10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the detached queen sweet cabin and it was perfect. A cozy, natural wood laden studio with an efficient kitchenette and a luxurious bath - the bed was very comfortable and the gas fireplace added the finishing touch to a private and romantic weekend. Exactly what we were looking for.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Warm cozy room on a cold snowy night. What else could you want? Picked up keys for the cottage at the bar. Staff very friendly. Bar food was excellent
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the separate cottage which was lovely, with our own garden area outside.
Cons: No TV and no breakfast.
5.0 Okay
Pros: There were some nice home made quiches and fresh fruit left for us in a small kitchenette area for breakfast. The room was warm & cosy looking.
Cons: Having booked a room in the main hotel, we found the hotel locked up and not open; there was a note stuck on the front door instructing us to go to the bar, in another building close by. We had arrived at the Dorrington after 6.00 pm, after a long journey from Santa Monica. We were tired. It was also my birthday on the day we arrived. The bar girl told us that a small log cabin had been prepared for us. It was very sweet, but there wasn't the restaurant we were promised with the hotel booking, nor a tv in our room. On checking out at 9.00 am, the next day none of the hotel or bar stuff were available to hand in our keys. We ended up giving them to the post office lady, who operated an office attached to the end if the bar area. We should Not to be sold something we were not getting. We were disappointed with the whole experience.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Ambiance. Friendly staff.
Cons: Was a bit dusty.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff n owner very helpful and friendly. Made us feel like friends. Town was very peaceful but lots of activity to do. And only 5 mins from Big Trees where we attended a wedding. Great time can’t wait to go back.
7.5 Good
Pros: Room simplicity and location
Cons: I expected that bedding will be changed every day, not only towels.
6.8 Good
Pros: The room is very small for two people to move around and not bump into each other. There are only two hooks to hang clothes and one folding luggage chair which barely fits into a space by the door. There is an air conditioner of some sort just outside room 12 that turns on at night and runs until morning, very loud! Street noise is also very loud. There should be side table lamps, not just overhead lighting that is piercing and does not provide ambience. Refrigerator is low to the ground and the size hardly worth the space it takes up under a counter.
Cons: Improve upon the complaints listed above
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed the king sized bed. Fireplace was cozy. Clean room with amenities. Location was walking distance to great restaurants. Staff was welcoming & helpful.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location was easy to find and right on the 4 Highway. Very close to Murphy's and Calveras Big Trees. Room was warm, clean and tastefully furnished. Staff were also very helpful and friendly.
Cons: Unfortunately, the walls of the Timberline Lodge are seriously paper thin. Wow, could hear audibly every word of our neighboring room's conversations as if they were right in the room with us. Coughing, sneezing, laughing, watching TV etc could hear everything. Wish the sound proofing was better!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Restaurants real close to the place
Cons: Room kind of small for the price
7.5 Good
Pros: Bed was a nice size king bed. However, it randomly vibrates and there us no control switch.zRoom temperature controlled by fireplace. Nice touch.
Cons: Definitely over priced. Room size, bathroom dated. Floor covers could use area rug. "Motel" would be a more accurate description. Reception was locked after we checked on. No staff on duty. No common "lodge"lounge space. This is a lodge by names title only.
6.3 Good
Pros: Rooms to old needs to be upgraded. Needs more parking
Cons: Location
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is great, just in the middle of town, close to the big tree park and about 40 to bear valley resort. The room is cozy, comfortable and the right size for two adults and two kids.
Cons: The bathroom was clean, but should be renovated.
8.0 Excellent

7.4 Good

Cons: N/A
5.5 Okay
Pros: close to bear valley ski resort
Cons: Very basic room, old carpet, very small for 4 people. We left and simply went home.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Think of it as a version of hostelling but for all demographics - from single adults to families with adolescent children. If you aren't chatting with the other guests you are missing out. The staff are very present (unobtrusively), friendly and responsive. They know the area and make suggestions about places to visit based on your interests. The family and staff are involved in other aspects of Bear Valley tourism, so don't be surprised if you see them in other contexts.
Cons: Better WiFi, but really, why?
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff friendly and helpful.
9.3 Excellent

Cons: Not having black out curtains hard to sleep in it was so bright
8.8 Excellent

Cons: The property has many different types of rooms with very different amenities (for example, some have private kitchen, some have private bathroom, some don't). If it is important for you, check your booking information thoroughly.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and efficient staff. Open kitchen to grab breakfast and pay on your own. This was a nice touch of trust.
Cons: The doors would not close. Need realignment or repair.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Full service kitchen available for guests to use. Lots and lots of choices for breakfast, self service. Parking was easy, rooms were comfortable, the host was very friendly and attentive. The common room was large with plenty of seating and full of options for activities on long winter nights. Lots of books. yay. Will stay again.
Cons: Could not see the sign from Hwy 4 due to massive about of snow, over 15 ft high. Circled back and found parking lot entrance on second try. Everything else was great.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The corner room allowed for a nice breeze after a hot day
Cons: We were over the deck and there were guys talking, but after ten pm the stopped
