Pros: Tried to have two of my children's flight changed to our flight but the Avianca flight person said they could not do the change in Cusco and instead to do it in Lima.. The flight left 45 min late to Lima and arrived 20 min late. We ran to the Avianca counter and they then told us we were too late to make the change after 10 min of talking. We all missed our flight to bogota as a result and they told us flippantly we would have to pay to fly the next morning because the next flight that night was full. They then tried to dismiss us with a phone number to call to get help. After I protested, the supervisor finally cane over and after explaining how many times we were not helped and given false info, she finally miraculously found seats on the next flight and put us on it, in the very back of the plane even though there were many seats throughout the plane available. It should NEVER have come to that. I am disgusted with Avianca's customer service.
Cons: Poor customer service. Lied to in Cusco about not being able to change the flight. Lied to in Lima about not being able to change the flight. Lied to in Lima about there being no seats on the next flight. Not helped and instead just given a phone number. To make matters worse, I also felt like we were racially discrimated against. We are African American and were treated poorly compared to the two Peruvian men who missed their flight as well. Avianca has a problem if this is its policy.
