Beds were comfy
Never seen slots so tight Elevators were horrific (waited 20 minutes one time!) Not worth the $212 for a feb night
Overall cleanliness was good. Our room (chairman tower) was modern, quiet, clean and well appointed. Restaurants were great.
Shower was tepid at 10 a.m. for me (but hot by 10:30 for my wife's shower). Casino needs a better smoke eradication system, as you will reek of smoke if you spend any amount of time there. Almost zero cell service inside the casino.
It would've been nice to have an option to check out at 2 pm instead of 1.
Had no comforters on the beds...and bed sheets smelled like pee, not sure when they were last washed...We thought we were getting a renovated room based on the pictures, but we received an old room with very outdated fixtures and facilities.
I will never book a room here again. Me and my boyfriend got sick on the day of our reservation so I tried to reschedule. They gave me no compassion and told me I couldn't reschedule.
The view from the room and having the boardwalk attached.
Cost of the restaurants in the casino and it felt empty.
I woke up in the middle of the night due to bed bugs feeding on me.
view on 34th floor was good. Beds were comfortable. Mable bathroom was nice.
carpet stained with red and cranberry juice was still in fridge. peeling wallpaper under sink. WiFi was $12.95 on over priced room. carpet was over cleaned and shabby looking. for $170 discount price there should have been a little updated.
Zero hospitality and worst service
Room was clean.
Ice machine was not working. Faucet in bathroom was leaking.
nice room, clean.
Price was ok
Saw a few bugs. No garbage bags in trash cans. feels musty/old.
The location was fantastic, slightly down from the other casinos which was nice and a little quieter. We stayed in the Taj Tower which was okay, nothing special. Our maid service was very lazy and left the duvet on a heap on the floor every day and left our dirty sheets on the floor one day. The casino was nice, we aren't huge gamblers but did come back with double our money and then some. Overall a good experience and worth the money we paid, but definitely with no extras.
Bellman that helped us bring our luggage down was extremely rude and kept complaining how heavy our luggage was (one suitcase for two people) and how we clearly weren't thinking about his back. Disappointed the buffet was closed indefinitely. Other restaurants were very pricy.
Everything was nice
Not perfectly clean sheets
The room smelt terrible and the wall was disgusting in the elevators and rooms
The location is awesome! I liked the convenience of the shops and boardwalk and restaurants.
The rooms were nice however the bathroom shower could either use replacing of the shower towels or cleaned better. I stayed in the Chairman Towers and thought the bathrooms could have been cleaner.
The beach and closeness of every attraction.
The hike to my room for the 80 th floor.
Josephine at the front desk was such a charm and got us exactly what we were looking for. We upgraded for a fee well worth it. We stayed on the 93rd floor continental suite ocean view ! The valet staff at registration where nice guys! The casino staff was very helpful. All in all great experience
wifi $12.99 charge for each device ;( Taj original tower and main casino bldg need total face job
far from a 4 star service... outdated rooms, furniture, elevators, no amenities, no minibar, no tooth brush... sad reflection of AC's downfall
- Phone in our room didn't work. - No soap or shampoo in bathroom - Specifically requested connected rooms (booked 2 rooms with friends) and they could not make it work. - Keycards would use once then they would not work. Went through about 12 on the weekend. Extremely frustrating getting to your room at the end of a long day and having to go back down to the lobby and make new cards to get into your room.
The room itself was spacious and clean..no complaints there.. Also I did get an ocean view as promised. Restaurants were clean, food good. Cleaning staff are pleasant as was security .
No WiFi at all. Staff seemed to be brusque (there was a big demonstration while I was there as the staff say they are losing their health benefits) There was no info in the room to say there is a pool, spa, shops, restaurants etc. You have to find out what there is and where everything is yourself.. No plan of he hotel in the room. When you ask where the restaurants (for example) you are told '2nd floor' without any instructions how to get there. It is a large hotel, much time is wasted in the smoky casino just finding your way around.. I met a few friendly staff, especially in the shops and restaurants but by and large, many of the staff seemed annoyed to be there..
I liked the view
The elevators you had to wait so long once u pressed the button which made no sense when there were so many. The bed was uncomfortable. We asked for extra towels blanket and they got snippy with me on phone. Customer service was rude
The hotel has everything , good location , at beach waterfront.
Room and lobby smell bad.
Location and price
Awful customer service, unclean rooms, bad smell all over the hotel
They have great comps and rewards program. Nice rooms, comfy beds, fast elevators, right on the boardwalk and parking was free for all of April.
The pool closes at 6 pm and is only open from 10a-6p so for those looking to get out then relax in the evening these hours are bad. Not much for kids to do in the hotel, actually nothing.
Good Italian restaurant
This place is an outdated dump. Stay away.
The personnel was very nice
The room smells little bit but everything was good later personnel fix the problem
Great casinos, restaurants, outlets and a walk away from the beach and outlet stores.
The staff were incredibly friendly from the jump - hotel staff were very accommodating, showed their personality to us, joked with us, and made great suggestions to places. Each staff member we encountered was friendly and made the experience enjoyable. The Taj is a great location to get on the boardwalk quickly and has a decent waterfront view and a view of the Steel Pier. Accessibility to the surround shops is great as well, especially to restaurants like the Hard Rock and the Landshark. For $58/night, the Taj is just a good place to stay for cheap, but don't expect much from your stay. You will have to make Atlantic City worth your while from outside entertainment.
The amenities were terrible - WiFi is $12.95/night, the sheets in the rooms were dirty and of poor quality (felt like hospital bedsheets). The beds and pillows were soft and very comfortable however. Everything closes or opens at the most inconvenient times - their arcade (for non-gamblers) was closed even though it was supposed to be open, and accessibility to all the shops isn't as great as Caesar's or Bally's or Harry's. The Taj is only convenient if you're going to the Landshark Grill or the Steel Pier, for us since the Pier was closed we still had to walk quite a bit to get to the good parts of the Boardwalk. Stay in Caesar's if you prefer to have more accessibility to local shops. The pool hours were terribly, 10:00AM - 6:00PM is not accommodating at all. No lifeguard on duty, and the sauna/jacuzzi are separate amenities that are upwards of an additional $20.00 fee (for each night or your entire stay, we don't know.)
The room very clean and comfortable. The shower was great! It was nice that the parking was free for the month of March.
The staff at check in were on the rude side and gave us the cold shoulder when they saw we booked through Kayak as they put it "a 3rd party". I thought the restaurants were over priced, but the food was pretty good. Service was also good. The overall look of the Taj Mahal looked a little tired and could us a facelift.
The hotel itself was beautiful and had great places to eat and have a great time. We all had a great weekend and even though we had many places planned to visit we never left the hotel/casino because we were having so much fun.
There were multiple issues with our room keys and the front desk manager was extremely rude when we had to go down to get new keys. The first time we had an issue was when we were trying to go out for the night and took over an hour to get fixed which caused us to miss dinner reservations. Upon going back upstairs after the hour one of the rooms was still not working and when we called back down she was even more rude and sent security up because apparently calling the front desk about not being able to access multiple rooms you spent $300 for per night each for isn't something you should be upset about. Then again at 3 am when we were going to bed one of the rooms didn't work again which again took over an hour to fix. It was ridiculous and you could tell that since we weren't high rollers they could not care less about our issue. It should have been a simple fix and instead put a damper on one of the 2 nights we were there.
The restaurants were great! The buffet was expensive, but it was worth the money.
Old shrimp. ..everything was bad.
The hotel room itself was clean and adequate. Lovely ocean view.
I felt like We were in the Ghetto of Atlantic City. The staff was upset that they were apparently closing in a week. Jackpots were void on slot machines, just offered draft beer. Things have changed drastically since I was there 4 years. I bragged about staying at the Taj Mahal. I was very surprised when we got there. I was also quoted $5 for parking and was charged $10.
When we got to our room the red cover they throw on the top was stained with some white stuff on it. It was gross. We switched rooms & upgraded. But when we upgraded the room was a lot smaller. We made the best of it though.
