantic look, may not have the most comfortable mattresses, but it was ok.
Staff were lovely, but encountered one in the restaurant who didn't speak much english (and we didn't speak much french) which made dining for dinner a little difficult. Other than that the room was clean, cute and a perfect spot for exploring Grasse. We walked almost everywhere we needed to go from the hotel. Would definitely stay there again if I returned to Grasse.
Center of the town. Close the bus terminal. The room was well clearned, but hotel atmosphere was not the best.
Sightseeing, hotel based in a good location for many local attractions Difficulty in finding the hotel initially by car
The stay was a big dissapointment; it does not deserve the qualification of a nice Provencal hotel. Rooms and toilets were dirty, outfitting was very basic, there were holes in the roofs of the room ceiling, shower heads were loose,
Well located Very small rooms!!
La charmante ville de grasse. it was one of the cheapest ways to stay rather near to cannes- The room looked like not ready renovated. lamps have not been completely installed in the head lining
we had great difficulty finding hotel probably in part because GPS found one way streets an issue. Once there management helpful and pleasant. Poor value for cost against other recently booked hotels. Room very small and tight fit when travelling with several cases.
Location Bad travel signs for reachig Grasse and the hotel. Noise from the hall in front of the room. Noise from the elevator.
Excellent value for money, I would recommend and stay again. Fantastic location in the centre of the village square. Food fantastic, staff very helpful. Ideal for Route Neopolean and visiting the Gorges De Verdon
This was a lovely hotel in a fabulous location, Castellane. The room and view was excellent. We enjoyed touring round the Gorge du Verdun and eating out in the main square. Highly recommended It would have been nice to have tea and coffeee making facilities in the room
Lovely location, extremely helpful and friendly staff, great value for money dining room with excellent local produce provenanced for your interest. Maitre d'hotel has great character and is very generous. We would have liked to stay longer. No fridge in room.
The reception area was very attractive and welcoming and the staff were most helpful without being intrusive. The room was large very comfortable and had a fantastic view over the river and mountains.
Very friendly staff on reception. Very pleasant hotel. Breakfast included in price. Dinner very poor value for money: 36 Euros but quality did not match price. Waiting staff very stiff and formal, creating a stiff and starchy atmoshere.
An older but very well maintained hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
The central location with free parking, room with balcony and a good restaurant. Well situated for the Gorge du Verdon.
The hotel was ideally situated in the centre of the very picturesque town of Castellane. really impressed with the hotel. A pity there was not a fridge in the rooms.
The hotel has a good location. The price of the meals is an absurd! Almost 20€ for a burger!!!
Check-in desk staff was wonderful Improve the food please for breakfast. lots of selection but presentation/taste of eggs/meats/crepes...not very appealing
Pleasan locality, reasonably friendly staff and reasonably good food. It was quiet and bed was comfortable. The heating in the room was not very good. Despite leaving the thermostat at 35 degress C it was not warm even after a few hours.
Close to the busines appointment Not advisable to sleep with openened window on floor 2
open air terrace restaurant and the possibilities to go for walks in the forest from the hotel
Quite and nice terrace Wifi not included in the price (Orange)
Room size and free internet access. when walking in the hotel passing the hotel staff I generally would say hello "Bonjour" but some of them just didn't reply. It gave me a feeling that I am just a stranger to be there.
Quick check in and check out Internet Service was unavailable one night - unacceptable service
The comfort of the room, quality of the bedding and beds, space available, view from the room, surrounded by nature in a busy part of the world. Would have preferred more international TV channels in some other languages
efficient, nearby business appointment The description to reach it. Sophia Antipolis is a maze to drive through
Very quiet hotel, in the countryside inside the technological park of Sophia-Antipolis. Perfectly located for business in the area and with many nice restaurants in the villages around (in a radius of 10-20 km). You absolutely need a car: public transportation is nearly non-existent.
Excellent and very friendly and helpfull staff. Good breakfast. Perfect location for my business trip. Large, well equipped room. Centrally located for Cote d'Azure cities and villages, given that you do have a car. Houskeeper cleaning of room should be done with more attention. Would still definitely stay there again if in Sopia-Antipolis. A car is a must though.
Lovely hotel located in quiet surroundings. We will surely come back again some other time.
Friendliness of staff, range of menu. English speaking. Cost of additional breakfast charge.
Visited the area & rested There was no mini bar in the room
Layout and forested setting - quite Does not seem to have been modernised in 10yrs (since I last stayed there). Bathrooms on par with budget hotels eg IBIS. Premium rates for the room and then extra for Wifi (€10) and a continental breakfast (€8pp) . Better value elsewhere - would n't stay there again
