That it was not in a busy town. The actual building was very interesting. The bed was very comfortable. Nothing else!!!! The food was also 11 century!! Very poor. It was not acceptable to see a dog running around in the kitchen and when approached, staff member became irritated. The beakfast for 12 euros was very basic, coffee and a croissant. Bedrooms very basic,no mirror in bathroom! There was wedding that nite and therefore the people in the dining room had to listen to that din all evening. Very poor value for a superior double room.
A fascinating building, full of historical features. The dinner was excellent dinner. The location in a quiet French village is also perfect for a stopover travelling south (or north). The rooms could be made more comfortable without altering the medieval character, and the plumbing didn't function absolutely perfectly.
Magnificent dining room. Baronial. Tapestries on walls. Log fire. Like living in a medieval castle. No door on wc in bedroom. Bedroom a bit dark and cold.
Like staying in a medieval castle but with modern facilities. The dining room was especially attractive and dinner very good. The continental breakfast was overpriced; we had enjoyed much the same at a smart modern hotel for half the price. Not suitable for anyone who has difficulty with steps, or with young children in view of the antiques everywhere. Also going from one part to the other necessitated going outside which could be a drawback during inclement weather. An ability to speak some French would be a great advantage.
Hartelijke ontvangst. Uitstekende overnachtings locatie; rustige plek. Zeer goede keuken; gezellige dinerruimte in middeleeuws decor. Uitstekende bedden. De auberge is in renovatie, die op tal van punten nog moet worden afgerond. Desondanks is het er plezierig toeven.
Situated in the old town. Private parking. Restaurant. Room a bid small.
Located in quiet square off main street, the hotel was characterful and well maintained. The staff were welcoming and freindly. Excellent value for money.
The staff were friendly, the room was spacious and the food was good.
They had internet Rooms needed refurbishing even at the price of 50 euros a night.
it was fine and is being redecorated and improved
We had a refurbished room, which was attractively decorated with reasonably modern toilet facilities, for France. The dining & sitting rooms were similarly attractively furnished and equipped. The breakfast at 6€ was good value.
central location, friendly, having a family room and staying there again next year. Once this hotel has been refurbished it will be lovely
It was very handy for anyone driving from Calais to further down in France or Italy. But it wasn't somewhere I'd stay under other circumstances. We did choose a cheaper non re-furbished room, so we weren't expecting glamour, but we've had nicer rooms on the Motorway. Restaurant was a bit over priced for what it was. However full marks for convenience for Motorway.
Secure Parking for our motorcycles, Good choice of breakfast menu, Clean room with well equipped bath room. A parking charge for our motercycles even when we where asked and did use a corner of the car park which was not a designated parking place, (a little mean I think)
The centalized location and good breakfast Maybe for the future it would be good to have air conditioning
Good food, friendly service
The quirkyness of the staff it was like having a meal with a very large family Very good the bed were hard and dated not designed for the portly tybe of man, and no elecric sockets
A very basic small room not up to the standard of others we have used in the same price range
Convenient for Langres, easy to find, friendly. Restaurant good service & food. Rather noisy, sound insulation in room poor.
Basic clean rooms, very good restaurant
Evening Menu - Good choice and good quality of food and friendly service Lack of space in room
Friendly, good value for money, good restaurant facilities, ample parking and in a good location for an overnight stay during our drive through France. Nicely located just outside the city walls of Langres.
None Dirty, run down, noisy, cramped.
Easy to find, prominant location. Interesting town and street market in the old walled part of town. Breakfast was very good.
Hearty welcome from friendly,out-going proprietor; French atmosphere; country location on a quiet road. Ideal one-night stop-over for those travelling from Calais to Switzerland.
The staff were very polite and helpful even with a little language barrier. Only an overnight stay on the way to Italy but well worth the money.
Convenient to the motorway A31 Lyon-Luxembourg (route du soleil) n/a
The room was clean and in a pleasant building. The surroudings were very nice. Very little noise. We waited over an hour to register and were told where to go by a builder. We did not register but were given a key.THere was nowhere to boil a kettle.
The room was fine and although near a very busy road it was very well insulated and we did not hear anything, beds okay, bathroom very tiny.but clean and confortable Very very disapointed in the dinner in the restaurant food was luke warm and not of a very good standard to other restaurants in France and it was not cheap at 22 Euro's per menu. Breakfast was fine nice bread, and plenty to eat.
Comfortable. Ideal for overnight stay, hotelier very friendly and helpful. Hotel family friendly. Pizzas delicious.
great motel, Phillippe was a lovely host and made us feel very welcome, great pizzas!
cleanish, functional, no fuss. a bit squashed but that reflected in the price
Good situation for UK travellers en route to Italy or Switzerland. Easy access and good parking. Would have liked a bath rather than a shower
Friendly staff and helpful service. Great location for an overnight stop on the journey through France. Quiet countryside but convenient to motorway junctions. Bedrooms are a bit basic and small
The restaurant is very good and the dining room charming. Car parking convenient and reasonably priced. The reception area and staircase shabby.
The location and the quality of the breakfast. The bed was poor - just bearable for one overnight stay.
Private Parking and good position Food too salty
it was real french, nice and friendly
I have stayed here several times over six years because of the town's location en route from UK to Italy, and the town is attractive. I feel this place has changed hands and changed for the worse. The staff, both front of house and restaurant, were not welcoming, and the quality of the restaurant has become disappointing. The whole place, especially the entrance and public areas, needs a large face-lift; nothing has been done in the six years I know it and it's become seedy. The room was OK.
Nice room newly decorated Having to wait for other customers before we could get our car out of the garage although they'd asked what time we wanted to leave very small parking area with cars parked in front of each other
Location in centre of historic town and French ambience. Very good parking facility and reasonable restaurant. Nothing
Good food Payment for parking. Very tiny toilet.
Calm and sraight forward sevice The menus displayed in the windows were almost poor quality enough to dissuade me from dining. However the actual service and food quality were perfectly good!
Nice room, nice location, nothing wrong, poor WiFi.
Central location in the heart of Langres some amenities such as hot water was a but tempremental.
Easy to find, room pleasant and food good. Lovely little town to wander around after dinner. Not possible to check in until after 4pm. We and several other guests had to wander about for a while before we could check in.
The hotel was very clean and friendly, food was good and location wonderful
excellent food room was a bit too cold
The waiter at the hotel was very friendly even though he did not speak much English and we spoke even less French.
enjoyed walking around the village. Useful as an overnight stop enroute to Calais.
Location, location, location
I used it as stopover on route from south of France to England and is only 10 minutes drive from motorway but in a lovely village surrounded by forest where I was able to walk my dog. Staff were friendly and restaurant good food and relaxing. Room spacious and comfortable.
The staff, the quisine, the local environment no
ideal country location to break a motor way journey.Excellent food.
Central location in town, quiet, restful. Polite, helpful staff. Good bed and linen Food in restaurant was a little under par - we think that as it was a Monday, that the usual chef was off duty.
We had booked in this hotel, but send to Hotel L Europe in the center of Langres. Telefonecall at my home adresin holland on the evening before departure. There was parking and for one evening it was nice to be in the center of this old town
we just stayed one night on our way home. Good value for money, good breakfast. very noisy doors
Nothing You cant check in until 17.00 even though there was staff in the hotel they would not even let us inside, we arrived on motorcycles having ridden 400km that day and were left to stand ouside in swealtering heat until my wife contacted booking.com to complain. The hotel seemed to be for contractors not holiday makers and was therefore extremely overpriced.
Convenient location, restaurant was good and a very good breakfast.
I was charged extra for deessert even though the menu p[rice was for a 4 course meal that included dessert. At chech out when I paid the receptionist lied and said quite abruptly that the fixed price meal did not include dessert.
Good car park. Good sized room. 1. When we arrived at 17:45 the hotel was shut and there was a notice on the door explaining that it would re-open at 18:30 2. Althought the hotel advertises that it has a restaurant in fact it does not. 3. The hotle is out of town. 4. Carpets are dirty and unkempt.
Relaxed, quietness The food in the restaurant was not so good.
Good food Being charged for car parking
Great service, large room, great location walking distance to the old town. Large car park.
