Room was warm and comfortable, hotel was easy to find and well located breakfast was poor
Convenient over-night stop Hotel was OK, environment less so
We stayed only 1 night, we do not have any special comments no
Easy to find location Bed was really uncomfortable. Hotel needs some updating. It is cheap so don't expect much!
No tapas or food in the bar. Only expensive restaurant.
there is free parking
The restaurant was far from good. The food was boring and over priced.
A beautiful place with an obvious illustrious history. The curtains and bed spreads were the most lovely fabric. Ample storage and huge mirrors. the bathroom was large and had plenty of shelfspace to spread out. The swimming area was underused so there was great choice of places to recline. Pool depth started about 30 cms at one end and sloped gradually. Not a pool for someone who wanted to swim lengths but great for the less dedicated. The restaurant was not well advertised and not well supported by residents. I ate there and it was fine.
Good quality water Service geared towards Spanish customers
Great hotel spotlessly clean, nice staff, free parking nice Spa Comfortable beds, air-conditioning very effective Bar closed at 11pm! Given menu in restaurante, but half of it not available. Need a current menu
comfortable, firm beds - good ambient temperature - plenty of hot water not very impressed by the menu del dia in the restaurant, both starter and main course were very oily, but service was good
I didn't like anything in this hotel. The hotel is not so much clean, rooms were so little than a person can live, beds were uncomfortable, noone can speak English. After all of these, they wanted us extra money for the breakfast. They told us that we ate one bread more and drunk two teas more. The price which caused a problem was just 1 € and I gave 2 € maybe they can need some money to make the hotel better...
nice people, willing to help. poor english, but enough. parking your car is a huge problem.
The standard of cleanliness was excellent, the decor and layout of the room was luxurious and the staff were very friendly. Despite waiting until 9.20 for our breakfast there was still no food available and they confessed that they did not have any for us even though we had paid for half board. We could have had to wait for hours for food as we were the only guests as there was no way of knowing when the hotel supplies would be there. We went hungry that day.
The building itself is stunning, the spa very relaxing, the four poster bed was the most comfortable bed we slept in during a 2 week vacation in Spain and the room and bathroom very nicely set up. Its in the middle of nowhere
How they had blended the architecture of the Castle with a new modern look. The Hotel Staff was extremely friendly and helped in all ways. The only minor issue is the parking space. I stayed there in August which is considered low season and there were only around 15 parking spaces in total and 2-3 free.
A superb and beautiful hotel, especially given how little we paid for a night's stay. The Roman/Arab baths were particularily delight and entirely free. The one major problem was that they were obviously not able to open restaurant either because of a lack of custom or staff. However, the town is a lovely place and we could not have enjoyed our stay in Mengibar more. Nothing
Areally wonderful building with excellent facilities The restaurant could have been better
The Palacio de Mengibar is an excellent hotel, with great facilities (especially the spa) and wonderful food. It was a bit quiet when we were there but it had only been open 3 months.
The hotel was outstanding. Beautifully restored and decorated combining 15th century origins with a luxurious elegance. One of nicest I have stayed in and far better value than the Paradors. Sadly the stay was spoilt by the smell from the Smurfitt Kapper (sic) incinerator that was positioned about a mile away but the stench was terrible when outside or having the windows open and it ruined a perfect hotel stay
The building and spa are fabulous mengibar is not a big tourist town so don't go there expecting to stroll around and find lots of easy to access resturants/shops etc. If you want to stay in a castle and have access to a spa to use Palacio de Mengibar is for you
We loved the atmosphere and the way the place looked. Very comfortable and really added a golden touch to a romantic weekend. The breakfast on Monday morning was in the hotel bar instead of the restaurant and instead of the wonderful buffet we had had the day before we were served a standard breakfast at our table. Granted, you could ask and change things you did not like, but it gave a bad impression that most things were not availabe like the day before.
Very beautiful old building, fantastic bedrooms, very peaceful.loved it. Restaurent was only open at weekends. some food was available in bar
Very attractive historical setting. Wonderful spa facilities. We could not book a table for dinner for the evening we arrived. The town has a very small number of restaurants, in fact the hotel could not recommend any good ones that were in walking distance.
