Really a beautiful, serene location, absolutely gorgeous outdoor terrace, and great pool and tennis court. Beautiful grounds and a lovely small pub. We will be back many times!
The rooms were large, clean and beautiful. We lived in a castle. Breakfast was ok. They didn't have lift, but we stay only for one night and it was ok. We have supper in a near village, because they didn't have restraunt in the hotel. Har to find on a road.
Quiet and lovely location in coutryside. Close to major Chateaus in Loire and excellent restaurants. Hooting of the owls late at night followed by the screech of its prey. Otherwise excellent.
We liked the quietness of the place, the swimmingpool, the chateau itself, the proprietors and the type of other guests visiting. In my opinion, the mattresses were too soft or worn out.
Smell, Small rooms, Internet connection only at the Rezeption, breakfast Starts only at 8.00 A.M.
The surroundings The price of the breakfast is really too expensive. It should not be higher than 10 euros.
The wanderful place (the Garden, the pool). no restaurant
Quiet and charming Nothing relevant
nice room, nice place, grand hotel. Far from the town
Pool, tennis court, park, terrace The room and bathroom is very tatty and one was also infested with insects. Many other guests were surprised at the lack of restaurant caused partly by their Hotel Restaurant brochures!
Excellent location. Very good to examine the region. Large room with nice service. There is no restaurant in the hotel (the near one is 3 minutes drive).
We wanted a hotel centrally located in the Loire Valley with lots of French charm. If you love the country side, this place is convenient for going east or west in Loire to visit the chateaux, with other local options such as: hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, hot air ballooning, etc. Our room was very spacious. No A/C, but it doesn't matter, the room was comfortably cool. Our bathroom had a bath tub with a hand held shower, not unlike many hotels in Europe. I highly recommend this chateau. Staff is very accommodating. You might want to brush up on your French! Americans would probably call it a B & B. Free wireless Wi-Fi in sitting area. The night sky with the stars is absolutely amazing. Works for families &/or romantics.
This place is categorically not an Hotel! It is an impressive chateaux set in very nice gounds where ther are chalets for family occupation and a vatiety of animals - good fun if that's what you want. However what we wanted was a comforatble 'hotel' in which to stay with all the usual 'hotel' facilities and that's what we thought we had booked. What we got was a basic room, with a basic continental breakfast for how much? €125! No bar, no restaurant, and several Km into town for something to eat after driving all day. No wonder it is not listed anywhere else as a 'hotel' and why my satnav showed the location as the middle of a field!
Beautiful building in a beautiful setting. The owner was very helpful and waited for us even after the check in time. There is a list of restaurants available for the evening and breakfast is included. The hotel is very quiet and in a park with animals to see. We did not use the swimming pool only because of the weather!
Absolutely too cool to stay at an old chateau. None.
The owner was very friendly & helpful. The room was comfortable for a family of 4. Delicious breakfast!
It was out in the country - when we woke up we could see the horses in the meadow. The rooms were lovely, the owner was very friendly and we had a wonderful stay even though the weather did not allow for use of the pool. It was a great place from which to visit the chateaux. It was a bit hard to find and like most of the hotels in France, the tub would benefit with the addition of a shower curtain.
Very quiet, chaming and great place. We took our pre-wedding photos at the chateau. All of the photos are beautiful and we have excellent experience.
Nice surroundings, very nice and thoughtful landlady, tasty french breakfast, something like a zoo around the building (lamas, horses, peacocks E.T.C.). We didn't test the waterpool because of weather, but it really exists. WiFi signal was quite weak in our room, at the same time it was perfect into the common room next to ours (seems like the walls are too thick). But since we were almost alone in this building - it was Ok.
Staying in the main chateau was fantastic - a real treat. The room was a family room and it was very spacious. Four poster bed, full access to swimming pool and grounds. The children particularly liked the animals in the grounds. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Not applicable.
Nice view on the river, good food in the restaurant Service in the restaurant - we waited 25 min until somebody took the order for drinks
Best hotel in the town, good location in the city centre, magnificnet panorama over river Cher from rooms and the restaurant; excellent gourmet restaurant; newly furnished rooms with comfortable beds; large bathroom 90% of staff not speaking English at all and menu in the restaurant only in French so we had a troubles when ordering meal.. Restaurant opening hours limited - we arrived at 14.00 and it was already closed..
The diner was superb. The noise from the street.
Nice view for the window Staff shuold speak English better
good location, easy parking, surprisingly good restaurant,
Nothing Outer door to room opened into the bathroom
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Great access to the village and beach opposite. Access into hotel - up steps and door opened outwards. Not a problem for someone who is fit but my husband has Parkinson's and carrying luggage in and out was difficult
It lies directly on the river Cher. The bedroom was fairly big and well-furnished with a flat-screen TV. Both the bedroom and the bathroom had big sliding windows. The corridors and stairs are dismal and have obviously not been refurbished for at least 30 - 40 years. The bath was grubby with grey stains and the bathroom in need of redecoration. The only 3-star thing about the hotel is the price.
Suite very confortable Staff a little bit "cold"
The room was clean and comfortable and the evening meals were excellent Not told price of aperitif and got a shock when the bill arrived.
clean comfortable room, big bathroom, very good restaurant no air conditioning, the hostess is too conceited
Pierre was very friendly. Excellent continental breakfast. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom sink and shower are open to the rest of the room while the toilet was in its own little private side closet near the room's entrance. Wi-fi worked well. It is out in the country, but it is a very short drive from Chateau de Chenonceau (15 minutes or so). Parking is easy and is plentifully available on the grounds. no complaints. We highly recommend.
At breakfast we looked out of the window and watched the deer amongst the vines The room was cold when we arrived.a:because of exceptional weather conditions b: because its their first year of business and they did not know whether there would be any clients in winter so the heating was not fully effective until the next morning.
wonderful location in a working vineyard, beautifully restore bard conversion made for exceptional accommodation capped off with wonderful hospitlity from our hosts.
Innovative designs and very unusual
Authentic rennovated farmhouse in quiet area near to vines. Very warm reception by owners. Accept animals. Confortable spacious bed and room. Excellent continental breakfast Difficult to locate without a GPS, no local signs to indicate the way
We enjoyed the friendly owners, helpful advice, great service & wines, the history of the Prieure, the estate grounds - everything it has to offer Only that 2 nights were not enough...
Very warm welcome by the hosts. Nice departure point for visiting the Castles in the Loire area by car.
Great place to live out your castle fantasy, it really is an authentic old priory. We rented the suite and it was huge, and very romantic Only the shower, a handheld in a bathtub with no curtain, I have never really understood how to use these, without soaking the room, perhaps North Americans lack the coordination of Europeans.
The setting for this B and B is beautiful, you feel like you are staying in a mini castle. The attached 12th century chapel added to the historical flavour of this accomodations. The owner is very helpful in proving idea's for local day trips that can be done in the area. The website of the accomodation claimed that they accepted Visa. When we tried to pay visa, the owner tried to process the card and the card apparently couldn't be authorised. Subsequent usage of this card at other suppliers posed no problems that day.... we didn't receive a receipt for payment either and ended up paying with cash instead... I had the impression the credit card machine might have been defective prior...
