The location is the prime asset, on the banks of the Loiret, yet only 5 miles from Orleans centre
Old traditional feel about hotel and furnishings - antique but quaint. No
ambiance,delightful staff.relaxing luxurious surroundings,absolutely enjoyable experience.
Everything about Le Moulin du Roc was wonderful. The staff, the lovely property, the food, etc. We stopped in between a night further south in the Perigord region and the Loire Valley. I would have happily stayed another night or two to relax!
An excellent little hotel with a very relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, good food in the heart of the countryside. Close with a car to many beautiful places (Brantome!) It was perfect.
opportunity to have a rest the price is abit higher than it must be
Very friendly staff Room felt a little damp.
Staff were very welcoming and helpful and the food was very good. Surprised that the grounds looked unloved
Both Pierre and Nathalie were very friendly, and made us feel most welcome. Pierre was very helpful when we had a complaint about our car hire, and he insisted on ringing the firm to sort the problem out. He also offered us good advice on all sorts of things. Both he and Nathalie were very patient with our limited French! Our twin room was rather on the small side.
peace and quite/ food
Motel offered meal in the evening which is essential as few restaurants around. Nice countryside aspect. Main entrance door to room is glass and only covered by lace curtain; felt exposed!
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the evening meal we had was very nice, we were made to feel very welcome.
This family run hotel was exceptional. Father and daughter were extremely friendly and helpful in all regards. Have the courage to try the chef's special cuisine. The food was second to none. Speaking basic schoolboy French was no hindrance to the exceptional service myself and my partner from London received. We were made to feel most welcome.
Room was clean In need of redecorating and modernising
The hotel was clean and welcoming. We arrived late in the evening and booked meal which was really enjoyable. The presentation of each course was excellent and we had the best desert ever. The room was a little tired, but the bed was comfortable and had nice views over the garden. This was the second time we had stayed at the hotel.
evening meal was very good
Good restaurant in the evening, very good food. But wouldn't stay again in this Hotel, there was a poison for cockroach in the room. I asked for ham/jambon in the morning at the breakfast, they didn't gave it to me. So wouldn't recommend the breakfast.
weather and pool Did not be made to feel welcome, often staff were overheard talking about "the 2 english ladies". Poor communication. Children (bike, skateboard & wheely trainers) and dog hazardous at times.
very tranquil site, lovely view from terrace, comfortable beds, very good food tho concentrated on foie gras and duck typical of the region. Would like more vegetarian options. Should be noted as dog friendly in case anyone averse.
Superb grounds and excellent cuisine
Owners very friendly and helpful, Very nice loaction in pretty countryside. dinner was pleasant without reaching the level of our previous meals in the Dordogne. Decor in the restaurant could do with an update but may be that I am just not happy seeing lots of stuffed animals. Dinner although pleasant was quite expensive.
We liked the location and charm of the hotel in a very peaceful setting.we liked the owner and his wife and the staff were very kind.the resturant was very old world french but the menu perhaps after the same for three days should be more varied the bedrooms were very tired as was the bathrooms
I liked the area it was set in and the relaxed area. The staff were very helpful, courteous and accommodating and the food was excellent. The bed was far to soft and uncomfortable - it was like sleeping on a bouncy castle!! - but everything else about the room and the hotel was very good.
