Loved everything.perfect for young travelers. Lovely hosts!
Bar and eating area were cool to hang and chill. The beds were a bit firm but I did not mind. Having to keep riding the ferry was a bit much but if you factor that into your commute you should be good. Currently there is a ton of construction on all sides which hindered me finding it the first time but once I found the bridge I was good.
Good location. Owners very nice, helpful and obliging. Nicely prepared and presented tasty breakfast Would have been nice to have a chair in the room and a light next to the bed.
Everything was great, but lack of bathrooms doors surprized a lot. There is a great library, each room is unique. Lovely really helpfull hosts!
excellent...quiet neighborhood, spacious & comfortable room, friendly & respectful owners and wonderful breakfast!! would easily recommend to others.
Very nice host. Very convenient public transportation to city center. Very nice room.
1) The fact that although it was not right in Amsterdam City Center, we could take a tram and be there in about 5 - 8 minutes. 2) The host and hostess were gracious as well as fascinating, and we learned a bit about Dutch culture from them. 3) There was an excellent casual restaurant only a block away. 4) Plenty of parking. 5) A good library with comfy chairs for reading. 5) A good value.
allowed to keep my bags there after checking out, and come back for them before leaving, and also the early morning check in time!
Location is perfect. 4 years ago it was the sea!!! nothing
Beautiful house, great design, very comfortable (comfy beds, spacious room), felt just so relaxed:-) There is everything you need (towels, hair dryer, heating...) We could hear running water and flushing from the room next to ours.
Nice owners, spacious room, good connection to the center of Amsterdam (day and night), quiet and safe neighborhood..... nicely style and design.....
The familiar environtment and respect no
The owner is wonderful. The rooms are excellent. The bed and bathroom could not be better. The Kitchen is well stocked and easy to use. Everyone was wonderful. Our only regret was that we were not staying longer. It was a restful, well considered, and fun place to stay. The owner really knows what travelers want from a Bed and Breakfast. Everything that is great about Amsterdam is close, and there are many excellent restuarants nearby, one is right across the road. A great place to stay, we cannot wait to return.
Size of the room, location, interior, free Internet access Room's noise insulation should be better: a little bit noisy in the morning because of people movements in the lobby
The B&B was well located and the owner was very friendly. It was clean and modern and the bathroom in particular was well appointed. There was only really space for two people to eat breakfast at a time. This could be a problem if all the guests wanted to eat at the same time.
Ieke was an amazing host, she is so chilled and very helpful. The b&b is spotless, the rooms are lovely with en-suite bathrooms. There is a real family feel to the place, it's more like staying in a friend's house than a hotel. The location is great, the Leidseplein is a few minutes walk away and the tram runs on the next street so it's very easy to get around. All in all a great experience.
The staff of the hotel. The couple that owns the hotel are very nice and most helpfull. I was not told that I should pay for the parking and that was a little expensive. They charged me 10,00 euros extra, but...........
Simply perfect - better than we could ever have imagined.
Very good contact with Ieke , the owner ! Nice place to visit Amsterdam and nice recommandation to do the best in this great city. The space for breakfast is really so tiny... ;-)))
Being close to the city centre They are quite a few animals for such a small place and it would have been nice to be told in advance. Two of them are parrods who keep squeaking during the day what makes impossible to have a nap. Also it's a complicated operation to get out through the main door because of the birds flying away. The room was very small and hot and during the stay of three days the towels were not changed even once.
What a find! This studio apartment is in a great location on a very quiet street near the Museumplein and many great restaurants and shops. The studio apartment is very well furnished and is stocked with everything for a great breakfast and a great stay. Martin, the host lives upstairs and is always willing to offer advice about where to eat, what to see, how to rent bikes and interesting cultural items. We loved staying at this place and would highly recommend it to others.
Excellent location. Very convenient way of serving breakfast. We thought it worked out quite expensive for 4 people, given that one bed is a camping bed and we all shared one room. It would be reasonable for two people.
Perfect position: close to the Museums and few minutes walk to the town center. Friendly and cooperative staff. Plenty of food for breakfast. .
Excellent location! Practical and trendy interior.Spacious room and kitchen facility are appreciated. Quality of a spare folding bed might not be suitable for an adult.
Stayed at the Kien b&b for 3 nights during June 10, Martin the owner was there upon arrival and was very helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a self contained studio in a good location in Amsterdam then Kein is perfect. It's within easy walking distance of the musuem quarter and has plenty of good bars and restaurants close by. The tram stop is around 5mins walk away which takes you the Dam Square area of the city. We stayed in the basemenet apartment which meant we has access to a pleasent little garden. Would highly recommend.
Friendly landlady, clean studio, in the city,
Kien B & B was outstanding. The studio was large, beautifully decorated and tranquil. Yet it was walking distance to all sights and an excellent value. It was wonderful to be able to use the refrigerator and stovetop. Mary Kien gave great information on restaurants and airport transfer. We hope to visit again soon.
Location, facilities, the owner personality
We were traveling with our adult daughter when we stayed at Kien. Her bed was in a different section of the apt. which afforded the maximum privacy for 3 adult family members in a one room studio. Although the kitchen and bathroom were compact, they were more than adequate for our needs. We found the apt.well stocked, including umbrellas and maps. But best of all were the little attention to details provided by our host, Martin. The day of our arrival, there were some cold drinks and beer in the frig Each day when Martin restocked our breakfast items, he added special goodies for us based on what he had noticed we enjoyed such delicious pastries and sweets. One evening we found a bottle of wine. Bonus - Martin speaks English fluently. Wished there had been an electrical outlet near a mirror. Even though Kien is on a side street, it is noisy at night - but so is everything in Amsterdam.
The room was large and full of light. It was an excellent location near the city but yet far away enough for quiet. The flexibility of fixing your own breakfast with all the items provided was very nice. Martin was a great wealth of help and information. I think it just needs a rug or two on the floors for warmth and a DVD player as some music would have been very nice.
