The staff was very friendly and accommodating
Location well within walking distance from train station (10 minutes max). Rooms are old and need some work but for international travelers who need a place to just sleep, good value for your money. Hotel offers a breakfast for 6.50 Euros that includes three pastries, orange juice and coffee to start your morning off. Good value for your money considering a coffee normally costs 5-6 Euros. Would stay here again simply because of its location and cheap price if you can consider 100 dollars Canadian being cheap. Rooms need some work and tender loving care.
Staff was fine It's too expensive for something worse than a hostel. For budget travellers who don't need a private restroom, I recommend not to book via internet. There were chepaer rooms (w/ shared restrooms) cheaper and there were other hotels in the area also cheaper.
The best thing about the hotel was the location, near the shopping center and train station. The room was not comforting at all , everything was old and dirty.
Proximity to train station, to good running felt a little Soviet
The decor could do with updating but all the facilities were clean. The beds were comfortable and there was fresh continental breakfast. I would rate this Hotel as excellent value for money. It wo uld take an immense amount of money to bring this Hotel up to date decor wise.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming, the breakfast ok, the location very good because it´s near to city centre and Centre Pompidou
The desk staff were extremely accommodating in answering our questions, showing us things on the map, etc.
That it was close to the center
Nothing Bad area with a bar next to the hotel. Room not clean especialy the bathroom. Noisy hotel.
the staff were extremely helpful, attentive and cheerful, I cannot praise them enough I think the rooms could definitely do with a freshen up
Food was fair. No night life nearby
the comfort of the rooms, location. Hard to find it.
Great location for parents of Supelec or Georgia Tech Lorraine students. They charged 8 euros for 2 cups of coffee and the internet did not work well.
Very little Dirty, tired room.Extremely rude and racist restaurant manager. Food totally inedible. Many others complaing. Will never use again or recommend.
Nice big room, big comfortable bed, good breakfast buffet
Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly
lovely big rooms no, it was good all round
large rooms - good bus service to city center - nice swimming pool
Nothing Staff was very unfriendly, room was not cleaned properly, air conditioning did not work, shower had mold, bathroom soap, comb, toothbrush animities was very poor quality. Restaurant food was very over priced and the food was not eatable. Grounds were in a very poor condition--grass not mowed, beer bottles on the grounds. Staff in the restaurant was extremely poor. One lady with long curly hair only walk between the front of the restaurant and the kitchen. She did nothing. After waiting a very long time for our food, the food tasted so awful we couldn't eat. Staff did not offer to discount the price of the food nor provide something else. We mentioned these problems when we checkout the next morning but the reception staff only stare
The hotel is situated in the middle of the city on walking distance from the cathedral, the new center Pompidou, the shops and restaurants. The rooms are vey spacious. 13,80 euros was a lot of money for a simple breakfast
Clean, comfortable hotel in an excellent location for exploring Metz. Breakfast was not included in the room rate and was rather pricey. Parking is also not included--10 Euro per day.
Clean, spacious, modern, well-appointed room Enormous comfortable bed Quietness; second internal door to cut off noise from corridor
Hotel was well located and a very good rate when booked in advance. On site parking was essential but it would have been useful to know there was a height limit. We only just scraped in with a roof box. Room was very pleasant and clean. Breakfast seemed a bit pricey so we ate out. Ok if on business on expenses but for a family the cost would really add up. Not really. Comments as above. Overall a very enjoyable stop-off en-route across Europe.
The central position of the hotel, the ease of parking and the good value of the parking charges
24 hour check in, all staff very friendly and helpful
Easy car-parking close by for Eu9 per night. Central location. Cleanliness only so-so. In need of modernisation - especially 70s bathroom and textured paint on walls.
The room was not new, the people who works in the Hotel not nice at all !! The bathroom not clean and horrible !!
The hotel was clean and very central. Staff were very friendly. I booked a twin room but the second bed was a convertable seat which was not very comfortable.
It was convenient for the town centre, and the (free) parking seemed secure We had a number of small issues that overall did not detract greatly from our stay: on arrival the first receptionist could not find our booking - once we had found the parking & returned the other receptionist found it straight away; the hotel room was clean but there were large discoloured patches on both the walls & carpet; the breakfast seemed expensive - we chose to go to a patisserie 50 yards down the street & got croissants & filled baguettes for a third of the price which suited us better; on checking out, the receptionist neglected to mention that there was a code to exit the parking area so we had to go back for that; the exterior door for the parking access was broken & we got stuck outside for 5 minutes
Staff was friendly, room was comfortable, lobby quite nice The breakfast which was included was fair at best. The hotel seems to have cut some of its amenities compared to a few years ago.
It was comfortable and in a good position for shops and eating. The hotel restaurant was not open on Sunday.
It was very nice to have a choice - buffet breakfast or express breakfast at the bar. Unfortunately the bar was closed (25 December)
Helpful staff, very clean and nice rooms, and great fresh croissants.
The silence and the comfort. The art of service by the personel
Nothing Did not like it all... on a scale of 1 to 10 ... I'd be generous and give 4.Cannot remember how many starts it was, but I'd give it 1, and that been generous.
The Hotel was central & had a good car park, the room was large The air conditioning did not work at this weekend
Breakfasr was expensive and not as good as some Mecure hotels
For business - location - price & Internet - reception very pleasant (which is an improvement)
Arriving late was not a problem due to the automated system by the gate. Breakfast was limited to a few basic items.
Good location when travelling south - north (7hrs from North Italy) - secure parking but clear the back of the car - good standard of room with wifi(free) - value for money. Set in a "theme" park area - good if you have kids but might be noisy at weekends.
Good overnight hotel when travelling. Comfortable and adequate room and facilities. Poor breakfast aside, hotel was good value for money. Breakfast was nothing special. Awful machine coffee!
It was a stop off on a return journey and as such it provided a good, warm, clean room anwhich was, luckily enough, on the ground floor. The wifi connection was good and easy to log onto enabling us to listen to Radio 4. As the second of this chain we have stayed in, I was surprised that the showerhead attachment point was broken so it had to be used handheld when a small amount of work could have fixed it. We arrived in time to walk around the area, which was good because the lack of lighting would have made things very difficult. Also as it was a Monday a lot of the restaurants were closed. More information on this at the hotel would have helped.A convenient place to stay but not one I would have chosen due to theme park feeling of the area.
Good value and good availability of restaurants. Great choice for an overnight stop on a road trip.
Clean rooms, enough parking places, nice reception, good breakfast. Just good!
Excellent value, great location for zoo, Galaxie concert venue, Restaurants, Cinema,
Budget price, not far from some major cities. Broken additional bed, the staff lacks english speaking skills, the breakfast is a bit steep for what they have to offer.
Small room but very comfortable, clean, large bathroom for such a small room.Good value for the cost. none
A major investment made to modernise the interior of an elegant old structure. Result is mostly successful ( although already starting to fray at the edges). Overall good value and well situated. But be careful of Saturday nights when a (non related) club in an adjoining basement does disco into the early morning and sets the entire structure throbing!
big and comfortable room, hotel staff are friendly and helpful Bathroom has to be refreshed
it was very close to the railway station and city center. it had good breakfast. no
The family room was very comfortable and we liked very much the idea of giving priority to families with kids. Excelent idea. We asked in the lobby about how to get to city centre and the lady there told us very poor information just to get rid of us quickly. We had to ask people in the street.
I didn't have to pay. When I came back to the hotel after dinner, the door to my room didn't open. The manager found no appropriate cardkey. Finally I had to sleep in a different room while all my stuff was in the other one. Very bad experience!
We requested an electric kettle in the room and this was readily provided. There was some tea and coffee provided in the lounge during the day although the quality was fair, but it was a nice touch.
Very good location, nice room, breakfast is basic but for that price (free) was very good. Very helpful and nice hotel personel. We had to change our room twice (we stayed there for one night). In the first room electrecity didn't work, the second one was smoking room. Finally we get very nice room.
Location and parkingfacilities are veryy good. We enjoyed the fresh orange juice for breakfast!
Location in the center of a beautiful city. Adjacent to the Cathedral and Museum. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean rooms, good breakfast. The difficulty in driving to the front entrance to drop luggage.
A very positive and unique experience. We had a room overlooking the central courtyard which is spectacular both by day and night. To some, it may seem like a 'night in a museum', but once you appreciate everything it is a truely wonderful experience. Fantasic art in most corridors and elsewhere. Beds surprisingly comfortable. Huge room and large bathroom. Well appointed. Good choice of channels on TV including Spanish TVE. Is also used as a conference centre by day which says something about the overall quality and delight of the premises. Parking - there are two options. There is free parking opposite in a public square which is ok. For a far more pleasant experience ask reception for a map and code to their internal parking. Very hard to fault, except perhaps the somewhat shabby surrounding streets which doesn't really matter as there are so many quality things to explore internally.
Interesting facility. Rooms of very high quality. A bit cold and informal given that it's part of an exhibition space/conference ecnetre. Town Ok but a bit run down.
The abbey is very impressive and the atmosphere is totally different from an 'ordinary' hotel
Great to stay in a abdy with very nice hotel rooms Breakfast was a bit poor
The abbey building is quite interesting and the town on the river lovely. The nearby village of Mousson with its hill top ruins make for a great hike. The room was a bit sterile and not at all of the atmosphere of the old abbey itself.
The priviledge rooms were great: large, clean and a good bed. The atmosphere of the abbey is kept alive. A lovely place to stay. Breakfast is somewhat sparing. No eggs, not so much choice of bread and things to put on.
The Hôtel de l'Abbaye des Prémontrés is a wonderful haven in the little town of Pont-à-Mousson along the Moselle river. The abbey has been beautifully restored and put back in its old luster. The rooms are comfortable, very spatious (we opted for a privilege room) and look out over the cloyster garden. The building exhudes an air of tranquility and rest. Relaxation is guaranteed when staying here. The breakfast is in the old refectory which makes for a wonderful start of the day. An absolutely recommended stop over !
good parking, large room, very clean, good breakfast offerings little bit too much used furniture ,carpets and walls, quite uniteresting city, very uncomfortabel breakfast room and too far away
, Not guest focused,Accomadation part seemed only a sideline to the main Abbey
beautiful building, wonderful to wander around after hours (although could be spooky if you are that way inclined), dinner recommendation was excellent. Very large room, easily ample for our family of 2 adults & 2 small children.
It was located in an interesting structure (enjoyed the video in the lobby of the reconstruction project) the mattresses and pillows were not comfortable...found the mattresses and pillows at smaller "boutique" hotels to be of much better quality.
The restaurant attached to the Hotel has 1 Michelline Star and aims to get the 2nd one this spring, so that is a 'must do'! Neither fitness center, nor swimming pool... quite unusual for 4 star hotel at that price. Standard double room is not big at all...
Excellent hospitality of staffs. Relaxed atmosphere. Overall, very pleasant accommodation. Evening turn down the bedding and hand made chocolate on the pillows. Wow!! Had a problem with thermostat (heater) but was corrected in short time.
A nice hotel, can be easily a 5-star hotel if the put slippers into the room and improve the breakfast a bit. Was a nice experience, stayed in the hotel overnight.
Fabulous room. Great views. Comfortable. Quiet. Convenient. Would be good to have a gym facility in the building.
Room comfort and standard seriously understaffed in the evening, staff very harassed and could not provide a quality service. Was told we could not eat in the Restaurant or bar but could order the same food for room service??? After complaining finally got served in the bar by very irrate staff, food very average for a michelin star restaurant.
Excellent 6 night stay, the staff made me feel right at home. I will return again and would highly recommend this hotel. The resturant was also outstanding, but expensive.
it was an excellent hotel. Rooms are beautiful, very big, very nice furnisheg. Very clean and quiet.
The building is 500 yrs old and was built as part of a military fort. The rehab is very new and has five star furnishings, finishes, accommodations and services. The staff was ultra friendly and could not have been more helpful. Short stroll to town (5 min) and Metz is very cool. Nothing to complain about. And I'm normally a grumpy old man about things
Courteous staff, comfortable room, free wi-fi. Overall a very pleasant place to stay - didn't sample the restaurant or bar so acnnot comment on those. No English language TV channels is very poor in a Hotel costing this amount of money. Breakfast nothing special
The breakfast buffet was excellent and the linen was clean. The hotel was walking distance to the centre. The bathroom was not very clean and I would not use the hairdryer because it was dirty, with mildew inside the hose. The shower was small and an awkward shape. Also the rooms that faced the street are subject to a lot of street noise, even with the window shut. Overnight parking at the large parking lot in front of the hospital was very expensive (not the hotel's fault) so if possible find another alternative.
It was very close to the city centre.
Easy access to town.
The professionalism and friendly of all staff The shortage of room space
location, value for money room and bathroom size
Nice Staff Restaurant hours. They were closed the whole time.
Relatively comfortable room, quiet, hotel not too difficult to find despite blocked road which did not permit access following GPS instructions A clean room should not have rests of potato crisps beside the bed, it did rather put me off
Nice hotel staff, clean and well located. The beds are too soft.
location next to large pedestrianised city centre, withgood facilities towalk around. Parking a big hassle. Most staff rather dour.Room and shower compact-but not costly.Domestics repeatedly invaded room next morning as we were packing up,well before checkout time.Restaurant was shut, but plenty to look at nearby.
Very convenient location for town centre and the underground car park was good as parking in Metz is a nightmare Can hear neighbours and the hallways echo.
Reception were very pleasant and welcoming, speaking good English. Rooms were clean. Hotel was in a quiet location. Parking close to the rooms was not possible therefore making carrying heavy bags more difficult. The evening menu seemed varied, but all our meals were very oily. Breakfast was adequate but had to keep asking for more water/juice/milk/cutlery, which was a bit annoying on a buffet breakfast.
Convenience for local autoroutes, a useful stopping point between UK and Italy. The acceptance free of charge of pets. High cost of breakfast. The name of the hotel was not given correctly on the original booking forms, so that the Satnav would not accept the destination.
Very good reception, evening food good. Nice place with lake/pond very nearby. Room was much too hot and could not breath properly in the morning. Breakfast cost too high so we forewent that.
Clean , warm air conditioning , Hot water and shower very good, very well- organized, Booking with active hotels was straight forward and no hassle Young people in the room next door were noisy about 3.00am when they arrived this kept us awake with another day of travel this was not Ideal
It was a convinient stop driving from Strasbourg to Paris.Room was good size, clean and there was plenty of hot water for morning showers for 3. Can't beat the price. Needed more power outlets. We only found one. Plus one more if you unplug TV.
The staff particularly the Manager was most helpful. The menu was good particularly the Buffets for starters and sweets. The location was also good with a picturest lake beside it and convenient for the city The air conditioning was extremely poor
The croissants at breakfast were fresh Really dirty room, floor was filthy, other peoples hair in sink and on floor, bedside lamp not working, stale bread served with evening meal. Hotel in a rough part of town in industrial area and large rough looking council estate. very over priced compared to other clean hotels in much nicer surroundings.
location next to lake.easy to find from motorway and the childrens breakfast was free nothing
meals and the lake view
use of pool
Situated in a beautiful part of the city, secure parking included. Very comfortable hotel with multilingual staff who were very courteous and helpful. Surrounding area has a number of restaurants
The location was fantastic for Historic Metz. The staff were outstanding and very accomodating. The decor in hallways and rooms could be updated...looks dated and dingy. Breakfast room and lounge were very nice.
The hotel was in an excellent position. It was within easy walking distance of the shops but far enough away to enjoy the ambiance of an old town. There were many restaurants to choose from in close proximity. It was not easy to access the internet.
central position, nice lobby Room is in need of decoration (carpet hanging down) and is pretty small for the price. We requested a travel cot and were told it would be in our room but when we got there it wasn't.When we then asked again for one, nobody was able to build one up for us. We were even asked to go down to reception to exchange the one we had and wasn't working for another one ourselves because the receptionist was the only person working at that time and she was busy. She did come up to our room in the end but couldn't manage to build any of the two existing beds up. In the end our daughter had to sleep on a big mattress on the floor because we were worried she would roll out of the big bed without side protection. We weren't charged for it though at least.
Position. Metz is a great City. Had the choice of rooms which were a little dated but clean and adequate
Location excellent for visiting the Cathedral and other main sights. Excellent view over the Port du Saint Marcel. Room decor was slightly shabby (i.e. frayed wallpaper, etc.) & in need of updating.
I was travelling from UK to Italy with a car load of stuff and the convenient private car park was a godsend.I was only there overnight but the simple room was fine. Breakfast was satisfactory and the prices were reasonable. Initially, I was disappointed that the restaurant was closed, but the street outside was full of excellent restaurants.
free good working internet very ssmall room
The manager was excellent. Helpful and welcoming. 5 stars. The menu in the restaurent was very limited and initially the service poor but the waitress was told to sort herself out by the manager and did smile eventually.
freindly all good
The staff was friendly and accomodating. It was easily found and parking was on site. The room was spacious and clean. The food was excellent and the service very friendly. A good value all around. No complaints.
The evening meal was very good Smell of smoking in a requested non smoking room
the bed a little bit shabby
it was just a stopover,no problem with hotel but town very quiet. being charged for bike parking
The receptionist doesn't speak English, however it wasn't a problem.
Hotel was shut and unattended when we arrived and after waiting an hour we had to get help from a member of the public to gain entry.Breakfast was very poor value and we had to pay extra to park our car.
