9.5 Excellent
Pros: The place was just beautiful!!!! The hosts are really kind and helpful, the breakfast was rich and tasty, the option to take bikes to the lake was great and the view - the best. We order the smallest room, which is less recommneded, because it has no view and its really small. Beside that, everything was super!

Perfect place for experiencing Euskadi whether its the great coast line, the lovely cities, the steep mountains or the lovely green hills. Great breakfast. Can only recommend anyone to join into that experience.

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This family run B&B is conveniently located in the town of Ormáiztegi. The family room and bathroom were huge, comfy beds and windows all around, so lots of natural light. The couple running it are lovely and recommended us a great tavern for dinner, just a few steps away. There are toys downstairs for children to play with, as well as a nice patio with a little toy house and a terrace to sit and relax. Will be back if happen to be in the area again.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, the atmosphere, rooms, fantastic breakfast and that good feeling that the owner (Marcus) and his wife are giving to all guests for making their staying joyful. It was one of my most pleasant staying in a hotel ever and I recommend visiting this place to everyone
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent!
Cons: Shower a bit small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location in a quiet area. Lovely staff. Clean, refurbished modern room. Comfy bed. Great local bars and a local taberna that did brilliant food. Lift to upper floors. Nice outside area with tables and chairs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very modern hotel, clean, big rooms, comfortable, great water pressure, friendly staff and the only hotel in Basque Country where we got breakfast included. It was great and well located for exploring the highlands.
Cons: Nothing. The good town restaurant was shut that night but the hotel manager directed us to a local, fun bar instead
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room was great very clean, immaculate bedding and great friendly owner, breakfast was also excellent.
Cons: Location was a slight problem due to there being nowhere to eat locally, no food at the hotel or nearby, after driving round for 30 mins looking we eventually drove 30 mile to San Sebastien, worth the drive. Also a minor thing no cups in the bathroom for teeth brushing, but thats being very picky.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet. Breakfast lovely with orange juice squeezed in a machine. Very friendly staff.
Cons: Nowhere in the town to eat, just places you could drink!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Beautiful hosts who were gracious and helpful in every way. Room was so clean and bed soooo comfortable. Great breakfast with the best Orange juice. Very accessible to local cafe's for dinner.
Cons: Difficult to find on our hire car navigator. Make sure you have googlemaps.
Sosola Baserria - Eibar - Building
3
9.3 Excellent (206 reviews)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The welcome, the property character, the views, the silence, the cleanliness and the breakfast were all first class. We recommend staying here.
Cons: You should be aware it is 1km up a very steep 20% hill. Fine if you are in a car. Not great on touring bikes (like we were!)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old world charming property high in the hills above Eibar with very friendly owners
Cons: Sat Nav (Car & Waze) got very confused, so just ask directions. Worth the effort, though.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful building and host, great breakfast, amazing views
Cons: Floors not vacuumed
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Sosola Basseria is a large old house with a few bedrooms. Stylish and interesting. Warm welcome from the owner and lovely location with views over Eibar. Good advice on where to eat and taxi service to get back - as you may not wish to drive back after a meal in the town.
Cons: The Sosola Basseria is above Eibar and up steep hills with a narrow road to get there. Our SatNav sent us on an uncomfortable journey on small country tracks and up some steep slopes and tight bends. Luckily a local sent us on a better road.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful traditional place to stay with a lovely, friendly host who made sure we had a great stay. Amazing home cooked breakfast, would recommend it for people wanting to escape in the countryside.
6.8 Good
Pros: Ester is lovely;she is excited by aspects of Basque country beauty and the heritage and uses of the house and land. Breakfast was very good, with a perfectly cooked omlet and homemade cakes with the coffee. The property is charming and comfortable. I loved the little rustic fountain that seemed to have once been a laundry area with scrubbing board in stone built in. Ester had it decorated with flowers and a sweet little blue pail.
Cons: We were thrilled to be able to reserve Do some because by the time we did, many other options were booked, and the location was great for our plans. However, we definitely has a less desirable room. It was pretty small, with a severe slant to the ceiling, and it had tiny windows, with almost no air circulation. Probably it would be cozy in cold weather, but it was hot and so it was not pleasant in the room. A fan or two should definitely be provided. Also, screens are rare in this part of the world, so bugs come in. In this case, rather a lot of moths, of several varieties and impressive range of sizes. So all in all, not a satisfactory situation for a hot sticky August night, and we decided not to stay for a second night as we had planned. If you can get the big room upstairs, do! It's beautiful!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The lady who ran the property was wonderful. The cooking was second to none, a real taste of the local delicacies. Although we didn't share a common language, she was very accommodating and made my stay an absolute pleasure. I'll certainly be going back again in the future.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful old farmhouse and friendly hostess. The room was funky and fun.
Cons: Hard to locate and a very steep hill. Below average breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stunning property. Very kind and accommodating host. Clean and very comfortable.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Esther, the owner, is a great character. Knowledgeable and great fun. The 12century country house is amazing. Breakfast is excellent.
Agroturismo Zulueta - Azkoitia - Building
4
9.3 Excellent (205 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Situated 3.5 km from the town of Azkoitia, Agroturismo Zulueta offers rooms with heating and free WiFi. Exposed stone walls and wooden beams lend a rustic décor to this guest house with a shared kitchen and a lounge. Barbecue facilities are available outside. The rooms have a TV, wardrobe, and a private bathroom with a shower. Hairdryers are provided. The coastal town of Zumaia is a 20-minute drive from the property, while San Sebastian and Bilbao are 50 minutes away by car.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The total exsperience of tranquility and natur
Cons: Peacefull and relaxing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely and helpful hostess/owner who shared interesting visitor maps. The property is stunningly beautiful, and located in one of the most beautiful and spectacular valleys I have ever visited! Total peace and serenity. The property is a family home built from local rocks and wood which creates a personal, cozy and rustic atmosphere. The beautiful dog (fastened in the dog house) also adds value to the homely feel. Huge bathroom and enormous bedroom with comfortable, large bed, huge closet and traditional furniture. Breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys, wauw! Lovely outdoor patio with spacious tables and benches, and fabulous view as well.
Cons: The road leading up the the property was quite challenging; unclear signage, only partially paved, and without side barriers while the road is steep in places with lots of turns. I was looking forward to doing a lot of walking around the property as it is right in the middle of nature, yet that was not possible, except for along the driveway leading up to the property. All surrounding meadows are wired, so unfortunately, the many options for walking are at least a few kilometers away from the property. You either have to drive to a point from where you can start walking, or book an organized walking tour.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location very friendly host
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is incredible
Cons: Can be nerv wrecking to drive there
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Host was very nice and accommodating of our late arrival
Cons: arriving late after dark was a little treacherous on the narrow mountain roads, but in the daylight it was beautiful
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful rural setting to which we were welcomed by a very friendly host. Our room was warm and spacious next to a large open area that had a seating area around a fire which we lit. Good kitchen facilities to cook for ourselves knowing there was no food available. Breakfast was adequate when supplemented by our own provisions.
Cons: Some might be put off by the ‘switchback’ drive in but just take your time - minimal traffic.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff, nice location
Cons: Breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing area, beautiful location. Very clean and nice rooms
Cons: Recommend to remove words breakfast from the rate. This is not really breakfast (croutons and jam), I think it would be better if people would know that breakfast not offered and bring their own food.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Our hotel room was the best budget hotel room I've ever stayed in. It's about 40-45 minutes due west of Pamplona. It was so odd to have such a nice hotel in such a random place because as far as I could see, there was nothing going on in the town, but we stayed to be centrally located to Pamplona and Urederra. The room is very modern and only a few years old, we had a large room with queen-size bed, memory foam mattress pillows, an adjoining lounge with endless Nespresso coffee,  biscoff cookies, and bottled water, rain water oversized shower head, easy access shower, toiletries, a huge Italian sink basin, a SMART TV, automated blinders for the window overlooking the town square, the list goes on. If you have a car, I would stay here FOR SURE.
Cons: The only thing that wasn't appealing was the breakfast offering, however, the restaurant cafe was always busy.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Modern comfortable hotel. Good size, all mod cons and lovely bathroom. Well located centrally. Water pressure was great (which is important when you are travelling round out of a suitcase,). We arrived on the last day of their festival so had a great time.
Cons: the Check in linked to a busy bar so not the friendliest of check ins but it didn’t water (cleaner stood and gave us some great tips)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place in a sorta crappy neighbourhood
Cons: The noise from the plaza below was intolerable. Reception said that it would cease by midnight but that wasn't so, it went on until daylight. So sad because other than that it's a lovely place
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Free coffe and water in the TV community room The staff was great and helped us with everything with a smile. Very clean and new facilities, close to a pub and supermatket. Speaks English.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean accommodation in a quiet setting, but near the local town of Otxandio where there are shops and restaurants. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked dinner one night as well as preparing our breakfasts Definitely recommend Agroturismo Etxebarri.
Cons: Nothing everything was fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was in a stunning location and the lady host was so kind and accomodating. The beds were super comfortable and the whole place was spotless. I would happily recommend anyone to stay there. I would have stayed longer after my friends had left, only it was booked up.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners of this hotel (Jose and Mari V) are AWESOME. I have never met such wonderful owners - they make you feel like one of the family. They don't speak much English (we speak Spanish) and OH MY how gracious they are. Their hotel is SPOTLESS and they go out of their way to make you feel at home. In the morning you can have a breakfast for either 3.00 or 5.00 euros. Great location for nature walks and if you plan to visit the Hayedo De Otzaretta. Nice room for guests to watch TV at night or just chill. Two very friendly German Shepherds but the owners will lock them up if you are afraid of dogs etc. The town of Otxandio is just up the road where you can shop at two small stores of the basics (wine :) cheese, deli meats).
Cons: Nothing! This place is PERFECT!!!!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were so welcoming and friendly. It was so quiet and peaceful. Only a 10 min walk into sleepy Oxtondio . Great location to explore Parque Natural de Urkiola.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: I wish there had been coffee in the morning or a bowl of fruit
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely bed and facilities for a rural holiday.
Cons: Quiet town, lacks restaurants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fantastic!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The best part of this experience were the hosts on the property. They clearly want you to feel at home and are a happy to provide information on the area. Helped us find a place for our evening meal and also our lunch the next day in Vitoria-Gasteiz that was excellent. Loved the dogs!
Cons: I am still getting used to the idea of breakfast meaning toast and coffee/tea to some hosts in Spain. We accepted breakfast and thought eggs might be part of the menu but were served toast and coffee. I will eventually learn.

Cons: Nothing to dislike.

The area in which the accomodation is situated is beautiful and only 3km from an amazing national park with good cycling at a beautiful lake ... It is also easily accessible for Vitoria Gastiaz with its historical centre and murals. The accomodation offers breakfast which is good and plentiful and is relaxed and homely, the shower is very good and quite a gadget great for after a whizz about on your bike or a walking tour of the city.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great! Right in the center of Ermua. The room is big enough and very clean. The owner of the hotel is very friendly! We would recommend the place for sure!
Cons: We liked everything! There isn't anything that we didn't like. The hotel is great!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The apartments were fantastic clean and light with great bathrooms and comfortable beds. Very good value for money
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean rooms, friendly but complicate people
Cons: No breakfast included, parking far away, no air conditioning, complicate communication and process, loud street
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was very nice, although the building outside looks a bit old. Don't let that fool you! It is evident that the owner is doing a good job. There is an Irish pub in the vicinity that is also worth the visit. First we felt a little bit scared in the city but with that kind of hospitality we were proven wrong and we saw that we were just a bit judgemental.
Cons: The rooms are unfotunately not very soundproof. We heard the neighbours upstairs a bit too much
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The large double bed was super comfy and cosy. Good quality bedding and smelt fresh up close. The wifi was good enough to stream tv and movies on a tablet and there was a new modern flat screen tv with the facility to change the language to original version. Also had usb port to play your own content. Juantxo gave a really nice welcome and plenty of tips for the short time we stayed there. The room had a small balcony which would be a bonus in the summer time but unfortunately was too cold to use it in December.
Cons: The only negative with the room we had was a slight smell of smoke when entering. We are non-smokers and I'm not sure if the smell was in the fabrics/towels or just the wallpaper but it was very noticeable each time you went in the room. The town itself does not have any great dining options and we found ourselves struggling to find anywhere nice to eat in the evenings.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Juantxo was super kind and helpful, he pointed out some amazing places for us to visit in the basque coast as well as which roads to take. He was really helpful and Ermua was a good base to explore Bilbao, San Sebastián, Mundaka, etc. It can be a bit confusing at first to find the pension and the parking area to drop off luggage, but the pension sends a detailed email explaining. They also offer free parking in a commercial building near to the pension. Overall, it was really great and so much cheaper than to stay in Bilbao or San Sebastián.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best pension i have ever stayed. The pension was extremely clean and confortable. Very well located from Ermua center and to bigger cities by a closeby train. Juantxo was very kind and helpful with our questions. The value for the money you pay is really good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely clean and really warm. Breakfast in bed was a real treat.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: According to our research, Ermúa would be a nice base for visiting main cities in Basque Country by car. And if you are reading this comment, take note that Pension Melida has excellent conditions, staff called us before arrival, in order to met expectations and make you comfortable enough during the stay. They deserve 10/10, and it is a perfect and lovely place to stay for a few days. Eskerrik asko!

Pros: I stayed here to break my drive from Paris to Lisbon. It is a cute little place in a cute little village. There is a good bar open for lunch and dinner (from 8pm) across the road. Bring cash. Bar prices were reasonable: Homemade burger, fries and a glass of wine came to 8 Euros. There is plenty of free parking very near by. The breakfast is basic but good consisting of bread, jam, ham and cheese, juice and coffee. The host was very friendly and helpful, but doesn’t speak English. We got by in a mix of Spanish and French. The room was warm and comfortable with two small double beds. The bathrooms are shared.
Cons: Everything was perfect for the price.

Pros: The host tried really hard to make us feel welcome, using google translate to help with communication. It was great to have use of a well equipped kitchen and a bath tub with a plug. Bed was comfy and room was quiet.
Cons: It wa a surprise that the property was looking out on to an Industrial area. The town also seemed quite Industrial when we drove through.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We just liked the place it's a bit "off the wall" which suited us perfectly. We got a taxi into town (10e) and found a crazy little restaurant in the back of a bar and once again it was just what we like and very inexpensive.
Cons: Nothing wrong in this price range, we thought it rated higher than advertised
9.5 Excellent

Cons: It was all good
5.0 Okay
Pros: A young man gave us a lift to town to buy food for dinner and breakfast because it quite isolated. Friendly and comfortable and pleasant mountain views.
Cons: It was closed when we arrived at 5.00 pm and we had to phone for someone to let us in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was clean and quiet. Nice rooms. Friendly hostess.
Cons: Nothing to complain about.

Pros: Free apples
Cons: Ghostly staff Wall super thin Dog in room next door
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The drive to the hotel through the mountain passes was very pretty - and easy, on fast roads. We really liked the hotel and the general location but, sadly, it is on the edge of a very industrial town. Although the views in one direction are lovely, it is right next to some unattractive apartment blocks. The service was excellent and the room well appointed and comfortable, with good blackout curtains. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast, with delicious omelettes cooked to order, freshly squeezed orange juice and good coffee, plus an excellent array of cold foods. Parking on site was plentiful.
Cons: Zumarraga itself is a very industrial town and the hotel, although some distance away, is next to two unattractive apartment blocks.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a great experiance.. Having stayed in a 4* the night before, this was so much nicer and will definitely be back.. The good was insane, the bed was comfy and I could sleep with the windows wide open for peaceful and serene
Cons: I would have liked an ironing board in the room and some drinks in a fridge but... They are more than accomodating and very kind/helpful. Some of the cheese on their cheese platter blew the back of my head off
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were very luxurious and the breakfast was excellent. There were lots of outdoor spaces for relaxation and the grounds were well tended. All staff were very attentive and welcoming.
Cons: Whilst the hotel was well located the surrounding area did not offer as many things to do as we expected and it was in quite a remote area although near to a town.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The host went out of her way to bake us a gluten free breakfast with homemade butter, jam and cake. Coffee was excellent
5.0 Okay
Pros: There is a nice view of the sunset from the property.
Cons: It is in a family’s house, with young children running around. The house overall smells kind of musty or mildewy, and the bedroom especially. The sheets felt very humid, and there were spiders in one corner. It kind of seemed like no one had stayed in the room for a long time, it all just seemed musty. Glad it was only one night, but upset that this place was more expensive and lower quality than other farm stays I’ve been to in the area!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: An excellent location with great people and great landscapes around.
Cons: Difficult access and lack of indicators.

Cons: Disappointing evening meal
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Nothing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything was just fine. The check- in personnel were extra accomodating and helpful. One of them was extra helpful when she called the parador where we had stayed the night before to try to help find an item I thought had been left behind.
Cons: I was disappointed that the quality of the accommodations had diminished since we had been there several years prior. The renovations did not improve the parador.

Cons: I can’t fault it.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff and good breakfast. Rooms simple but clean.
Cons: Getting there by car is a bit complicated but once you get it it is OK... (better to go direct to the public car park located under the square... The pedestrian exit is just meters away from the Hotel
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location right in the centre of the old town. Lots of very good restaurants and livily atmosphere. The Hotel was spotless with quaint olde-world decor. The manager was very pleasant and helpful
Cons: The reception and rooms started one floor up from the entrance, which meant that everyone had to use the stairs. as there was no lift, which would be difficult for anyone with a disability. HOWEVER, the manager kindly carried our cases up and down when requireed.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location, spacious room, friendly staff
Cons: In the booking.com ad it said there was parking when in fact there’s just a public car park near the hotel at €10 for 24 hrs
9.5 Excellent

Cons: There was nothing that i didnt like at the hotel
7.0 Good
Pros: Very friendly staff
Cons: All was ok
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good, with croissant, fresh orange juice, cheese, toasts etc. Great service by owner. Located just opposite tourism office, and 3min walk to the bus stand.
Cons: The place becomes lively in the evening, the bar on the ground floor next door receives plenty of locals. Kids play in the square nearby. So very noisy. But on a positive note you get the real life immersion into the basque life!
7.5 Good
Pros: When we arrived, the manager even found us a parking place, and helped us back to the Hotel with our luggage. The room was spacious and comfortable. There was a stocked fridge, and the breakfast was excellent. The following morning, the manager carried our bags back to the car.
Cons: The closest you can get with a car is 150m, and parking needs to be found wherever a space is free in the area, which means you could be driving around for ages. The rooms overlook the town square, so if you would like an early night, forget it. At the weekend, people are eating, drinking, and chatting close by until 4am or 5am. Then at 6:30 - 7:00 the street cleaners arrive with fan assisted rubbish blowers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed the fruit, fresh orange juice and the ability to toast my own gluten-free bread.
Cons: It would be nice to have gluten-free muffins available for those like me who can't eat gluten.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff, Very decent breakfast, fantastic location. No pretensions to being a five-star hotel, but it was really perfect for my needs and I would recommend it to most travelers.
