Especial thanks to Tanja from Hotel staff . Without Tanja's helps our family trip was failed.
peaceful location, friendly staff, perfect pizza 1st floor view to neighbor house
Did just stay for one night but it was very nice
The location on the lake was breathtaking and the superior room was spacious. I was shocked that I was unable to get anything to eat at 4pm due to all cafe bar restaurants closing between 2 and 3.30pm.
The hotel has pleasant grounds, appears to have a good range of facilites, and the breakfast buffet is reasonable. The standard rooms are of low quality with plastic chairs, table, and furniture and have a general air of shabbiness. They are certainly not up the standard expected of a 4-star hotel and the high price charged. The desk staff are generally unconcerned and unhelpful.
Excellent services and facilities. The best hotel in Riva Del Garda. a few (but pleasent) minutes walk to the town center, internet is not free.
We thought the location right by the lake edge was lovely and because we had a room overlooking the Lake we enjoyed the views very much. Good internet facilities despite the fact that you had to ask the reception for a password every time you wanted to use the machine. The hotel restaurant had good food. Our room wasn't ready when we checked in ( within the recommended check in times). Parking is a real problem at the Hotel. Only a few temporary parks immediately outside and we had to park our car, a ten minute walk away,as provided by the Hotel.
The location was good. It advertised wlan and air-con. it did not have either of these. Not value for money. False advertising. I stayed there because it was supposed to have these facilities.
Superb location. No air conditioning or fans in rooms = extremely hot rooms during summer months. The free parking "near the hotel" is actually a lone parking lot some 10 minutes walk away.
Hotel was well placed for eating and shopping in riva del garda. Large room with balcony. Toe nail in bed when we arrived.
Spa center was very good, location of the hotel was excellent. Small TV without international channels, no cable TV
Quiet, close to Lake of Garda ( 50m) too many campings around the Hotel, no mini bar, no information inside room
Nice and pleasant location, you find lots of shops and restaurants nearby, the hotel is situated by the lake beach, along a footpath that skirts the Garda Lake and leads you to the center of Riva del Garda. The bedrooms are excellent, good breakfast, friendly and efficient personnel. The hotel also offers an elegant Spa center. I honestly enjoyed my staying and would recommend you this hotel. The hotel is a bit far from the center.
Good location on lake front. Nice room. New and clean. Great dinner. Nice spa. Jacuzzi water is cold. Fresh fruit would have been appreciated rather than the canned fruit.
Directly placed at the lake, very good parking possibility ( really a problem in Riva ), personal very friendly and ready to help. Breakfast was very simple without any changes...not suitable for a 4* hotel. Our room was quite dirty ( bathroom ) and on the roof was some mould falling down. They offered balcony with side view lake...from our room was only the possibility to have a view at the camping place along the hotel.
(1) Cleaner has opened room even I have a notice not to enter provided on the door. (2) I had to change my departure day (one day before) I was asked to change it on the booking.com website first.
Hotel was clean and the hotel staff was helpful. We had nice views to Lake Garda from our 4th floor room. Room was quite spacious and had air conditioning. Also WiFi was included in the price as well as the breakfast. The pool was ok as well. There was also parking place included in the price and it was private and monitored with CCTV. It was more or less for older people (over 60 years old) so we did not fit in that well, as we were only 30. Hotel is used for big travel agency group travelers and in the morning it was bit hard to find the proper table in the breakfast room.
Staff very helpful & friendly. Nice location close to lake. 10am Check out too early especially trying to organise young children for departure.
the location and view to the lake
Room was on the small side, but all other facilities and breakfast was very good.
location is good, only 5 min walking to the lake. i think 3 stars is enough for this hotel, the breakfast was poor. the bathroom was very small
Nice decor of the rooms, spacious balcony and bathroom, beautiful view of the lake and the mountains, undergorund parking, proximity to Malcesine, amenities and small kitchen well stocked The hotel is on the main road along the lakeside, which can be noisy
Good value for money, budget for lake Garda. The room was small considering it was advertised as a room for 4 adults. Tourist bus was useful otherwise you need a car as taxi services are poor.
Very nice place! We rented the apt for the weekend while my girlfriend was here for a visit. Family-owned business that really takes care of their guests. Elena was very helpful, as were all of the staff. Beautiful views of Lake Garda! I would definately stay here again. Nothing to complain about. A wonderful place!
A lovely hotel. Perfect location, sea views, nice pool. Rooms very clean, spacious and air conditioned. Handy proximity to town centre via regular bus route.
The wonderful view of the lake from the balcony. Hotel in peaceful location with easy access to Malcescine Self catering facilities were available if needed. The outdoor swimming pool was especially popular with the children. No
The apartment was clean and spacious, with a balcony looking over Lake Garda. The pool was great with plenty of space and chairs for lounging. Parking was free and plentiful and easy access. The staff were helpful and there was a bus into Malcesisne that stopped right outside our hotel. All in all a good place to stay and at a very reasonable price. There was quite an early check out, but with a bit of persuading they did let us check out a bit later, other than that there was nothing that we didn't like.
Excellent views, nice location with good access to Malcesine. Staff were really helpful and hotel was very clean. Would stay here again No English tv
very friendly and family orientated unlike some other places in the centre of malcesine and already thinking of going back to stay at the lido
spacious room with balcony, own pool, close to the lake & about 40 minutes stroll to Malcesine.
we were well looked after and the hotel was convenient for the local resort and surrounding countryside
this hotel is much much closer to the main area of Riva than we thought from the map. the place felt bran new and for this is was lacking something - however the guy at reception made me a fab cappuccino!
The location was very good. The breakfast was a nice European type buffet. The room and hotel was very clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. Parking is a problem that is not fully explained. You cannot park at the hotel as it is a pedestrian only area. The. Staff. Was. Very. Helpful. In solving. Thus. Problem.
Right in the centre of Riva. Good location, friendly staff and you must try the Goulash Soup in their restaurant.
Our best hotel stay ever!!! Very nice and professional service and fantastic room!
Location, cleanliess of the room. Mini-bar didn't work at all, we couldn't use it as a refrigerator (not could water, no ice, but temperature outside is + 35 at least) Hotel staff told us, that if we need smth fresh, we could leave it at the kitchen of the restaurant. There are no any plates & glases in the room. Air condition didn't work during the night. I couldn't recomend to stay there at least in summertime.
It was located in the centre of the old town which was an excellent location to visit the town and the lake front. It also ran its own restaurant below which specialized in German cuisine, and the quality of the food was excellent, and the price reasonable. The room was well kept and clean with all the facilities needed. It had no parking but paid parking was available in a secured carpark 5 minutes' walk away.
the location. there is no park near.brekfest was fair/
Friendly, helpful staff. Great menu in restaurant. Good breakfast.
Proximity to area attractions at value price.
Comfortable conditioning, cleanly, quietly
Excellent suit with good sized room and Jacuzzi Parking in the area proved to be very difficult
Francesca in the reception was very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is in an ideal location for immediate access to old Riva del Garda and the lake. It is clean, bright and comfortable. Nothing major. We paid a bit extra for the suite to discover that it is on the fourth floor with such a slow lift that we had to use the stairs (74 every time!). Could be a problem for some guests, though we didn't mind. Wireless internet was supposed to be available in the room, but this was not the case. We appreciated the offer to buy us a cable, though were happy to use our computer in the Breakfast Room.
New, clean and very comfortable, well equiped. Not far from centre of Riva as well as beach and parks. Free parking. Good value quality vs. money. We get higher level of apartment then we booked for free (was not Annex). Poor internet connection (Wi-Fi), 3 hours per EUR 5.
Nice reception, nice flat, everything there what you need (e.g. for cooking) very loud neighbors, the chairs are uncomfortable
Very clean, very luxury and big apartment, excellent location.
Big rooms, good equipments
There was no problem to check-in in the morning, thx. We were with bikes, parking is across the street, there is opportunity to clean them on the parking spot, good choice for MTB people. Room ok, no problem. Nearest coop is some 400m away, they open too late (8.30)
Good clean building with high quality finishes. The air conditioning was broken resulting in the rooms being far too hot to sleep and the management stated that there was nothing that could be done. No offer of compensation was mentioned but we were advised to open window !! This affected all 3 nights sleep. Also I believe the hotel definately needs a restaurant. Spa attendant seemed abrupt when questioned about bookings,
Very nice overall premises, very nice pool area and breakfast space. Appreciated the garage in the hotel for parking. The room itself was in need of renovation. Bathroom faucet was leaky, some of the fixtures were broken in both the room itself and in the bathroom. TV reception was poor (many TV channels were noisy). The 2nd floor wireless base station was inoperative so I could not really use the Internet in the room at all. Staff acknowledged problems when I complained, but no fixes were done for any of the problems during my visit. Excellent hotel otherwise if the room would be renovated. Other rooms in the hotel seemed to be updated, so we just got the worst one.
Location view and staff and brekfast where all excellent On the website it had said there was an indoor swimming pool but there wasn't
Breakfast is good. It is a four star hotel with a bed that's 1.60*1,85m very small. Value for money is poor.
Great location - near lake and old town. Pristine room and hotel generally. Great staff. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to one of the wellman suites - amazing room with jacuzzi, steam room and the best lakeside views. Just fantastic! no
The best location I have been in in my honey moon I stayed in the weakness spa which was great The shower is next to the entrance
Riva is a stunning town with great restaurants/bars and fantastic scenery. The experience of having breakfast with the beautiful garden and pool in front of you and the mountains in the background - stunning.
Good service at the reception. We used the hotel for transit, so location near the highway was perfect. Restaurant also close to the hotel. No
Staff was great and the restaurant rocked! I have lived in Italy for three years and the food was phenomenal. Hotel was a great value for the price. Although I was traveling with my family of 5 the room could have been a little larger.
Easy access to motorway, good value, clean A bit noisy if you open the windows - trains and traffic in the morning
Location was suitable and the room clean and well presented
Dinner at the Hotel restaurant was very good. Breakfast, although a small charge in addition to the room was very good. Breakfast food was good, the service during breakfast was excellent. The hotel clerk that was working when we checked in spoke very good English which we greatly appreciated. The fact that they could accommodate our family of 4 and allowed pets was exactly why we chose this hotel!
Great experience all round
Business trip, no leasure time spent at hotel Hotel is situated away from town centre. Finding somewhere to eat was difficult as the town does not have the usual number of restaurants, also taxis are difficult to find
Pool facility & parking excellent room cleanliness good location for other points of interest excellent restaurant 20min walk into town! Children (which appeared to be the owners) were very noisy round the pool area which I thought was inconsiderate around paying guests. The staff and service at the adjoing restaurant came across very unfriendly with poor service, only ate there two nights which was a shame as the food was actually good.
the swimming pool becaurse afther a long drive is that nice the food in the restaurant was poor , we went back 3 weeks ago the room was much better (114) nice view
We only stayed overnight but our room was very comfortable, we had an amazing view from the balcony in our room and the restaurant next door was good.
This is a great little Italian hotel slap in the middle of Riva del Garda. It is traditional and stylish. We stayed for one nignt in August while attending the music festival and we had a very pretty balcony room with a view of the piazza and the tower. The hotel has good basic facilities and is completely charming. We ate breakfast which was exactly as expected in Italy with a good simple buffet. The restaurant was busy in the evening with plenty of Italians but we did not eat there. We would have but we were on a brief stay. Riva is a stunning place and our stay at the Portici will be one highlight of a lovely summer.
Good location, very close to the waterfront, doorman let us in after 1am with a smile. Long walk with luggage as it is in a pedestrian area, room very hot. Breakfast fruit juice was a mix, not real juice.
The clean room and the window and balcony facing the piazza The beds were to hard
Good location. Effecient yet friendly. Nice and warm inside as it was very cold outside No
Very good location, clean and nice rooms, excelent food in the restaurant, the breakfast was a little limited in choice, but still ok. No.
the ventilation from the room is very noisy and you cannot sleep well. no restaurant and they offer you a room service, you can order pasta but they don't tell you that are frozen pasta's and warmed up. you are happy that you can order also they have no TV. only video on demand.
Very central location and easy to park in the hotel basement. Excellent breakfasts.
The location of the hotel is ideal for a 5 minute walk to the water and main square. The bed was very comfortable, although the room was very stark, with functional but minimal cheap quality furniture. The en suite shower etc was well fitted with a much higher standard. Because the room was situated in the middle of the hotel, the view only overlooked the widows of other rooms. If staying for a while, push for a front room overlooking the park.
There was absolutely nothing to recommend this hotel, the only part we liked was leaving it, the owner found us another hotel because they had no heating, hot water and we were so cold we needed blankets to go down to reception. The owner/receptionist was badly dressed and sloppy. The welcome was cool and it looked like we were disturbing them. After walking down a corridor, which resembled a prison - no pictures, cold, dark, souless, we were shown our room. Told heating on max. when in fact their heating system had broken down and they lied to us. After some time they found us another hotel for the same price.
The position, and the friendliness of the staff
the reception i got when i arrived was disgraceful. the woman at reception was rude and very unapproachable. i had booked for three nights but my boyfriend missed his flight and i tried to cancel the last night but the receptionist said i had to pay for the room upfront and she said" lady you pay now i don't care if you leave now but you booked for 3 nights you pay" i did not like anything about this hotel. my room was tiny and so was my friends. it had a tiny walkway along the bed. the staff except for the bar staff were awful. i understood that you could cancel in advance is that not true?
Hotel in good location. Accommodation good although single room small but adequate. Great breakfast and good staff. Overall I would recommend the Giardino Verdi.
Friendly personnel, reception was open from early morning to late evening. Generous breakfast. Walking distance from the center of old city and from the beach of Lake Garda. Very good. Car parking was hard to find (10 euros/day)

Our room wasn´t prepared at time.
Big rooms, nice location room was located in the basement with no view and iron bars around the 'balcony'
The pool is nice, the location in the area is nice the air conditioning does not really work - it makes only noise - no cold air!! there are not enough chairs and sunshades in the pool, and they do not clean the room in all the time you stay - even if it is for a long time
Extremely friendly hotel, with excellent location and well furnished room. The staff worked very hard. We thought that the insistence of paying cash for all drinks each evening was a real nuisance - they could have simply taken a visa deposit. Food was very german, rather than italian.Vegetarian food was fairly low profile
aircon room, the balcony and the lovely swimming pool.
The staff went out of their way to be helpful at all times. Rooms, although a little basic were kept spotlessly clean. Facilities and location were good for a budget hotel.
value for money, staff helpful room clean. breakfast could have been better,no tea making facilities in room, quite a walk into centre, and if your room overlooks lake very noisy early morning busy road.
We found the Stella Alpina to be a clean and friendly hotel, the staff were lovely and very helpful, the room was very basic but very clean, we had a balcony with a lovely view, it was perfect for exploring the area with a lovely walk along the lake in to the main town, which took around 10 minutes. Only one gripe the bed was not particularly comfortable (Very hard!) but otherwise a very pleasant stay
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly making our stay very enjoyable.
the staff... their inviting smile and their eagerness to help nothing at all
Single rooms have a separate private bathroom - this was not stated on the website when booking so had presumed ensuite.
We stayed only for 1 night as we had an apartment nearby for the week but we visited for drinks/snacks when we could. The staff are lovely and couldn't do enough for us. The facilities are basic but clean and welcoming. We did not have an air condition room but the small balcony was a big help to keep cool. Lorenzo and his family made us very welcome and we would certainly recommend this hotel if you are on a budget. It is a short walk into Malcesine and although it is on the main road there are lots of people walking to/from Malcesine. A few hundred yards there is a short path down to a walkway/cycle way along the lake. The family are all helping as Lorenzo's mother is in hospital so we wish her a speedy recovery. (August 2010) I don't know about the bad reviews that have been written about this hotel as we found the staff brilliant and would certainly stay here again. They offered to organise a transfer from Verona and I don't think it is mentioned on their website page so maybe it might be good to mention it?
Very friendly staff, they try to help with all our requests. Good location (10 min walk to centre of Malcesine). Very good breakfast, parking avaliable, internet. Excelent value for the money, best price far around. Maybe they should have more brochures about posibilities what to do (biking, hiking, boat trips...)
family owned hotel. the owners were very friendly and welcoming and genuinely cared about the wellbeing of their guests. one of our party had medical problems during our stay and they couldn't have been more helpful.
A good hotel with an excellent half board offer. Good wine list with very good prices.
We loved the location of the hotel and the very pleasant staff. Malcesine was beautiful and I highly recommend a visit there The only disappointing thing was that our room was quite dark and the balcony was shared with other guests. The hotel was full and we couldn't move rooms. I would definitely use the hotel again but would upgrade to one of the rooms with the wide open views
The wonderful staff, great restaurant and lovely welcoming atmosphere, plus, of course, the breath-taking views.
The location The paper thin walls and dated decor.
Welcoming family atmosphere, local restaurants
The food was good. Rooms to small !!!
The hotel is placed in a very nice location ; quiet and romantic. It's a good place to stay if you're visiting the Lago di Garda area. We booked a superior room, which was more expensive, but we got the standard room for the price of superior - some hotels do like that for the visitors coming by Bookingcom- I find it very unfair. The standard room was very small, rather dark and simple.
Very good service and atmosphere.
For the price we paid food and room were excellent Non
position and nature room and food
The value and quality of evening meal. Also setting in dining room.
