This Best Western is very run down. There are cracks in the bathroom walls, mold or dirt in between tile. The room didn't smell clean, nor feel it. I would prefer hotels not spray room freshener (which they didn't), however it had a stale smell. The first room we were given was #119, whatever you do, don't take this room, it is next to the laundry room and the noise and banging from the machines is not tolerable- this room should be a storage unit- not fit for humans. ( it is also right under a staircase to the second floor- kids were running up and down alot. Second worst experience at a hotel/motel ever!
Tour buses took over the parking lot
The rooms were reasonably updated, good cable tv options, and the pool was terrific (lifeguard on duty, so I got to swim laps while the kids splashed. . ). Our rooms were actually quiet, everything was clean, and the staff quite helpful. I particulalry enjoyed the fresh coffee in the lobby (though missed having a hearty French Roast for much of the trip).
Most of the restaurant choices are a few blocks away, so we got some exercise when tired of Ledo Pizzeria and diner. Wish the pool was open earlier in the day, and it could stand some spiffing up.
Close proximity to the metro.
The hotel is not far from the metro, but it is also right off the side of the highway, making it quite loud and a little bit of an eyesore. When I arrived, the staff seemed a bit confused on how to check me in. They allowed us to "check" our bags for the afternoon while we traveled. The pizza place next door seemed enticing at first, but quickly turned us off by the looks of it. Appearance is everything sometimes. Very poorly cleaned room. Hair left in the hair dryer. Shower looked like it had not been cleaned. Overall, poor quality. The room was really warm, despite efforts to turn down the heater. Would not stay here again and would not suggest to a friend. Way overpriced for value.
stair access only to second building. Terrible set up for the handicapped
The rooms we're clean, it is not too far from the main points of interest-$15 taxi ride or a cheaper metro ride takes about 25 minutes
We called the hotel to say that the first person from our group to arrive will not be the one whose name is on the reservation to make sure there is an easy check in, only to find out that the hotel cannot find the reservation even though we received an email confirmation. Saying that there is no reservation at all we we're told to call the booking website, we're places on hold by the hotel for a long time before we finished a sentence, and overall it was really hard to edible this and took us 50 minutes of calls to figure it out and find the reservation.
I loved being so close to the metro. I found the room and bed comfortable and adequate. The fridge and microwave made it so we were able to provide most of our own food, which was a plus for us. The prices were the best we could find so close to downtown. You can also easily walk to the Iwo Jima memorial.
No elevator anywhere near our room, so you had to carry everything to the second floor (not that atypical in my experience). The pool was a big letdown. It would have been a big perk for our young children. The water was cold; the whole pool room was so foggy in the evening that you couldn't even see across the pool; the shower curtain in the pool changing room was covered in dead gnats, and the ceiling was covered in condensation that dripped on you as you changed.
The room was clean and quite. Close to DC. Friendly staff.
Took 30 min for staff to get reservation. No tv remote. No breakfast
Very clean hotel in good neighborhood. Arlington is very nice and is easily accessible from the hotel. Compared to other hotels in the area is very affordable. The staff was also real nice and if you need to store your luggage after you check out for sightseeing you can for free.
There is a decent walk to the nearest metro rail station to get into DC and the surrounding areas and the highway can be a little noisey. No breakfast included.
Has WiFi, close to dc, reasonable price.
Floor could have used a better vacuum job, fan vent in bathroom rather dirty.
Comfy bed !
Toilet didn't flush...
convenience to Arlington Cemetery and other sites.
Located within walking distance of DC metro and Marine Corps memorial. Just needed it for a place to sleep and great for that purpose.
Room very clean, microwave and refrigerator provided. Towels were changed everyday. Excellent location, less than 10 minutes (walking) from Rosslyn Metro Station. Safe place to stay. Close to National Mall by using Metro (15 minutes).
Breakfast is not included. I was forced to give 50 USD as deposit. It's the first hotel in my life which requests me that. I had a problem with my credit card because the room rate was charged twice, however at the end was solved.
Check in and check out was horrible. you take shower in hot water or cold water, there is no in between. Toilet flushes itself million times with loud noise (also in the middle of the night) housekeepers knocking on the door to clean the room million times even after putting DOD sign. The sign disappeared after one day. Over all if you are spending $120 a night go stay somewhere else. Right across the street Virginian suites is there and we had a great experience.
The door was not working with us we couldn't open it until we push it so hard to open and there was no elevator
