the setting was beautiful. You feel like you are staying in a Chateau. The rooms are large, nicely decorated and very clean. The breakfast was very good. It was all buffet (including coffee), but you can request espresso or cappucino..We really enjoyed our stay the staff are not very visible, (don't expect to be pampered) but we had everything we needed and were very satisfied with everything. If you arrive late you should call and they will make arrangements to leave the key for you.
The room, the staff, the breakfast, the location, the free wifi, the parking. I thought it was overpriced by about 10 euros a night.
Hotel staff were excellent - knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.
Wonderfully friendly reception and the suite (Ceridwen?) was huge and luxurious, with enormous balcony and sun-lounge as well as 3 other rooms.
Very friendly staff, good communication skills.
The wonderful chef offered the wonderful beefsteak, and the waiter was very kindly, keep you family feeling deeply. They do them better for everyone!
From the moment we walked in we were treated as long time friends. I had sent an email in advance to see if they offered hair dryers in each room. I received an email indicated they could make one available during my stay, and when we checked in they presented me with a hair dryer for my use during our stay. They didn't speak a lot of English, but I don't speak a lot of French, but we managed beautifully. The hotel/restaurant has been in the family for decades and during an absolutely fabulously gourmet dinner, our waitress/hostess, Fanny, who also checked us into our room. Was one of the children in the old time photo on the front of the menu. The room was small, but charming and clean. We loved our stay! No, there is nothing we didn't like about our stay. It was fantastic!
Charming owners who are were very helpful and friendly. Also very well positioned for visits to the Haut Medoc. Also, for wine lovers, a good hotel retaurant with a good range of wines from Listrac. The hotel owners also introduced me to a good producer of local wine. Rooms need updating and are a bit spartan. Wifi really only works in the restaurant and not in the bedrooms.
Located in very small village Listrac, directly by the bus, main road, 10 minutes driving distance from Pauillac, 30 minutes driving from Bordeaux. Food prepared in hotel by the owner is fair, but definitely not a choice for 'foodie' person. Great place if you need a roof over your head near major Chateaux of Medoc. This place has rather family place then a professional hotel facility. The images of the hotel on their website are only accurate as far as inside. Their attempt to make an impression the hotel is located in the middle of wine country with vineyards is inaccurate. WiFi does not reach to some hotel rooms. Not a luxury hotel by any mean.
Good cuisine and good wine in the restaurant. I really enjoyed them. It was also good to have a bathtub in the room. The wall is so thin. Unfortunatelly there was a familly whose children made a noise until midnight and it bothered us very much. I woke up because of this noise!
Easy access and close to airport Gloomy room and smell of smoke
Reception staff were excellent and extremely helpful Bed was rather uncomfortable
good customer care at reception desk on 30 July- late check in standard of rooms could be better, messy area on the left from reception desk-dining room, this hotel is generally ok if you are looking for cheap stay@ airport
Standard of accomodation for the cost.
Food for vegetarians could have been more imaginative
Everything spotlessly clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Difficult to find, needed more detailed directions.
Small but perfectly formed, very clean, modern and comfortable. Nice helpful staff. Great price, very close to airport and one 30-40min bus ride away from central Bordeaux.
Very modern and surprising budget hotel, good location when you are by car, otherwise forget it. Nothing really
Proximity to the airport
Design of room. Room is too small, no furniture, even chairs and closet for clothes, just for sleeping. Breakfast for additional payment, no restaurant at hotel.
the room was clean and comfortable Not as near to the airport as expected, I was alone and would have liked more information about getting to the hotel.
Having come from the Chateau Mirambeau, which is a fabulous property, with wonderful rooms, a dedicated, highly trained, helpful staff, with impeccable attention to fine details, I was disappointed with the Relaix Margaux. The room appoints were not up to the clas of the hotel. The bed was too soft, with old blankets instead of a duvet. The Internet did not work for the first night there. My initial encounter with the staff was less than positive, although their helpfulness improved during the stay. The grounds are nice, and I enjoyed many things at the property; but I expected much more. The health club did not open until 9:00 a.m. The hallway lights did not go on timely. The hot water in the sink was not hot enough.
Friendliness, excellent food abd comfort and suitability for my wife who uses awheelchair
I liked the size of the room and its tea making facility. I was very disappointed to learn that I had to pay 30 euros each time I wished to use the gym facility.(When I am staying in a hotel, I expect to be able to have free use of the fitness room.) Only the Brasserie restaurant was open (the gastronomic 'L'Isle Vincent' was closed for winter) and my husband and I were the only guests for most of our meal. (One other couple arrived as we were leaving.) Despite this, service was poor(we were left sitting at our table for too long after arrival so I had to go and ask for drinks and for our order to be taken!) The meal was very disappointing...overcooked expensive escalope de foie gras starter and equally overcooked red mullet fillets! I also found the reception unforthcoming and unhelpful.
location was the main thing for us as we were cycling. Comfortable stay and we were well rested afterwards. Spacious room
It was beautifully situated, quiet and the staff were excellent. Not really designed for young children, though the staff go out of their way to try to help, and no place to really walk around the beautiful grounds.
The hotel complex is located among vast vineyards of Margaux, 2kms from Margaux village itself. Rooms are spacious and well-equipped, spa is very relaxing and the staff is extremely courteous and helpful
Lovely hotel and golf course - gorgeous robes and slippers in the room - convenient for seeing the chateaus of Margaux
There was an extra charge for everything including internet usage! The restaurant which was open during our stay only offered a la carte dining and was quite expensive for a very informal setting.
Perfect location for a few days in the Medoc. Very friendly staff and excellent food. Well maintained both inside and outside.
The staff was really extremely helpful, very polite and friendly. There was no soups or salads on the hotel menu...In either of the 2 restaurants...
Very convenient to the airport. Clean and comfortable. Good price. Very good restaurant (except the staff was not friendly). The staff could have been friendlier. They rarely smiled, and didn't seem to enjoy their work. The woman at the front desk the morning of our departure scolded my spouse when he mistakenly took a glass of orange juice from the table in the lobby, not knowing it was for people at a conference. There should have been a sign about that, and she should have been nicer about explaining that to him. She was rude. The waitresses in the restaurant weren't friendly either.
NOTHING ~ particularly as we were so abused by the desk clerks See above
Friendly staff, nice breakfast, swimming pool.
Staff very friendly and helpful. comfortable. close to the airport .
Convenient for airport, city and coast. Bus stop for city outside hotel. The food was much better than expected.
Location to airport A pleasant garden and swimming pool were featured in the advert.this was not the case. The pool was closed and filthy. there was no garden . We felt misled and would not have stayed there if we knew these facilities did not exist. the hotel corridor outside our room was dirty.
near the airport not far from the city. bedroom size
Quet room, good service, would stay again, liked the pool.
Good clean facilities Needs in room coffee/tea maker
Hotel equally suitable for business or leisure
Proximity to airport, friendliness of staff Restaurant was not open on Sunday
Pool open 24 hours, had it to ourselves. Grounds kept very nice. Rooms spacious & lovely. A real bargain at 65 euros. No signs to help us find from the airport.
Stayed at this hotel on previous occasions and once again we were not disappointed. Very pleasant staff and good service. Very good buffet in restaurant. Hotel very convenient for overnight stay.
Good restaurant - friendly and efficent staff
Location - perfect for our overnight stay between Holland and Portugal, food was excellent, classic room was very comfortable and had everything you could wish for. staff are lovely people - they aim to make your stay as pleasurable as possible, we would certainly stay here again.
Help from Receptionist on Sunday pm to provide cold meal
We arrived later in the evening and the staff member on duty was prepared with our reservation so that check in took seconds. Additionally he got the extra bed for our youngest to our room within 10 minutes. The room was more than adequate for our family of 5.
Everything...we have stayed at a lot of hotels 2/3 stars !!!!! UK-Far East. This is the best hotel that we have ever used. The receptionist that was on from the after noon till late was fantastic. As you can see we were over whelmed as the staff and management seem to have got it right.
The hotel had a pool which suited our young daughter and the menu did allow for children. The meals We thought that the price of food and drink was very expenisinve. It made the cost of a reasonably inexpenisve hotel very expensive. Eating a basic meal for 2 adults and 1 child over two nights was over 100 euros (excluding drinks). Although I would recommend the hotel overall I would warm that the cost of food and drink is high.
i thought the restaurant on saturday evening was a disssappointment. My guests than they were able to handle with the staff onhand.
Everyone was very nice and treated us like we owned the hotel. It was very pleasant. There were bees swarming the terrance so we had to go inside in the middle of eating our dinner.
My wife enjoyed the spa treatment. The room had no view of the golf course. Had I been aware of this I would not have booked. I believe that either Booking.com or the hotel misled on this.
The rooms, the restaurant The breakfast was expensive and not very appealing
Good location near the Bordeaux Lac, good restaurant, great breakfast, internet available for guest use, Swimming pool was a little too warm (would have prefered 2 degrees lower) to make it refreshing after a hot day. Otherwise, no negative comments at all.
It was luxurious, friendly, and well organized. It was a real treat to stay there. The rooms and hotel decor were stunning.
The beautiful situation and the splendid room; also the spa was perfect The restaurant personnel was not that guest friendly and sometimes it could be more professional. The price of menus and wine was to high.
Nice country location, comfortable, good breakfast (17Euro).Dog friendly, free Wifi. You have to pay Euro 20 per person to use the swimming pool!
good location, service oriented staff (in france!) rooms are to basic, eps bathroom
clean comfortable rooms. short stay so unable to comment further unable to watch a rugby match in the bar, yet able to watch in our room
The bed and especially the sheets were wonderful.
It is close to the Bordeaux airport but gets little aircraft noise. Room ventilation system was broken. Bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. I will try a different hotel next time
Air conditioning works well. Bed comfortable, I but recommed booking an extra bed and not sleeping on the sofa in the room, if travelling with child. Room quiet and quite spacious. Bathtub and little pentry also good The pool is practically on the parking lot.
super room! great location. quiet!!!
the rooms were spacious and comfortable and the showers were excellent. access for disabled users was good, bar food was poor - not enough selection and poor quality
The staff at the breakfast room are really helpful and friendly. However the staff in the reception are not that helpful. The facilities in the room are not great (e.g. only 1 set of tower was provided although we have booked a double room for 2 persons)
Convenient to the airport for early morning flight. Good services, friendly staff, comfortable bed!
Very convenient for the airport, comfortable rooms and shuttle service to the airport
Roomservice was reasoneble and effective. Had to take taxi to go anywhere and this was costly. If you travel by plane and plan to stay in the area location is excellent though. Smaller pool than expected.
Room was well appointed. Very good bathroom. It did not have a restaurant.
The Staff were polite and helpful, the bed was very comfortable, the breakfast excellent, room service was unexpected surprise. The setting was elegant, refined and serene The difficulty of access at peak hour traffic
Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Claire expecially - as a new member of staff she went out of her way to ensure that we had a wonderfull stay. Lovely setting. Lovely building. Lovely room. What more can we say. It would be nice if it had a bar and restaurant. The booking.com directions were totally worng and took us hours out of our way on the other side of the river!
This is a beautiful, small hotel. The rooms were very large, elegant, luxurious. Extremely quiet. Nice pool, and few rooms. Internet access was great. There were not enough employees the weekend we were there. The receptionist was also the breakfast chef, which made timely food prep and checkout challenging. The room service is okay, but again, the chef is usually at the reception desk. Location was okay, but traffic into Bordeaux was awful.
Staff was very nice. Although a bit expensive, the breakfast was very good. Loved the view of the river (don't look to the right though). Room were very spacious and spotlessly clean. Beds were a bit hard and made noise everytime one turned over. Location is a bit out of the way but every other review stated this too and they didn't lie. Be sure to have a car!!!
Big room with large balcony(Suite Garonne View)
The Chateau was very exclusive, good as a romantic hideaway but not advisable if you want to have access to Bordeaux City Centre. It is a reasonable location if you have your own transport as it is halfway between the vineyards in Paulliac and St Emilion. I did not realise the chateau was so remote with nothing nearby at all. No restaurants close enough to go to, and no restaurant in the chateau. You have to rely on rooom service, or a 30 minute trip to Bordeaux City Centre for which you will sometimes be saddled with a 2-way taxi fare cost.
the room, the building, piece, informations.... no bar, industrial surroundings
It was so fantastic.
The loveliness of the castle, its locaton on the river, and the quietness. Also, the size of the rooms is a plus. Lisa was also a plus. She was so very helpful in information about the area and dining. The only thing I would say would be the fact of no dinner in the evening. A nice menue on the lovely veranda would really add to the comfort of the castle and the comfort of the customers who come in after being out all day, needing a simple but enjoyable meal by the river.
Very convenient, on main autoroute system with easy access (including tram) into Bordeaux. Good breakfast if you're not too late, and very comfortable roooms and beds.
The place is nice for business people who need a confortable place when they finish their work Poor breakfast
staff were really helpful and the hotel is brand new, clean and pleasant to stay in location is off putting, but it did not matter once we stayed there
Room & hotel facilities were good Restaurant offered a good menu but the quality of the food was poor and served lukewarm. Location was isolated with no alternative local restaurants.
Courteous and helpful staff, good bed and close to main highway, with secured parking Breakfast cost was prohibitive
Clean, nice rooms. Location on industrial estate. Bar terribly expensive - 6 euro for a small fresh orange!!! Staff at reception not that friendly.
very attantive personel and the hotel is a new and there for nice and clean hotel.
Enjoyed a fabulous meal at Leons because the hotel had no catering! see above
the modern room, the cleanness and the proximity of Bordeaux!
efficient helpful staff
breakfast is served from 5 o´clck in the morning,There is a shuttle service from the airport The desk in the room was not so big, if you want to work. There is only one el contact, when you want to connect both PC and a printer
Atmosphere cheerful and friendly. Staff very helpful. Because my flight out was late afternoon I had to eat in your hotel having no transport of my own. I had an evening light meal and lunch the following day, both of which were barely edible and overpriced, fruit at breakfast either overripe or not ripe enough to eat, for this reason I would not stay in this hotel again.
Location and staff. Room was very small and nothing like the photos at the web site.
The hotel was good value and offered an excellent dinner. We would use the hotel again if we were near the city. Internet slow and unreliable. Nothing hot at breakfast
Proximity to airport and nicer than other chain hotels. I do not recall anything saying that the restaurant was closed on Sunday.
Efficient staff, well organised hotel, v g dinner menue, excellent breakfrast w healthy choices, excellent info about Bordeaux and the region. Single glazed windows in the non-renovated area - a bit noisy, but we were given the choice to change room to double glazed if we had wanted.
Modern clean rooms, friendly staff. The AC was warm in both rooms we stayed in. I had to open the window to get fresh air. Rooms too small, the pictures in the site are decieving.
Great design and decor in rooms, very comfortable rooms, free wi-fi, nice staff, excellent location near airport, good for a stopover or to visit the area. The restaurant might serve the worst food in France!! Very bad quality, and expensive. Restaurant not open at night for dinner, but there are better choices nearby within a 5 min drive.
Staff at reception very helpful, could check in at 9:30 already, help with plane booking appreciated. Bus stop (liane 1) directly in front of hotel, good connection to airport and town there is free WiFi, but it is rather clumsy to use (not the fault of the hotel but of the company providing the service
The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our request for a taxi for 0500hr was dealt with immediately. And there was coffee available before 0500hr. That the restaurant was not open, and we had to seek out another place to eat, and what we really wanted was something on site so we could just eat and get to sleep early , because we had an early flight out. It would be great if there was a room that had 2 double beds, instead of the 2 single beds. We are used to having bigger beds.
Lunch in the restaurant - excellent food & service. Paucity of airport shuttle services at the weekend. The furnishing of the bedroom was poorly designed - no drawers & no writing surfaces.
