Good location and very comfortable. Nice to be in an not so busy area. We had problems with the link that you gave to the hotel and ended up 30 km out of our way which lost us over an hour to eventually check in.
The staff was lovely and very helpful regarding good places to eat and what was around the area I wish there was a t.v. in the room
This is a perfect hotel to stay at in Tomar. Walking distance to monastary is easy but up. A gorgeous setting on the river. Room was exceptionaly clean but simple. Great customer service Breakfast was good but simple.
The breakfast is excellent. The decorations are typical of Portuguese style. The roms are spacious. There is no tissue and no hair dryer in the room. The bed is too soft.
Friendly helpful staff. Accommodation is ideally suited For those people that would enjoy old mannor houses and character type accommodation. The breakfast was fantastic. Internet wi-fi was very slow at night.
We enjoyed the location and the surrounding countryside and the decor of the individual rooms. The breakfast was excellent.
lovely setting and comfortable room, good breakfast. location was not exactly convenient and bedding was a little too small for the bed
Location, Breakfast, and hotel manager were all excellent.Room was clean and reasonable size. Good WIFI connection.
it was in a good location, and was convienient to get what we needed
very friendly place no
Lolita, the manageress was very nice, warm and helpfull. Our stay was extremely nice. We recommend this hotel/location to all. None at all.
nothing, as the information provided is not accurate Take care, it is 12 km. away from Peniche town and not 8 as advertised, apart from a bar there is no bus or train nor restaurant or any type of shop near so you need a car for everything also for getting to the beach. The rooms have less features as promised, like no air conditioning nor balcony, are very small and smell damp.
Good price.Good service. The ringing of the church bell, right in front of the hotel ,may cause poor sleep.
The friendly staff
Homely and welcoming the hostess was great and spoke perfect english which is alway a help The church bells every hour - takes some getting used to.
We liked the cleanliness and the price. The room for 2 was small, but ok. There is ac. The place is easy to get to, once you find it (see ('dislikes'). It is easy to get into Peniche (10-20 km away) or to the nearby beaches if you have a car. Set in a small town on a plaza across from a 17th(?) century church, but the church clanged its bells every hour and half hour, 24/7. Also, there is no WiFi, which could be a problem for some.
location old furniture
The location is good just outside the city walls with views over the town. The room was big and comfortable, everything was clean and convenient.
Excelent location, good breakfast, wifi access
location breakfast, the rooms are not these show on the pictures and are basic
Very convenient for visiting Obidos.
Friendliness of the staff and excelent location. The queen-size bed was actually a double bed. My wife and I didn't sleep very comfortably.
We were very happy with our stay at this hotel. It was extremely well located, just outside the city gates. The room was clean and spacious, staff were pleasant and the breakfast reasonable. The decor is a little dated but in good condition. We had trouble parking at the hotel, but there was a lot of parking on the street.
The price for the hotel considering its proximity to Obidos was very good. No
Location to Obidos was the best. Walking to all attractions. Parking available. The beds are hard, real hard. They need to upgrade the showers.
It was quiet, it was also close to Obidos, there was parking available outside the hotel. The bath was miniture size, the rooms were very oldy world Portuguese style which may not suit all.
It is a beautiful facility set in a wonderful location. The hotel rooms were hot and they would not correct the problem. We had great difficulty sleeping and left very dissapointed in the management of the hotel. They could have made the rooms cooler but chose to save money on electicity. I have stayed in this hotel twice, once in the winter and now in Sept. I will not come back!
Very friendly personel
Enjoyed taking horseriding lessons at equestrian centre There was only one restaurant open at the club house during our stay at the hotel. We were not advised of this before arriving at the hotel. The hotel is isolated and is difficult to go outside to other restaurants.
Beautiful environment At 8pm, the restaurant did not accept more people, and since no restaurants exist around the hotel, we had to order room service. No activities for children other than outside swimming pool (children only allowed in inside pool from 11am to 15pm).
Comfort, the friendly and helpful staff. Excellent golf course The golf course was expensive to play - should be a bigger discount for residents
I enjoyed the stay and the massage at the SPA was great! Ok, you know that you gonna pay more than on a regular hotel, but the room was big, the breakfast giant on variety and tasty, and the people were very keen to help. The spa pool could had warmer water, also the outside pool, where the water was cold. More free amenities in the room for the price you pay. The check in could be more organized.
The hotel offered an upgrade to a suite. The suite was excellent. Some comments made by the receptionist. The room was a little cold.
The facilities are new. The hospitality is excellent. The meals are great. The room was very clean. Great place to stay!
The staffs are very kind and the breakfast was simple but warm and good service. The facilies are newly equipped and rooms are clean. The space of swimmig pool is not much wide but seems enough for the guest when even fully booked. There is a tennis court near by that is about to open. In short, It was much better than we expected. It's nice place to relax. To reach the hotel was a little bit dificult. It would be better if there was a sign at the main street.
Very relaxing and quiet guesthouse. Very good breakfast served by very obliging and friendly hostess. Secure free parking, lovely grounds inside the walled complex. Apartment very comfotable and modern. Great advice on a good local restaurant by our host. Short drive from beaches, restaurants, attractions, Lisbon in an hour. We enjoyed our stay. Apartment only serviced once during 6 night stay. No iron (available on request), no kettle in the room and fold down couch/bed is inconvenient. Car is essential as the guesthouse is driving distance from restaurants, shops, attractions etc. No local facilities.
Quinta Do Molinu is a peaceful place to stay, the rooms are nicely decorated and the owners are very charming and always available. Breakfast is excellent, the (indoor) pool fantastic and the quinta is situated in very nice surroundings not far from the coast. The quality/price for a T0 is a little bit out of proportions, especially because you do not get a "real" bed but a sofa-bed. For the same price you can get a luxury room in a 5 star hotel in Lisbon.
Great little hotel with excellent facilities. The hosts are extremely friendly and due to the small size of the hotel it is really personal. Good breakfast and I would recommend to try a great home cooked portuguese meal. We brought our golfclubs and played on really beautiful courses only 20 minutes from the hotel. You do need a car to get around in the region. I can really recommend this hotel to anyone!
Finest contemporary architectural style, Superior and exceptionally equiped. (1) I convinced a friend to also make a reservation and the next day he got a better rate (2) Bicycle Rental was publicized in the web site but not availabel. (3) Gardens are not ready yet and therefore you have no privacy.
Stunning concept. Fantastic interior design. Very nice staff. Great golf course. The site is not ready for guests. Restaurant is a canteen. Construction of all the main parts is ongoing. Noise and dirt all over. We decided to move elsewhere, because the atmosphere felt like a mix of Westworld meets teenage horror movie.
The accomodation was first class. Luxury townhouse for the price of a standard hotel room. Being a new resort, facilities are currently very limited.
The kitchen facilitys were excellent, the bathroom was super, My wife especially liked the beds comfort. The entertainment facilitys were very good, especially the TV. The resteraunt was first class.
The hotel is very charming and in a wonderful location. The staff is very helpful. The layout of the bathroom is very awkward.
The house is picturesque, clean and well kept, and very close to the castle. The landlady was helpful suggested some nice restaurants. Breakfast was good. We were lucky to find a parking spot very close to the entrance; parking *might* be a problem.
The proprietor and the rest of the staff are wonderful. When they saw on my passport that it was my birthday, they offered me a drink of the local brandy and put a plate of fruit in my room. The proprietor took the time to give me a tour of the house and answer my questions about Portuguese literature. My room was beautifully decorated, quiet, and very reasonably priced. Not a criticism, but if one arrives by bus, the hotel (or more accurately B & B) is a 5-10 minute walk down the main, cobblestoned (but pedestrian-only) street. So travel light and wear sturdy shoes.
This is a beautiful, traditional Portuguese house. The rooms are small but very interesting and quirky. This is not the place to stay if you like the Hilton, room service and a bar fridge. But if you appreciate heritage and character it is.
This is a good olde world B&B, same character as the town Obidos, narrow streets galore.
location is excellent.Owners/staff were very friendly.
The staff / owners? didn't speak English or French but they seemed to be nice people. The location is good next to the coast. This is a very very modest place to stay so the value for money isn't correctly established in our opinion. The room was humid and cold although we were there on july.
I liked the location of the Recidencial O Forte, the sea views from my room were excellent, the owners were friendly and very helpfull, The food at the Master Cook restaurant was to die for, highly recomended. This is not a dislike only a comment, I would have liked more choice for breakfast,
Family run Hotel very helpful and friendly our second stay in this good value for money hotel
Cleaniness of rooms and hassle free stay plus proximity to beach. Took a while to organise wiFi
Warm friendly welcome. Basic service/facilities but perfectly comfortable and at this time of year it was a real bargain.
Hotel is very attractive inside with beautiful staircases and decoration, a credit to the owners. Great view from the balcony over the river and beach. Really friendly owners made us feel very welcome.Super cafe just 200 yds away overlooking the sea. Only problem was pillows were too hard.
Residencial O Forte is a cosy hotel, with a familiar feel, run by a very nice couple, which was always very helpful and friendly. We stayed for two nights and had a very pleasant experience. The room was clean, the breakfast was simple but enjoyable and the location is perfect. If you don't plan to use the car, you have two beaches at walking distance. If you have a car, you can go 10 Kms south and enjoy the wonderful beach of Santa Cruz. For people who have problems with moist, the location near the sea makes it almost impossible to not notice it, even inside the room. This may be a bit uncomfortable for some.
The surroundings provide a good variety of experiences, either the beach and the ocean, or the lovely mountain vistas and walks.
The beach access and the view, and the breakfast bread. the wind pounding on the windows, had to have the blinds down so it would not make noice (it the windows was hitting the windowframes).
Attentive staff, Ruy especially. The location is superb. The bed was very hard which suited us and the breakfast was good. Empty mini refrigerator was useful. Tiled bathroom was kept clean. The view of the castle walls from Room 206 was beautiful. We arrived by taxi from Caldas da Rainha and were deposited at the door by a driver skilled at negotiating the narrow streets. We left by bus from just outside the Porta da Vila and had no problem with that. Our room opened to the main street which can be noisy with tourist foot traffic. This did not bother us. The windows are not screened so flies in the room can be a problem.
Great place on main tourist street. Fantastic town. Shampoo came in foil packages rather than in bottles.
Perfect location to visit Obidos
delightful place to stay. wonderful service and facilities. a bit pricey.
The location was super - right in the center ofd the ol the old town, couldn't be better Air conditioning was very necessary and very loud, and cooled poorly. Impossible to sleep with it. Open windows and you get flies. Big spider in room, really, really big!! and is still there... Loud people in the hallways at night - hotel didn't do anything to respond. Toilet went out two days in a row - they couldn't get it to stay fixed. We were there three days toilet out two - you do the figuring on comfort. Also wear your shoes in the room - carpets are filthy. One fairly new bed and one very old sway back.
The location inside the city walls was perfect. We parked outside the city walls...we're American and unable to navigate those narrow streets.
nice location, friendly staff, clean and cosy room in a fascinating style. unfortunately the iron was unavailable
Location, cute interior
Nice hotel which is well run by a pleasant staff. Rooms are appointed with traditional furnishings and cleanliness is impeccable. No negative comments
Nice staff who gave good advice on the local attractions
Nice rooms with Marriot standart confort. Bad price quality relation. Room price is too high compared with what is offered. Food is expensive and there are no alternatives near by (Peniche is 20 minutes away). Not even a playroom for children.
We booked this hotel for a luxury stay (expected from a 5 star rated hotel) but were very disappointed: bathroom was not clean, dinner-buffet was awfull (no choice, cold, too expensive), old-fashioned pool-chairs with dirty pillows, ... Totally not worth 5 stars!! Stain on fame of Marriott!!
Relaxing ambience, without a lot of people Staff could be a little bit more friendly, some of them don't have experience
Fantastic hotel with good location and sufficient space. I've been very disappointed by the mattress state. Every night;, i have backache due to the too soft and old bedding. It has been reported to the reception but they just added a wooden plate under the mattress instead to replace it ! The breakfast was a little bit confusion as well...
The silence, the ocean... The animation service, the hours for some animation (Ex. spining).
Hotel facilities are very good. The staff acts properly for a 5* hotel. For a 5* hotel the breakfast buffet could be better
The rooms were beautiful and clean, the beach was excellent. It was very close to Lisbon and surrounding points of interest. Also great if you're a golfer. Hotel staff, particularly the outdoor bar near the pool. Only one staff member was working this area, and with only a handful of customers, it was painfully slow to get a drink (ie 20 minutes and then only with a reminder). No apologies and no welcoming atmosphere. It was just like Trip Advisor comments we read prior to booking......
comfortable rooms, central areas and fitness/indoor swimming pool.Helpful stafflocation next to beautiful coastline poor main courses in set price evening buffet.Poor choice and poor quality - dried out.
Good breakfast. Fantastic sea view and green surrounding the hotel. When we got back to the room after having dinner, we found our bags had been scrambled around and some pieces of clothing were left to the floor. Someone had been messing around our luggage, though nothing was missing. Not a good welcoming treat in any case.
The staff was incredible-so helpful to us with parking, facility orientation, directions, area attractions, etc. The atmosphere was beyond gorgeous! It was all quaint & luxurious at the same time. Only the lack of channel availability on the TV. Not an issue really.
The hotel staff were all very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was excellent. The situation of the hotel made parking difficult - we were not aware how narrow the streets were!
the location within the walls of an historic town; the friendly, competent staff, the attractive room and grounds no
Beautiful hotel. Decoration and staff friendliness are best in class. Restaurant is very good though a bit expensive. Parking is not very convenient and bed mattress should be changed as soon as possible. Apparently we were not the first ones to complain about the mattress which probably dates from the past century!
The friendly staff, their flexibility, the great service: good kitchen and an excellent breakfast The difficulty to reach the hotel by car. It should be better explained that there are huge parking limitations
Staff excellent. Pricey, but if you don't want butter wrapped in silver foil or marmalade in plastic pots with rip-off lids - it's worth it. Recommend breakfast on your balcony - bliss. Warning!! Camels/needles - cars/Obidos.
hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. rooms were clean, well kept, and beautifully decorated. we stayed in December. although the rooms have airconditioner, it was a bit chilly at night.... maybe because of its historic building and its stone floor. I would definitely recommend you to stay in Obidos in warmer season.
This is a beautiful little hotel, very cosy rooms with a quirky medieval theme. The staff are very helpful and friendly and its in a perfect location only a few meters outside of the castle walls. The pool is lovely to relax by after sightseeing. All in all a lovely hotel and a lovely town to spend a couple of nights in.
Excellent Continental Breakfast. No English one though...
Good location, staff helpful, "knight design" silly
Location was excellent and the choice for breakfast was superb. Also availability of garage for car.
Good location, excellent breakfast, helpful staff.
Being in the center of Obidos
location, free parking, breakfast medieval theme carried too far
It's a great hotel. Great medieval decoration. Nice and helpful staff. Perfect location! No.
Enjoyable visit, hotel was somewhat over the top regarding the historical theme however very comfortable, ideal for visiting Obidos and staff were very helpful. They really need more signs on the the road directing you to the hotel
Hotel ideally situated for exploring the Silver Coast.
Location and Hotel ambiance and facilities.
good location, nice room and pool, very friendly staff
Very comfortable and the staff very helpful. I'd have no hesitation in going back again (and may possibly be for 3 days in July). I'd also have no hesitation recommending it to family members or friends. The staff were great- very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended. Very narrow gates on the way in? If you have a big car it can be difficult manoevuring. Very little I didn't like about the hotel- it was quite delightful staying there.
excellent place to relax from city's noise and dust. Swimmingpool, garden.
The staff were wonderful, friendly & informative. Free internet access was great!
quiet, friendly, excellent location for Obidos visit
The friendliness of the staff, the beauty of the hotel and view. I especially liked the amenities available, including the pool table, the computer available to guests for internet use free, and the pool. The property is more beautiful than the pictures on the internet.
Quiet, clean, spacious, modern facilities with traditional country decor, very close to the charming medieval village of Obidos.
Very good, clean, beautiful, well located.
Comfortable room, friendly English-speaking staff, adequate parking. Nice breakfast. Entrance difficult to find. Own transport needed.
Very pleasant atmosphere. Family owned & run. Very clean. No tea & coffee making facilities in room. Pool was a disappointment as it was not very big.
Comfortable and friendly Pity the pool wasn't available
The comfort was really under our expectations and we thought that it is too expensive. For example there was no way to have a toast...at breakfast. The situation is practical for it is easy for someone coming from Porto to find the place even if the sign of tourism rural was not that visible.
The owner is fantasic, we muddles through in a mixture of English, French and Portuguese and she was only too glad to help out at every possible opportunity. She makes her own cakes, cheese, jams etc and they are all available to try. It was a very warm and friendly experience.
Fantastic place, best breakfast of all the places we stayed. Amazing views! Great swimming pool and very beautiful rooms. Excellent value!
excellent location, great views over the ocean, very peaceful ideal for rest, no city noises like trafic, just nature lack of experience of the staff, medium variety in the breakfast (not suitable for a 4 stars) with a lot of flies, great balcony with no chairs on it, bad organisation of space (in and outside)
Friendly staff. Fairly good breakfast. Excelent jacuzzi in the bathroom (on the Double Room Suite)! Not charming at all! Ground floor suite with no privacy. It is definitely not suitable for a romance stay!
