10.0 Excellent
Pros: Truly one of the most magical places I have visited in a very long time. Comte de Ternay could not have been more charming and attentive. The chateau and grounds were stunning. The location is steeped in history and our host took us on a personalized tour which was fascinating. Our trip was just too short!
Cons: Our stay was too short. There is so much to discover that we didn't have a chance to.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful Chateau and location. Great tour given by owner. Very peaceful. Wish we could have stayed another night. Enjoyed their friendly pets.
Cons: Nothing. It was one of our favorite parts of our trip.
6.3 Good
Pros: The atmosphere of de Ternay was appropriate for this old chateau. Old and in need of a little more care but overall this added to the old world charm of the place. In many ways it has been 'frozen' in time and it portrays what life must have been like in times gone by. Dinner was served next to the fire place and with the wall hangings it made for a perfect setting.
Cons: The bed. The mattress in our room is in urgent need of being replaced. The night was not comfortable.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely Chateau. Room was quaint & charming. High ceilings & 4 poster small bed.was Bathroom good. Breakfast was good and dining room gorgeous. Quiet & beautiful surroundings. Hosts were very friendly.
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: An amazing experience, from the first welcome by the dogs and cat! The castle is incredible, our stay was like stepping back in time. The owners were so welcoming and the tour of the castle the owner gave us was so interesting and entertaining! Lovely continental Breakfast in the dining room.
Cons: Absolutely nothing, would highly recommend it. It’s slightly off the beaten track of the main Loire valley castles but totally worth the extra half hour in the car.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was the most amazing experience from the lovely greeting by the resident dogs to the excellent and warm service from the wonderful hosts (they even made a restaurant booking for us in nearby Loudon) not to mention sleeping in your very own room in a chateau! The bedrooms are very well appointed in the style of the day and the beds are very comfortable. The bathroom was a nice modern surprise! Breakfast was yummy with fresh croissants, spreads, bread and fruit. Make sure that you allow time for the Count’s tour of the chateau as it was a highlight!
Cons: Leaving!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely beautiful. The owner was very nice showing us go around the cattle and told us the stories behind it.
Cons: Noting
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The opportunity to stay in an authentic multigenerational Chateau in the french countryside was a privilege and pleasure. The count was amusing and entertaining on the tour he treated his guests to. The old family chapel is unique and beautiful. The countess is a charming and hardworking host, she met every request happily. The beds are comfortable and the amenities better than expected considering the age of the chateau Staying at Chateau de Ternay was definitely a Loire Valley highlight. An indulgence certainly but not to be missed! Easy parking by the Chateau.
Cons: Dinner needs to be pre booked, but a picnic in the beautiful grounds was encouraged and just as enchanting. Check your co ordinance well GPS can be misleading.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts - descended from the original owners (three centuries back) - were lovely, no airs and graces around them although they are living and running a chateau the queen wouldn't feel out of place in! And so reasonable compared with B&B's we also stayed in in France, very mundane affairs, no ensuite for not that much more. And if you like truffles, this is the chateau for you! Highly recommended.
Cons: I wish we had known there was a barn available for our motorbikes - they got soaked!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: it is a great view about the castle and around. The owner is very kind and his dog guided us go across the back garden. it is an extramely smart cibotium.

Pros: Very friendly and obliging hostess - nice house and garden.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely host Murielle looked after us beautifully and made us a cool drink on arrival as the area was in the middle of a heatwave. I love this place! Shabby chic rather than boutique, and so full of charm. Rooms very spacious. This felt more like staying with a friend than in a hotel. Because of the unusual heat, air conditioning or a fan would have been nice, but other than that, I can highly recmmend and will certainly stay there again if in the area.

Cons: The appearance of the house & garden & internal decor needed freshening up!

Quiet and beautiful location, yet within reach of towns and places of interest. Excellent breakfast to set you up for the day. A friendly and thoroughly relaxing and pleasant place to stay.
