The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The location was perfect, it overlooked the lake and castle.
i had booked 2 double rooms and before i went there i tried to change one for a single room as one of the people could not travel and they said they had none, but when we were checking in another couple came in looking for a room and the girl at receptionist said they only had a single. my mum ended up paying for a double room and my 2 friends ended up staying in a double room.
The hotel was very clean and well presented. The rooms on the front have a great view of the Castle and lake. The two rooms my daughter and I were given were large enough, but would have been very crowded if two people were occupying each of them. The shower cubicle was the smallest I have ever stepped into in many years of travelling. Any movement to soap yourself made your body push off the water tap. The receptionist gave us the wrong key code for the front door, therefore, when we returned at 10.30pm, we could not get in. The bell for assistance had been turned off and, had we not been lucky enough to be around when other guests with the correct code arrived, well, I hate to think what we would have done.
The cleanliness of the rooms and the bathrooms. n/a
Perfect location with a lovely view of the castle and the lake. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large and appeared to have been recently redone. The wifi worked without any problems. We had no problems with public parking across the street from the hotel (November 1st). The downside of having a room with a view of the castle is that it is on the street side and it is a little noisy, but in no way a deal breaker.
Very clean room, mattress with good support (not self-evident in French hotel rooms in my experience), a magnificient view of the castle from the room, several small cafe around the lake (which is 10m from the hotel) to spend the evening.
The situation of the Hotel is excellent with views and lake and castle from the front. There was lots to do in the surrounding area. The Castle is well worth a visit, as is the site of the signing of the armistice a short drive away. The welcome was less than effusive. The rooms were adequate but basic. The room tab system was chaotic. Check the bill carefully to make sure that you haven't been charged for meals and drinks you haven't had. The restaurant food was poor and overpriced. The villagewas very touristy during the daytime.
Superb service, the host could not have been more helpful. Stunning view from hotel window of castle and lake. Excelent value for money ensuite rather cramped. Let them know in advance if a guest has mobility probems.
Hotel was clean, our room was clean/tidy and the bathroom obviously fairly recently been refurbished, shower was excellant and the added addition of the hairdryer was a bonus, however it may be an idea to add this to the room specification, as this is something we look for when booking a hotel usually. the view from mroom 321 was great
The room was big and has had a convenient bathroom. Nothing
The hotel was very basic and the breakfast was very poor for the price paid.
Staff quite friendly. Breakfast good. Lack of hot water
The breakfast is expensive.
Breakfast was very good, staff very helpful Room was very small
The rooms were very quiet, which was appreciated. The breakfast was very good. The dinner (vegetable lasagne, made with aubergine) was not good at all. Three of us ordered it and none of us enjoyed it. On the other hand, the waitress was very good to us, despite that she had an entire soccer team to serve at the same time.
That the hotel is close to Paris We arrived very late approx. 3 am - the night porter could only speak french however ours was not good enough. Fire alarm at 4.45 in the night - everybody was awake however no information was given what to do. It was a false alarm. Additionally we went to breakfast at 9.15 unfortunately the breakfast buffet was more than empty -however we were fully charged for it. No excuse - no sorry - it was a short stay but we will not forget this "special event" We were travelling with three children who - just fel asleep were awake again at 4.45...
Tea and Coffee facilities breakfast - was expensive, very little food - no baguettes, tea, few crossiants - had to keep having to ask for some food to eat although it was a help yourself buffet. We also didn't get the room that we booked, when we arrived we had to have two rooms - which although they gave us for the same price it was inconvwenient with two small children.
We had stayed in this hotel before and found it clean and pleasant. This stay the room was not very clean. Location, road works from Disneyland Park blocking off Meaux with no diversion signs. Took nearly an hour from Disney to the Hotel when it should have taken about 20 minutes.
Easy access to the airport and to Disney.
calm, nice rooms l'employé de l'accueil
I liked the convenient location for a through traveller, the friendly staff and the wide dinner menu choice. Nothing
It was an easy and cheap place to stay for the event I was attending close by.
Breakfast perfectly fine! Room fine too! Location not great...
Outstanding help at the front desk to confirm our plane reservation and give us directions. Room was in poor condition, especially the bathroom. Mildew on tile grout, not perfectly clean, smashed hole in bathroom door, baseboard in bedroom area across from bathroom was eroding. (room # 11)
More than adequate for a night's stay on the way to the port from a camping holiday. The staff were very friendly and helpful. -
It was near where I was attending - but the hotel itself was forgettable. 9 euros for breakfast - for me a cup of coffee and a piece of toast - too expensive.
Its location. We found it hard to get to because I did not lookout for a suitable map, but we had a very easy run to the motorway in the morning. I would choose the steak rather than the fish.
Everything fine in room, restuarant etc Quite easy to miss the sign and the turning when coming out of Meaux
Minor point, but no rubbish bin in the room. The breakfast buffet ran out of food on two of the three days we were there.
Proximity to train station and Eurodisney Parking and size of room
simple but clean, comfortable
Staff were courteous. Linens crisp and clean. Hotel is very basic, not much else to comment on. Did not have spare toilet paper, soap in the room on any day of our stay and as such we had to seek out the staff late at night when returned to the hotel for appropriate supplies. Asked for non-smoking room, but room still smelled of smoke.
The location is perfect for Paris and for Disneyland. Room keys fit all rooms!!
Clean basic hotel room with few amenities but well placed on the bend of the Marne and with ready access to backdoor Charles de Gaulle (if one has a GPS or knows the complicated set of routes to get there) in about 45 minutes..thus avoiding the frequent snarls of the A routes. The hotel appears to be in transition to a new owner As in previous reviews the lack of electrical outlets in the rooms are a problem as well as a slow drain sink pointed up previously. The shower bath worked well with instant hot water however.
It has a convenient location to Charles De Gaulle airport. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
The location at a bend in the Marne River was perfect for walks in the center of Meaux. The staff at the hotel were very helpful with restaurant suggestions. Parking was easy, in the underground hotel garage. There were no electrical outlets in the room or bath. I could not use my hairdryer, so wet hair was a decided disadvantage.
Booked quadruple room. Upon arrival it had changed to two doubles for us and our two kids. Next stay (one week later), there was no hot water, although they did give us a free breakfast to compensate.
Staff was kind and polite, dinner and breackfats were very good. The sleeping room was correctly warm.
Quiet area, close proximity to Disneyland which was purpose of our visit. Rooms are very tired looking, no hairdryer, uncomfortable pillows. Room was very hot when we arrived as heating had been left on full even though it was a warm evening. Mould in the bathroom, general low budget look and not what we have experienced when staying at a Campanile in France or the uk before. Was relatively expensive as similar type of hotel next door was offering rooms at 35 Euros.
It was only one night In general, I do not like any of the Campanile hotels; I booked it because it was the nearest to where we had to be that weekend
Spacious character bedroom, four poster bed, and super new bathroom.Secure parking in courtyard. Reception only in attendance after 5.00pm and in morning.Very helpful though.
Everything - a simply lovely hotel. No!
A lovely charming hotel with a friendly owner who makes you feel most welcome. The town is just beautiful, with many excellent restaurants close by and gives you a great experience of 'rural France' if you are limited for time.
Great location at the center of Villers-Cotterets. Free parking in the courtyard. Very friendly French/ English/ German speaking staff aiming to make you feel welcome and sharing the history of the region. Clean, functional rooms. Very nice overall atmosphere. Good breakfast for French standards. Good value for money! Beware of the attic rooms in August ... Il fait chaud!
Excellent family suite-spacious and well appointed. Very good breakfast. Very helpful staff.
the friendly and helpful staff, great place to stay
Charming courtyard, comfortable room, good location, courteous and helpful owner. Breakfast was minimal.
The picturesque location (small town, old redone building)
The proprieter was charming and multi-lingual and his attention to our needs as a family was faultless. The room was large and comfortable with lots of character, which reflected the hotel as a whole.
Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Central location made it easy to walk anywhere. Lovely situation. Breaksfast was a bit skimpy.
