Pros: Small hotel superb location at tentative staff
Cons: Room soundproofing but no major problem
Pros: Very comfortable room. A charming hotel in a charming white village. Excellent restaurant. Very helpful hotel owners.
Pros: Very nice hotel in excellent location in the village with great views from the room, specially liked the breakfast.
Pros: Management and staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was excellent.
Pros: good bed and quite place to stay.
Cons: no opend room view and bad soundproof. small tv.
Pros: - it's a really lovely country hotel in a small village among olive groves. - the hotel is neat, tidy. staff polite and helpful - the most comfortable beds in Andalucia! - fabulous local food in the restaurant. And very well priced wines too. I would certainly recommend having dinner there! The pate was particularly good!
Pros: Location cleanliness. Outside restaurant
Cons: Would have liked an outdoor bar atea
Pros: Charming small hotel in beautiful little village up a steep hillside with great views. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Lovely rooms with very fine views (from top floor rooms at least), comfy beds, attractive compact bathrooms. Delicious food including unusual local specialities (eg Sephardic salads, cavellina) served on the patio outside if you reserve a table. Reasonable breakfasts though slightly limited choice. Attractive little plunge pool. Incredibly good value.
Cons: Bedroom walls are indeed a bit thin. Parking is a bit of challenge because of the steep and narrow streets. A shame there’s nowhere to sit outside with good views, eg with a drink or for an evening meal. Really lovely hotel though.
Pros: Outside terrace for evening meal, excellent food and service.
Cons: Could not fault it.
Pros: A good place to stay! The bed was very comfy, we took the diner and ir was delicious!!
Pros: Fantastic location! Perfect location for doing the "Vias Verdes" by bicycle or walking. You can go straight down to the "Vias Verdes" paths from the house and choose 3 directions. Towards Jaen, towards Baena and towards Zuheros, the last one is absolutely the most beautiful path. You do not need to start the car. Also you have the option to eat in the restaurant next by, without picking the car. The owners are very friendly and let us stay longer. We also tried there own organic olive olie which is prima quality. The apartment is comfortable, well equipped, with all you need and a beautiful view from your own big terrace over the olive groves and the mountains. The fireplace kept us warm and the owner gave us wood for the fire, we really appreciated that.
Cons: It was cold when we got there.
Pros: The view was perfect, very friendly owners
Cons: There was not a lot of kitchen equipment.

Pros: Location and view are unbeatable!
Cons: Smell in our room toilet (
Pros: Beautiful old building, good food. Peaceful surroundings. Good spa
Cons: Some vetebales with the dinner
Pros: Location and great for the cycle track
Cons: Sadly Minerva suffers from a severe lack of care, of pride and general maintainance. It is looking very tired and in need of some serious investment. Our treatment on arrival was one of total indifference, the worst we have ever experienced. The general lack of staff was very evident and the breakfast was very poor. The staff at breakfast were just miserable. It is a pity the management have not taken a lesson from nearby Zuheros, where all the residents take a great deal of care and pride in their homes and the whole village Facilities at Minerva were very average and we didnt dare try the restaurant and never did find or were shown the extra advertised spa facilities. Minerva is described as 'luxury' and 'boutique", the management need check on the translation of those words. As Minerva certainly is neither. The bikes on hire needed a clean
Pros: Incredible area, views from the pool are fantastic, AC worked really well, enjoyed my time there.
Cons: i have nothing to complain about, in its context its a great hotel.
Pros: Nice small hotel in the middle of the olive greenway. Individual style rooms in a hacienda built in 1837, different and interesting. Good selection of food, nice quiet atmosphere.
Cons: There were plenty of cats, perhaps too many ! They left a bit of dirt around. The baths were closed because of summer heat but thought they were to be open in June ( I had been looking forward to seeing them. Also the liability unfortunately was closed!
Pros: Location superb with easy access to Via Verde and walking. Breakfast was excellent. It cost a bit more than usual but everything was on offer from cooked breakfast to continental and coffee is good. Friendly staff. Love the swallows being allowed to nest.
Cons: Difficulties with door key to the room, tap in washbasin was falling off, too many cats and associated smells
Pros: Lovely setting, very friendly and helpful staff, spotlessly clean.
Cons: Pool towels and a kettle and cups for tea/coffee making would be good ?
Pros: Beautiful, romantic setting with stunning views. We had dinner one night at the restaurant which was delicious.
Cons: There are cats everywhere. We love cats and have one ourselves. These cats however, are not cared for, they are full of fleas and in need of some love.
Pros: Location was Great
Cons: Loved it
Pros: It’s away from it all with a spectacular hillside location, amazing views from the pool and a relaxed vibe. It is 50 yards from the Via Verde cycle trail. Plenty of nooks and crannies including an authentic bar and a fine sun terrace. I liked the honesty box for poolside drinks.

Pros: The staff was fantastic, at the reception but also at the bar. Modern and nice big room, great terraces and a pool! We came by bike, and the via verde starts in front.
Pros: Quiet area. Nice pool. We were biking the via Verde so the location just across the street was great. Bfast was coffee and toast. Friendly staff. Ate dinner in the bar and food was good.
Cons: The whole place could use a paint job.
Pros: The location for us was really good as we were biking the Via Verde and was very close to the hotel. Nice friendly staff upon check in and the room was nice and clean. The Wifi worked well and there was plenty of hot water for a shower. The room was clean and tidy and the hotel had a restaurant and bar. They had a good storage facilities for our bikes.
Cons: It was a little walk into town but we already new this when booking.
Pros: The staff were unobtrusive but helpful. I liked the freedom.
Pros: It's Across the road from the Via Verde Greenway bike path. There is a good choice of food at the Cafe including lunch and dinner menu del día. Nice sunny verandahs for every room.
Cons: On the edge of town, about 20 minutes walk with a suitcase from the bus stop. Meals were available at set times in line with most Spanish establishments although the cafeteria area is stated to be 24 hours. The outdoor lounge areas were not able to be used on rainy days due to no shelter, but there is a small inside sofa in the foyer.
Pros: Location good
Pros: Very nice place near Zuheros and Baena, capital of olive oil and certainly the best !
Pros: Size of the bathroom and balcony, view on the mountains. Private free parking. The beds were ok. Staff was helpful but couldnt speak English.
Cons: From the pictures I expected some more luxury. The swimming pool wasn’t clean. The air-conditioning didn’t work great. There was nothing to do in the village.
Pros: Great location close to bike riding on Via Verde and rental of bikes at tourist bike rental agency across the highway. Hot showers and clean
Pros: This was an excellent place to stay and so convenient for the via verde cycling route. The hotel provided secure storage for my bike overnight too.

This traditional guest house is located 10 minutes’ drive from the centre of Luque. It offers comfortable, air-conditioned rooms, in some cases with a balcony or patio, an hour's drive from Córdoba. Rooms at Hostal Nicol's feature traditional, functional decor and all include central heating, a TV and a private bathroom. Superior rooms also feature a kitchenette or a balcony and spa bath. There are various bars and restaurants within a few minutes’ drive of the property and the surrounding area is popular for hiking and cycling, with the Via Verde de la Subbética Route located nearby. The guest house offers free parking nearby and is 60 km from Jaen and 95 km from Granada. You can drive to central Malaga in 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Pros: Big and reasonably comfortable beds. The separate restaurant and cafe was excellent - we ate or had drinks there several times during our bike ride out and back along the Via Verde. Really friendly and helpful staff - eg when I went back to collect a charger plug I’d left there. Convenient location for cycling the Via Verde.
Cons: Very noisy room (even though it was a Superior one) with windows opening straight onto a busy main road - lots of traffic till late and from early morning. The bathroom smelled even with the windows left open - presumably a major drain problem.
Pros: Right next to the via verde
Cons: The long walk from Luque. The difficulty in finding staff to help with queries because they were all so busy serving coach loads of tourists in their shop. The busy main road you had to cross to get to the reception/bar/restaurant.
Pros: There was a bath for tired legs!
Pros: My wife is walking a Camino. She arrived at this small property not expecting much. The room was large, very, clean, and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. She said that it was superior in previous night's far more expensive accommodations .
Pros: Clean & simple! Close to bike path. Restaurant (across the road) served simple tasty food too!
Cons: Quite isolated but I had a car so no problem.
Pros: Everything was great except too close to the highway so noisy
Cons: The room smelled badly of smoke.
Pros: The location of the hotel is perfect, if you think of biking in the area (la via verde del aceite) or visiting nearby charming towns. Our room was surprisingly big and comfortable, with small balcony. Since we were the only guests, it was very quiet. It was also clean. There is a small but nice playground, and a lot of space to run (after you cross the road). The breakfast was very good, with fresh orange juice and "tomate triturado", and the service in the morning was OK.
Cons: There was no soap in the bathroom, only douchgel and shampoo. Since the hostal is just by the main road, it is a bit noisy during the day. The service in the evening was terrible. They made us wait ages (around 1 hour) before they came to us. This situation happened twice.
Pros: It was great that they offered parking for our bikes. They were eager to help us too when we needed assistance with a taxi. The food was great at the station.
Pros: The proximity to the Via Verde, the nearby villages were spectacular and the people that we met were very friendly.
Cons: The restaurant could have been better. The food was poor but cheap, so can't really complain. Just upping their standards, even a little, would pay dividends.
Pros: Right on the via verde.
Cons: The atmosphere. Kind a truckersmotel.

Pros: A warm friendly receptionist and a lovely location. It needs more facilities in room such as kettle and perhaps small kitchen for pilgrims
Cons: I found it difficult to sleep. In a room below people were talking loudly until 4 in the morning and coming and going from the building throughout the night. Also there was a strong smell of cigarettes. In my room there was a large damp patch on the wall with flaking paintwork For the 40 Euro price this was not value for money
Pros: Really nothing
Cons: It was verry cold, the heater was not working, no extra blanket. The bathroom floor was all over with dead flys and dust. The towels were fissured. No towel for the bathroom floor. Nobody spoke English. Not one word. So the son of the owners had to came and translate by google translator. It was awful. And the check in took about an hour. For what we got, it was completely overpriced. Never ever again!!!
Pros: Convenient and clean
Cons: Wifi didn't work on o e side of hotel n not much attempt to fix
Pros: Room and hostal facilities were fine.
Cons: The hot water for the shower was only like warm.
Cons: Payment Hotel: Alberque Ruta Del Califato ----- Hi. We had booked 5 nights but left after just 1. We have paid for 2 nights just to leave. The police led us to the hotel and said we weren't safe. Hotel locked. We got in eventually and no towels. Hotel door could not be opened from outside so after a walk in morning we returned at 7.30am and couldn't get in. Breakfast consisted of 1 cup of black tea or coffee and 1 piece of toast. Later at 10am we were locked out again on the balcony. Awful experience. Please do not charge any more to my credit card as already not happy paying for 2 nights.
Pros: The hotel was decent. Although the hotel owners were trying to be helpful, the communication for us was a bit difficult, since they spoke only Spanish. The room was clean and we liked the location.
Cons: In the room we could hear everything that happens in the common area, so it was really loud in the morning. Also, our room was facing the street side, so we did not had that beautiful view to enjoy.
Pros: It was clean and bright and we had everything we needed. Nice to have breakfast included as there weren't too many bars nearby.
Cons: Very poor check in experience.
Pros: Superb views and wonderful location, literally on top of the hill, just below the town's castle. Basic furnishings but practical and clean.
Cons: No hot water for the showers and no wi-fi. Most probably because we were accommodated in the adjacent building but still no excuse because the albergue boasts these "perks" throughout. Despite included in the price, we had to give breakfast a miss as the breakfast room was locked at 8am when we have been told that they can start.
