Overview Reviews
With a stay at La Chambre 21 in Entrevaux, you'll be 18.3 mi (29.4 km) from Valberg and 27 mi (43.4 km) from Gorges du Verdon. Guests will find features like a car charging station.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This has been the hardest review to write from the recent holiday largely because I don't want my comments to be seen as overtly negative. They are intended to help those following, who choose this property, to get the most out of it. Its located in the very old part of Entrevaux. There is no access to it by car the nearest you can get is about a 100 yds away and parking is in the public car park nearby ( which seemed reasonably secure.). Its the top floor of a private house , 3 floors up a spiral staircase so A MINIMUM AMOUNT OF LUGGAGE is highly recommended. Its lovely, airy , quiet with a balcony overlooking the roof tops where you can sit out and have breakfast. Although there are a maze of narrow streets/ alleys in the old part there are 3 restaurants within 5 minutes walk and in the absence of traffic its a lovely spot to have a quiet evening meal. The owner who lives below is charming and she brings breakfast up in the morning ( including scrambled eggs) which was excellent.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: La Chambre 21 is located in the heart of the town. The private balcony was lovely, allowing us to enjoy a bottle of wine in the evening. The host, Marie was so kind to us, and the beakfast she provided was amazing.
Cons: Not applicable.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host Marie was excellent, breakfast was delicious. Marie was extremely helpful and made our stay very satisfying. If we travel this way again we will definitely be staying here. Would totally recommend this unique bed n breakfast. Can’t compliment our host enough. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very cute and well appointed and the hostess Marie was very communicative, helpful, and kind.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Our host was charming and the breakfast exceptional. The balcony was an ideal place to enjoy a glass of rose, thoughtfully provided. The location was right in the heart of the old town.
Cons: There was no air conditioning, although in fairness that might be because of planning restrictions due to the location
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Room with balcony, which really made it for us. Without the balcony the room would have been less pleasant. Not sure there were any other rooms with a balcony. No communal area for guests, so breakfast served in our room - or in our case, on the balcony. Good breakfast. In addition to the normal complimentary bottle of water there was a complimentary half bottle of a decent red wine - a nice touch.
Cons: Don't stay here if you find steep stairs difficult. No car access to the old village at all, so you have to carry your luggage for a couple of hundred yards of (delightful) narrow winding cobbled streets
La Becassiere - Thorenc - Building

9.5 Excellent (82 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located on a 6000 m² garden with an outdoor seating area, La Becassiere B&B is set on an estate built in the 19th century. You can enjoy gourmet cuisine in the conservatory, which has garden views. Decorated in a Moroccan, African or Russian theme, the guest rooms have free Wi-Fi access. Some of the rooms offer a view of the garden and mountains. Free toiletries are provided in the private bathrooms. A continental breakfast, including 12 different jams, is prepared every morning at this bed and breakfast, and you can enjoy a drink from the bar. During summer, you can enjoy a drink on the terrace. Homemade meals are also available on site, upon request at least 24 hours before arrival. Gréolières Les Neiges ski resort is located 17 km away and Taulane Golf Club is a 20-minute drive from this property. There are shops in the village, just 800 metres away.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The home-like feeling, the hospitality, the views, the food, the way the house is decorated. Everything exceeded our expectations. Excentric, beautiful place with immaculate view. Owners are very helpful and made us feel very welcomed. Home made jams for breakfast served in the garden was like a cherry on top of the cake. We fell in love with hospitality and the house itself. Only recommended to open minded people. You don't get the key to the room but there is no need to lock it as it feels like home of an excentric auntie. If you're searching for a quiet, lovely place and are looking for an adventure like stay, go for it. You won't be disappointed.
5.4 Okay
Pros: host were kind
Cons: We ordered the "suite" which turned out to be 2 separate rooms, one of which had a small bathroom, located in the attic (3rd floor), separated from the rest of the house by a curtain. Though ordered and paid for 2 nights stay, and though the host were kind we preferred to leave after one night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very tasty dinner and brakfast!
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a lovely stay at La Becassiere. Beautiful location and surroundings, very peaceful and the hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful stay in this fairy tale house and none of us wanted to leave. We had a dinner with Florence and Maurice and really enjoyed all the delicious food and very warm atmosphere they create around. Breakfast was just perfect for us with 15 homemade jams. The weather was nice and it was served outside on the terrace with the gorgeous view. Also we got so many tips where we could go nearby. It couldn't have been more perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An old big house, well refurbished, in a magic natural place, with very interesting interior design, with special, charming owners: Florence and Maurice. They gave us wonderful moments at dinner, Maurice is a good chef and they are agreeable companions. We hope we`ll meet again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful property, every room has its own theme and there are everywhere tiny details that perfect the place. Breakfast was wow, with a big number of incredible home-made jellies, prepared by the owner himself! We also had dinner with our hosts, food was also great, again home-made by the owner, a real gourmet experience!
Cons: -
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hosts. Very friendly and informative. Lots of local info. Great food, excellent cooking with local ingredients. Maurice (host) is a fountain for culinary information and a fantastic cook. It really feels like staying with generous distant relatives who live in an amazing home. The decoration and style of interior is very personal and therefore not to every one's taste, but it is certainly unique and an experience to see. So refreshing, when today all hotels look the same. Birds chirping, garden blossoming. Lots of walks to do and local area to explore. Can highly recommend it, perhaps especially a little out of season for lots of peace and quiet.
Cons: Everything about the stay at La Becassiere was perfect. What is a little irritating are just the motorists and motor bikers using the valley as their racing track, with roaring bike noise every now and then. Shame the council doesnt put radar cameras along the road. 100% of bikers are criminally speeding on these country roads. Would bring lots of money and keep the peace and quiet which makes this place so fantastic. But I guess the passing bikers are a big source of income for local business.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Old fashioned but fully renovated building with amazing interior decoration. Good stopover if ttavelling through mountains. Very welcoming owners. Exquisite chef's dinner in homely atmosphere!

Cons: The chalet was very basic but good value.

Pros: Fantastic site close to many attractions and places to see, the hosts were very friendly and happy to help at all times.

6.3 Good
Pros: 1. Proximity to Castellane 2. Ability to order fresh bread for collection the following mornin. 3. Creek and playground equipment for children. 4. Laundry facilities.
Cons: 1. Master double bed very small but this was expected given it is a caravan. We hardly slept due to not being accustomed to such a small bed. 2. On our 2nd night, a very noisy party with loud music and karaoke went on until almost midnight. We would have appreciated the hosts notifying us at check-in given that our caravan was only 20 metres from the party. 3. No air con however, it did cool down due to the high altitude.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation is situated in a quiet dead-end street, just outside the village centre, close to a large supermarket. It is run by a very sympathetic, helpful, social couple. Both did their utmost to make the best of our stay. My son and I were offered an upgrade to a more spacious room, with seperate beds and a balcony. An extra early breakfast, on the day of our visit to the Verdon Gorge, was no problem. The food offered was fresh, varied and plenty - we could even make our lunch!
Cons: No points of improvement - keep up the high standard!

Pros: Breakfast was delicious and the host was really lovely. We would definitely be coming back to stay again.

Pros: The room is very nice and quiet, tastefully decorated. The owner is a lovely lady and very friendly. I also had use of a secure garage for my motorcycle. WI-FI connection is very very good in the room, this facility is really important for people traveling. I recommend that you come and stay here.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Our host was very helpfull. Even though she didn't speak English that well, she helped us pick an awesome hiking route. The hallways and rooms are decorated with love. Parking was a breeze, and the breakfast was extensive.
Cons: Check in time was very restricted.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We wish the host was more welcoming and friendlier with her guests. That would have completed a perfect stay because the rest was almost perfect. Nice and clean ensuite room, very good breakfast. We would happily stay again at this place. Abdul & Fatima
Cons: The host.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The guest house was very nice, very near to the center, so quite, with my own balcony, everything was really comfortable! And the best housekeeper! Very kind and hostess! Thanks
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very friendly and helpful!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our breakfast made us feel like we were French eating at home. This made our stay very authentic. Our hostess knew a little English and we knew a little French, and it was very fun to try to figure things out together. She was a very friendly hostess. The house is lovely and it is beautifully decorated with great thought. Its location near the Verdun Gorge helped make our day at the gorge hugely successful. I loved sitting on the balcony with its great views and the birds singing. Castellane is striking with the huge rock with a church at the top. Be sure to eat at the Alpes family restaurant down the street. The food was very tasty and the service very friendly. Parking is nearby and easily accessible.
Cons: A sign for "B&B Rooms Available" is much more prominent than the name Aqui Sian Ben which made it tricky to find. Only sheer curtains on the window could be a problem for a light sleeper. The WiFi connection was poor, likely due to the mountain location, but a problem for staying in touch with family.

Pros: Such a great property and location. We loved the serenity of it. We stayed in the provided tents and they were more than sufficient for our two night’s stay. The stars at night were amazing. The restaurant/communal area was lovely. Place to bbq, buy some drinks/breakfast/ice cream. The ablution blocks were always clean and more than enough facilities. Very close to Castellane which is a superb little village that has so much to offer. We were pleasantly surprised.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: As the name suggests. Its calm and nature at its finest. Brillant camp site in the most stunning place. We stayed in the family chalet. It was perfect. From views to all home comforts needed. Castellane is a beautiful town nearby. Lots of activities available nearby in the gorges du verdon. Great to have free use of bikes also. Food from restaurant is fabulous. Hosts were very nice people, so obliging. Would love to return here
9.6 Excellent
Pros: What we loved about this camp site was that it was the exact opposite of a resort, a proper campsite, low key without all the fuss and fancy entertainment. A real family feel to it , run as a family business. We had the ecolodge which is the only ecolodge on the site and has a lovely position. We enjoyed relaxing at the mini bar/cafe in the evenings. Easy access to Castellane and the rest of the Verdon.
Cons: No river in walking distance to swim in. But we swam everyday in the gorge.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful campsite, beautiful location. Well set out with plenty of space round my tent. The best thing- the site lights were turned out quite early- I could sit by my tent and see millions of stars! Oh, and the resident dog is lovely.
Cons: Can't fault this site- everything I was wanting.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic place! Great hosts
Cons: a bit expensive
7.9 Good
Pros: Very quiet and peaceful place to spend a few days. The family that run the campsite are really nice. The place was very clean and well looked after.
Cons: We haven't stayed in a caravan in a long time and expected slightly more space. The bed was very small and difficult for 2 people to really sleep (and we are smaller than average). The food at the restaurant on site was pretty basic too. Next time we'll probably pay the extra for a gite.
6.7 Good
Pros: Great view & very peaceful.
Cons: Toilet block was not as clean as expected, no campers kitchen or fridge available.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The mobile house is set in a large, green and beautiful site. It is a very tranquille stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We had a really pleasent stay at camping calm et nature ! The staff are the most kind and our mobilhome was perfect. Really charming place, far from the route, so we were in the midle of the nature, yet easy acess.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The campsite is in a beautiful location and the owners were extremely friendly, kind and helpful. The menu in the on site bar/cafe is small but the food is really tasty and good value for money. The coffee is also excellent. We stayed in an adventure tent and it was very comfortable and clean. We hired towels and sheets, which was convenient and easy to do. We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this lovely family-run campsite.
Cons: The showers are quite small so it can be hard to keep your clothes dry. They could have used a clean but it was the end of the season and they weren't very dirty, just needed a good wipe down.

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and laundry facilities. Event facilities at this hotel consist of conference space and a meeting room. 7.1 Good
Pros: The hotel was well located. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and nicely furnished and stylish. The pool was small but nice to refresh after the day and had a nice little bar. Breakfast had a nice variety of food and was good (buffet style).
Cons: The corridor carpet could use more regular vacuuming. There is a back room with a TV behind the reception and I was quite surprised how old and decrepit all the furniture was there, including sofas with upholstery that was torn. This was strange as the decor in front of the lobby was very nice. The bed wasn't comfortable and had a weird texture like it was made of hay. There were concerts on the plaza until 11pm so not a good place if you want to sleep early.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location on quaint square in small mountain village. Absolutely lovely pool area with a poolside bar. Super nice staff. Private parking area. We had a very nice stay, only sad we only booked one night.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved this little hotel in centre of town. Lovely outdoor pool area and gardens. Interior is in places modernised and funky, but dining room and lounge frumpy still. This didn't matter to us as we were outside. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment. Lovely staff, helpful. I would stay here again.

Pros: Wonderful hotel in the centre of town. Beautiful gardens and pool and areas to relax. Room was really lovely and very comfortable.
Cons: Nothing at all, except I didn’t have a swimming costume - but that was my fault not the hotels.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location
Cons: There was no cold water in the room, so we had to change it. The new one was rather small and noisy with the view to the back side of the other building
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel great position in Castillane, good parking, very friendly very comfortable nothing negative.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, lovely hotel and friendly staff.
Cons: We were sold an amazing breakfast, available until 10. We arrived in the dining room at 9.20 and virtually nothing left, other than cereal. No bread, bacon, pancakes, sausages. I asked and mostly the food was replenished (no bacon) but I kind of felt we were being a nuisance for asking and to be honest I shouldn’t have to ask.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Well situated with good parking facilities. Nice breakfast
Cons: Room was quite small

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The surrounds were beautiful Pools were set overlooking the golf course and the facial I had at the Spa was so relaxing Rooms were clean and comfortable with generous amount of towels and bathrobes Staff friendly and food good.
Cons: Golf green fees and buggy hire and spa treatments were on the expensive side but comparable to other places and it was high season
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Correct breakfast. Good view on the landscape and the golf course. Quiet place. Perfect for golfing. Easy access of everything. Nice staff at reception. Convenient bathroom with large shower place (except bath Inside the room). Very green golf, well maintained with large putting greens
Cons: No fitness center. Outside good restaurants very far. Need to develop several walking trails Inside the property, including climbing the surrounding mountains.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely, large room. Good toiletries and furnishings. Beautiful view, lovely atmosphere outside in the evening. The minibar fridge didn't work and the room wasn't set up as a twin, even though requested. They eventually offered a room on a different floor but my children didn't want to go through the pain of moving.
Cons: The Maitre D in the restaurant was so full of his own self-importance that he failed to notice we were left seated for twenty minutes with no drinks, food or even service. We kept trying to attract the attention of staff but they swept by us, seemingly oblivious of the table of four seated in the middle of the restaurant. My husband eventually shouted at a member of staff to get their attention. It's utterly inexcusable, particularly as they are letting down the kitchen staff who are turning out very good food. As a result, we ate anywhere BUT the hotel after that and would not feel comfortable about recommending the place to friends because there are few other options to eat well in the area.
7.9 Good
Pros: Golf course and views are spectacular.
Cons: Showers and toilet have been designed by someone who has never used either. Some modernisation would go a long way. Little things like too many doors and a shower head that sprays horizontally are easy to fix.
7.9 Good
Pros: I liked the fact there were many aminities, such as golf, practice, nice spa and inside swimming pool with outside bed and a wonderful view
Cons: - There were No aircon in the room and inside the chateau is really hot. - very old client - The tennis court were in renovation - The restaurant marquise de lisle is too old and the food is not amaizing for the price The hotel needs to be renovated
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Bed too firm
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The chateau is wonderful. The furniture in the rooms is not living up to the building and location. The location is splendid. Breakfast was really good. And the golf course is one of my favourite courses in the world. Although they keep it a bit too wet. Still fantastic.
Cons: The rooms would benefit from having more personality. There would be good to have a library/billiards room/bar where one could meet other guests.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Chateau rooms, golfcourse
Cons: No swimming pool outside
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice and beautiful hotel.
Cons: There was problem with the WiFi and they try only a few minutes to fix it. And they failed to fix it. And we spent three days without WiFi. In addition the light in the bathroom was weak. So there was a little dark in the bathroom.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is very quiet and in a spotless natural environment. Hope to visit this place again.
Cons: we booked the cheapest room and it was very small but if you book the other categories you will get bigger rooms for sure.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The physical environment & breakfast was fine. Indeed the outloom was beautiful. I would have liked to have a TV but altho I hadnt noticed before i arrived, there wasnt one - but that's ok.
Cons: Apparently the owner hadnt received any email from you and wasnt expecting me. She didnt seem pleased to see me although, after indicati ng that I'd fi d the town hotels would have no vacances, she said i cld stay for tne period booked for the time i had booked and (i assume without checki g) paid for, but id have to leave by 10am Sunday as she had otner guests coming then. Of course i had no problem with that although i felt a bit uncomfortable. I felt more so however on tne morning i was to leave when, mostly packed & little more to do, I was having breakfast witn 2 other guests when she entered & made a reference again to my having to leave by 10am - as if i was a less important guest, and/or could have forgotten! She also told me to leave the key in the lock when i left, which i took to mean also that i need only leave, not see her again. Look she was ok i guess but lets say i felt i wasnt welcome but only there under sufferance, for something which wasnt my fault. She had a big, bright smile which i couldnt take at facevalue. I was also verging on cold while there but didnt ask her for anything extra eg bedding or a heater so I cant blame her for this but to an extent this didnt want to approach her more than necessary.

9.6 Excellent

Pros: If you are in this part of the World then this is the place to stay. It has its own character, but that is charming. We were lucky to get one of Cabane rooms and it will be a highlight of our trip! It even included the visit of a very friendly cat as we sat outside watching the stars after an excellent meal, which alone is worth the visit.
Cons: That we could not stay longer! :)
Hotel Des Alpes - Guillaumes - Building

8.8 Excellent (236 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Des Alpes in Guillaumes, you'll be a 5-minute drive from Valberg and 8 minutes from Daluis Gorge.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything was new, clean, modern, comfortable and well thought of. Kitchen is small but amazingly equipped with everything. The bathroom is large and comfortable, same with the bed. Beautiful light in the morning and very well lit at night. Breakfast in the balcony was a definite highlight.
Cons: The access is quite confusing, you have to go through the bar/kiosk that faces the street into a side door that leads to the stairs. Once there everything works perfectly and you get access to another foot that goes directly into the street for easier and free access whenever you want. We didn't know but we came in early May and it was low season, there was nothing open to have dinner. Had to drive to Valberg, 20min away. Can't complain anyway because the road is amazing. Advice if you don't want to drive, buy some food at the groceries 1 block away and eat in the balcony of your room facing the mountains.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, great location, very gracious hosts. Practical kitchenette. Lovely small balcony overlooking central square of charming village.
Cons: All good. We immediately booked another night.

Pros: Meticulously clean. A modern bathroom, most likely renovated pretty recently. Air conditioner, which we did not even expect and didn’t have to use, but it is nice that it is there. Great value. If we travel in the area we would definitely like to stay there again.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, nice location in a quite and calm town.
Cons: Staff does not speak any English or German, just French, so communication is rather difficult for non-French speakers.

Pros: The balcony. The view. The very friendly owner. The friendly bar staff and their customers. The town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room with a well appointed kitchen. Convivial café below. Well run by the “angel of Guillaume.”
Cons: Rien
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Room was small but had everything it needed, even a Nespresso machine with complimentary coffee. Bathroom and toilet was separate, which is a bonus, room had AC and you couldn't hear the bar downstairs.
Cons: Tabac bar downstairs is very practical but service is a bit slow.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were extremely surprised during our stay. You see a bar/cafe/hotel in one in a small village and go inside. Full of locals and a French only speaking owner. Very friendly guy, a nice renovated cosy room and a very good restaurant across the street. Breakfast was one of the best we have had (in France to mention!!). Big fresh croissant and chocolate rolls, good coffee and juice. A place to recommend.
