Staff was rude.
Staff were very accommodating. Parking fees are greatly overpriced. Price of parking should have been included in price of room. A/C did not operate properly during visit. Staff offered room change or box fan. While this was a nice gesture, QC (Quality Control) was not performed to insure all functions and features of the room were properly operating prior to the arrival of guests. In the future, this function and quality check should be performed before the checkin of guests.
The staff were very kind. the room very clean.
Tanya, Jeff and Jonathan we friendly, remembered my name and were of great help! Everyone was friendly and very attentive. I spoke to my guess and they were all repeat customers. That says a lot!! Excellent!!! No Pool
Really nice hotel. Would visit a again. Parking is expensive but probably the norm for downtown.
We liked the lounge & the room. It was a great atmosphere. There should be drinks in the rooms.
The extra charges for internet and the mandatory valet parking was a bit much.
Good staff, valet was very prompt, rooms were comfortable and very clean. Would probably stay again if I had some kind of coupon but coupled with the valet charge, it was too expensive for me. I can't stand places that charge $200/night and don't give you free wi-fi in the room. Also, the $32/day valet (while we knew about it in advance) still stung... there was pretty much no other option around though.
Great quality especially for price. Walls are super thin
Having to pay 32 dollars a night for parking.
The value and location are great. It needs some room improvements and updates.
location across from the Fox our friends got super huge spacious rooms with suites and KITCHENS!!! We asked for an upgrade and had a small room way way down the hall and around the corner, what is up with that?? No one answers the phones - called room service, front desk, conceirge, and the operator---VERY ANNOYING THAT NO ONE WOULD ANSWER REPEATED PHONE CALLS will not stay here again..,.,
1 Poor/few TV choices, expensive rooms for the size.
Rooms were very spacious. There were stains on the carpet not only in the hallway leading to the room, but all over the carpet in the room itself. And don't even think of trying to sleep in or just relax after 9. They are in the midst of renovations, and the constant jack hammering, or whatever tool they were using will reverberate into your room. You can cover the noise by turning the tv up loud, but that defeats the purpose of trying to relax.
The building and location are great. Appreciate the secure elevators. Restaurant and bar were good. Parking was expensive but worth it - fastest vallet ever. There is a full kitchen but no dishes, glasses, pots or pans. The shower curtain wasn't functional so water got all over the floor. Wish there has been extra blankets. I wanted to watch a movie on the couch but could not get comfortable. TV channels were limited.
We stayed there on a spur of the moment decision, for our anniversary. When we told the front desk it was our anniversary, they upgraded us to a renovated corner suite. It was absolutely beautiful! The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean. I can't say enough good things about our stay! I highly recommend it!!
I was not there a lot but the shower was clean and spacious. I had a great view of midtown Atlanta. I felt secure because of the valet parking and floor accessed only with your room key. The beds were clean and fluffy but supportive. When it was time to get my car the valet did not provide clear communication. There was a crowd because the hotel was having an event and it was raining. He took my card and never said anything else or what to expect.
The room was absolutely amazing! Not to mention that the hotel itself is gorgeous.
The staff was very accommodating and could not have been nicer.
close to theatre did not get room type requested. room poorly furnished, no refrigerator as promised, no king bed as promised. very disappointed
Lication, comfy bed Noisey room attendants
The staff was exceptional. Room was worn. For $200 a night, I expect furniture that is unscratched and a bathroom free of rusty hinges and moldy silicone.
Our room smelled pretty bad. Running the AC didn't help. And the bathroom is the smallest I've ever seen. Staff was great, but I'd never go back.
Location to the FOX theater Bathroom was very small
Rooms are clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Small bathroom had nice walk in shower Staff was not that friendly, the bar area was not willing to serve us at closing time, simply stating that "We're closed."
This hotel was everything we needed after a loud night out on the town. Inviting lobby, accommodating staff and clean modern rooms.
Easy to use wifi was provided. Location was great. Room was a little shoddy. Cracks in the wall, worn paint and the flooring had large gaps that didn't meet the wall.
Service, Location, rooms, and views. Good Breakfast and Dinners. room service. Bathrooms were small, but it is a historic hotel. They are limited to what they can do.
The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was very attractive and comfy. Close to Fox Theatre. Enjoyed our stay. We need a tub.
The hotel was perfect for our stay and very comfortable and clean.
The staff was very accomodating, for example I was allowed to review several rooms and to select my preference and they were patient with my late dparture. Parking can be a bit of a hasssle and is rather expensive.
Clean rooms A little warm
My daughter cried on the way out that she didn't want to go home - and she loved the hotel. Although a professional conference was going on, the staff were fantastic and really great with our kids.
I had a very good experience staying at Georgia Tech Hotel. I will recommend it ot any colleagues traveling to Georgia.
The staff was great, the location is the best, very close to everything and within walking distance to great places such as bars and places to eat, and be social. Who wants to pay for parking when you attend a hotel, no one, so I really don't like that we had to pay $15 a night for parking, but I get it. Also, I hate when hotels put holds on your debit cards, then you have to wait for the crazy fee and amounts to be refunded, it's like hello, why are you locking up my funds to begin with.
Clean and quiet hotel with nice and responsive staffs that made the stay quite comfortable. There was a problem with bathroom sink drain on the night of arrival, but the staffs fixed it while we were out on the following day. Room air was extremely dry, which must be fixed to the entire HVAC system in the building. While the room and all facilities are clean, some facilities are getting old and failing already - bath tub water control was loose, temperature control buttons weren't quite responsive, etc.
Great rate, nice location. Covered parking next to the hotel, only $15 night. Most hotels in the midtown/downtown area parking is $30 or more. Affordable restaurants and bars within walking distance. Starbucks and Barnes and Noble across the street. Atlanta's own Waffle House next door. Easy access to all ATL landmarks and tourist attractions. The room was clean and spacious enough for a couple. King bed was comfy, bathroom clean with nice soap. The hotel bar was not overpriced with a decent food and beverage selection. I am an ATL native and stayed one night to attend a party downtown, used Uber as transportation to the party. I absolutely recommend this hotel, especially at $126/ night including taxes. What a deal! No complaints
We were very impressed with how wonderful the staff were -they were always polite and willing to help .
The hotel is in a very good location. It's easily accessible by car and the MARTA (3 blocks).
Wonderful location. Fantastic bed and linens. Extremely clean. No
yes, I asked for a non-smoking room in which I received, but the room smelled and reaked of smoke. our clothes smelled like smoke the next day and our luggage smells like smoke too. This was very disappointing.
Clean comfortable rooms No refrigerator in the room
Staff is outstanding!!
pricing It took about 30 minutes for the valet to bring our car around even thought we called 10 minutes ahead as we were told to do.
The Hotel is Newly refreshed, and has a very nice and accommodating staff, Room was Clean and Well appointed. In a different location this would be a Four or Five Star hotel. Sorry but the negatives with noise The Hotel is on a main thoroughfare that is being used as a place for idiots to cruise blasting with speakers that rattled the windows and I was on the 12th floor. Atlanta must not have any sort of noise ordinances. It was Mf this and MF that and MF MF That was disturbing in and of its self,. But coupling the music with ambulances with wailing sirens at all hours (there is a major cardiac hospital across the street). I would not stay here or recommend this hotel because in two nights I never got a good nights sleep.
The workout room was clean and updated. Service was slow across the entire operation. Expensive - Three of us had breakfast one morning and it cost us $70 for breakfast buffet. We also used the valet to park our rental car and it was damaged in an accident when they were bringing our car around to us. Where they park your car is a block away and requires driving the vehicle in heavy traffic. It is built in to be slow with a potential for accidents. I would not stay here again.
Hotel location is very convenient, access to all areas near the hotel and or at walking distance. Hotel amenities, although under construction and/or renovation were acceptable ( I refer ti the pool). Fitness room and facilities is a plus . Not that I don't like but that was not always available, the concierge services in my case would have make a difference.
This hotel has a pretty good location for Georgia Tech visitors. The rate was much lower than others, probably due to the fact that it was under construction. No free coffee after 9 am -- who gets up before 9 am on a Sunday? At 9:04 it was long gone. It's like making it look like you are giving away something for free but not really doing it. The hotel will probably look nice in a few more months, but lots of drywall, and some jack hammering. Also, it's right next to Emory Hospital, so more than a few sirens. The sliding doors need to be replaced -- they leak like a sieve. Also, my Mac can never connect to the WiFi in the rooms. Down in the lobby it's not a problem, but something about the Access Point upstairs isn't happy with my laptop.
Online at checkin I followed the prompts and requested a room with a view. Wife and I stayed in town for a Fox Theater visit. The room we had was one of the latest round of renovations called live/work. It was average to small size acceptable of a downtown room. The room was extremely clean and and the furnishings were leisurely and new. There were about 6 USB plugs in the room which was convenient for gadgets. I was obliged with a bellman to my room with my bags. He did full service including turning on all the lights and opening the blinds to the skyline view. I think there have been major renovations in this hotel and the older reviews on this site do not at all reflect the hotel in found.
Building and location Rude staff cigarette butts and marijuana roach on patio tub didn't drain parking garage took forever to get out of due to faulty machine Parking cost $30 dollars.
Need to upgrade your AC system!
We enjoyed the location and room service. Valet was slow and inconvenient. Rooms were beat up and in poor condition.
Super helpful staff, fun check in, and Amberley at the restaurant/bar was wonderful. Excellent experience!
Room service was very quick to respond to in room dinning and bringing extra things. There was a 35 min wait in valet after I called for my car and there was no indication of how long we would have to wait.
Good location to the aquarium & other tourist attractions. We had no hot water for showers even after running the water thirty minutes. This happened three times.
Horrible location, next to shelter with mentally unstable thugs. There is a fight or disturbance all night long. You can't leave your room or you might get mugged. The room has mold and cockroaches all over. The place probably has bed bugs as well. The bed sheets were disgusting.
The first thing I do when I get to any hotel is turn on the shower. What I thought was dirt in the tub happened to be a bunch or baby roaches that scattered when I turn on the shower head. I was in this room less then ten minutes and I threw my whole purse away for fear of taking roaches home
A bad experience. Dozens of homeless people in the front
This was a surprise good hotel for the value. Staff very professional. I was told that I would have free WiFi. That did not happen I had it for 2 days of my 7 day stay. No one every clean room nor change towels. You are close to a homelesa shelter and they bother you for money every time you come out.I wish I could have gotten more work done if WiFi had work. The TV in my room would not turn down or up. Remote stop working
The staff were nice Nasty room. Bed sheets aren't clean. Roaches. Rust inside microwave. Freezer frozen over. Toilet backs up with only water in it. 80+ homeless people in the street near the hotel every night. Left one afternoon to go out for the night when we get back the bathroom is flooded. Tell the security guard, he calls the manager he tells us he has no more rooms to put us up in so we have to wait until morning. We just left. We were not offered any compensation
The first few nights were okay. I like the fact that there's a laundry room. Roach infestation even know they supposedly have this place sprayed...
Really this was the worst hotel I've ever been to. For context I wasn't bothered by many homeless folks in the area—a social catastrophe and not good for walking home at night, sure, but not a deal breaker for me in itself. But the hotel room was dirty, smelly, noisy, just really bad. I'll let you read the other reviews for some of the details, but they fit my experience. I ended up staying somewhere else for my last couple of days because I wasn't sleeping and my chest felt odd (from the mildew smell?). Don't stay here, it's really not worth it, even at this price.
Zero. Cancelled when I saw the place. Drug deals and prostitutes
The honest security guard at the gate. It has a small kitchen and AC unit. The moment we came down the street it was covered in garbage. The gate was guarded by a semi-armed guard who informed us that the area was somewhat dangerous due to being located to a shelter and an outbound rehab center, and therefor security and ID checks were needed. I paid 60 for the room and almost died when I saw the advertisement for $30 rooms near the Lakewood Amphitheater. The smell of the room was was stale and smelt of old smoke. The room was still dirty and appeared that only the bed was made to have the appearance of a clean room. There was makeup on the pillowcase and fake eyelashes attached to the mirror by the bed. In the bathroom the light was blown out, but we used the light from the kitchen. There was no towels in the bathroom, but instead there was a small heap of dirty ones in the closet. When I tried to take a shower I immediately left after seeing a smear of brown water on the wall by the shower. I don't know what it was and I don't want to know. The bed didn't have a fitted sheet. Instead there was a sheet of plastic with one of those usual scratchy covers. I am serious, it was a sheet of plastic over a mattress. The room hadn't been vacuumed or cleaned beside the bed being seemingly made. There were various dents on the walls that seemed to be cracking the foundation. Once we managed to fall asleep a man began yelling outside our door. I usually don't panic, but this made me hide behind my husband scared. It appeared the security was more relaxed at night. I submitted this hotel as ADULTS only because I am honestly concerned about a family staying here for the night. This is not safe for children at all. Please if your find yourself here be careful. I attempted to bring up the cleanliness of the room to the front desk, but the young woman had a phone call and seemed not too interested. I have been to hotels that weren't perfect, but I have never been afraid like I was at this one.
Besides the other reviews of being across the street from a rehab and shelter and surrounded by homeless people. This is a bad side of Atlanta. When arriving we got our key to our room and when we opened the door another group of teens where on the bed smoking pot. We came back to the front desk and they apologized and gave us another room on the first floor. Our new room smelled and we were scared to even sleep in the bed due to the screaming across the street and the loud banging happening in the parking lot. The fake guard did not give us any security and was by far the WORST hotel no matter the price we have ever stayed. Please avoid at all cost. I would rather tent it in the park than stay here again.
We didn't even get out of the car, took one look at the outside and drove off, dozens of homeless hanging around the entrance, did not feel safe at all. From other reviews (which I would urge you to read) it seems we did the right thing, it is a halfway house not a hotel and should not be being advertised on this site.
Cheap very cheap Everything! No towels, mold, smelled to high hell, dirty, horrible stuff, homeless everywhere can't walk the streets, drug dealers hanging out on every floor smoking pot, and the tv was tiny and had volume lock so tou cant turn it up a decent level. And no HBO
