The staff were excellent and the food fantastic. Slight issue with noise in rooms
The position of the room round the corner from the indoor swimming pool, and the fantastic restaurant. The unheated corridor from the room to the pool! Although we could have used the dressing-gowns and slippers if we had known about them! ie only saw them on a chair in the hallway when we were leaving the hotel..Perhaps they should be in the rooms with the pool towels?
I liked the situation of the building set in parkand. The facilities in the hotel are very good. Architecture most impressive Signposting to the hotel was good. Staff excellent. Dinner, the service and the dining room were all very good. There were two simple matters which I feel should be rectified and should not have occured in a hotel of this standing. a) The handbasin in my room was badly cracked and had been so for some time. b) At breakfast coffee cup which I was served with had an unsightly crack in it. I felt this should also not have occured. These two matters spoilt to some extent an otherwise perfect experience.
Staff were very nice, spoke good English. Comfort Room was just about big enough but had an excellent bed. Food and wine was superb in a lovely annexe resturant (the old stables). No issues
A really pleasurable stay. The dinner was a high point. If we were staying for longer, the lack of drawers for clothes would have been a problem
TheChateau , the Quality of the food and the service from the staff was excellent. no
The hotel is in a beautiful garden setting, which is most relaxing. Food and service excellent.
The setting was brilliant and only 30 mins from the Ferry port made it an excellent choice. The resturant food for Dinner and breakfast was excellent both in terms of choice, quality, servcie and cost. The fact that there are no shower screens over the bath. This caused a lot of unneccessary water on the floor. Not good for the environment in respect of cutting down on towel usage.
Excellent service, nice room, excellent restaurant Nothing I disliked but tea and coffee making facilities in the room and BBC on the television would be nice.
walking round the outside of the building. Having our breakfast in my daughters room. It was a lovely room and had tea and coffee facilities. the room needed updating,,no tea and coffee facilities. Furniture was rusty and stains on the chair. Not good value for Money.
The hotel was basic but adequate for a 1 night stay. The location was poor. There were no facilities in or around the hotel for dining or shopping.
Hotel easy to find, good value for money Not particularly welcoming staff, 3 pillows between 2 people, no bath towels in the room.
automatic reception for late arrival worked well
The building is quite new but the fixtures and fittings in the bathrooms are showing extreme signs of wear and tear. On the outskirts of town, easy to find, but no bars or eating places within walking distance. I would only stay one night as it is the most basic of basic accommodation, and for that, it is satisfactory. Good car park. Early morning noise from the works opposite, small size towels but asked for more and they were supplied. Should be called a motel.
Room internal doors would benefit from aligment
Staff were helpful, when we arrived late after getting lost. I put my card into the automatic machine and it got swallowed up. (I'd put it in the wrong slot!) the helpful receptionist used pliers to get it out!! Not very easy to find
The staff were very helpful & the food very good for the price. I arrived late & could not get in but 1 of the staff let me in & opened up reception for me - very helpful - even tho' my French is only moderate. I found it difficult to find - I use Satnav & because the address is newish it would be better if you advertised the main road it is on - Avenue? Charles de Gaulle
Ideal for a quick stop off, with clean rooms and easy to find. Shame there were no pubs or resturants in walking distants from hotel.
it was convenient for an over night stay. Pillows hard. Towels too small. Breakfast overpriced and croussants, yoghurts and rolls sparse when we breakfasted at 9.15. There was a spill mark down one wall in our room.
Price of breakfast Remark only: Experienced some difficulties in using the Automatic Booking System, so would recommend that guests book in before 21.00 hrs. if possible.
Restaurant. Location. Parking.
Ideally situated to where we wanted to stay. Free car park.
Friendly welcome and good restaurant.
The location for St Omer was good We asked for a refurbished room, which was really basic. First room offered was a double rather than a twin, so had to be moved. Was nothing like the pictures on the internet.
The room was modern, spacious and comfortable. The hotel was well situated and in easy walking distance of the town. It was very quiet at night.
Overnight stop only. Quick walk around the town and then to a restaurant You obviously have a problem with hard water. All the tap and shower nozzles need 'de-coking' with a wash in vinegar or some other acid. Only other issue for us was that the headroom on one side of the room was very low because of the eaves.
comfortable room Too close to noisy night club so didn't get much sleep
Receptionists very helpful. Breakfast good. Location excellent, not in noisy town centre but easy walking distance.
Close to city center Very expensive meals compared to rest of city.
Courtesy of hotel and restaurant staff. Willingness to help.
The atmosphere was very welcoming. The owners were helpful and the waitresses were friendly and efficient. The setting is beautiful. No
Superb, a real surprise, very welcoming, great accommodation in chalet type buildings(easy acess to outside for my dog ),spacious rooms and comfortable beds.Good resturant with good menus 22euros and more.Good access and near Calais for our final night ! Will recommend .
The new dining room is excellent. The room is light, airy, with a good view over the distant St. Omer. A choice of 4 menus offer a balanced variety of dishes. The food is well prepared, presented and of good quality offering excellent value for money. The staff are attentive, friendly and courteous. One thing we found disconcerting is that dogs are allowed into the dining room, not just small dogs either! And, no, it wasn't the French, Dutch, Belgians or Germans that brought them in, it was the British!. What is wrong with us? I love horses ....... The room offerd only a shower and not a bath.
The restaurant was closed - we had booked the hotel because of the restaurant write-up. We were told the bar was open but returned to the hotel at 9.00 pm after having to go into St Omer for dinner only to find the bar was also closed.
the new conservatory restaurant is superb and giving a far nicer lounge area noise of other guests in the same chalet block
Easy to find; good space in cabins - upstairs rooms particularly good; excellent food; staff happy to accommodate special diets; reasonable rates no
Our evening meal was superb, served in spacious dining room with views of the surrounding countryside. The staff were very helpful No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Loud television in the bar.
The accommodation is excellent, nice bathroom etc. The restaurant is superb, having a wide range of menus to suit all tastes together with a good range of wine. It is not necessary to spend a lot of money to have a really good meal though gourmet options are available. Like most Logis establishments, there are no facilities in the room to make a hot drink. There is no problem getting something from the staff in normal hours but I like a coffeeearly morning before I shower and get ready to meet people!
friendly staff rooms cleaned daily new sheets and towels daily lovely breakfasts
Very helpful people, spotlessly clean rooms, if a little warm. Excellent location for town centre and restaurants. Rooms very warm and a bit too noisy to have window open at night.
Restaurant Parking in street, parking metres are a pain.
Very close to the old centre of St. Omer.Excellent petit de dejuner. The restaurant and bar was closed at 8.30pm! The twin room my brother and myself shared had only one chair. At 7am the town awoke to lots and lots of noise so it would not be good if one wished to have a longer sleep.
Basic hotel - clean, but bed sagged in the middle and noisy plumbing when it rained
The fresh pastries and coffee at breakfast were delicious! Hotel Les Frangins is a basic and convenient place to stay for a night or two. The lock-up garage was a welcome opportunity to secure the car (containing a boot-full of wine!) but a little costly at €9 per night. The double bed was a little small and we were disturbed by some street noise (but what town centre hotel isn't?)
Proximity to town centre. Car parking facilities
Fantastic location, excellent pricing
central position in St Omer No mirror in bedroom, would have liked tea/coffe making facilities.
Good location Restaurant closed in the evening, bar closed in the evening - in spite of even being told evening meal times at check in! Travelling alone with 8 year old son so deliberately picked hotel advertising restaurant and bar. Breakfast barely adequate and not worth the money.
Parking very limited
Excellent restaurant No tea making facilities in room
Only stayed 1 night on the way home, but found the hotel was in a good location and had everything you needed. The room and ensuite were adequate and the staff were helpful and friendly.
For a 2 star hotel the facilities were above average - the restaurant menu was excellent - the food was very good - room comfortable and clean. A charge of 9 Euros to park the car is outrageous! I have never had to pay to park in any city hotel anywhere in the world. Totally unneccesary. Would it stop me from using the hotel again - probably not - however I feel it is a charge that would be more sensibly garnered by adding a few euros to the price of the room. In its present form the charge is petty and entirely unfounded!!!
This Hotel is ideal for a relaxing visit to the old town of St Omer. Just 45 minutes from Calais. Clean and good breakfast. Staff a little aloof.
Friendly staff. Bathroom was tatty, not very clean, mould between tiles, leaky shower. Room was okay but very old fashioned looking and somewhat worn as was decor generally. Overheated with a window that wouldn't stay open and no way of controlling the heat.
distance to town centre unable to get hot/cold drink from bar after 10.45pm
near to town center, good size room and very good shower room
Very friendly and set in the pretty town of Saint Omer and a good point to start any journey into Europe. No a good family hotel
Monsieur at reception was very very efficient on our arrival. He explained that the hotel would be closed at 11pm and would not re-open until 7am. He handed me a tv remote and made it quite clear that it had to be handed back to reception before vacating the room. There was no lift and our room was on the third floor up some very steep stairs. Unless you are superbly fit make sure in your reservation to insist on a ground floor room. Also ensure that you arrive early to grab a decent parking space. If not you are in for a lot of backwards and forwards to slot into a pretty tight spot. And don't bother with the breakfast, it's just not worth the money
