Central to the town so lovely to be able to walk in quickly. The hotel is spacious- reception is well laid out. Cleaning staff knocking on the room door at 9.a.m, particularly on Saturday morning when you are not checking out that day.. but also on Sunday..
Lovely to be so close to the centre. With a party and prepaid afternoon tea and dinner. Afternoon tea was urns of tea and coffee and prewrapped biscuits. Not 4 star rather like a poor B&B offering! TV screen really dirty and dusty. No soap dish. Half used shampoo. Not even a post card in the drawer. All quite shabby for the price asked and not like any 4 star hotel you would find elsewhere in Europe.
The Hotel was clean & tidy, rooms were a good standard. Staff very helpful, its a Holiday Inn. The Beds do take some getting use to, the pillows soft or hard are not good. Paying £10 for wifi - 1st hour is expensive. The hotel can have an issue at breakfast if everyone decends at 7.30 / 8am as they can run out of food and the tables can be full and not cleaned !!!, I waited over 10 min and when i eventually got my breakfast I sat down at a table that had not been cleaned away, full of cups and plates, throughout my breakfast nothing on my table or around me was cleaned or moved !!...other than that its a Holiday Inn and getting better
It is in a really great location.
Close by the town and easy to walk to the main venues of the city. had a power outage which was not their fault but when that happened the lifts in morning did not work, so staying on 3rd floor was a bit of a hike with all bags if you have a wife/Girlfriend
The warmth of the hotel (bitterly cold outside during our stay) and the lovely breakfasts. In fact, we liked eveything. There was nothing we disliked.
clean rooms fresh and friendly staff yes the window did not open, it was screwed shut and when asked for a fan ( as my wife is 7 months pregnant) we did not get one.
room was overlooking the river
The Hotel was central to everything we wanted to see. Staff were very helpful. Food - excellent with good choice including dietary requirements. I have some mobility problems and a room was arranged for us near to lift which was great.
Location very convenient. Quality very good and very well maintained. Is it necessary to charge customers for car parking if they are paying guests?
Very good for sight seeing, Theatre, shopping, every thing is close to hand with in walking distance.
Location of the hotel and the facilities Room faced noisy road and church with a clock that tolled every hour
Great room, excellent staff, great location for the town and surrounding area. Thought the en suite could have been cleaner.
The room was a little tired and in need of redecoration.
It was near to the theatre The room was of a poor standard with filthy net curtains. We had mould in the bathroom and wrinkles in the carpet. We had stayed at better B&B's in Stratford. This was a birthday treat for me and I was severely disappointed.
it was right in the heart of Stratford and there were good parking facilities. All staff were very friendly the bathroom was a bit shabby
Very comfortable with modern and historic feel to different parts of hotel. Very cosy by open fire in traditional surroundings. Food well cooked and presented but menu rather limited particularly from day to day. No real problems but lack of drawer space in bedroom and shelf space in bathroom.
The room was delightfully unusual with oak beams. The hotel itself was very pleasant and ideally located. I also liked the RAF and Navy display in the lobby. Breakfast, although adequate, did not quite match the rest of my very good experience at this hotel.
the convenience of the hotel to the town and theatre, and also the pleasantness of the staff. although the tv was receiving digital stations, very few apart from the five main ones were available. Specifically BBC4.
the position of the hotel needed decorating
convenient and clean
central free carpark
Good location, room was well furnished and clean, an empty fridge was very useful. Didn't suffer from banging doors and creaking floorboards. Excellent car park location and easy access to the hotel from the car park that didn't appear to be locked - so no mammoth treks to have a late night cigarette. No internet, the broadband connection in my room didn't work so I had to pay £40 to use WiFi when it is free at most hotels in the area. When I got the WiFi it was a poor connection and didn't work at all for most of one night. Room key card was erratic at best - it took me around five swipes on average to get into my room.
The location was perfect for visiting Stratford as only a short walk over the river into the town centre. The staff were extremely friendly and the hotel had a very relaxed atmosphere. The room was very clean and had everythiong we needed inclusing an iron and board already in the room. Our stay wasn't long enough! Could have done with an explanation at check in on how the plug in the sink worked as we thought our was broken!
We only stayed one night, but it was comfortable, clean, very convenient short walk to the Theater, not far from the rail station, walkable to the sights. People were friendly, and room service breakfast was right on time, so we could catch our train to London.
no dining facilities
the breakfastroom and quality of breakfast No lift and long walking distances
quiet, calm location
This is a good hotel and is very conveniently situated for the town and for walks along the river. We have stayed here many times and it is our first choice for a hotel in Stratford. The cost of breakfast if you just want tea and toast. Not enough parking.
extremely close to the RST theatre, no more than 5m walk; very quiet, free parking, great breakfast and very comfortable bedroom. waiting staff on the restaurant could be increased in numbers - or efficiency - waiting 15 minutes for the waiter to take my breakfast order, while the restaurant is half full is the only negative item to point out - the breakfast itself was fantastic.
friendly staff, very good location.
Polite and helpful staff Tv to complecated
Freindly Staff Value for money size of room no bath
Hotel room had a strong smokey smell to it even thogh a non smoking hotel
ease of access to rail station & airport & NEC facilities. The staff were very helpful & polite. Would definately use this hotel again.
Good food and good service Warm, ac would be a benefit
The hotel was comfortable When we entered the room it was freezing. There was no instuctions on how to use the heating/cooling system. We booked an early morning call for 7am, this was not forthcoming and as a result were later than expected for an engagement. When this was pointed out to reception at checkout all that was offered was 'sorry' I feel we should have been offered maybe a free breakfast as compensation.
The public areas were very welcoming, the restaurant was very good and the staff were very helpful. The coldness of the breakfast room which was almost next to the front door.
The staff were very helpfull and the location being close to the NEC The hairdryer in our room did not work.
Efficient and friendly Staff Very good pool and liesure set up Room a little basic - very little toiletries and no biscuits with the coffee/tea making facilities
Easy access to NEC site The decor is a bit "tired" although I appreciate the hotel is well used 24/7
Comfortable hotel with character right in centre of town. Ideal for visiting historical houses and close to lots of restaurants.
Very convenient for the theatres and with on-site parking (which can be a problem in Stratford) this is a comfortable and characterful hotel which is good for a short stay. The staff are pleasant and intend to be helpful; but things can go amiss. For example a room service request was overlooked and a dinner reservation got lost between the front desk and the restaurant.
Location (very central), friendly and helpful staff, character. WiFi was very accessable Room was a bit worn. No mention was made before arrival (eg at time of booking) of £10 per night charge for use of the carpark.
The friendliness of the staff. The fact we were able to book in slightly earlier than 2pm having travelled all the way from Scotland. The hum of the air conditioning unit outside our bedroom window.
The location was superb. The junior suite was well worth the extra with a separate lounge area. Having real log fires burning made it feel warm and cozy. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy a hot drink near the fire. The hotel building is old and whilst the rooms are very clean and well decorated the plumbing is old with low water pressure and about 15 minutes before very hot water reaches you. All part of the old world charm I guess.
Location, Food, Character Building. Being charged for car parking.
We really enjoyed the ambiance of the hotel. The decor and furniture have been chosen for ultimate comfort and cosiness and have achieved a "home from home" feeling and yet still offer luxury. Nothing springs to mind.
I liked the "character" of the hotel and that it had air-conditioning. The room and bath was large, the bed very comfortable, and the hotel is in a great location.
Great location for accessing attractions. Liked the ambiance of the hotel. Staff were obliging. Room was cramped (bathroom was not).Poorly equiped-tv did not work. No clock/radio. No pen. Most importantly- no space to put clothing- We had to live out of our suitcase.
The hotel is clean and suits the character of Stratford upon Avon. The log fires are lovely! The hotel were not helpful with the problems we experienced during our stay. The breakfast was poor quality, badly served and the staff were not helpful.
wonderful, excellent for a romantic evening- four poster bed well worth it, central to stratford
only stayed one night but was very clean and staff very helpful. Good city centre location Charge for car parking over the top when paying this price for a room
The location of the hotel was good. It will suit those who don't like modern and prefer the olde worlde feel. The Bar/Lounge was interesting with some historic features and 2 open fires - although they weren't lit when we were there. Our room was right at the back of the hotel and quite a walk from reception. In fact the walk itself was interesting as you had to pass through several doors passing some scary looking pictures on the wall. The room itself was an anti-climax - small and overlooking a car park at the back of the hotel. It was also in a more recent addition to the hotel and therefore had no old features. Looking at the plan of the hotel on the fire exit map it looked like we had one of the smallest rooms in the hotel. Should have paid the extra tenner for a superior double! I'd recommend the hotel if the room was better.
Great location, friendly staff
Bed was extremely comfortable, staff on front desk were friendly, except the lady who checked us out. the breakfast service was a little slow.
We were very pleased with our choice as we just booked over the internet, your hotel was very comfortable, the breakfasts delicious and the staff exemplery. As I booked on line I requested a ground floor room as I have just recently had 2 knee replacement operations, I was a bit disappointed I had to struggle up apprx 20 stairs to room 10 I wish I had been told before arrival that our room was on the first floor. Apart from that I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would book again next year.
Friendly staff, excellent price, accommodation and location Only comment would be that when the bar closed in the evening there was only a night porter on duty who not only had to man the desk but also attend customers wanting drinks, which seemed too much for one person!
Beautiful hotel, efficient staff. Fairly poor shower in the bathroom.
Location very good for theatre, river walks and shopping. Staff very nice. Rooms need refurb. Heating problems need sorting (didn't like being cold).
The hotel was excellent. Dead Centre for everything. My husband and I we slept like logs. We where in room 42. If I stayed again ( and I definately would ) I would request that room again. Thanks Only down point. I absolutly love banoffee pie and it wasn't the best. Think the chef needs a little more practice. Also my friends had a little trouble sleeping as the bar down the street Oscars was very loud. I think this would put a lot of people off.
This is very good example of a tourist friendly hotel for its location of Stratford upon Avon. Lots of features embrace its acknowledgement of Shakespeare's town. Very cosy and the room was comfortable and warm. The location did put it on the nightime path of homeward bound party-people and the street noise of these people did filter into the room well into the early hours.
Nice large rooms, good service, good food.
The bedrooms were of a nice design, the breakfast was very good, there was plenty of free parking. Had trouble with getting sky news on tv
Breakfast was very poor
The breakfasts have been going there for a number of years and felt that the hotel under this management had lost the personel touch in service
Breakfast was very good. Hotel was quiet and had a good night's sleep. Efficient room service. Felt like a well-run establishment. Helpful staff. Location near the centre of Stratford - good parking so could just walk from then on. Logistics all worked for our theatre trip. Room was bland, dark and a bit dated - sort of up market rep.factory. Decor of public rooms was a bit depressing - fake gothic. Again dated. Not an inviting lounge area at all.
the hotel was very clean. staff were helpfull.and it was within waking distance of the town centre. the food was exalent
Excellent facilities for a weekend break - car parking especially appreciated No
Just a clean and lovely well run hotel No
near to town centre. friendly staff
Gorgeous room, amazing lush bathroom with bath and shower - brilliant location and really welcoming staff - a really luxury hotel. We weren't very impressed by the breakfast, it was a bit over-the-top pretentious meal when actually it would have been better just to have a good standard english breakfast, also it felt quite unrelaxed and a bit forced/overly posh.
Excellent staff, who really went out of their way to help. Nice coffee, shampoo etc. Little bit soulless like a barrats show-room- but nice.
A wonderful relaxing place for a weekend break
staff brilliant, room spotless upgraded to suite but the bathroom faced reception with ordinary glass in window had netting over but at night with the light on you could see in so felt uncomfortable having shower or bath
The Arden Hotel is dedicated to making your stay special. I truly enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to anyone.
Excellent. Recent renovation makes for very smart, luxurious hotel. Staff were wonderful, very helpful. Restaurant also very good. Opposite RSC so location perfect. Worth a return visit.
Beautiful duel aspect room. Perfect location. Lots of nice little touches. No air conditioning
A lovely warm welcome when we arrived and an equally nice room. We enjoyed our night here and felt very much at home. The place is very well done up with well maintained gardens.
A very nice place to stay, ideally located for access to town and surrounding area. rooms were tidy, well maintained and tastfully decorated. Owners very friendly without being intrusive. only one comment. pillows were too soft!
Fantastic location, nice clean rooms, welcoming, town centre is walking distance. Truly a five star stay and yes the breakfast was excellent! Highly recommended and will come back.
excellent facility with lots of quality furnishings. very close to the town centre and the pub in shottery village! the proprietors were friendly and welcoming. the bedroom doors need to have locks.
church Farm Barns is to me the ideal place to spend time exploring Stratford and the surrounding area.
Local to attractions
The location was very good. We could not be allocated a non-smoking room as requested. The advertsied parking facilities were inadequate thus costin an additional £15.00 for the overnight stay.
Staff extremely helpful, rooms very nice and comfortable. Excellent for the town and theatres. Excellent location and facilities
everything really, room was very well equiped (we had an executive room) and very clean and the food was gorgeous. I'm affraid my only complaint was the mattress, it wes far far to soft for my liking, it didn't look old or in poor condition or anything it was just too soft for me, it felt like i was sleeping on a banana, but i didn't complain to the hotel as i don't supose they keep spare mattresses!!! I just slept on the sofa bed which was i bit more firm.
Excellent breakfast with a lot of choice and good quality. Location was perfect for our visit. Car parking was difficult, but adequate considering the location. Checkout was very slow.
Staff were very helpful
the position to the town centre
Easy location, comfortable room
The location Check-in staff rather vague & not particularly welcoming
Close enough to the town centre without the need to drive Our room was above the bar which was noisey on the saturday night
location, friendly staff, clean stylish hotel.quick checkout. swimming pool area too dark, steam room not working, changing rooms dated.
It was excellent value for money, the staff were very helpful and the food was very good. For a four star hotel the cleanliness of our room was not up to the standard I expected. For example the room was not hoovered during the course of the three night stay or if it was it was not done satisfactorily as various items were on the carpet throughout our stay
Lovely, friendly helpful staff, lovely breakfast and plenty of it.
modern, clean room. Good food. Two choices of wine being 'unavailable'.
swimming pool It was more suited for business people.
Very friendly staff both on reception and in the restaurant. I expected more in terms 'wow' from a four star hotel. The decor is dated and could benefit from an uplift.
It was very clean and modern, very welcoming, a joy to stay there. Wanted to stay a further night but you were booked up. Very good deal for the price we paid. will def come back again. The staff were very helpful and found us alternate accomodation for the extra night we wanted to stay. Although it was three miles away from the town centre this did not cause us any problems as it was such a lovely place visit.
The breakfast was good with plenty of choice. I had disabled bathroom facilities which were excellent for my needs and spotlessly clean. The room was very dark as trees prevented much sunlight coming through the window.
cleaniness and friendly staff no windows in restaurant, a pity given the location of the hotel
LOCATION AND SURROUNDINGS. LOVELY SETTING. CLEAN, CONTEMPORY ROOMS.
The staff were very nice, always helpful and cheerful too. The food in the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced. There were no minibar or air conditioning in the room. The drinks in the main bar was not serve with a bowl of nibble nor were you able to purchase it if you wanted to.
The staff were very helpful The room was a bit dated - windows didnt quite fit and heating was difficult to regulate
Excellent breakfast incl. in price
The staff were extremely friendly and efficient. The dining staff were very well trained. The buffet breakfast was excellent Nothing came to mind
nothing very cold hotel, too quiet, not very friendly, old torn carpets in corridors, price of food and drinks hidious
The relaxed comfortable atmosphere
Location Quality of food Sevice Some lack of availability of menu
Staff were very helpful. Corridors were shabby and full of creaky floorboards. Windows in room were badly fitting and worn. All doors locked at around 11pm apart from the main door and one other, which was annoying.
Extremely comfortable, clean accommodation; breakfast and dinner excellent in terms of choice, presentation, service etc etc Bit noisy as our room was in close proximity to the function room - pleased the disco did not go on any later into the night!
The restauraunt was good for evening meals and breakfast and the service was very good.
Very comfortable bed. Staff were very helpful and upgraded us when we objected to our original room.I also left a ring behind which the staff located and returned to me very promptly. Initially claimed they had no booking for us,eventually resolved after the intervention of Booking.com but wasted time we wanted to wander around Stratford.Initial room could not be accessed as lock didn't work-then shown a room overlooking the car park which had cars a few inches from the window.Upgraded room had obviously not been checked very carefully as there were dead lightbulbs next to the bed, insufficient towels in the bathroom, and the previous occupants comments form still on the desk. We were also offered a discount for the dining room which was only applied when I queried the bill on check out.
Attention to details, cleanliness, owner was clearly putting a lot of love and effort in sharing their house with the customers None
Probably one of the the best guest houses we've stayed in.
Comfortable, excellent breakfast, very friendly and welcoming.
On arrival the receptionist was very un welcoming. She was ubrupt and basically rude. She was also unaware of the rate we had agreed with yourselves, although did accept it
the very large king size bed and the leisure facilities, food was also very nice no the hotel was very good
The room was typical clean and servicable The added costs of parking and booking wasn't inclusive of breakfast.staff needed some customer care training and attitude seemed laissez faire and an impostion th\at they had customers!
We were upgraded. Location to the town. Choice for Breakfast
Spacious room The bar was noisy but one had to consider that there was a wedding reception
nice and quiet in the bedroom
We enjoyed the spa as we needed to relax after our long drive and our bad start to our stay with you. comment sent to customer service. Cold room and having to wait to have our breakfast.
Bar meals poor paid £5.50 for jacket spud with cheese only just warm and the size was so small it would not fill a child. We also had a pizza at £8.50 which was one we could have gone and brought from tescos plus it was so over cooked I could not eat any of the edge as it was so hard and again only just warm.Plus the hotal as followed other hotels in which the customer has to make his owen coffee in morning which is out of a machine ( rubbish)
My room was very spacious, clean, comfortable, and quiet. Staff were very helpful.
Located near to NEC Staff inexperienced and not the most customer orientated. Quite expensive for the quality and the limited facilities.
It was clean and comfotable. the staff were polite friendly and helpfull
Convenient location. Low noise level from outside. Comfortable. Couldn't get a small snack with a glass of wine.
A perfect setting in a beautiful suburb not far from NEC Good food and a friendly staff
I thought the whole experience staying at the Manor was a very pleasant one, from the warm welcome on arrival the service at breakfast through to the help I received on departure. Nothing
The Hotel was big but still very cosy. The standards of the rooms outweighed my expectations and I was upgraded for free as there was a better room available. I really couldnt recommend this hotel enough
The breakfast service & food were both good & efficient The long walk and lack of lifts to my room
Excellent hotel, highly recommended
Bars One bar closed early
The staff were very friendly even though the hotel was very quiet.Especially the lady who served in the Triumph bar and the food was excellent
Gorgeous hotel! My room was absolutely fabulous and comfortable. The bed was fantastic, bathroom was great. I have enjoyed my stay and I would recommend this hotel to anyone without any hesitation.
Hotel staff were friendly, good location, spacious room after upgrade, child friendly, good gym Hotel room could have been cleaner, pool times for children were limited
Nice setting, good facilities Room was a bit small. Cold water tap did not work.
good location, lovely grounds, although could do with some care and attention, beautiful old manor house. staff on reception need need more customer care training, ignored my wife completely thoughout the checking in process, although better on checkout.
The Gym.swimming pool etc. Kept waiting 45 minutes after given menu for evening meal, breakfast was until 10, they had cleared it by 9.45.
The general feel of the Manor was lovely. It was offset in beautiful countryside and was peaceful and serene. The little outhouse where my boyfriend and I stayed was modern and cozy. The main part of the house was overflowing with character and had an antique feel. I do not have a bad word to say about Billesley Manor
It was clean and the staff were very professional It wasn't quite the style that I usually go for and it didn't translate well into the pictures on the website - the bathroom was like something out of a horror movie circa 1972 - needs updating!
The size of the room.Well spaced out.Good food.Very curtious staff. The price of G and Ts.The lighting good have been better in the room. The wife also says that the facilities to do her make-up werent to clever. She likes to sit by a mirror.Obviously this did not affect me.
Nothing stands out . The breakfast was every day was cold and very confusing having three rooms ,all the food should have been in one room not two.
Building and garden are fantastic. The waiters for the dinner took good care of us, very professional. The swiming pool was open for children (ours were 11 and 13) only a very reduced period (apparently only from 14-17h), as if tourists are going to be in the hotel in that part of the day. The worst: this was apparently done to keep the "swiming pool members" (not customers of the hotel) happy and calm so they can have a quiet swim after their work.
helpfull staff, good food, easy parking no
Food okay Reception - bloody slow. Bar - cold and slow servioce.
Good price, in a good location, it had very comfortable beds and pillows, nice fire in the bar. Buffet breakfast not great, the food was served too cold. And the temperature in the bar was too cold also.
The relaxed atmosphere and friendliness of staff.
Good value at £59 but not if if it was dearer Standards have slipped in last 3 years Breakfast not so good No biscuits in rooms Had the nerve to charge residents to park there!
We were close to the NEC (attending Crufts) Hotel easy to find, we were made welcome - no charge for our dog, (unlike most hotels/travel lodges). Breakfast delicious and service excellent! Had slight problem with leak on shower attachment (got soaked!) and bath taps a bit strange.
Lobby bar, reception service. No service at breakfast, cold plates, had to ask twice for tea, then had to get own cups, knifed forks ect... Off other tables, in view of waiters who did or said nothing. Room smelt damp and looked a little dated.
No draught beer
Excellent value for money on the price we paid. Plenty of available car parking space. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location to Birmingham and walking distance to Touchwood shopping centre. Good breakfast and leisure centre. Its was cold. Very cold in the corridors and room was cold, as the heating system was not working. Vector heaters had already been given out, but extra blankets were delivered to our room very promptly. Only heating in the room was the bathrooms towel rail.
Good leisure facilities, Good rooms
The Spa area and the general setting were excellent
The beautiful countryside around the hotel, the peace and quiet, the good service. The use of the spa facilities
Very good food, staff went out of their way to help out. Lovely open fire in main lounge. Wonderful spa facilities Felt that as we were on a 2 night package we were given the cheapest rooms. Booking for spa treatments was messed up by the staff so only 2 therapists were available instead of the 3 we had booked
the spa area was excellent the room was cold and the towels needed replacing
The spa facilities Service was slow and children allowed everywhere including the spa which limited our enjoyment.
Staff polite, helpful and friendly. Beautiful Room. excellent spa.
Fantastic building, ideal location for visiting Stratford
The spa facilities were excellent.
Food, Golf & Comfort The Distance of the Golf Course (Club House) From the Hotel
I found the host extremely welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was superb.
The fact that Arden Park is non-smoking is terrific. I couldn't imagine staying in a B&B where people were constantly smoking in the common rooms. Also, the bed was incredibly comfortable, the room was large, and everything was very clean. It was very near the train station, making it super-easy to get into town, check in and drop off our stuff, and then go right on into town and start our itinerary. We will be staying there the next time we visit Stratford-upon-Avon. Breakfast is no great shakes - hard-boiled eggs, croissants with jam, and cereal - but there is fresh tea/coffee and it's perfectly fine.
Mark was an excellent host and the accommodations for our family of four were just perfect for our stop at Stratford Upon Avon. The location was very close to the city center and all the sites. There was a nice selection of food for breakfast and free parking at a nearby car park after checking in with Mark.
Pleasant, comfortable with fresh continental style breakfast inc excellent fresh coffee and warm crossants.
It was simple, very clean and comfortable
Host was excellent.
service was lovely and friendly beds were too hard
Location close to Stratford made it easy to walk to sights, pubs, restaurants, etc. Breakfast did not start until 8.30 and they were unwilling to serve earlier or even leave out a simple toast and cereal for me as I had to leave at 7.30.
The breakfast room was adorable and good service and help Nothing to not like
Near to train station, Room adequate in size, access to internet.. Cold breakfasts, sheet & blanket needed rather than heavy comforter.
