nothig We booked the hotel specialy for grand prize of Namur (motocross world champion ship) , we are drivers. We could' t came frome the hotel in the morning (6 a.m) beacuse the door was close. we asked to open door we were refused, because this hotel is not night hotel. We have a good chance to loose the champinship start. We did not recieve any breakfast, because of we leave hotel early.
Comfortable room for overnight stay.
The internet is not exactly free, to use it you need to already have an account with Swisscom.
The lady owner is very kind and helpful. We had 3 dinners at the Cicero restaurant. We also had 7 breakfasts. Always very good. However, except for snails and beers, we could not get any local food (nearly everything is "imported" from the Flemish part of Belgium, from butter, to low-fat yogurt).
Closing time 23.00 is a little bit early
Friendly reception, good restaurant. Less than perfect shower. Sadly the chef was ill for some of my stay.
hotel closes at 23.00 no nightshift, bar was closed because of meeting.
Comfortable and quiet despite being on a regularly used road
Hotel comfortable, good location Having to walk outside to get to bar / dining room
bathroom clean, otherwise nothing The hotel was very shabby, the staff were rude, ignoring us. The chef was ill, so no dinner, no help to find alternative. The coffee machine did not work at breakfast and they charged the bar bill to the room, after paying on the night. We have a Best Great western near to us (Centurian, Midsomer Norton, Bath) and we expexted similar.
Very beautiful building and garden. Nice big rooms and very comfort beds. Nice bathroom. The breakfast is outstanding! Nothing.
Breakfast was excellent. Location good but as it has no restaurant you need to drive to eat. The Italian restaurant recommended by the hotel was good but expensive with extremely slow service. The bedroom we stayed in could do with modernisation.
nice rooms and friendly staff, nice breakfast
Although we only stayed one night we found it to be absolutely delightful.
Great breakfast - though price not included with room. We stayed with baby and accidentally forgot a soft toy. They kindly hand delivered it to Brussels! Very nice staff indeed.
We had breakfast in the room and it was excellent and fantastic value for money. The room was large and luxurious. The host was welcoming and very friendly. Very soft-spoken and unimposing. The switch between shower and bath taps was very stiff.
it is situated right opposite a beautifull golf course the old fashioned bathroom and a very dated tv-screen
The management were very good. Unobtrusive and helpful. The setting and style of the hotel is very good, reminicisient of a much more graceful age
Lovely villa in a beautiful riverfront location on the Meusse. We had a grand view room with a large balcony overlooking the river. We had brought wine and enjoyed it on the balcony. The villa has that "going back in time" feeling. The area is spectacular, beautiful scenery and lovely old towns and villages. The nearby town of Namur definitely worth visiting. We were warmly greeted and as we arrived very hungry, the owner immediately phoned and made a reservation for us at a little gourmet restaurant that we walked to, just a couple of blocks down the road. We did pay separately for the quite extensive breakfast the next morning, but we enjoyed it very much. It is served in a beautiful sunroom overlooking the garden to the river. The shower, (which is a handshower) was not working, but we just used the big bathtub instead, which was perfectly fine.
The dinner we had for 11 persons was excellent
It was comfortable, quiet and relaxing as a stopping iff point on the long journey from Italy. It was also excellent for an evening trip into the old town of Namur. As a disabled person, it was a long walk to the room.
The hotel has a nice feel, good for children, excelent location. Very price/ value. I booked the hotel because it has a swimming pool, we had 2 children with us. De pool water was simply ice cold. I complaint about it at the front desk and the manager but with no result , they said the water was always 28 ° I have a pool myself in LA but this temp. was way lower than 28. Everything else was nice, I go back to Dinant regulary but will be hasitating to believe the heathed pool story so I dont know if I will book this hotel.
Clean, comfortable rooms. Excetionally helpful staff.
Hotel comfortable. Spacious rooms. Location is quiet and by the river. Ideal for travel by car. Hotel 25 minutes away from city centre by bus. I was there on business so we were provided with transport every morning and evening. Last bus is at 9.22. If you miss this, You have to phone a taxi - walking from city to hotel is out of the question - too far away.
Close to the River with wonderful views yet close to town.Comfortable room. We would use again. We Thought that the Breakfast was overpriced for what was available.Next time we would opt out of the Breakfast.
Problems with Sauna
the indoor swimming pool not always very clean (especially the bed cover)
Dinner was ok. Internet access + breakfast too expensive.
Location convenient to town (one of only 2 hotels in Louvain la Neuve), adequate parking, comfortable beds, wireless internet available (not free) Breakfast at 12 euros per person is expensive, no mini-bar, very small room, poor ventilation (no window that opens), door onto balcony opens, but balcony not separated from other rooms so no security or privacy if door open.
Easy to find, easy to park. Good medium priced hotel
The location in partly forested country was very nice. The walk to and from the railway station was very pleasant. However I would have preferred that the walk was shorter as I had a sore leg at the time.
This hotel is very calm
It was serene and close to Brussels. It was a little expensive and the internet was a bit intermittent.
Stained/dirty carpet; broken toilet seat; shower quickly ran cold; breakfast 'hot' food stone cold. Very expensive for mediocre hotel.
Great place to for visiting the Herge Museum
I put down fair as for the value for money of this hotel for the only reason that I imagined it (and booked it for this reason) as a weekend price that included breakfast and not as an extra separate cost. Under other circumstances, I would probably consider it as being a good option as per the value for the money.
the surroundings, the silence, the facilities the room, huge price for telephone
Friendly staff,, clean rooms, value for money and central location
Air condition a little unefficient
simple, but clean and nice I got room for smokers, possibly, so it was not smell good
Location There is no Hot Spot in a room
Breakfast for Euro 10 is rather expemsive.
excellent rate and convenient location
Conviniently located. Got a big, comfortable room. A bit of inconvinience with the soap dispenser. The paid internet service stopped working the day i was to check-out! Good thing was the hotel guy did not charge me. Breakfast too expensive.
Clean and spacious, nice view of the citadel. The first room I was assigned was a smoking room, but I was quickly moved to a non-smoking room when I presented the problem to the front desk staff. No t happy that I had to pay for the internet which every other hotel I've stayed in in Europe has offered it free (5 in the last month).
easy to find using ibis map. Good secure parking. Just a short walk fromtown centre. breakfast very expensive so didn't bother.
Helpful, pleasant staff. Very good location.
The owner, cook, receptionist was very friendly, and always on hand to offer suggestions. Rate was good. Parking was a bit of a challenge; because although the hotel had parking available out back, it wasn't clear how to reach it. I parked in the public lot just over the street - which worked out fine.
Excellent location; excellent meals
Chateau itself Meal is good but rather expensive
Very nice old building which surprises with very modern interior and rooms. Rooms are large and very nicely fitted. Can't beat this hotel for value for money. Restaurant is superb. We had a great set dinner for only 30~40 Euros and quality was top! Nothing negative to report
Dinner in the Hotel restaurant was well prepared and presented with an eye to detail and quality of ingredients. Very good.
The location and the food The interior was not as traditional as we had imagined it would be
Nice location No way near a 4 star hotel, too expensive, restaurant portions not enough to feed a small kid.
The Chateau is absolutely beautiful. The rooms were spaceous, clean and comfortable. Very nice bathrooms and decor in the room.
Enjoyed Breakfast, the ambience was better in the morning then evening. Didn't like the renovation, too much of the history had been wiped out..
Best thing about it is also the worst. Lovely and secluded but also hard to get to and as Namur is innundated with taxis getting back in the evening was difficult. Also good value as we got a deal for 60 Euros for the night, probably not worth it at over 100.
The staff has been really helpful and available. We were a bit late for my breakfast but kindly agreed to serve it. (and the breakfast room is lovely!)I would definitely recommend it.
Great location, value and breakfast. The decor is abit different from the normal hotel.
Very kind staff, they make everithing possible to make guests comfortable. Rooms too small and poor lights
Nice staff No
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Manager Medi was very helpful and flexible with our requests for information...and we could speak English with him and his colleague Stairs, room for three is a little on the small side
The hotel is very nice and the staff very friendly. It is clean and you can rest perfectly. The day we went there the parking of the hotel was flooded and we could not use it. Luckily, there's an outside parking just in front of the hotel, which is for free from saturday afternoons to sunday. The breakfast is not very abundant, but sufficient. It consists on some bread and marmalade, chocoloate, croissants, coffee, milk, tea, orange juice... but no cold meats or cheese, sausages... etc. Anyway it is enough and costs 6€, not like most of hotels that costs 15€.
very friendly and helpfull manager
Incessant loud music, no dinner (no warning of this). otherwise empty but ok.
Beautiful setting; the grounds were lovely & guests are surrounded by nature. Hiking trails, meadows, farms, horse pastures and forest create a serene environment. Breakfast buffet was lavish. Hotel seemed a bit short staffed, but this was perhaps just bad timing. We arrived hungry & tired & had to wait both at the front desk for receptionist to appear, & again for someone to take our order for dinner. However, the tranquility & beauty of the surroundings put us in a better mood. We had a devil of a time trying to find the place, as it is completely off the beaten path. To make matters worse, there was construction going on which prevented us from getting there in the most efficient way. Our GPS was useless in the face of the detours imposed by the construction; furthermore, the address of the hotel was not even recognized by the GPS. It would be helpful for guests to have the name of the closest main street and specific directions on getting there. The hour or more of driving around that frustrated us & soured our mood prior to check-in. Gratefully, the woman at the desk, who also doubled as our waitress, was most pleasant & the food was good, so our spirits were restored.
I liked the design, the free internet service and the low cost. No restaurant for dinner at the hotel.
the setting was excellent there was no Restaurant or Bar open and after driving for 8 hours i had to go out again only to buy crisps and chocolate for my dinner
The area around the hotel was very quiet. No kitchen, so no evening meals, no restaurant. I had to go outside to find me a restaurant
Althought this hotel is located far away from the city facilities, it is a very calm place to rest at night. The hotel should have a diner restaurant and frigo on the rooms to compensate the absence of places to eat in the neighborhood. In addition, to find the hotel without a gps seems to be quite impossible because it is located in a very small road and there is almost no indications to follow.
I had to sit at a breakfast tables that was not cleaned after previous guests.
good price/quality ratio for the rooms, calm & green area I was eating lunch there and was thinking: "I am really satisfied with this place, I will give a very good feedback on Booking.com. But... the very bad surprise came when checkig-out: 27€ for 1 dish&water at buffet lunch. I tried to complain but I only got the answer: ''you know, this was a buffet, you pay for the choice' that was salads, cheese and salmon..."
peace and quiet - we were the only guests. There was no one in the building during the night
clean beds need more comfert
This is a Chambre d'hotes, not a hotel - but that in no way detracts from the delight of it. The room was spacious, comfortable, with an excellent shower and the furnishings are definately not from a "chain" - they're much more welcoming! Catherine, the owner, is lovely, She & her family make you feel very much at home. Breakfast is served in front of a roaring log fire in the country kitchen/dining room, home made jams & plentiful supplies of Earl Grey....what more can you ask for? Sitting chatting at the breakfast table with Catherine & her other guest was a delightful & charming start to the day. The sort of place that (especially if you travel at lot) you think has all but disappeared. Thankfully - it hasn't. Truly a delight to visit!! This is nothing specifically to do with the hotel, just something to note. Catherine is still waiting for her official Chambre d'hotes sign to be delivered from the relvant agency, so spotting the place can be difficult - especially if you're driving on your own. So - to help you find it: If you drive through Forville & the Pharmacie is on your immediate right - the hotel is the third house on your left (large brick house, set back slightly from the road, with a small horse menage at the front). If you drive through Forville & the Pharmacie is on your immediate left - you've just past the entrance to the hotel by less than 100 yards.
Very good food, friendly owner and interesting building No signage - hard to find without it
This is not a hotel but two rooms at a livery stables. This means you are treated like a friend of the family, sharing a wonderful dinner, and having an enjoyable time talking before retiring to your room. Breakfast was good with a wide variety on offer. Although we were assured that the website made it plain that this was not a hotel we were not aware of this and therefore weren't sure how to get into the place. A bigger sign would have been helpful when arriving at dusk. We have no problem with the fact that it wasn't a hotel, just that we were execting something different and thought perhaps the hotel part was at the back!
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is a recent conversion of a lovely old farm in a small village. Very comfortable and excellent finish. Breakfast was good. Would certainly stop there again.
Room was clean and a good size Nobody in when I arived (5.30 pm) Had to wait 30 minutes to get in. Restaurant was closed as was the village. Long drive to find anywhere open. Retains original farmyard smells
The relaxed atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff I have not found anything I did not like.
Great location, near the motorway for our overnight stop on the way to France. Room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast buffet was good, and the kids ate free (i think). We weren't there very long but they also enjoyed a quick play in the hotels playground outside, and other kids toys in the lobby (lego and playstation).
Hotel layout, parking, brakfast price
We did like the hotel and found it comfortable We thought the standard of cooking was very poor. An omelette is a simple dish but ours were like boot leather and were bearly edible.
The locale. If it did not apply to the stay they shied away from questions or info.
space in the room
From the outside it lookes oke. But the rooms als like a Formule1-hotel (but double the price); the bathroom is plastic and leaking, every hour - during the night - a train is running with a lot of noise, no space beside the bed (i had to remove the bed for the night) etcetc
Clean, basic value for money hotel. Did not have breakfast as too expensive so cannot comment on food.
Excellent dinner;coffee shop style breakfast (free). For those who did not want a full meal None
Very nice smart, clean, modern hotel within walking distance of the Walibi Theme Park which was our reason for staying on this occasion.
I did not enjoy the resturant service at all both for dinner and for breakfast. I did not enjoy overcooked coffee. I did not like having to ask for my room to be made up at 14.00 in the afternoon
Walking in the forest. Play tennis, Swim in the pool. Go by car to the Ardennes resp to the sea. Train to Brussels. Hade excelelnt food at your restaurant and at two restaurants in Wavre. You should change to new fresh floors in the rooms and new better beds.
Personnel was very attentive and the food great. Had to get used to the long corridors and the steps to go up and down.
the location and the fresh air outside was fascinating and the building gives a feeling of medieval times.
no noise not so clear in the bathroom as it is expected in 4 stars hotel
The grounds were very nice. It was a peaceful setting. The shower curtain had a bugger on it. The bed spead had yellow stains. I choose to believe it was coffee.
Price of the breakfast is too high for what you get.
The restaurant was excellent.
Very big room. Very clean. Very confortable. Nice design of the hotel in a castle. The dinner is too expensive. Its either taking a 40 euro dinner (that needs reservation) or having a pizza or lasagna in the bar. And its almost impossible to have dinner close from there. So you should be prepared for that.
The restaurant is very good and not too expensive The room was too small, the pay tv not working, and it was very hot even when snowing outside and window open
