Pros: Excellent bed and bed linen. Owner quirky and very friendly. Lovely breakfast
Cons: Quite pricey
Pros: The room was very luxurious (and so was the bathroom, by the way), which was perfectly suited for a stay as a recently engaged couple. The lord of the castle was a very generous, spontaneous and friendly person! During breakfast, we had a very nice talk.
Pros: The property was beautifully preserved and maintained. Our room had a very comfortable four poster and a beautiful bathroom with modern and old features very well combined. Breakfast was simple and very homely and the the host was welcoming, passionate about his property and really interesting. We would stay again to relax and decompress from the real world!
Pros: Great location in the heart of the Baie de la Somme, the chateau is beautiful and the hosts are great and very welcoming. It only has two rooms, but they are both wonderful and fully equipped. You get to really feel how it is to stay in a chateau and all the service is great. Bonus (for us) the owners have a wonderful and sweet dog who will be introduced to you (if you want to) and is really cuddly. Also, he does give the additional feel of a chateau!
Cons: Only one small suggestion, a lit signal at the entrance of the chateau would be useful, especially at night since the road is not well lit.
Pros: Architectural gem Sensitively restored with excellent contemporary facilities Outgoing owners who enjoyed discussing current events and were engaging on most topics Owners went out of their way to assist and make our stay enjoyable Excellent home made conserves and fruit juices and artisan products at breakfast Beautiful location with extensive grounds which were great for relaxing in
Pros: Attention to the detail. Everything really beautiful!
Pros: The breakfast was outstanding. A very nice location, simply, a superb place with a most charming and caring host!! It was really great NOT TO HAVE A TELEVISION !!!!

A bicycle rental service is available at La Villa du Marquenterre. Caudron Brothers Museum is 800 metres from the accommodation. The nearest airport is Le Touquet Airport, 32 km from La Villa du Marquenterre.
Pros: The host and location was excellent, after realising we had not booked what we thought we had we were very happy with the room. It was very quiet and we had our own seperate bathroom, the breakfast was good with very local products and a host that was very enthusiastic about the products provided. She also was very helpful with local things to see and do, a lovely friendly host.
Cons: We thought that we were in the seperate accomodation shown. We were in the 3rd floor of the house in an attic room. The garden view is from a velux roof window! The bed was hard, foam on a solid base with a matress saver underneath which meant that you got very hot. There is no TV in this room. The parking on site was in fact parking off site over the road and public, it felt very safe though. The criiticism sounds hard but in fact it was good, if only we expected what we got.
Pros: Warm welcome. Quiet place. Comfortable beds. Breakfast: excellent quality (different kinds of jam, bread).
Cons: Some cheese at the breakfast would have been welcome. Having the coffee and tea on the table instead of having to request it, would be nice. No shower in our room.
Pros: The house was comfortable and very clean, and our room had a private (separate) bathroom with a good shower. The breakfast was delicious with yoghurt, artisan breads and homemade jams. We were greeted by the hostess's son who made sure we had WiFi and recommended and reserved a restaurant table for us. Milene, our hostess, was charming and friendly and gave us lots of information about the local town and places to visit. It was an excellent base for visiting Park du Marquenterre, as well as the Bay of the Somme beaches.
Pros: Our host provided a magnificent breakfast for us all, with a variety of locally baked breads and home-made jam. Mmm. She also went out of her way to provide gluten free bread for me - which made a huge difference to my experience. Rue itself is an interesting town, which again, our host was keen to share with us.
With a stay at Hôtel du Cheval Blanc in Quend, you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Quend Beach and South Beach. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: The staff. The large room.
Cons: TV not operating. Breakfast in the room only.
Cons: No English tea bags!
Pros: Excellent communication and directions prior to arrival
Cons: Definately required sat nav to reach destination
Pros: Bedroom and shower room excellent size, nice to have coffee and tea in room, enjoyed the stay
Cons: Breakfast was as mentioned before picnic style,There should be plates and cutlery at least to make this easier
Pros: Just a heads up... We found out the restaurant by the same name as the property was just sold, and new owner told us to go to the real estate agency across the street to check in. Breakfast is eaten in your room. The fridge was stocked with yogurt, juice, milk, cheeses, and there was no lack of sweet toppings as well. You have your coffee maker and the baker comes and delivers croissants and baguette downstairs to the counter.
Cons: Wifi on 3rd floor was no existing to very weak. Since there is no reception desk, and after closing of RE agency, it is not easy to reach someone for help or questions. May be better once the real season starts.

Although there is no restaurant on the actual premises, there are plenty nearby in Quend,Rue and La Crotoy. Car Parking is safe and secure, and easy . A calm and peaceful break We wiil definitely visit again.
Cons: Extra pillows would be a good idea. One pillow each I suggest is not enough. Also the beds could do with being a bit bigger.
Pros: Great location close to cycling path and nice places ( Saint Valery , Le Crotoy , Fort Mahon , ...) in the quiet countryside , in a lovely farm house refurbished with more than 10 Ha garden with lot of facilities like a swimming pool , tennis court , possibility to rent bikes . Warm welcome from owner and delicious breakfast . Excellent wi fi connection
Cons: Everything was great , just maybe a coffee machine or boiler in the room missing
Pros: Yes, comfy bed
Cons: Not to have kids running around upstairs till 11.30 at night ok apart from
Pros: Rural feel at the location but close to all necessary amenities to make for a comfortable self catering holiday . Le Touquet feel to the nearby town and beach without the crush at peak times - very comfortable, attractive and spacious enough for the 3 children with us - very safe for boisterous 8 year old boy ! Great pool and tennis court - was always available when we liked. Despite rooms overlooking the duckpond - no mosquitos thankfully
Cons: Bring fly spray - farmland all around !
Pros: Large apartment. Spotless. Beautiful terrace in a lovely area.

Cons: There want anything really. Some hand soap in the bathroom would be useful.
Pros: A wonderfull stay. The hosts were nice and gave us some suggestions on what we could do nearby, the beakfast was tasty and the property and bedroom very confortable. We were sad we were there just for one night

Pros: Comfortable room, nice staff, better than chain budget hotels, nice to be able to share a room as a family (4 of us).
Pros: The location, cleanliness, helpfulness of staff and wonderful breakfast
Pros: Simple, very clean rooms Friendly staff Price/qulity ok
Cons: Couldn't connect to wifi. Bur this was a minor problem. We still had 4G.
Pros: A beautiful big room, excellent bathroom,so clean and beds were really comfortable, dog friendly, just perfect.
Cons: Could not fault this hotel, best I've stayed in.
Pros: Hard to identify any good points
Cons: Room was out-dated, although of adequate size. Shower was a disaster- fixed temperature (as indicated by a sign on the wall) which was way too hot for the children to stand and only just bearable for an adult. No means of fixing the shower head to the wall in the shower at a suitable angle, plus the shower and bathroom flooded dangerously. Over-priced hotel in an a region (South of Calais) that we've always struggled to find good accommodation.
Pros: Pleasant chalet type rooms and all good - there's a restaurant nearby, but we ate at the campsite bar. The campsite is across the road.
Cons: Nothing to say here
Pros: Everything was clean and the beds were very comfortable, tea and coffee facilities were useful and it was great as an overnighter on route to the south.
Cons: The shower flooded the bathroom
Pros: Comfortable clean room.
Cons: Reception closed and incorrect number left to call. NO restaurant!! Had to drive 2 plus miles to horrid little town called Quend for dinner. Over priced

Pros: The welcome and check in with the hotel owner on our arrival was fantastic. We were on two motorcycles and were provided with free secure parking. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. We ate in the hotels restaurant on our overnight stop. The food and service were both excellent. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful and varied. The hotel is only an hour away from Calais so is perfectly placed for an early start home to the UK. Overall a marvellous hotel and very good value for money. Well worth a look.
Cons: Excellent hotel.
Pros: A Pleasant stay in a pleasant small French town.
Cons: Nothing to dislike
Pros: The hotel was just a great place and convenient for an over night stay
Pros: The service is great, the location is perfect, just off the A16 and 1 hour from the tunnel. The beer is cold and nice, the food in the on-site restaurant is great (always lots of tables taken by the locals), and the staff are always lovely, that’s why we have stayed 3 times.
Cons: En-suite a little tight, But i do need to lose weight :-)

Pros: Beautiful area of france, very quiet, with a cosy yet clean mobile home overlooking beautiful little lake with goats! Very clean site, with nice patio/ terrace to sit at night, good sized parking space right on the ground and shop within 10 miute drive.
Cons: Reception was hard to find at first as signs signal behind the building and should perhaps state go to reception however once found, no further issues.
Pros: Location was great for Eurotunnel and quick trip to Berck-Sur-Mer Great staff; very helpful. Food was great in restaurant.
Cons: Nothing really
Pros: The staff went above and beyond. Our French is minimal to say the least but they catered for us excellently! The meal at the restaurant was really nice and an excellent price. We only had the stay as a stop off but it was great.
Cons: The parking at our mobile home was a little bit cramped, it may have been an issue had we stayed longer.
Pros: It was self contained & self catering mobile home park. It had a small play park for young children and donkeys in the adjacent field that were friendly. Chef catered for a specific request as nothing on the menu was appropriate for my partner. It was very much appreciated. Breakfast was plentiful with fruit, yogurt, awesome coffee & croissants! Decent for a 1 night stay.
Cons: It was advertised as a family cottage but it is in fact, a mobile home so as long as that’s what you’re expecting, then great.
Pros: Great for a family overnight stop, pet friendly too. Lovely and clean throughout, great hot shower and quiet at night with comfy beds.
Cons: It wasn’t a problem but the toilet was three meters down the hall.

Pros: Very clean, great facilities in the holiday park, helpful and friendly staff. Good swimming pool with attentive life guard. Only 5 minutes drive to the beach.
Cons: Very compact accommodation, no room to sit and relax. Swimming pool got overcrowded at times. Large holiday park (Cap fun) nearby was very noisy.
Pros: Nice for kids to play. Very safe
Cons: In kettle or oven in room. Not much you can cook on site.
Pros: Excellent customer service.thank you
Pros: Mobile homes new and modern with heating in bedrooms
Cons: Staff weren’t overly accommodating. When we asked to do mini golf at 5.15pm we were told we couldn’t as there was someone else on it and it closed at 6pm. There were no staff running it and booking was done at reception which was open far later. Seemed a bit ridiculous to us.
Pros: The swimming pool was the highlight.
Pros: Well established camp site. Excellent location. Off the beaten track. Chalet was well equipped. Ideal to park next to chalet. Nice swimming pool complex. More suited to children.
Cons: The security gates were a pain. Other sites have key fobs which suit any car left or right handed steering, but this site was key pad operated left hand side of the car only. Almost impossible for the solo British driver. And why is it necessary to have a code to get out? The welcome pack was in French only. A British version was not offered. There was no smoke alarm or extinguisher in the chalet. This would be against the law in this country to let accommodation without fire protection. Surely it must be the same in France?
Cons: wifi is not free
Pros: Excellent for the family ! Great location Quiet and peaceful. Kids had a blast in the heated covered pool and cycles. secure environment. We have stayed many times and will be back.

Pros: Fabulous food, great service, lovely ambience.. continental breakfast very nice
Cons: The bed was too firm for our liking and an additional pillow would have been an option. Having the toilet downstairs was a little inconvenient for me (65 ans)!
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. Really good start to the day. Staff really helpful and friendly. Warm reception even though we arrived terribly late after getting lost. Service had finished bbut they had prepared an exceptional cold plate supper for us to eat in the bedroom.
Cons: A tad disappointed by the food one night. Ws ithout GPS the insturct
Pros: Swimming pool. Very good bread and croissants. Quiet location Bed comfortable Room a good size
Cons: Food fairly expensive Had to ask for ice in gin and tonic Bathroom shower a little basic. Toilet very small and no extractor fan. Breakfast room congested.
Pros: WE were disappointed with the dinner menu. The chose was not very big. The service was quite slow. Although breakfast was quite good we were disappointed at the bred selection, no baguettes, and the tea and coffee was from a machine.
Cons: service and food selection
Pros: Copious breakfast with good quality food, coffee, jams ect. Excellent service . The tone was set by the owner who's welcome was very pleasant.
Pros: Very friendly staff. Out of season, no one else around, but lovely log fire and excellent supper.
Cons: Our roomm must have been designed by young man who never slept in it. It was a small living room down stairs with a toilet off it. Cold tiles on floor and cold black sofa. Up the stairs which are spiral is the bedroom and shower room. Comfortable bed, very plastic shower, not easy to use. We are both in our 70’s so going down spiral stairs on to cold tiles to go to the loo in the middle of the night is just awful as well as dangerous. I am sure they would have changed or room if we asked but we were tired having driven over 8 hours to get there.
Pros: Spacious room. Superb cuisine on Saturday evening. Lovely peaceful garden Adequate parking English spoken
Cons: We did not know that the restaurant was closed on Sunday and Monday evenings. That fact made it necessary to drive elsewhere which was a pain.

Pros: We have stopped many times. It’s convenient, clean and good value for money
Pros: Good value for money hotel for a one night stopover. Rooms small but clean and the bed was comfortable. In a good location. Restaurant next door is a chain but did a decent burger.
Cons: Breakfast was fine but next time I would go to the supermarket opposite and get something from their bakery instead.
Pros: Good breakfast and good value. Good choice of cereals and alternatives.
Cons: Beds were hard and at breakfast there was no toast available
Pros: Good atmosphere in hotel. Pleasant and efficient management. Room is good value and well maintained ; has all you need and clean. Public areas pleasant (in some lower cost hotels you don’t feel like using public areas for a number of reasons!) Also good grassy area outside for relaxing/ meals etc and can rent bikes or play table tennis etc/ play area.
Pros: Clean bed for a short sleep.
Cons: Front door locked at night, no staff on reception desk, despite booking.com assuring everyone there is a 24 hrs reception, you need to phone them.

Pros: One of our rooms had a new bathroom with a luxurious raindrop shower - although the drain couldn't cater for the water. The receptionist allowed us an hour later check-out because we only arrived at 8am due to train problems on the Eurotunnel.
Cons: The hotel is in need of re-decoration. One of our bathrooms was very old, there was a shower hose in the bath but it was too short.
Pros: Very basic continental breakfast. The evening meal in their restaurant was a much better experience. Room was fine. Their bar area is quite good and they have draught beer.
Pros: Excellent food Staff very friendly Easy to reach Easy to leave on required roads
Pros: Location if traveling to and from the ports. Option of a triple room.
Cons: No local restaurants. Breakfast in the hotel was very poor for the price - a rip off!
Pros: The price
Cons: I had to ring on my phone to get in. For a minute we did not think it was open. They were unanaware of our reservation. The food was appalling.
Pros: A great setting, peaceful and quiet.
Cons: Free wifi is only free if you have an account with specific mobile phone providers.
Pros: (What did you like best during your stay) driving down the road away from the place
Cons: Hotel was by far the worst and the most expensive, The room had a bath and shower, but nowhere to hang up the shower head, and no shower curtain, Bathroom smelt? Damp, No lift, ok we will have a room down stairs no! We have cleaned all down stairs today, so you must use one up stairs...Hellooooo Disabled people find stair great fun to run up and down, then we get short shift as we dont want dinner or breakfast, Certainly will not use this hotel again
Pros: Very comfortable firm bed (for bad backs); plenty of clean towels + bathmat for double room; excellent value for money; ample breakfast & could request cooked dishes; staff friendly, pleasant & helpful; easy to find: blue sign at night; good system of night entry. Beautiful poplar trees at back, owls hooting at night, chickens and cows by day, very relaxing in Sept.
Cons: Bathroom smelt a bit damp; lack of cnn or English tv channel, but not very important.
Pros: the friendliness of the owners, combined with the excellent food and service overcomes the shortcomings of the rooms. Parking was easy.We would all stay there again. A real French two star hotel.
Cons: there was no tea/coffee making facility in the rooms.
Pros: Very helpfull staff
Cons: A little expensive for the state of the hotel
Pros: Friendly and attentive staff. No problems parking. Easy to find. Pleasant restaurant.
Cons: Shabby room and public places E.G. pealing wallpaper, chipped furniture and marks on carpet. The hotel has clearly had no significant refurbishment since it was built around 1978. Thin walls -the loud snoring in the room next door disturbed my sleep. Traffic noise from main road if window opened.
Pros: Pleasant staff, nice food, easy parking, nice grounds
Cons: Hotel needs updating, very old fashioned bathrooms, poor decorative order. dining room obviously done recently and pleasant
Pros: Staff were friendly food was reasonable location for access to eurotunnel was good
Cons: Rooms need upgrading, advertised with wifi throughout hotel not so one large one small towel only in double room
Pros: It is a cheapy hotel, therefore the rooms were basic but value for money. The food was certainly ok and one could have paid much more for the equal in a 'posher' hotel
Cons: Two persons --- one only showergel each day---had to ask for one each--- three times!! Although clean the loo did have a slight hangover of pee! The lighting in the bathroom was one shaver light--- very poor/mean
