We got a GREAT price on this hotel. The hotel reception personnel were fairly friendly. When we got to our room the A/C unit was making a loud noise, so we called to see if someone could fix it. I knew I wouldn't get any sleep with it running. The staff quickly moved us across the hall where the A/C was fine. The hotel is a very tired and shabby. It was ok, but I don't think I would recommend it. Breakfast is coffee/muffins only. Go across the street to the little breakfast place-the food is good.
The hotel and rooms were extremely clean (and that's comin from a germaphob). Only ripe...it was the smallest room ever...but it did have a fride and dishwasher.
The big guy who works the front desk took three tries to get us a room that was clean, and also unoccupied. Things were fine once we got inside though. The elevator smells like a dog peed in it. But enjoy your room, it's really not bad!
Great hotel for the value! Prime location for shopping as well as the city.
I have stayed at this hotel many times during the past 2 years; I am pleased to report that every time I have stayed, the staff has always gone above and beyond to meet my needs. Not only is the value spectacular, but the location is nearby the city of Detroit, as well as prime location for days of shopping at the Great Lakes Outlet Mall. If I'm in the area, I always stay the Extended Stay - and recommend the value to family and friends!
The Extended Stay Deluxe Auburn Hills is a nice hotel for the value offered.
The desk clerk made me feel inferior since he stated that I had booked 'with one of those computer websites'. The room had a strong curry odor that permeated the walls, carpeting, etc, a empty beer bottle was on the floor, beside the bed, there were 3 long black hairs in the bathtub and the water pipes banged all night. In the chair, that pulled out into a bed, there was dark coloured debris. There was no shampoo conditioner, etc in the room-just 2 small bars of soap. We were under the impression that a light breakfast was provided but in the morning we were told that the continental breakfast is not available on weekends. In the morning the desk clerk confirmed that a long staying guest had been in the room who cooked with curry. (the room had a kitchenette).
Front desk person was kind but very sloppy in appearence. Front desk often up staffed. The room was decent but bathroom was not very clean. Toilet ran all the time. Free breakfast only during the week and only coffee with powder creamer for weekend mornings.
The standard room places the queen sized bed against the A/C unit. A couple using the bed means the person next to the A/C will freeze, and must then climb over the other person to get out of bed. I paid an upgrade fee to move to a two bedded room but its location next to an entrance made it smoke filled due to the smokers outside (not to mention the incident of the retching woman). We stayed here a few years ago and it was a much better experience. Time has not been kind to this facility.
This room was clean and was like a kitchenette. More then I expected for the night. The man checking me in was friendly and helpful. During the night there was someone banging on the outside door which my room was next to. He was yelling his key wouldn't work. Thank went on until the personel told him he was going to have to quiet down. After that, it was quiet.
I was stayed in this cheap terrible hotel on oct 2007 for 2 nights with my family. We were 4 ppl in the trip and booked 2 rooms. I was the one who booked the rooms through their website because I stayed with their other property before and they will email me a promotional code every week! This hotel is so dirty the carpet is not clean and the air conditioning is not working, due to the long trip in the day and the weather is not that hot so we were too tired to ask to change rooms. But the wall is so thin you can hear everything in the lounge and the next room, it was so noisy in the morning 7-10am from the ppl warking in the lounge we couldn't sleep until we wanted to. Remember we had booked for 2 nights we don't need to wake up so earily to check out! We tried to fly some eggs in the morning but the fan in the kitchen is FAKE, not a REAL fan with suck all the smoke outside of the room, the room was full of smoke that we had to stop cooking and opened all the windons and door. The kitchen was useless because you can't use it without a fan and there had NO REAL FAN. Finally we checked out on the 3rd morning when we looked at the bill they didn't give us a $* off for the promotional code we booked for, they keep saying that we didn't had the code when we were booked the rooms. Well! I received their email every week and book right through from that email with the promotional code but they refuse to give us. The staff are rude his name is X! Don't stay there!
