The building is nice but the room was cramped, there was no view from our window, the carpet was rather dirty... But the bed was soft. Oh and the location is in a good spot but all in all I won't be going back.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Love the green initative and healthy influences of the Westin - makes traveling easy! Also, my family joined me the last night, and the crib the Westin provided is amazing - called a heavenly crib. The hotel feels a bit dated - the rooms could use a bit of an update. Perhaps it's the lighting or the decor, but it feels a bit older. Parking was an issue a few of the days during the day due to a women's conference being held at the hotel too.
The location was great, it was pretty clean, and also the staff was very helpful. The room for it's price was over exaggerated. The Hilton was cheaper and much better overall.
Beautiful Decor. Very Clean. Super friendly staff! The view from my room :(
Nice staff. Good location next to AT&T center. Nice breakfast and gym. Pillows need help. Sink was smelly and needed to be cleaned out. Some long black hairs very obviously around.
Close to downtown. Friendly and helpful staff. Luxurious linens.
Laid back, helpful and comfortable, situated close enough to the city.
A very comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. Small, non-chain place with great charm. Enjoyed sitting on veranda with a glass of wine. Wish I could've stayed longer.
Gorgeous architecture -- internal and external. Beautiful huge rooms for a very affordable rate. This is a great hotel for a romantic getaway in the friendly and fun city of Austin.
Staff was terrific. The room was elegant and detailed with elegance and comfort. Extremely impressed with the ambiance, cleanliness and European delight found so close to downtown Austin. Highly recommend this hotel... a special treat was the bed turn down without special request.
This was a very nice boutique hotel...nice staff, nice restaurant. Close to the unioversity and close to downtown. The room was a little small (petite queen) and our room location was next to the front desk.
Wonderful room, staff, and overall feel.
Restaurant staff especially accommodating - stayed late to serve me.
The equipment of the hotel is on very good level comparable to other high class hotels.
Location, cookies. Parking area too small and damaged the nose of my car when pulling in and out of the lot. Breakfast was exceptionally slow to come (45 minutes) and of poor quality when it did arrive (cold and disgusting). Still liked the hotel overall but would eat elsewhere.
Everyone was very polite and helpful
The staff was so friendly, helpful, and the accommodations were fantastic
Free happy hour and appearance of common area. The room's plumbing and mediocre cleanliness.
I was impressed with the gentleman Marrow, he was very polite, and enjoys his job. He was dispatched to take us downtown to 6th street. I would definitely give him 5 stars. The staff was friendly. Very outgoing. Great experience. The literature on the hotel was misleading. We were there on Valentine's day, and the information we read was that breakfast would be served until 10:30, since it was presidents day, but it was closed down at 9 am. A little hungry the next morning.
The breakfast was great. Amount of space in the rooms were also great. Furniture was a bit dated though. The staff was nice, but not good on security. Friends that arrived late were able to get a room key without any confirmation from directly to the staff. That was a bit concerning.
Great place for my child's 21st birthday party! Temperature of room...needed ability to make room cooler and less stuffy.
It wasn't far from the airport. Where do I begin.... 1. It was very old no updates 2. The shower was dirty 3. The shower needed to be resurfaced 4. The refrigerator barely kept food cold, food went bad 5. The palm trees were so dusty they are dying :-( 6. I asked for the GM he never got back to me. Terrible hotel, just terrible
Get up for the breakfast, it's free and awesome. Get back for the reception for 2 hours in the evening and have a free cocktail. The couch pulls out for an extra bed. Room has a small table big enough to play a game of cards. Cab ride away from downtown. Nice location, easy to get to and from. Staff is friendly and cool.
That it was right off the freeway. The bathroom was falling apart, had holes in the doors, and the towel holders were hanging by just a few threads. The bed was miserable, the pillows were basically non existent and the mattress even had holes in the sides. Didn't realize that our booking was for a smoking room and boy did it stink. All of our clothes had to be washed. The AC unit shut off and on all through the night. Worst sleep ever!! This hotel should be no more than $40 a night!1!!
This place needs to be inspected by the health department because the room was fithy, everything you touch was sticky. Wr wanted a none smoking room but the room we were in smells like smoke. The AC was not working, they have a ceiling fan. I am.writing their corporate office.
NOTHING ABOUT THE STAY AT ALL NO HELP FROM THE FRONT DESK THERE SHOULD BE A SECURITY GUARD PATROLLING THE AREA, ROOMS HAD A BAD ODER PEOPLE PARTING TILL 4:30 IN THE MORNING PLAYING VERY LOUD MUSIC ALSO FIGHTING AND YELLING GOING ON DRUG USE GOING ON OUTSIDE I WILL NEVER PUT MY FAMILY THROUGH THAT AGIAN.
Hardwood floors were nice Nowhere near university or downtown, next to loud freeway, holes in bedding, no towels upon arrival, MOLD IN BATHROOM, breakfast food was gross, staff was unfriendly, elevator was broken/under repair, ice machine not working
I liked how we didn't have to wait that long to check in. Plus they also had elevators for your convenience. I didnt like how the breakfast hours were. The mini fridge wasn't keeping our food cold.
Room was clean, quiet, comfortable. Outside was dirty, too many people just hanging around outside does not feel safe.
Not much Not much
I enjoyed the stay over all. The staff was friendly. It was super easy to find the location. The room was some what clean. The smell immediately as I stepped out of the room. Only Two pillows For Two Queen Size beds. Towels were gross.
The beds were nice, the bathroom was spacious for two people. I really enjoyed fan in the bedroom, they were very accommodating and let us have extra keys when ours stopped working! Would stay again! the breakfast was disappointing.
had fridge clean inside the rooms but dirty outside and all around the building. Also somewhat of a rough crowd, people shouting and arguing loudly in the parking at fairly late hours.
Beds were very comfortable and rooms were quiet
It was close to downtown area Tiny roaches in restroom
It was inexpensive and the room was clean Essentially everything else other than the actual room
On very short notice, I managed to book a room for quite a reasonable price, all things considered. Personally, I think as long as you come to the place with the knowledge that it is very much a value hotel, you won't find much to complain about--if you're expecting a luxury suite or something, well, maybe you need to temper your expectations a little bit, because $50 won't get you a deluxe room anywhere. If, like me, you are in town as a prospective student touring the UT campus, I will say, the location maybe isn't ideal--but the price certainly is. To be perfectly honest, the only two complaints I had were: 1) Some bozo with an obnoxious security system in his car had parked right outside my window, and the thing kept chirping in 20 minute intervals (which wasn't the hotel's fault), and 2) The air conditioner in my room, though certainly functional, nevertheless was in clear need of a new filter (which was the hotel's fault). All the same, the price of the room made it fairly easy to overlook its shortcomings.
I was skeptical of staying here because the price seemed so low compared to other chain hotel but thank god I chose this one. The room was beautiful and clean. The location was not far from the city. My friend and I stayed here and we're expecting the worse but got an amazing deal. The breakfast wasn't very good but I was atleast able to have the Texas shape waffle and some fruit so atleast that was good.
Has everything you need in a value hotel plus a way better then average free breakfast , well managed, staff is very acomidable. If you're picky about a hotel being brand new and modern then you will not be satisfied.
When we drove up it did not look as nice as the pictures on the website. When we walked into the room is was smelly and musty. I saw a little roach in the bathroom at one point. If you just need somewhere to stay without luxury this is the spot.
Proximity to city Bathroom was filthy...
King rooms were spacious. Queen rooms were cramped.
I liked the location and price. Your average motel. The hallways smelled heavily of smoke. But the non-smoking room was fine and did not smell. The bed wasn't very comfortable, but i didn't expect anything fancy anyway.
Everything food was great, room was clean and perfect. Very much personal no interruptions or drama of any kind. Every person was too there self but yet polite. My only problem was the smell with such a great place and great service and amenities it smells like a motel. I recommend some oil burner air plug threw out the place. Maybe wipe the walls down with some Fabulous. It just needs a better scent. Other then that no problems. It was a great honeymoon.
Value. Cigarette smell in non smoking areas.
Close to the river Our room view was to the freeway instead of the river
The room was comfortable and clean and included everything you'd expect to have in a hotel room. The hotel was under renovations during my stay so the atmosphere of the hotel wasn't too nice, but that's understandable. The renovation plans look like they will be impressive once they are completed.
Staff was very rude and not very helpful throughout the entire trip. Starting from checkin to requesting a shuttle to asking for a razor everything seemed like such a chore. Everyone I encountered left a sour taste in my mouth
The pool was very nice The place is just filthy and rundown. The carpet look like it was 30 years old and everything in the room and in the hallway was just kind of disgusting. The whole third floor had a gross smell to it.
Great Location. That's about it. The facilities are really run down. Even the chromed towel rack in the bathroom was rusted. The shower delivered two temperatures, very hot and scalding. The hallway carpets were dirty. The saving grace for me is that I got in late and I left early so I did not have to spend much time in the hotel. Bottom line, this could be a nice facility if they had a major remodel. In the mean time I won't be using it again.,
This is a great stay/value for your money. My main concern staying at any hotel is cleanliness. A clean bed, clean bathroom, and good breakfast. Holiday Inn Towne Lake fit the bill. It's right off Lady Bird Lake and a 20 minute walk to 6th st. I would definitely recommend.
The bed was so comfy!!! I did ask for help or suggestions for me and my 11 year old to do in the evening and the driver (I hate I didn't get his name) really tried his hardest to help me out. It was hard since Austin is more of an adult atmosphere at night but he keep looking & always looked at location & price of a cab since I didn't have a car. He finally found a spot we could try out & he drove us there even though it was slightly out of their driving distance. He said he didnt want my daughter to be bored & wanted her to enjoy her stay. Very polite and helpful! There is construction going on but nothing bad and no noise.
Staff was great; friendly and very helpful. Someone else already mentioned the shower water temperature. It was hard to balance it out to a comfortable, bareable point. Way too hot. Other than that, room was pretty alright for the price.
- Great location. - Clean Room. - Comfortable bed. - Decent value. Hotel is currently undergoing a needed remodel. Some portions of the hotel looked great, others looked pretty run down.
The renovation of the whole room was on point and a very nice few by the river There's nothin not to like
Location- Did not front directly on the busy highway; therefore, much less road noise than you usually find. Beds & pillows are extremely comfortable. Nice, fresh fruit is available at breakfast. Did not have real cream or 1/2 & 1/2 available for the coffee-only the nasty fake stuff.
We always go to this hotel because it is a nice hotel, clean, good location, good price. The water pressure was not strong enough or it could have been the shower head.
Loved it ! Hotel staff was VERY friendly. The hotel was so clean , and exactly like the pic. 2 thumbs up.
Staff really nice, and was a really enjoyable stay, looking forward to stay there again.
Breakfast for the family was great, clean room, perfect size for a family of 4. Staff was polite and helpful Shower fixture warm and cold water are opposite typical showers. Tv wouldn't always work
They should fire Gabriel, terrible person and employee, I will never go back to this hotel because this terrible employee, is discousting. They should do a better selection.
The staff was professional and hospitable. Very nice stay. Only 5 minutes to downtown.
Staff was extremely friendly and the room was very nice and clean! Great location right off the highway, perfectly right in the middle of work and fun! The complimentary breakfast was mediocre. I didn't know you could mess up eggs, bacon and fruit, but all of the non cooked items were perfect! Also we were charged an extra $30 after our stay, currently not sure why. Only one elevator worked, it didn't bother us but I could see it becoming a hassle for others.
The room was very welcoming. Not enough staff to deal with the kids soccer teams in town. Supposedly not all of your front desk staff has been trained on how to make the cocktails or Starbucks coffee that you rave that is available.
The staff were nice and accommodating. This hotel's overall quality of construction appeared to be inferior to the typical Hyatt Place. When the door shut, the entire wall shook and the sink faucets were loose. The bed was very firm
Staff Noisy elevator
Overall great experience. Courteous staff, clean rooms, nice breakfast menu Can't think of anything
I loved everything about this hotel, from the valet to the hotel staff, great service all around.
Room was pretty much brand new. Staff was really nice. Location was great. It was a bit pricey, but that week all the hotels in Austin were priced high.
Painting our door when when came in and it was wet for 2 days.. Paint got on my shirt. Power went out for the night and the phones did not work for 3 days. Also the outlet didn't work near any mirrors
Front desk team were awesome. I truly believe they enjoy what they do and I would stay again because of the The room was not swept or vacuum the floor. There were food crumbs on the desktop. I never took my shoes off
Room was clean and actually much bigger than I was expecting. I also didn't expect to have a microwave or fridge in the room, and it had both. The pillows were kind of thin and flat. The internet was slow to the point of being unusable.
Perfect location and a good price. The hotel is not great, but it works for a one night stay. It had a smell and my security latch was broken. Wifi only worked sometimes. I was comfortable paying the price I did for the stay. Do not expect much. It is a basic room to sleep in for the night. There is no breakfast or coffee. There is nothing exciting about this hotel.
The rooms were very noisy. Throughout the day/night we heard constant slamming doors & loud conversations from house keeping. Also, the shower head was way to powerful. It hurt to take a showers! To end out trip my husband left his wedding band. We called the hotel as soon as our plane landed. We left numerous messages and never got a call back. Two days later I finally got a hold of a manger. By then the room was occupied by 2 different people (which I was informed) & of course they NEVER found my husband's ring! If we would of spoken to someone sooner maybe it would of been found.
The room was clean , the employees extremely nice and congenial. The maid vacuuming the room next door at 8 am on a Sunday morning.
I liked everything.... Except the check in time that was posted on the Internet was different from the actual time posed in the facility and when I arrived I was forced to wait over an hour to check in.
Location was great and close to town, staff was very friendly and attentive. A great experience that I would do again.
The only thing I likedid was the staff. They were friendly and professional. There were almost no amenities. I don't understand why it is called a red roof Inn "plus". There was no mini fridge, There was no breakfast, and there were dead bugs in all the light fixtures. I'm not angry, just disappointed. I've stayed at cheaper hotels with way better amenities.
Location Price Dirty bathroom Stinky Room Sticky Sheets
Overall it was clean, and the staff was good. It has a modern decor that appears to be from a recent face-lift. What I like about this property is that it has the basics covered. Where this property loses is in the details some graffiti some rust low water pressure etc.
The entire facility was nice. Lobby was nice. Felt like it was in a safe area. They offered room service and even delivered tooth paste that we forgot to bring. That was very hospitable. The drive to downtown was a little further than I hoped but still a good stay. My only complaint was that the hall smelled terribly. Luckily the room didn't.
Parking is 31 per night, then there is tax and tipping valet. Added about $90 to our 2 night stay.
the location and the pool the parking with the valet service is quite expensive
- Free breakfast - Complementary Happy hour - Complementary Snacks/brown bags
The staff and location were awesome! They double charged me for parking but fixed it immediately when I pointed it out.
Very comfortable beds, and the warm cookies at the front desk were a nice touch.
Central in austin, perfect for SXSW Nope
Excellent Austin downtown choice. Close to both University and downtown. Rooms are huge compared to European standards, which is a good thing when staying and working a longer time in same place. Highly recommended! Slightly annoying was that WLAN/internet connection was not complimentary, and actually a bit pricey.
Please write at least 15 words convenient location and priced reasonably, nice lobby bar staff and good tasting food. Check in staff. They could of been friendlier, to a Gold Hilton member. Never smiled and no greeting.
Rooms are extremely adequate for up to 6 people meetings. All rooms are well equipped with a kitchenette. Staff is very friendly. Prices are quite high, particularly those for breakfast.
Large, nice room with your standard room stuff. 24 hr room service. Thin walls. Parking fee. No fridge.
Front desk staff, engineering staff, location Room-to-room noise isolation, restaurant staff professionalism
Nice lobby and facilities. Checking in was pleasant. Extra for parking. No staff in the morning to answer questions about shuttle times. There was one guy working the front desk and nobody to answer the phone. Very frustrating morning. Also, rooms have carpet.
there was no internet / wifi, and the staff didn't seem to know the status of the situation, saying "as far as I know there's no internet, maybe it will be fixed tomorrow"
Loved the indoor bar! Also loved the late night service, but not the price for the quality of food. Very nice hotel, loved the scenery. If you're traveling, this is the place to stay as it is near the airport (obviously). Overall this was a nice place for a decent price! Price of the food..ordered a late night snack (turkey sandwich & chicken wrap)..food was almost frozen & not very tasty for $30+
The breakfast Customer service upon checking in, trian track right behind the hotel, the description says indoor pool and didnt have that, in the morning after breakfast the hotel smelled like dead fish, the laudry smelled like mildew, wish we never stayed there. My family and i travel alot and have stayed in many hotels and this location was by far the worst.
Very clean, great staff. "Executive Suite" shockingly roomy. Tons of outlets everywhere to charge all your things. The "train side" is extremely noisy with many very loud trains going by late into the night and early morning. If you are a light sleeper you will hear each one. Overall look is pretty dated. Breakfast was pretty basic and processed. Fitness room is just a couple machines, pool in not very private parking lot, no hot tub.
The hotel was clean. There are train tracks right behind the property. If your room is X18-X37, the East side of the building, you will hear them ALL night long. Some train conductors like to wail on the train horn as they pass by.
