Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean. TV and Internet worked well. The included breakfast was good. Taxis were usually readily available, except for a couple of occasions which took 30 - 40 minutes. The Manduto Cafe restaurant at the Pinewood's Golf Club and the Cafe Sabel at the Bencab Museum offered good food at a reasonable price. The hotel arranged for a custom tour of the area, which was quite good.
The hotel restaurant was closed during our stay, and it was fairly far from other restaurants and downtown. A lot of diesel fumes in traffic. Occasionally smelled something like burning leaves or wood outdoors in the morning so were careful to keep windows closed.
It was peaceful there and the room was clean and attended to daily.
The hotel was difficult to find as all the taxi drivers hadn't heard of the place, apparently the name had been changed recently. Our driver stopped at the police station to ask for advice how to find it. The hotel felt a little unprofessional as if everyone was still learning their roles to be honest. I think maybe it was undergoing changes and being refurbished. The breakfast wasn't great, the bacon was very tough and not as it should be and the rice wasn't very fresh. Upon leaving we had no offer to call a taxi for us even though we had heavy suitcases. Not a bad place just a little more attention to detail needed.
No restaurant. No stores or gift shops. No parking for our car. They DO NOT accept credit or debit cards. Breakfast was catered. The nearest restaurant is miles away. The only Restaurant willing to deliver was McDonald's. Old and unsafe facilities
Cold water and don’t have wifi in the room
Big room, hair dryer, accommodations.
Our room was so filled with moisture, it was really difficult to breathe. There was a lot of insects, including moths. Non professional staff. Accept to change the disgusting room, but in a second time ask for a complementary payment. A lot of other problems but just to give one example : They search into the trash bin (it is an unbelievable thing to do)! Because they find cigarette butts inside, they ask a penalty of 2 full night rate for "smoking inside the hotel". We told them we didn't, which is the truth and it was the end of the story... Definitely not a good place to stay and relax.
