Easy & clear access from motorway system: quiet & secure for our overnight stay None
Ok No teletext on TV
ease of use and excellent staff, the food was wonderful it was a little too cold in the bedroom, and the heating did not work
Good points - Clean room with a tv, kettle and bathroom. Friendly staff. Easy check in - out. Good location from motorway for overnight stop off. Minor bad points but only 1 coffee sachet per person in the room. disposable plastic cups, kettle lid was damaged and door lock required a degree in safe cracking.
Staff were all friendly and did their best to understand our poor French. Food was excellent and much better than we would have expected in a similar establishment in the uk. Perhaps a few more sachets of coffee, milk etc should be left in the room. We only had enough for one cup each.
The motel design, the convenience to the motor way system and the friendly staff
Excellent meal helped by being able to eat on the terrace outside.Usual Campanile facilities but a few new+ different touches. Newly decorated. Fab comforatble bed. Staff excellent as before.
it was not clean enough, old blankets
Rooms are too small and prison-like. The restaurant is not comfortable, the food is ordinary and very basic just about everything
Dinner & Breakfast OK. Staff service was good. Parking secure. The room and ensuite facilities were very substandard and poor value.
Food in the restaurant was excellent, Location was very peaceful & the hotel building had alot of character & charm
The location of the hotel is very good and the surrounding countryside picturesque. It was very expensive to eat in the hotel.
calm, silence Unfavorable price / quality relationship for the dinner
The location is beautiful and the nearby waterfall is worth a 10 min walk The restaurant is ok but expensive....i would not consider it to be gastronomic as advertised!! No receptionest on duty at 08.10 and no one to serve breakfast until 08.15
We booked to stop overnight enroute to our annual ski holiday at Les Deux Alpes. For us, at this time of year, it turned out to be a perfect, quiet and relaxing environment set off the beaten track. The small group of staff were most welcoming and helpful, and the highlight of our brief visit was the truly excellent cuisine produced by the Chef/owner and his wife. There was nothing we did not like, other than the very obvious and transient work in progress that is clearly aimed at enhancing the quality and scope of the buildings and facilities at this wonderful old site.
The hotel is a group of buildings beautifully embedded in a typical small valley of the french jura
Nice hotel, maybe a bit close to a road with lots of traffic
I was able to sleep, minimum noise. No English at Reception, confusion about Wi Fi.......when I checked in, asked for Wi-Fi password. Gave me a number and stapled it into my folio. Would not work, turned out to be the code for the entrance door. Called desk, could not understand me. Walked down to desk with computer, oH! Wee fee. Number she gave me did not work. Manager finally came, tried two more before they worked. The receptionist was not helpful or friendly. She was very upset with me, thru scissors, slammed around-said wee fee very important. I responded yes, important for my business. Worst property in my 5 weeks in France. View of overgrown grounds.
wonderfully comfortable and spacious bed, great shower, air conditioning that worked and was effective.
Friendly welcome on our late arrival. Hotel staff speak excellent English. Hotel is easy to access from town by-pass.
The convinient position near the city. The nearby restaurant (that belongs to the son of the owner of the hotel), with delicious -and quite cheap- menous. Needs renovation, specially the blankets that are very old.
The room was fairly standard, but quiet & comfortable. The highlight is the restaurant. Very stylish with a great dining experience. A bit pricy! At breakfast we received a very warm welcome and found the staff (the manager in particular) to be very helpful and friendly. There are individual garages available as well as plenty of on site parking. Whilst it was a great evening in the restaurant, it does work out to be expensive. The rest of the hotel, whilst good, does not live up to the price you can end up paying.
beautiful old restaurant with sumptuous fitting and style courteous and helpful staff memorable meal at resonable price the room was a little basic and dated no good mirror of hairdrier for my wife to dress for dinner
Pleasant welcome ( in English ! ) by reception in spite of late hour. The rooms were not comfortable, outdated and worn furniture, needs some renovation. Do not justify the price.
Pleasant stay in la Chaumiere.
Excellent hotel with a friendly, helpful staff. Dinner at the restaurant is a bit of a surprise, good for some, not so good for others. The cuisine is experimental and playful, but is a bit of a shock, for instance, to receive a plate of chicken covered with what appears to be soap suds (and weren't).
The pleasant atmosphere of the hotel; outdoor terace, swimming pool...
The directional signs to get to the hotel were very helpful. The room, although tiny, was adequate and clean. The hotel restaurant was pretentious and over-priced. The menu was like reading Chinese--extremely fussy and complicated. Only my husband's menu had prices--how archaic! My escargot were wonderful and my husband's morel ravioli was great. Beyond that the food ranged from so-so to inedible (I'm not into undercooked chicken! The sommelier was the only person on the staff who seemed to have any warmth and grace. Kudos to him! They need to concern themselves more with the quality of the food and service not the pretense.
The friendly staff and the efficient service. It had an excellent restaurant (although very expensive over 220E!) Had it not been the last night of our holiday we would have found somewhere else to eat. The photos on your website are of very modern bedrooms not of the room that we were allocated which was very dark, old and in need of a little tlc. It was also very uncomfortable. There was no mention that some rooms had still to be renovated on the website. I was very ipset to find a used plaster on the bed cover!
The hotel itself was ideal as a stopover en route to the Alps. Pretty room, nice staff and good value. Too far from the town centre and restaurant was incredibly expensive with the set menu unavailable on Fridays and Saturdays.
The public areas of the hotel were very attractive. They also have a nice garden with plenty of seating, a swimming pool and free parking on site. The breakfast, although a little on the expensive side, was well worth the money as the components were of such good quality and so tasty with plenty of coffee. There was an expensive restaurant attached which we didn't try - quite a few options in town and no problem parking there. I would not recommend the standard rooms. We had one. The classic decor of the bedroom was ok and comfortable enough, but the bathroom and toilet looked as though they hadn't been updated since the 1970s. There were holes in the tiles where some pipes had been removed and no shower curtain round the bath. The separate toilet smelled of damp and urine. It's a long way into town so you have to use the car.
Conveniently located but the room (towards the street) was rather noisy and not very big. Friendly service and good restaurant. Noise.
Easy access to the hotel salt water pool -- robes provided (but I had forgotten my swimsuit, and they could not provide one on loan). Nice restaurant, with tables in the square outside, alongside a fountain in which the hotel keeps its trout. Soundproofing in the room, which was over the square was very good. Buffet breakfast was good and fairly priced. Our room was a squeeze, so we would not have wanted to have to spend too long in it.
Exeptionally friendly and helpful staff Wirelss internet performance marginal
Friendly staff and very clean albeit fairly basic hotel where the bathroom was quite well equipped and everything worked
Room was on ground floor near reception and therefore a bit noisy. A bit impersonal.
Very friendly staff. ideal place to say over for a night.
The swimming pool. Very relaxing between two days of car driving
only used for travel stop
I stayed in room 206. The bathroom door handle fell off when I closed it on the inside.Luckily there was someone on the other side to open it.A single traveller would have been locked in. The shower head was hanging off the wall and the toilet seat was loose and broken. Not very good at all.
Cheap, easy to find.
Leaving in the morning. We arrived in the afternoon and could get nothing to eat. Also the owner had been smoking in the bar, as you could smell it and there were butts in the ashtray on the counter. When we asked could we smoke, he said the bar was a no smoking bar...... It was also cold in there, the doors were open wide. Presumably to keep the smell of HIS smoke out, which did not work, but did keep us out.
The hotel is absolutely idylic, and the food first class. We have stayed here 4 times and will stay again, room rate quite high but food prices reasonable No bad points
the owner/management couple is very nice too expensive
Excellent location Comfortable room Hotel tired & run down. Weird, scruffy & over effusive concierge - the owner we presumed. Hotel exterior in need of general external refurbishment etc. Peeling paintwork and rotten wood were the main features, with scruffy entrance, overgrown drive and unmown grass. Room nice except for "see-through" bathroom!
The friendliness of the couple who ran the hotel, and its seting and style were also superb. No
The host couple were very welcoming. Dinner and wine excellent.
The view and tranquility Nothing
the food was excellent! the road with traffic
A very quirky, friendly hotel. The dinner was exellent - as good as any top hotel, Great quality, very professionally served and tasted delicious. The breakfast was very disappointing - certainly the other end of the scale to the dinner. Also the price for breakfast was way too expensive for what was available.
We liked the countryside location near Poligny. The food served in the restaurant was excellent, the best in France. Staff very amenable and welcoming. Nothing but would have liked air conditioning
the owners the owners are new and have to learn a lot about their hotel and what international travellers need
