Pros: The location was within easy driving distance to the Vezere sites. We were given an room upgrade with an expansive view over the farm land. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful in every way. We found the meals good value and were able to eat out on the terrace each evening.
Cons: The bathroom was rather old fashioned and small. However the toilet was in a separate room. Like a lot of properties of yesteryear there was no lift and required bags to be carried up stairs, In our case we were assisted with getting our bags delivered to our room,
Pros: Great setting, excellent dinner
Cons: It was a little difficult to find and the acdidnot seem very effective
Pros: Centrally located to many wonderful sights and Chateaux. Quiet, rural ambiance. Such an unique setting. The food was superb! The pool was refreshing after a long, hot day of visiting the sites.
Cons: It was perfect. I would highly recommend it and I already have!
Pros: Fabulous character.
Cons: No ironing facilities in room. Would love to see an iron provided in the room.
Pros: The history, staff, room and food
Pros: Variety of the food available for breakfast. Dinner was excellent Surroundings were lovely.
Cons: Air conditioning switched off during the night and the bedrooms got very hot. Also air conditioning leaked.
Pros: The castle is very beautiful. the restaurant and the bar have a very good enviroment both inside and outside. Location is also very good.
Cons: They dont take care of this nice property in the way the property deserve. The room was very dark, the view was into a rock wall at the back of the hotel. The wallpapers have started to loosen from the walls, the color selection looks very old-fashioned and it is not beautiful. The breakfast is expensive but the content is ordinary. There are withered leaves in the pool, on the pool area and around the buildings. Weeds grow between the soil stones. The houseplants outdoors are poorly maintained. There is rubbish on the ground. Tiles are missing in the pool, cushions for the loungers by the pool were only available one day. The impression is that the owner is missing and that the employees do not care. Very sad for a place that can be fantastic.
Pros: Location stunning complex good but rooms poor for the price.
Cons: Rooms very tired and in need of update. Very warm. Rest of the complex excellent.

Pros: The character of the building was superb, and the room I was in was enormous! The grounds were lovely with plenty of trees and we ate a very good meal undercover outside. The owner was very nice too.
Cons: The swimming pool was out of use but they had some issues with it that they were working on.
Pros: The archetypal French country hotel. Totally laid back and relaxing, with big cool spaces and traditional decor. The food is decent and reasonably priced - not an exciting gastronomic experience but we chose to eat in for three nights and enjoyed our relaxed dinners.
Cons: Unfortunately the pool was out of commission but that seemed to be a short term problem.
Pros: An hotel with charms and a soul, people are welcoming, fantastic. Beautiful hotel with so much charms and they love animal so dogs are welcome , and food is really nice
Pros: Fascinating historic building , full of well chosen antique furniture and unexpectedly extensive beautiful park. Spacious bedroom and well arranged bathroom.. delicious dinner on two nights. This is the genuine article, an interesting traditional hotel, oozing charm, run by the owner and untouched by the dead and tasteless hand of the French hotel refurbishment industry. If you want modern blandness don’t stay here.
Cons: Menu appeared unchanged for some time, but Madame did provide something different on the second night.
Pros: interesting old manor house very quiet, lovelyl ldy
Cons: lighting was feeble
Pros: We stayed here on the last few nights of our holiday, and it was a real treat. The building and the rooms are beautiful, the staff are very friendly and the food was amazing, real French cuisine from Dordogne. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a rustic and charming place to stay.
Pros: Huge rooms with comfy beds and antique furniture. Excellent chef made dining in at night a great option. In the village but with views into the countryside.
Pros: A marvellous location 10 minutes off the motorway in an old chateau. Welcome swimming pool. Huge bedrooms. Wonderfully eccentric proprietress. Good meals.
Pros: Really lovely hostess who welcomed us warmly and made our stay very relaxing. Gorgeous evening meal which was excellent value and she recommended a really good wine. ( my gluten free diet was well catered for) The grounds are very pretty and extensive, ideal for walking my dogs who were made very welcome. There is a pool too but we stayed in February. Huge room with small bath and shower. Building very old so quite quirky. Would definitely stay there again. Great for families too.
Cons: Nothing really
