it reminded me of travel inns
The price Restaurant closed at 9 pm
Easy access to a1 and m18 Spacious rooms Good supply of hot watre and well-appointed bathroom Parking too distant from reception - sign saying 'let your luggage off at main door, then park would have been helpful room very much too far from reception signs to get back to reception very few and far between - got lost newspaper did not arrive by sunday morning 9.15, but it was taken off our bill breakfast room could have been cleaner
The gym was one of the best I have ever been to The rooms were very warm, it would have been better if they had air conditioning
Friendliness and helpfullness of the staff
Thew room was great. Needed more pillows and the bed sheets were ripped.
Great value, nice new hotel,in walking distance to a nice pub, good food at a great price,
The hotel staff were freindly and helpful. Environment was clean and well kept. My room was very cold and did not warm up. I had to eventually ask to be transferred to another room.
The room was clean, comfortable and the TV had a range of channels. The hotel postcode was was not accurate for sat nav use as it sent me off the main road into an industrial estate rather than carrying on the road and over some more roundabouts. A lot of building work around the hotel so it looks like an unfinished, barren area. no bath.
took 90 minutes to check in because they could not find me on their system, then they would not check me in and process the visa given because they thought I was doing fraud, even though I had the printed receipt with me, I was booked through my job which I do each week, I arrived early evening when my boss was at an dinner party and they dragged her out from her party as I did not have the company visa with me and she had to drive to her office to open up an e-mail from them to fill forms in then take the company visa out the safe to fax that too them, she missed the starter and the main course, then they put me in a disabled room, it was the most horrific service everything!
A well kept hotel, very clean and in agood position for visiting that area.
Modern, spacious rooms, with good facilities. Restaurant menu is very bland, and I feel this let down the Hotel. Not a menu I could choose from - so eating in the Hotel was not possible - at least for me.
Reception dealt with our complaint about the room smelling badly of cigarette smoke quickly and efficiently and moved us to another room without any problem. The first room that we were put in stank of cigarette smoke. In fact the whole landing smelt of it. The windows had been left open obviously as they had tried to get rid of the smell.
convience to motorway
Noise from motorway traffic. I orderd a wake up call which I did not receive
swimming pool. Lovely rooms.
For a big hotel chain the chef did a great fixed price menu --the pan fried duck was one of the best and the fennel salad !!! brill ,good price wine list the first room offer was no good--it was an upper room with a leaky skylight and the telly was dead with no service men on call at weekend.Natalie at front desk did a great job of room change and the room was good. 10/10 to Natalie as there was a wedding at the same night
The temperature inside the swimming pool area was too hot and unbearable to sit in for more than 10 minutes. The price of the breakfast £12.95 was far too expensive and we did not have it.
The bed was comfortable Overall the hotel needed to be refurbished it was looking tired and well used especially in the restaurant.
Vwry handy for the m1
the party we went to nothing, disgusted
I liked the staff, they were very knowlegable about the area and gave good directions and were helpful. The room was comfortable and had plenty of tea/coffee!! The wardrobe was huge, even had an iron and ironing board. The restaurant was very good value for money. Plenty of room in the lounge bar. I didn't like the constant road noise at the front of the hotel, it didn't stop all night, also a group of residents stood around in the carpark at 2am discussing travel arrangements, the windows at the front could be double glazed to stop this or book a room at the back. The hot water ran out at 6pm too.
Staff were very helpful and friendly, facilities were excellent. No complaints. Good value for money with continental breakfast included. No bad points very pleasant stay.
Pleasent guy on reception. Tired hotel - grubby. Noisy room despite having requested a quiet one. Don't like seeing hairs left in the bathroom /shower - should be cleaned better and shows they don't care. Holiday Inn Express much better.
Location, price + friendly helpful staff. Noisy people walking in the corridor past our door intermittently all through the night.
It was a stay of one night. Thefact that there was no view from the window did not matter on this occasion. There was no soap in the showere container.
Friendly attitude of the staff, cleanliness and excellent value of money no
Good value for money we just used it as a base for visiting relatives. I've stayed there a few times over the last 10 years and the rooms are looking a bit tired - could do with a lick of paint and new carpets.
Good helpful staff; reasonable simple evening food and ample breakfast.Clean. Initally put in smoking room but the nonssmoking room request was not received by the hotel from the booking site.
Rooms were not too hot and we enjoyed the breakfast Fire alarm going off at 2.30am because someone was smoking in their room. Water pressure very poor in the shower and even worse in the sink where it was barely a dribble.
The Staff were very attentive in all matters, My husband was ill during our stay and all the staf were very concerned and did their utmost to help.the food was excellent. This is our 5th year of visiting this hotel (twice yearly) for the Jehovahs Witness Conmvention at The East of the Pennines Assembly Hall at Hellaby. It is very convenient and we are always made very welcome. debbie etheridge
Staff friendly, helpful and efficient. Although room was adequate for our needs ie. Comfy bed, spare bed for our son, tv, internet access, etc. we had to request bedding for the spare bed and extra pillows, towels, etc. - but staff was apologetic and supplied promptly. So not really that bad.
Bedrooms were spacious - bathroom large, very clean with plenty of towels. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast service was rather haphazard although food was well cooked and tasty. Staff were not attentive enough to refilling coffee/tea cups.
Nice people and very helpful, room was first class Problems with catering very slow and not much choice
Hospitable and friendly
Ease of booking through yourselves None apparent
Location Value for money Poor ventation in room
Good service and friedly staff Nothing to report
Friendly staff. Easy access. Comfortable beds. Very cramped. One towel for two in double room! Could not turn washbasin tap off. Shower: a trickle. Ordered newspaper first forgotten, then delivered much later. Breakfast: service a joke (excuse: training new staff!)
Was a great night all the staff were great help with everything we needed thank you
Large well appointed room. Small but efficient restaurant and bar
Only one set of towels between two people. No seal between shower and bath so water poured onto floor! Toilet seat would not stay in upright position.
it was a convenient location for our trip the staff that I encountered were friendly and helpful the cleaner informed us of the closure of the M1 that saved us a long delay. no English breakfast only continental with plastic and paper plates
The member of staff that checked me in when we arrived was very helpful and very friendly No hot food
The fact that everything was new Poor signage when trying to find it
Very clean and rooms did not smell damp like some hotels. Excellent hotel and withing distance to meadowhall.
rooms comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. Use of the facilities next door, free bowling. we didn't opt for the continental breakfast, thankfully, it looked dyer from what we saw had been left outside peoples rooms.
Friendly staff-nice big rooms-plenty of space for our grand children to sleep-good leisure centre next door with discounts for hotel guests
The hotel faciltities were new, up to date and made us feel very at home, great value for money and would stay there again
it was clean, tidy and the staff were very polite and helpful
The hotel was great. It looked as though it had just been re decorated and was spotless. The power shower was fantastic, no complaints about the room at all. There was a carvery pub two minutes away which was excellent value for money. The leisure complex was great and because we stayed in the hotel we got two free games of bowling, saving nearly £20. We visited The Sheffield Arena on the Saturday night and Meadowhall on the sunday, both less than ten minutes away in the car and very straightforward. Only one fault with the whole stay was the fact children were not allowed ito the swimming pool after 2pm. Seeing as we did not check in until 2pm I thought this was unfair. Apart from that, great hotel, great stay. The fact that children could not use the swimming pool after 2pm. We did not check in until 2pm so that seemed unfair.
Clean and ideal location for our visit. Cleaners were very noisy in the morning and even entered our room.
Friendly, professional staff. Superb food. Comfortable clean room. Mattress wee bit too soft and bed not king size. Shower curtain and rail needed replacing in bathroom
location and facilities; good gym
so friendly swimming pool area was very clean
Relaxing spa. Sea bass not properly cooked: uncooked chewy area.
Value for moneey clean
I really enjoyed the swimming pool and spa, it was greaty to relax at the end of a very busy working day at a reasonable price. nothing
Breakfast was good! My room smelt of stale smoke, even though I dont and even after 3 nights it still smelt. maybe a leak in the ventilation...
When we arrived check in was quick and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The room was exceptional very comfortable and great value for money. We enjoyed our stay so much that have booked again for feb. We are saving to afford an upgrade to try the four poster room. Nothing
Friendliness of the staff and pleasantness of the large public rooms As the hotel was very busy, in the evening we had to eat in a small side room which was rather lacking in atmosphere.
I found Hotel exceptional value, a very competative price and high level of service. I reflect this against Hotels I have stayed at in London that are more expensive and not such good service Nothing
Very good value for money. The man on reception was very helpfull, and the room was clean and comfortable. I would definately stay there again. A little out of the way on an industrial estate, but I think that is reflected in the price.
Friendly and cheerful staff.
Too far away from civilisation!
Friendly staff and good food
Staff frindly and customer focused
Has wireless Internet access from bar/resteraunt rooms at front suffer from traffic noise (hotel is next to M18)
Quiet location and friendly service
Great location for where we needed to be. Very helpful staff on check in and for things we needed during the stay.
Helpfulness of staff, availability of parking. Facilities basic but could have paid more elsewhere and not got any better. Not advised that hairdryer, iron etc no longer available in rooms as so many had been stolen!
food dining room and bedroom were not adequately heated for the time of year
Very charming, lots of character. The owner was very welcoming and gracious. Good breakfast. Our room (#3) was very large and had a jumbo tub. The bed was a bit hard.
Very friendly and unobtrusive service in a comfortable environment Not a thing
Comfortable, homely atmosphere
The owners were very friendly and accommodating and attended to all our needs, The room was very comfortable with a lovely corner bath, perfect! Enjoyed the evening meal and breakfast was delicious, would definitely stay again. n/a
Extremely friendly. Room very clean. No bath towels
Friendly, personal service from a family run business
The owners were very friendly, welcomed us with a smile, and gave us a very personal service which was lovely. The hotel itself is a beautiful old stone building and full of character, a very enjoyable stay all round! Perhaps a little dated on decor/bathrooms but still a lovely feel
The friendly atmosphere and attention to detail were very impressive. We had privacy yet were always able to have our needs met. Thank you. Everything was excellent
Clean comfortable bed. Bathroom was not pleasant. Floor looked dirty and the windows were black with mildew as were some of the tiles.
service and location
Friendly staff, cleanliness and location. None
setting in the village rooms smelt a little musty
The location is very nice and it is popular with locals. It has no airs and graces but is very welcoming
great room, excellent breakfast. heater in bathroom didnt work, neither did ligh tover sink.
there were good facilities in the room and the breakfast was excellent also the manager was very receptive to our complaints. the cleanliness of the room carpet was terrible and the whole accomodation had a fusty /damp aroma.Improvements in heating in the bathroom may solve this problem.
Local hospitality Room smelled a little stuffy
Good welcome. Staff very good. Bargain prices in hotel and for food. Very spacious room with jacuzzi bath and even iron and ironing board in room.Convenient for Meadowhall shopping centre and M1. Traffic noise intrusive. CH Radiator faulty.
Good value for a lovely room and great breakfast. Lovely village location (our second time there, loved it the first time and went back with other family members as had a family event happening relatively nearby) no proper coffee
the quite location and excellent room just what i wanted the hot water container at breakfast which was not so hot for tea making
The room, food and drinks were all excellent value for money. Good location for Magna & Meadowhall at Sheffield. Difficult to find, the hotel was signed as the Brentwood Hotel. Reception not manned on arrival, slow check-in.
the relaxing atmosphere
Recently refurbished. Very comfortable bed and nice duvet
The food was good value, 2 of £10 offers. The accomodation was comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The Bathrooms were not really up to standard - mould in grouting and bath seal etc
The staff were very helpful. We arrived on the weekend of the bad snow and ice, and they offered to carry our bags to our room. The next morning, we couldn't get out of the car park, so one of the staff and another gentleman came with salt and shovels and spent 20 mins helping us to get on our way. Waitress in the restaurant for our evening meal was efficient and friendly. The room smelt of stale smoke, the security lights over the car park were very bright and the curtains did not cover the window properly. The extractor fans from the restaurant's kitchen were quite noisy. Though they walked past me a number of times, the two bar staff did not acknowledge me standing there, even though I had been waiting at the bar for some time to order food.
attentive staff and reasonable food at a very good price.
The staff were friendly and food was very nice. The part of the hotel our room was in reminded me of a hospital.
friendly and helpful staff
The staff were very proffesional excellent room . the resterant was good value for money
the breakfast was a good standard the room was very old and dated
Ideal location for purpose of visit with helpful staff. Breakfast provided promptly - no sense of being rushed our despite being last down.
clean, comforable, plenty of room fo a family of 4, very friendly staff, excellent value
The warm, friendly welcome by reception & other staff. Attention to detail & their willingness to help.
the staff could not have been more efficient. they were friendly and courteous and helpful. the room was immaculate and the service in the restaurant could not be faulted. no. it was of a good standard.
5 minutes from M1, good value
I was visiting relatives and the location was ok, there was good parking at front and rear of the hotel The shower did not work properly and could be unsafe, (extreme fluctuations in temperature), although at one point extremely hot water by the second day no shower facilities at all
Location When we arrived we were given a double room when we had booked twin very disappointed with being put in the annexe as was no where near as nice as main hotel
friendly staff. good location, rooms need renovating, especially bathroom, shower very poor. Retaurant prices very high, but good pub with excellent food 2 minutes walk.
Thought the staff were very friendly. We returned late back & were locked out & they were very apologetic when we were unable to return to our room There was a musty smell from my room
The breakfast had several choices and was good value. There was a slight smell of old, stale smoke in the annex, which is where our room was located.
superb food poor state of bath. It was loose and moved while standing in it plus the sealant had gone
Nice clean hotel and most of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Good food. We stayed in the annex block on the ground floor. unfortunately the insulation between this and the upper floor is not very good and we could ha the people above quite easily.Had we been staying longer we would have asked for another room.
Friendly staff As already stated - the poor state of decoration in the room!
Welcoming friendly staff on arrival and helpful assistance re late check out. Dog friendly establishment too which was a big bonus. And lovely cooked breakfast!
