The staff were very friendly. The rooftop pool was larger than others I,ve experienced and the food was ok.
Air condition was working but inadequate
Comfortable spacious room. Excellent location close to beach and restaurants. Short distance from Malaga/Nerga.
I Liked the size of the rooms and bathroom facilities. The dinner was poor and the breakfast.
It was incredible value for money No
We had a large clean room; atmosphere is luxurious. Pool was already closed despite outside temerature around 25 degrees (October). Breakfast is very very minimal, even for spanish standards. We stayed only 2 nights, and if we stayed longer we certainly would have to have breakfast elsewhere.
relaxing atmosphere nice food friendly staff clean rooms very helpful spacious rooms
Pleasant hotel staff. quiet rooms. central for Torre Del Mar and its facilities.
We really enjoyed the rooftop entertainment area, with the jacuzzi, sunbeds etc.The hotel staff were all friendly and the room was clean and good size with bathtub and balcony. Location was also excellent, one street back from the beach, which was still close enough to put you in the thick of the action (restaurants, shops etc)
The hotel in itself is fine. I did not like the location of the hotel. You need to keep your curtains closed during the stay because you are too close to other buildings. The nighttime is very noisey.I suggest the rooms need to be doubled glazed better.
It was pretty much what I was expecting for the price Although equipped with a good machine, one evening at 11 pm the bar girl would not provide a coffee when we returned after a meal out, as she had cleaned it for the night! This seemed strange as it is the time most Spanish go out for the evening
The views from our balcony were fabulous, & its proximity to the beach is convenient. The buffet breakfast is also great. The room was a little smaller than the one we stayed in last year, & there was no minibar.
Comfortable room & good food A lot of noise travelled up the open stair well. The addition of a kettle & hospitality tray in the room would be good.
Clear rooms, comfortable beds. Food was not good - the plates and glasses at breakfast were dirty. Exact same offer every morning.
Great sunroof with jacuzzi baths, central location, friendly and helpful staff. The quality of the breakfast is sub-standard compared to the rest of the services. Somewhat overpriced.
good weather, having a balcony, receptionists very helpful one in particular sp0ke very good english and was very pleasant bed not very comfortable mattress a bit hard
Very central. Muy cerca para todo
The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The beds were not comfortable and the coffee was dreadful.
Beautiful setting. excellent swimming pool facilities. The hotel is not clearly sign posted. Even with GPS, had trouble finding my way.
The infinity pool and the landscapping even thou all the fountains were switched off and the position of the hotel the room was nice and well equiped.but laking in toiletries for 4 star. The dinning room and the food was not nice and the plates were not washed properly chipped glasses and cracked cups sloppy run operation it let down the hotel , for that reason I would not go again, our saving grace was the Calaballo Restaurante below ,the hotel
This is supposed to be a luxury hotel. They certainly charge luxury prices especially at the weekend when we found the price doubled. The hotel boasts 2 luxurious buffet restaurants but says that both restaurants are only open during peak season. It does not mention that the à la carte restaurant is closed unless they have 80% occupancy so you end up with buffet every night which is very average to say the least. In fact most of the hotel facilities are closed unless they have 80% occupancy. It’s as if they decide that it’s not worth making the effort unless they are 80% full which with the Spanish currently in recession will not be easy. To say that this hotel is big is an understatement. I’ve stayed at smaller hotels in Vegas. The 2 ice machines were broken. It advertises air-conditioned rooms but we went at the beginning of May and they hadn’t turned it on. It was hot! The hotel is designed as a castle square with two outdoors pool arrangements. The one inside the hotel walls is a huge labyrinth of themed pools which kids will love. Outside to the back of the hotel is one of the best looking infinity pools I’ve seen. The problem with the infinity pool is the bar is closed unless 80% full. You have to long walk back through the hotel and out to the only bar which is open. The daytime or evening entertainment is non existent unless it’s 80% full unless you count bingo as entertainment! Oh and you really will have trouble finding it even with satnav.
The best for us was the large out-door pool. The hotel name indicates spa and Luxury and we expected a quite, comfortable and wellnes oriented hotel. But we missed all of it. It might be a perfect hotel for large families which looks for "all inclusive" and likes to enjoy (and make) loud noise - not only by children. Unflexable stuff, Mini Save only available against 4,30 Euor per day made our stay not very enjoyable.
beautiful pools and garden
The staff were happy and very willing to help with even the smallest of problems . Very relaxed atmosphere for me and my family . I do not have any complaints my stay was thoroughly enjoyable .
The room was good and the swimming pools and surrounds were very good. There were only buffet restaurants open and no opportunity for a light meal.
Excellent view and very friendly and helpful staff. Also rooms were kept extremely clean.
Everybody was friendly and very helpful We would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in our room
Everything, will definately be returning!
Friendly staff,relaxed athmosphere.very affordable,great pool,great views down to the coast. Breakfast menu,very average,basic coffee & bread &jam!
Clean, spacious comfortable room, nice balcony, helpful staff. I would stay there again.
Location And Staff Pillows
Stayed in a bungalow, and liked the design and usefulness of it. Hotel has a great location within the town of Competa. You can hike right from the door of the hotel into the mountains around. The desk staff speak very good English. The internbet services (wireless) worked in only two rooms of the hotel, so we had to workj offline on a laptop and then come to the lounge in the main building if we needed to do any internet work.
Very friendly efficient staff, spacious bedrooms. Good location, hotel had a lovely pool and adequate relaxation area with shade if needed. Views from bedroom was amazing Breakfast poor, although it was 'continental'. Toaster needs replacing, never worked adequately. However Maria was not made aware of this fact by the restaurant staff, and I have no doubt that she will rectify this. She was always so professional.
beautiful location and value for money. No
Friendliness of owner and all staff. Efficiency. 24 hour reception with good English speakers.Swimming pool and private balcony with room. Terrace bar. Lovely views down mountain. N/A
The decor of the hotel and rooms was beautiful, very French Chic. There was a lovely terrace to take in the views. The pool was lovely, a little away from the hotel down a pebbled path lined with lavendar - perfectly secluded away from the hustle and bustle of the hotel. Breakfast was the best we'd experienced in Spain, so much choice and everything so fresh! The staff reception were very nice but we found the service in the bar and restaurant terrible. We arrived for a drink and placed our order and then the barman proceeded to take two phone calls, left the bar twice, came back with coffee cups and continued to dry them before serving us-we were not impressed. As I was pregnant I asked for a juice and he looked at me blankly and said they had none-eventually when pushed he mustered up apricot juice. Service in the restaurant was very slow as well & the menu (in English) was really badly translated (eg. beef 'tips' with sauce(??). Although the (std) rooms were lovely (a little on the small side) the bed was literally tiny, a little larger than a single bed so hard to get a good nights sleep!
Fantastic setting. We had a beautiful room on corner with views to both sides..stunning! Bed and bedding luxurious...wanted to stay longer! Very attentive staff.....our wedding anniversary was made extra special.Would definitely return. Breakfast staff could have been a bit friendlier.
Absolutely one of the nicest rooms we have ever visited anywhere. The bed was especially comfortable. The staff was very kind and helpful, and the restaurant excellent. Full breakfast was included. Quiet, peaceful, and beautiful.
A lovely hotel, quiet and beautifully situated on a hillside amidst orange groves. The staff were attentive and helpful and the rooms are very well furnished and clean. Would recommend for a long or short stay. The hotel is a little remote, 4 miles from Velez Malaga so a car is always required. The restaurant menu is somewhat limited and does not cater for simpler snack meals. However, quality of food is good.
very comfortable rooms in this well designed conversion of a very old building in a stunning location.
This hotel has a superb location, with very nice views and large pool but at some distance from hotel which is not always convenient. The breakfast and diner were good but a little expensive. I recommend to have diner in a maresqueria in Torre del Mar. Most guests were international not Spanish. We missed a minibar in the room and bar service at the pool but we could be helped at the hotel bar, even during the day. A lounge on outside terrace would also be nice to enjoy cool(er) evenings. Not enough TV channels (no Eurosport for instance). Not a hotel to stay with smaller children (not much to do).
The hotel is set amidst orange and lemon groves, interspersed with mango trees. It is beautifully restored and modernised with every available comfort. We found it a treat to sit outside on the balcony in the evening and smell the orange blossom. A little difficult to find.
new hotel, nicely built, good atmosphere. away from the crowds of malaga. our daughter like the pool the most. good restaurant. a little bit hard to find - the signs are not good. if you see the one just off the high way read the 2 km as 5.
we loved the location and the views and also the terrace where we sat outside to eat. The inner feel of the hotel was very tasteful and calming. the only thing we didn't like was that one of the staff was very surly and that it wasn't possible to get any food or drink during the day
I enjoyed the close proximity to the beach and the view of the promenade from the hotel front door. .I didn't have a room with a view of the beach. The room was rather small and cold in the evening. I was disappointed and surprised there were no tea and coffee-making facilities in the room.
Well placed, sea views, easy parking nearby. Free internet. Friendly staff
Difficult to find the hotel as name is not easily seen from thr road outside the hotel.
excellent location, friendly helpful staff, 24 hr access would like tea/coffee making facility in room
clean, friendly and excellent value for money, really enjoyable stay, would highly recommend this hotel. there ws nothing not to like
convenient for beach and town nothing is perfect and I waqs there to enjoy myself not nitpick
Lovely hotel in a great position over looking the promenade and very close to bars and restaurants
The location is superb, parking was not difficult. The recption was excellent and the room was very clean and well appointed. Overall a very good hotel.
very clean well decorated throughout my room had beautiful tiled bathroom, good sized balcony, wifi and lift. Great unrestricted sea view and good staff. This hotel gives a high level of quality better than some 4 star hotels. my room had a T fall that meant that if had been with my wife she would have to shrink to 1.5 meters which is not indicated by description.
Sit on the balcony and see the sea. Sound travels
Helpful friendly staff, had to cope with around 20 mountainbikes needing safe storage overnight. Modern, clean room and easy to find location. Everything was fine, except the road outside was very noisy, we did stay on a Saturday night so would imagine it's quieter in the week.
well located, good value for money, very pleasant helpful staff
The young man on reception was extremely bright, friendly and good humoured. I also enjoyed the high roof terrace with marvellous views but maybe I wasn't supposed to be there. For a single room you don't expect the best on offer, but compared with others the room was dull and had no outlook.
Gentleman on reception very nice and helpful and spoke excellent english. However notice said breakfast would be served in room but was not. It was served in dining room.
Very friendly helpful staff, very nice room, slept well, location great for us.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Very modern clean and tidy. Parking in street not easy, but free at the moment. I understand street parking charges start this year.
Hotel Dila was absolutely fantastic! The couple who worked the reception (and who I believe are the owners) couldn't have been more pleasant, nice or helpful. We checked in and they gave us suggestions for places to have dinner that turned out to be amazing. They also have free wireless and a computer available for free use in the lobby, as well as free coffee in the mornings. The location was perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel!
Very clean and comfortable with a fantastic view of the valley and the village from our bedroom patio door. The owner/manager was extremely helpful and the food was excellent.
comfortable and spacious room. great view. lovely gardens and pool. vrey clean and tidy difficult access from road. though not much they could do about it easily.
The location and views from the room and pool were spectacular. Dinner was home cooked and lovely. Breakfast was a little on the small side and, as noted by the other reviewers, acess is a little difficult owing to the very steep driveway. I wouldn't recommend taking a low bodied car!
Nice clean hotel with modern facilities and a nice pool in a beautiful location We are English and were unable to read rules and the manager was unable to relay correct information to us. Consequently we fell foul of a number of rules including not having our room cleaned, towels changed, loo paper supplied and missing our breakfast. The manager was too laid back and appeared unbothered.
a most attentive and friendly service in English. the driveway down to the hotel is awfull and unacceptable - and leaving the hotel and entering the paved road is outright dangerous due to bad sight.
Free wifi, personal service, beautiful location Very remote unless you have your own transport
Hotel Las Americas is an excellent choice for a beach and town holiday in Torre del Mar,. It is very near the seaside and there are plenty of good shops and restaurants close at hand. I enjoyed walking along the promenade which will be even better soon due to a complete renovation project presently in progress. The hotel was very clean, my room was comfortable and the staff were exceptionally helpful. The lady in charge even offered to carry my rather bulky luggage upstairs for me ! The seaview from my balcony was really superb. Altogether I was very pleased with this great value hotel booking.
Good sea views No lift and very noisy. Breakfast a bit of a fiasco as you had to go to another hotel a few minutes walk away. The only member of staff on duty in Las Americas did not know the breakfast times and there was no information in the bedroom. We had to explain who we were at the other hotel who misunderstood us at first.A slip of paper to be handed in would have been preferable.
excellent value for money, staff very friendly and helpfull,
Very friendly and accommodating staff Can be a bit noisy on Fridays and Saturdays due to location.
The room was fairly large and spacious. The hotel had character. The location was great, could see the beach from the balcony. Clean towels and beds made every day. Only complaint would be the reception opening hours, but the hotel is very close to where you can collect/drop off your keys.
The food at the hotel in which we ate La Torremar , it would seem that we were the only people staying in Las Americas The room was very small, could only open half the wardrobe because there was a bedside table jammed right up to the second half. There, could not use the drawers at all. The bed was extremely uncomfortable ans only one very small thin pillow.
Great value for money
playing golf at baviera
breakfast was pleasant. room was bright with a nice view of sea and boats. no room to relax in other than bedroom just a b and b rather than hotel.
The convenience and general position. Good facilities, lovely view from the room. Would definitely stay again. Breakfast adequate.
uncrowded, quiet, pleasant staff, practically on the beach, relaxed not really, maybe the beds could be a little more comfortable
good and clean but brkfast completely unimaginative and served by those of the staff least able to do so, which spoiled an otherwise good stay see above
Staff were very cool and nice, If we needed anything we just had to ask (it was kind of a family business). You guys better choose the seaside room, you pay 20Euro extra, but at least you'll have the sea view, and that will spare you the car noise. the room we picked was facing the main road, so it was quite noisy
Well situated littele hotel. Nice view over the bay of caleta. But it was cold, when we where there and the heating did not work.
Location is excellent, and as a walking centre it is ideal.
The hotel is absolutely beautifull. Gustavo, the owner, makes your stay even more special. The food in the restuarant is perfect.
The location is fabulous....on a lovely square with charming church bells. The hotel is new and therefore very comfortable although it is designed to look authentically old so it's lovely. The 'honors' coffee and wine bar is great. The GM, Mr. Romero is charming and fun. Everything was great. Canilllas de Albaida is such a charming village.
Perfect location in a quiet square of a pretty hilltop village, excellent food in the adjoining restaurant and very welcoming staff. Rooftop sauna and hot tub looked very inviting though we didn't have time to take advantage. First room we were allocated had an unpleasant smell of drains in the bathroom, but we were immediately given a different room that was just fine
