Friendly staff, good indoor swimming pool and table tennis centre. Restaurant and 10 pin bowling offered great value for money. Well deserved its 4 star rating.
Very nice hotel, located in a beautiful, small German Village with an old castle overlooking the village. Exceptional pool and spa facilities and a very good breakfast buffet included in the room rate. Free on site parking. Great location for a wide variety of walks and cycle rides.
The staff and food were excellent and the hotel was very comfortable.
Loved the spa facility, and the good variety of choice of treatment. The meals were excellent. The room and bathroom were very clean. There was even a kettle in the room with different teas. It was very quiet, so we got some well needed rest. There should at least be a fan provided in the rooms for the summer. It got very hot in the middle of the night, even with the window open.
relaxing, very little traffic, food and services were all fantastic, and the staff were all very helpful. the only thing that was not to my pleasing was the carpet on the floors, I found them in halls to be dirty and smelling.
all the facilities
Great location. Staff very helpful despite language limitations (mine and theirs). Lots to do at the hotel and great surroundings.
Staff were curteous and helpful. The setting of the hotel was beautiful. The kitchen closed at 10pm and the waitress had not made us aware of this until we ordered dessert and were told we were too late. There were no tea making facilities in the room.
Excellant facilities staff helpful. English menue available None
Friendly staff, good food, good value for money Not bad as such, clearly refurbishment is underway - but my room had dated look
Old fashioned spa-hotel, very atmospheric. Good spa and sauna facilities. Bathroom had a stale smell; needed airing.
Everything is excellent...I would recommend this hotel to everybody who likes thermal spa facilities.
very good hotel very good foodgood
Excellent breakfasts, good location Parking was a problem, particularly for my disabled wife
We loved our stay at Häckers Kurhotel. The hotel is placed in Bad ems a really small town, and it felt like you were seperated from the rest of the world. Time stod still. The hotel itself was wonderful, the staff was really really serviceminded and the breakfast was excellent...So if you are looking for a hotel and surroundings to completely relax in- this is the place..
Staff and Breakfast. This is an old resort slowly coming to an end. Terrible furniture, worst sheets. One room smelled, another extremely dark (had to upgrade it). Bathrooms were fine. Only for older people interested in hot spring.
one of the best spa hotels I ever visited
upgrade me to a better room as the original room was not ready the spa should also be opening in the morning
We loved the Spa and Welness. Room was very nice and breakfast excellent. A place to relax. Nice view also from the room.
The pool and the Sauna Landschaft - the beautiful setting of the hotel. We loved the Sauna Landschaft, but it was closed one day, and we find it strange that nakedness should be compullsory (seems a very strange German wish for strict rules) - anyway neither we nor several others stripped our swimsuits!. We came mainly for the Offenbach Festival Concert, but we thought it strange that the restaurant doesnt adapt to the times of the concerts: no way to have dinner at the hotel before or after concert. An improvement would also be to have easy access to Internet even without bringing a laptop. But we had a lovely time! Karl Johan Danell
Good conference style hotel. Excellent standard of cleanliness and helpful friendly staff. It is distributed across a hill, so be careful if you're mobility impaired.
Spa and pool were a big hit with us - excellent value for money from that perspective. Rooms modern, well appointed and extremely clean. Location of hotel for wandering into town in evening was an unexpected bonus. Easy access from major highway nearby. Breakfast was very good. Excellent on site (covered) parking. Although advertised as a 4 star, the hotel is very business oriented, not really a place for rest and relaxation with a family. Evening meals are in a cafeteria - not a 4 star restaraunt as we expected. Some difficulty understanding the staff and getting directions to the on-site spa/pool complex - not a major issue but an indicator. Major construction underway on site for next 6 months - not mentioned and detracted a little.
Excellent architecure new and old, good dining, excellent spa. You get a lot of exercise walking up and down the mountain from your bedroom to the facilities, which might actually be a good thing. Not for the infirm or the elderly really.
outeous staff, a workouroom and the rooms were very clean. They also found English speaking personnel when neede. Good breakfast and dinner also! No
Very nice hotel located on a hill in a castle. Modern rooms, free dinner in the cafe. Room was in a building at the bottom of the hill in the basement, hostel type of atmosphere, had to go up the hill to the reception. Only suitable for visitors with cars.
Convenience of location when travelling on A3 in mid Germany. Rooms are excellently appointed and Room Rate includes buffet style dinner.
We like the room, the breakfast and the spa facilities. They were excellent. Everything was in the separate buildings. To go to the swimming pool, you have to walk up to the hill where is located and walk back again after being in the sauna. Also, you should be prepared to be in the mixed sauna with out your swimming suite.Another point that it is more or less for business people not for families.
modern, no frills and clean hotel
Very clean and friendly, excellent food and facilities
Very nice location, nice room Restaurant is only self service
The stay was nice, the hotel team is frendly, the location is in a beautiful, the room is nice and clean No
loved the bier garten next door and the friendly staff and the local people reception was dated and gave the wrong impression of the clean large bedrooms
Central riverside location in a quiet attractive town, and a very good evening meal in the pavement terrace restaurant.
Didnt like being charged 25 euros for putting some sheets onto a sofa. Should have been advised the cost in advance. Didnt like being told we couldnt use the free parking opposite and being told to use the paid parking some distance away so they could make some more money.
Pleasant staff. Good bar. As the room was at the back of hotel and facing a cliff, it was quite dark.
the food was very good, choice of wines was perfect, and the cook/owner was very attentive. the staircase to the rooms upstairs is a bit difficult for older people who carry luggage. maybe the hotel can assist older people carry their luggage upstairs. one small problem with the breakfast buffet where guests can make fresh orange juice themselves with a squeezing machine: the idea is nice, but in practice it does not work very well to squeeze the oranges. It takes a long time and it is easy to hurt your hands.
It is in a clean and quiet town located only 18 minutes by train from Koblenz Station. Because it is a little further out from major tourist attractions, I found my hotel room to be very spacious, well-equipped for the price with free Wi-Fi and the quietest of all the hotel rooms that I stayed in during my trip. The restaurant at the hotel also served pretty decent food for dinner and the waitresses can speak a bit of English. If you want to visit Cochem, Koblenz (or Bonn / Cologne if you have a Eurorail pass), then this is a good hotel to stay in as a base for your day trips: quiet, well-equipped, clean, and well-priced. Nothing bad about the hotel, but make sure you check your train schedule as to when you catch your trains. Sometimes, there can be as few as just one train every hour or so.
Staff really friendly. Staff really friendly. Beautiful scenery. No lift, rooms all on the 1st floor, not suitable for handicapped.
Great location, great views, extremely quiet and restful. Food and wine were excellent, service and friendliness were wonderful. We speak very little German but the staff were very helpful.
The staff is top! The restaurant is also very good. Great value for money. none
The breakfast was amazing and so too were the staff! I can't say enough good things about this place. It was perfect for anyone looking to get away from a busy work life. There is ample parking and great roads for the less adverterous. We went on foot from the train station which is possible but its an uphill walk for 40 mins. The rooms are cosy and the view into the valley is superb. I would definitely stay here again.
A very nice privately owned hotel in a picturesque place on a hill with a view on Bad Ems town. The restaurant is very good. The staff is very amiable. The place is quiet, excellent for having a rest and a good sleep. The hotel is isolated from the town on a high hill, and it is possible to get there only by car. But that was not a real problem for us however.
it's a very quiet place, with a very nice viewpoint on the valley. the food was excellent. gorgeous breakfast on the terrace The deco was dated and the pictures of the rooms on the site didn't reflect the reality
Quality is good. Well prepared breakfast. Very friendly staff and well-done hospitality
nice rooms, good breakfast terribly cold in the room, and the heater was chutted down at 19.00 till morning
Not far from town centre - walking distance. Receptionist was helpful. Only lightweight drapes at window, could have done with proper curtains. Pillows needed more of.
cheap internet invoice not ready on depard. It was not clear to me that I had to pay there and that the booking.com credit card info is not billed (I hope)
The location is nice outside the village with nice walks close by, why it is supposed to be romantic I do not understand and the river Lahn is not particulalry close by. The restaurant is just ok...
It was a beautiful location and landscape was covered with snow. The food was excellent. It was great value for money. The downside was that the owner was in hospital and the staff seemed unable to manage the guesthouse. A bit like Faulty Towers!! We were relaxed though and made the most of it all. Put it down to another type of experience.
The staff were very understanding of poor German vocabulary! Stayed because son working in area.
A delightful hotel with an excellent restaurant. The location above the Lahn was good despite being situated alongside a busy road. The hotel only accepts EC card no Credit Cards. This is a problem for UK travellers who don't carry large amounts of cash. The hotel indicated this might change in May 2009
The location - town at fromt, open country at rear - is charming. The 600 year old building is full of character.
Friendly owner food exeptional the new years buffett was unbelievable Rooms had been worked on to provided comfort Would stay again Slight problem carrying luggage up stairs
The friendliness of the staff
Very nice place to stay. No
A nice hotel at a very affordable price. The hotel is located near the river Lahn andf close to the Nassau castle. The hotel is unfortunately a bit remote from the highway, and for that reason not very suitable for my purposes. If not, I would go there a lot. Francesco
They were very understanding of our poor German vocabulary! Charming hotel.
Perfect, nice room, great breakfast, good meal in the restaurant.
The location was convenient-in the middle of the historical, quaint section of Montabaur - good for sightseeing. A short taxi ride from the train station. Shops and restaurants, only steps away. The staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. Very willing to carry my suitcase up the stairs because there is no elevator. The breakfast, included in the price, was excellent. It's not a fancy place, but definitely clean and cosy.
Location and very relaxed atmosphere Smoke from smoking room went up into the stairhouse and smoke is ditributed via the air-ventilationsystem? At least in the bathroom you could smell cigarettes-air.
The hotel is in an excellent location in a pretty, small town. It is clean, friendly and very good value for money. Parking is a bit odd.
The staff were most friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and the position in the centre of the old town ideal for visiting the castle and other sights. There is no lift which makes it difficult for handicapped people.
Good location Rooms are clean but needs refurbishment, mattresses have seen too many guests.
Very conveniently located in the town centre, relaxed atmosphere, very helpful staff and good food
Stated on booking form that credit cards where accepted this is not the case
We chose this hotel as it was centrally located on the Rhein river. The hotel is very nice, clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and spoke English. The price of the on site meals was good. The free breakfasts were also great. A great hotel as a base camp to travel up and down the Rhein for sightseeing.
The hotel was exactly as described. Very clean and comfortable. It was a jump-off location for our visit to the home of the Schoenstatt Marian movement. The night we were there, we had a lovely dinner in the hotel dining room. Breakfast the next morning was tasty and abundant. This family run hotel is very user-friendly. Our room was smallish but rooms in most of the economy hotels in Europe are smaller and it was expected.
The staff is very very nice and have a lot of information on the area. The room was great. Huge and very clean. Right on the bus line. Not near the city center at all so be aware in case you think it is. I was surprised to see how far it was though it is right on a bus line so can take that into town.
The service was very good, as was the food in the restaurant
Staff were very friendly, rooms were big and comfortable. a good option for travellers with a car who don't mind staying in the outskirts of Koblenz. Disappointed with breakfast, we asked the day before what time it would be served at and they said from 8 to 10. We were there at 9:00, most food was gone and was not being replaced. Eggs, ham, cheese, bread, etc. We even had to ask in reception for bread as the only thing that was refilled was the coffee machine...
Hotel was very clean staff good family run hotel would stay there again Roadworks taken place when we were there which made parking difficult
quiet surrounding, nice restaurant, large rooms, very good pricing. some lamps did not work
frendly sound of other rooms could be heared easely
Family run hotel, nothing too much trouble had to leave very early in morning, lovely hot and cold breakfast. Also good selection from menu for evening meals.
