Villa Keris - Face Océan - Audierne - Building
9.8 Excellent (160 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Villa Keris is a large comfortable guest house which dates from the early 20th century. The story tells us that it is a dancer at the Moulin Rouge, his stage name Mona Keris who built it, because we had extolled the benefits of good sea air. Hence the name of the house! On board, you relax, and enjoy a warm welcome. Upon awakening, the breathtaking view of the Bay of Audierne invite you to enjoy the beach. Or to walk along the coastal footpath to the Pointe du Raz. The three bedrooms (marine, dune and ocean) have private bathrooms and sea views. We lend you our mountain bikes and you will benefit from our advice walks and restaurants, if you wish! Contact us via our website villakeris, or by phone at 0298702028 for more information;
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent quiet location and charming helpful owners helped to guests have a good experience, offering advice on places to visit, recommending restaurants etc. Very stylish spacious apartments, clean and perfectly decorated, Fantastic breakfast with homemade jams , cakes and fresh Breton crepes. Ocean view. Free and safe private parking. Reasonable price.
Cons: Everything was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house and location was very homely and extremely comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was amazing!!! Home made jams, crepes and apple tea cakes with freshly squeezed orange juice were on the menu for breakfast as well as lots of local knowledge about the area and the best places to see.
Cons: Absolutely nothing not to like about this place.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The facility is situated on the outskirts of a little town, Audierne, and it was easy to get there. The breakfast was parcimonious, under standard from the point of view of size and variety. Emmanuel and Chantal were very cordial and, particularly Emmanuel, provided us with a lot of very useful information on scenery and places to eat. We enjoyed very much the room Oceane balcony.
Cons: The breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a lovely stay. Our hosts were delightful and made us very welcome, and we enjoyed a delicious and convivial breakfast with other guests. Stunning views from the spacious and very comfortable room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect property
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is superbly situated overlooking the bay and beach. Though there is a road in front it is not busy and at night carries almost no traffic. Our room was very spacious, contained two comfortable armchairs, the bed was most comfortable, the fridge proved useful, and the bathroom was also well equipped and roomy. Parking in front of the house was provided. The host, Emmanuel, was very friendly, offered useful tips on the area all in good English. Breakfast was fine. The house is situated about a 20 minute fairly level walk along the beachfront and river into the centre of Audierne with its many restaurants and shops. We plan to return next year.
Cons: Nothing, though the room we had was on the top floor up a steep staircase so anyone who is not fit might struggle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Definitely a romantic place just by the ocean - it was wonderful waking up and falling asleep to the sound of the ocean! Breakfast is very hearty and made with love by the hosts, who were very sociable and polite yet respectful of our privacy. Wonderful experience with a very cute tiny dog, too!

Pros: L'Auberge is a lovely and rustic place to stay, with beautiful fireplaces and antique furnishing. Jane, the host, is very welcoming and helpful to give tips on what to do and where to eat in and near Audierne. She is very friendly. Breakfast is fantastic and served in the bedroom.
Cons: The room could have a bit more light and curtains could be installed on the windows.

We cannot speak highly enough of our experience. This has been the most unique property we have stayed in since our arrival four weeks ago and it will always live in our memory.
Cons: We loved everything about this place.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Interesting building. Attractive decor. Very clean. From our room, there was no direct internal access to breakfast room/reception area.
Cons: Poor lighting in rooms. Our room faced the road which could be noisy in the summer. Curtains in the bedroom let in too much light from the street.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was fantastic and the fitout was very well done. The building had character and charm. The staff were very obliging and there is an onsite embroidery school which is well worth a look. Walking distance to a picturesque harbour and wonderful beaches, mini supermarket and waterfront cafes, banks and of course shopping there is very little to find in the negative for this accommodation option. Room size was generous and windows enormous. Bathroom also very generous and well equipped. Housekeeping very good and towels and linen clean and changed as required.
Cons: Fine details around cleanliness I'm afraid. Bathroom mirror had not been cleaned, shower glass was spotty and the common area lobby was dusty. Cups not cleared from the coffee area for three days and the supplies had not been topped up in the tea and coffee area. A mini fridge in the lounge for some fresh milk or some UHT options would be great for those of us trying to find a cup of tea in a strange land!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about the hotel and the two wonderful ladies who run it. Veronique assisted me brilliantly in parking my car safely and securely on my arrival and Melanie looked after me beautifully the next morning during my excellent breakfast. The whole atmosphere of le Quincaillerie was utterly charming and my only regret was that I was only staying for one night!
Cons: Absolutely nothing not to like - I loved everything about it.

Cons: only that with only one member of staff at breakfast, it was difficult for her to top up food, provide more dishes and plates, and clear tables. She worked very hard to try and keep up! The bedroom was a bit cramped, but the hall and bathroom were very spacious. Great shower.

Pros: A lovely stylish old stone house in the centre of a nice town near beautiful coastline. We had a really good sleep - cool place with comfortable beds.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff was friendly and accommodating The hotel location was great! Right on the beach! Also they have a great « living area » for guest to read, play pool etc and look out at the beach. I kept saying this hotel seems more like 4 stars with the honey feeling of a bed & breakfast In our 4 weeks of traveling and staying at various 3 and 4 star hotels, this particular restaurant was our favorite. The dinner was spectacular! If ever in the area I would definitely book at this hotel again!!
Cons: The rooms could have been slightly larger but because we wanted no tub shower we had a smaller room But the living area downstairs made up for it

Cons: You can only book in and check out at the times stated. The office is not open at other times. When we got there they couldn't find our booking but I think that was just because their paperwork was a little mixed up.
