Pros: Bedroom and bathroom were very nice and the bed was very comfortable. The owner was very pleasant and very accommodating. The view of our room was splendid. Breakfast was simple but just right.
Cons: The only thing I was not so keen about was the staircase going up. It would not be convenient if you have a big suitcase to carry. Good that our luggages were not so big.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A fantastic welcome from the owners and a lovely, comfortable and very clean room. The kitchen was a very welcome extra, allowing us to have some simple evening meals after too many days of restaurants on this trip. The breakfast provided by the owners was excellent. There are some great walks in the surrounding Morvan countryside and you don’t have to drive anywhere. It’s a lovely place to be and we’d happily have stayed longer if a room had been available.
Cons: Everything was great

Pros: A lovely stay in a beautiful house! Angelique was so lovely and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious. We were only passing through, we wish we could have stayed longer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely bed and breakfast in Morvan.. This house has retained its old charm but the rooms have been renovated to a very high standard. Just lovely with number of antiques in our room. The breakfast was great and we were taken care of by the lovely Angelique.
7.9 Good
Pros: Beautiful house in the middle of the forest and fields of the Morvan regional park. The garden, in which we had dinner, has some stunning trees up to 160 years old. The charming owners did as much as they could to make us and our baby comfortable and were very accommodating. They even recommended a spot to gaze at the night sky, which is great in this region.
Cons: Sadly, there must have been a hornet nest nearby, because the second night we had four huge hornets in our room! They were almost two inches long and we were very scared that they would sting out 9-month baby. We had to leave the room and wait, but they never went away, so the owners came and killed them. This took ages and we barely slept that night as the baby had her sleep pattern altered. They were genuinely surprised that we would open the windows with our lights on and they assumed that we knew about hornets, which they said are very common (in ten years travelling around Europe and staying in rural setting this is the first time I ever have had any in my room, though). We could not stay with the baby in the high temperatures this summer inside a room with closed windows, it was just too hot! They were very understanding and helpful; they called booking on my behalf to cancel the last night, so at least I did not pay the full reservation. It is a pity, some window nets would have solved the problem, it is unreasonable to ask the guests to stay in their rooms with their windows closed when you don't have air conditioned. Also, dinner was not as good as other comments here suggest. It was lovely to share it with the other guests in that beautiful setting, and the owners put their heart to it. But the food was barely ok for 23 euros each (we had hake with some sauce and white rice). For only 30 euros per person we had an amazing lunch in a Michelin-recommended restaurant in Vezelay the next day!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A great hospitality, very friendly, helpful, in a very Nice house a la campagne. The breakfast and diner was very good and so Nice to eat together with the French owners and gasts,
Cons: Everything was great

Pros: Great breakfast, friendly owner and very resourceful place
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A uniqe place, lovely hosts, wonderfull!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A perfect break to enjoy the Morvan forest. You find yourself in a family-run B&B, located by a lake, with an incredible view, cared for by the finest hosts. It’s tastefully decorated with antiques and curious objects, as they also run an antiques shop. Breakfast is delicious, fresh and organic. Many things to do around, from short walks in the forest (including a lovely cascade), to cultural and archeological sites from a 15 min drive. Thank you, we’ll be back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's hard to describe what a special place this is. It's a beautiful old house, restored and updated without compromising its character. It's on a crossroads in the middle of the forest, with a brook at the bottom of the garden and the lake (etang) just beyond - very peaceful and relaxing. The forest itself has some really good walks, especially the gorges de la Canche - just down the road. Monique and Elias were very friendly and welcoming. The room was large and comfortable, with a few quirks which meant it didn't feel like just a hotel room. The view from the room was excellent. Breakfast was very good - even better because we were able to have it outside. A wholehearted recommendation.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful time, Monique and Elias are terrific - they helped us out with everything we needed! It is beautifully located by the pond, perhaps even prettier than on the pictures. The house is in stellar condition, while keeping it authentic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Had lovely meals in Chateau-Chinon, all recommendations from the owners.
Cons: Nothing at all
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, helpful hosts Monique and Elias welcomed us to their delightful home situated in the Morvan Regional Natural Park - well situated for hiking right from their doorstep along paths, trails and minor country roads. They loaned us detailed walking maps and gave great advise about the surrounding countryside. Comfy beds, use of their kitchen for lunch and / or dinner and a cozy lounge to relax in were all pluses.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We felt harmony here, it is difficult to express... the only noise was the sound of the river. Once I read that according to feng shui principles a river must flow by some specific angle relative to the house. When I looked out of the window, I felt It is exactly the right angle and the whole landscape was just fantastic (regardless of our trust in this old Chinese practice). We are grateful to Monica and Elias, obviously they understand what led people here, They managed to create unique atmosphere inside, carefully preserving authentic interior of the old house without compromising comfort (and breakfast was also great!). During our stay it wasn't just a hotel, it was our home.
Cons: probably not for those who is insensitive to nature
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great service! The room and the whole hotel was clean and comfy. We'd like to thank Monica and Elias for being extremly helpful and pleasant.

Pros: The hospitality. Family run. Lovely breakfast out on the patio.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our favorite place during our week-long driving tour around the south of France. The home was beautiful, breakfast was great and location was spectacular. A small quiet area, with only a few homes but just a few kilometers away from anything you need in the neighboring towns. Cyril, the owner, was super friendly and great to work with! Would absolutely stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: First of all I want to thank Cyril for all his hospitality, care and help! It’s the sweetest host I’ve ever met! He’s very kind, interesting and friendly :) The apartment is super: very very clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. You’ll have everything you need there and if something is missing Cyril will take care of this :) Big and comfortable bed, light pillows, soft towels, beautiful and green terrace, safe and very quiet area. We’ve changed 10 apartments during our trip and Cyril’s was my favorite :) I recommend to visit this small town, it’s cozy, located in wonderful Morvan, close to beautiful lakes and people are so kind there!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: L'Escale du Banquet is to be found in a tiny little village, called Mhère in the Morvan. The apartment is on the ground floor and the owner lives above. The apartment is spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated with a luxury bath, a treat when you arrive tired. It also has a private terrace, a bonus for warm summer evenings.
Cons: The only downside is perhaps the fact that there are no restaurants or shops close by. But the friendly owner informs you on beforehand by whats-app about the possibilities, including bring your own drinks and meal which you can heat in the microwave.

Pros: Everything

Pros: The whole experience was delightful. The house is wonderful and full of lovely artifacts and stuff. The hosts are colourful characters and look after you as friends. Yann is an outstanding chef. The evening meal was foodie heaven, breakfast was uniquely lovely. This is a place to enjoy rather than just stopover in. Secure garage for bikes. Idyllic location. Chill with a huge C!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean south facing room, superb evening meal by Yann.
Cons: Nothing really.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Oh my god ! I have never laughed so much than at this French-Walish (like me) gîte. Linda & Yann are wonderful people. Linda is like a mom giving you the rest of your breakfast for a walk in the country, so green, quite and fresh. Yann, a former French cook in the famous Paris Nightclub, the Palace, is in the kitchen specially for you. He speak French (of course) and English and Jokes ! But becareful : if you want powder sugar or not on your croissant and "pain au chocolat" at breakfast you'd better clear that xase before going to bed... If you want to be quite, you can go read beside the sweet little river The Cure, if you want to walk and visit you go to the Gouloux falls, if you want to swim there is the so fresk Lake of the Settons. You will rememeber it all year long (like me) when you are stressed at work - better than yoga. I was there for a wedding of my best old friend's son and I forgot my dresses at the Clapotis (sound of the little river) and thay found my friend to give it back to her. Ain't it so sweet ?! So you understand : I loved it.
Cons: I did not appreciate not to stay longer !

Pros: Very welcoming and generous hosts, both, that only want you to be comfortable and happy. Really everything is thought off, more than you need. Spacy room and bathroom with water/coffee/tea facilities and everything you could wish for in a bathroom. The best, tasty, most complete, professionally presented breakfasts ever, either English or continental. The personal information on restaurants, nice places to go to ... Perfect location, if you like the calm of nature and for visiting the surrounding (abundant) places of interest. All by all this one will make part of our 'petites adresses' list. Thank you, Yann and Linda !
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Welcoming hosts that invited us into their sitting room to watch the World Cup, which was much appreciated despite the result! Rooms were comfortable and well decorated with interesting details.
Cons: Breakfast could have had more variety though the jams and yoghurt were very good.

Pros: If you want to get away from it all and stay with very welcoming hosts this is the place. Full of rustic charm in a very quiet location(rush hour traffic consists of 2 or 3 cars between 7:30 and 8:30. Joshi and Pim are so welcoming. You are treated as long lost friends. Nothing is too much trouble. We found the few last Km's difficult to navigate. Joshi volunteered to stand outside the property to ensure we did not miss it. As local restaurants were closed the evening we arrived Joshi offered to provide a simple meal. It was very welcome. Breakfasts were simple consisting of nearly all homemade ingredients with jams and yoghurt particularly scrummy. The countryside is beautiful and a great areas for hiking/walking.
Cons: Whilst we anticipated the remoteness you must be prepared for the degree of remoteness.

Pros: The location of castle in the hills of the thinly populated, rural Morvan, the host Margreet , the two horses and dogs. I arrived in the afternoon on a very warm day, was shown to my room by Margreet's son, then had a beer sitting outside in front of the castle just taking in the feel of the place and chatting with some of my fellow guests, observing the animals. I felt totally relaxed right up to the moment I had to leave the next day. Dinner was great and 'gezellig' as they say in Dutch. it was a one-night stop on a road-trip for me this time, but I will definitely be back.

2.9 Mediocre
Pros: The breakfast was very good and well presented and Ursula took care of our food intolerances. The interior design is nice, the common room is comfortable and spacious and we could dispose of the fridge and the other basic amenities.
Cons: * The room was uncomfortable, we asked for a twin bed and we had tho single bed without notice by the owner. The ventilation of the room was poor, there is no window in the bathroom and the window of the room doesn't correctly open. There weren't summer bed sheets. Moreover there were full of ants! The room is also very noisy because it's exposed on the road, so from the early morning you can hear tractors, lorries, the school bus etc. * The wi-fi worked really bad. * Ursula was practically unhelpful and disagreeable when we explained our problems.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Seriously this B&b is a hiden jewel and I should keep quite about it so I can have it for my exclusive use. The rooms are basic but very clean in a nice quite location with a fabulous garden to sit in and sunbathe, simply great for a relaxing stay. Bikes are available if you want to ride and horse riding is also possible, the location is right on the edge of a national park. The breakfasts were fantastic with fresh products with high quality components and as an overall package for the money simply the best! Highly recommended for couples.
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: Host went out of her way to receive us at around 23:00 on Friday night as we had a long drive from Zurich. That was much appreciated. Also tasty breakfast, clean room, bikes available to borrow and a cool store nearby that sells handmade soap.
Cons: Location is a bit remote so you’ll need to drive a bit to visit main sights. We didn’t mind and actually enjoyed the peaceful location but it’s something to be aware of.

Pros: The friendliness and helpfulness of the staf. Really great! Philippe and Lieke take care of the well being of their guests. Top of the experience were the evening meals, prepared by Philippe, a former chef of a top restaurant, with a full three course dinner every evening, shared by the guests in a real 'table d'hôte' style, discussing the experiences of the day and suggesting plans for the next. Our motorcycle could be safely stored in the propriety's garage. Very nice.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great surroundings, nice quiet and peaceful area. Nice old cottage from outside and newly refurbished rooms inside. It makes this place perfect for holiday or business stay. Short distance to motorway and Dijon. Place run by great couple that will make you fill like at home.
Cons: I liked all about this stay
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Too many instructions were given us on arrival, all the more as we were exhausted after driving.

Hostellerie du Vieux Moulin - Autun - Bedroom

5.4 Okay
Pros: The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was spacious. The bathroom was clean.
Cons: No air conditioning in our room. I need to wear a mask because I have sleep apnea..no electric plug near the bed but on the other side of the room. Toiletries very limited with just soap available. Obliged to leave the windows open to cool the room, fortunately the night cooled down. The chef apparently was taken ill with over heating consequently only available was a hard Charolais meat with some French fries. The special Delice du Moulin was mediocre.....and the price for all that was 133 Euros... Given the exceptional heat, it would have been a generous and humane gesture to offer a bottle of cold water for each person but you see, this is France whose hospitality still needs development...
10.0 Excellent

Cons: It was all good.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Delightfully querky! Excellent welcome en francais which tested our linguistic limits only for our host to slip into wonderful anglais later in the conversation and with a humour filled smile, great fun. Ate at the hotel in the Garden, great setting, great service and great food. Will not hesitate to return.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel. Big room - comfortable bed. Good sized bathroom The food provided in their restaurant was excellent. Not over fussy - nor over rich - just very tasty with top quality ingredients. [eg melon + serrano ham starter - some of the best such ham I've had] Very pleasant garden space to eat in / or earlier in the day to sit in, sip drinks, chat and relax and read. The walk into the town centre is about twenty minutes - going through a 1700 + year old arch to get there!
Cons: Not normally a problem I am sure - but no air con in our room.

Pros: Very good breakfast, helpful personal
Cons: Nothing
7.1 Good
Pros: Easy of access by car, in Couhard - just beyond Autun. Plenty of hot water and efficient shower. Table and chairs in our room.
Cons: We stayed four nights - a room with a view of town would have been good ! The need to be careful getting into the bed because of a roof beam above it. Lack of choice in the breakfast - some yogurt and/or fresh fruit would have been good, though congratulations on the crepes.
6.3 Good
Cons: Its was very warm in the bed room.
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was ok...location nice, but would not reccomend to anyone who has trouble walking up hill/steep incline...
Cons: Was noisy at night and early hours of the morning sometimes....
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was nice, continental with pancakes, toast and boiled eggs - assortment of teas and fresh coffee. The views from the rear of the property over Autun were lovely and the host, Philippe was very knowledgeable about the area and gave tips on places to visit. My young daughter took advantage of the trampoline, she was very impressed!
Cons: The room was large and clean although the linen and towels were a little dated and could do with renewing. These are small details as the quiet surroundings suited perfectly after a long drive through Italy for our stopover.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location easy to find with GPS. Some noise at night in the property unsure if from guests or who they were, but quietened around 11:30pm. Breakfast was plain but adequate.
Cons: OK for the tariff charged so no complaints really.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly guest house. Philippe, his family and staff take a genuine interest in their guests and made me feel very welcome. There is a lovely view over Autun and it is very close to a network of footpaths into the woods and hills. It is a very pleasant walk into Autun.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Room was large and clean. Breakfast was fabulous, the host bakes her own bread. It is quite close to Autun and has great views out over the town.
Cons: The shower needs an antislip mat, it felt a little dangerous.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Philippe was very helpful on all questions.

Cons: Pity the restaurant wasn't open in the evening.......but I did get an email when I booked to warn me.
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice location between two lakes. The breakfast was good and the staff friendly.
Cons: Our room was quite dark and small. Too expensive for what it is. You shouldn‘t arrive after the restaurant closes as there is no one at night. It happened to us that we didn‘t have the keys and nobody answered the emergency phone number. When we eventually reached the owner, he was not happy...

Pros: The hotel is charming and the staff lovely; the manager is a real ‘can do’ guy and so very helpful!
Cons: It cannot be helped, but a local cat sprays around the apartment, so if you are really not keen on cats that may put you off. The hotel staff dealt with it on their routine cleaning, however.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Okey cleaning. Rooms not too small. Easy parking
Cons: Low ceeling in cooridors and common areas. Rock-hard beds. Loud traffic noice. Too expensive for quality. If you do not travel by train this location is not the optimal in the city
5.8 Okay
Pros: Well located by the station and also easy to find in the car. On site free parking. Quick helpful responses from staff. Bathroom basins looked new and nice. Clean sheets. Very tidy. Nice old photos on the walls.
Cons: No staff onsite on Sunday after 4pm, when we arrived. The restaurant was closed on Sunday night. It didn't say this on the hotel profile. Only found after AFTER we'd booked and paid. Our names were not on the sign board list of expected residents, which indicated room numbers. So we didn't know if our booking had been cancelled or made on the wrong day, and there was noone to ask on site. Quite panic-inducing with tired children with us. No family rooms available so we'd booked a double and a twin and requested connecting rooms - none available but were told prior to arriving that we'd have rooms next door to each other, but the room numbers sent in the email were in completely separate wings of the hotel. I emailed from my phone and got a quick call back, with the right room numbers. Phew. Very noisy water pipes in the night - when other hotel users used the bathroom in the night the pipes made a frightful noise for ages. Shower head didn't stay in it's clip - kept falling on the floor of the cubical. This explained the black chips all over the shower tray, which looked like black mud from outside the cubical. Peeling paint on the skirting. Outside the window was a small courtyard (for staff) with table, chair and a large pot holding about 200 cigarette butts. Yuck. Clean them up. They smell.
