Pros: The Lake House was superb. We were greeted with fresh scones upon arrival. The room & view were beautiful (we wanted to take the bed linens home with us). The hosts were incredibly friendly, couldn't do enough for us, and truly exceed in running this b&b. One of the best stays of our nearly 3-week trip.
Cons: Nothing - everything was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hosts. The view from the room was stunning. The breakfast was superb.
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was delicious and so much to choose from with a lot of home cooking and homebaking. The location of the property was stunning. The host Susan is such a lovely lady and couldn't do enough for you.
Cons: This is not a negative and just for your information you would need a car as the property is a bit far from the nearest town. It is in the countryside (not saying this is bad) as opposed to town/village but definitely worth staying here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were greeted by Susan with tea and homemade, delicious scones and also Gordon always made time to have a chat with the guests. He even showed us around his farm which we enjoyed so much as you can feel that Susan and he put their heart and soul into their farm and B&B. We instantly felt very welcome and enjoyed the inspiring chats with them. The breakfast was wonderful with produce from their own farm and from the region - it did not leave anything to be desired. The location by the lake is idyllic and peaceful - especially in the mornings - and the house is beautiful, our room was perfectly sized and cozy. Perfect location to explore Cork. Unfortunately we only stayed 2 nights - we'd come back anytime.
Cons: It was perfect.

Pros: We spent here whole 4-day holiday and the stay exceeded our expectations: 1) Great location, only 10 minute drive from Bantry. Ideal as starting point of hikes - the hiking trail is just around the corner, and the famous Irish western peninsulas are all within reach for a one-day trip. 2) The house is cozy and quiet with a beautiful garden 3) Breakfast was rich and tasty, especially home-made pancakes earned a lot of points from our kids :) And last but not least, the hosts - Tracy and Kevin - were simply wonderful, caring and helpful. And I must thank them again for staying up late because of us on the day of our arrival.
Cons: The room was a bit small for 2 adults and 2 kids, but for us this was not a problem, as we were out whole day hiking anyway... A fridge with soft drinks and beer would be very much appreciated :)

We did have a little street noise, but we also had the window open. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Cooked breakfast or cereal/yogurt/fresh fruit/bread & butter. I don't eat eggs, so Melanie made me delicious Irish pancakes instead. She gave us great tips and maps on where to go for the day and for how to get to Doolin when we left. We got to meet her charming dad Pat, and her two cute children as well. Would recommend.

Pros: Lovely scenic location with very comfortable beds.
Cons: Hostess asked for a cash payment saying her credit card machine was not working. There was no problem with the WiFi. We refused to go and draw out cash from the ATM machine she suggested, so she asked for full details of our visa card so she could put payment through later. She took a photograph of both sides of the credit card. She did put the payment through later but, because our credit card was effectively "compromised," our credit card company have had to issue us with a new card. We would encourage any future customers to ensure credit card payments can be made before booking.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We went on a road trip from Dublin to West Cork Country and we found La Mirage B&B one of the best places to stay at. The place itself is well located, very cozy and charming and the hostess is a lovely lady, quite friendly, helpful and willing to give all kind of tips about the places to visit and where to eat. We also need to say that the breakfast is quite good and it tastes like the countryside - with many of the ingredients coming from the regions around

Breakfasts were so amazing we didn't need to eat until dinner time...fresh fruit salad, homemade preserves and delicious Irish breakfast or smoked salmon with scrambled eggs. Our stay there was fantastic.

Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely with home cooked muffins and scones thrown in. It set us up perfectly for a day’s exploring. They even offered a lift into town so we could have a drink.

Pros: Hotel was very comfortable and exceptionally well run. Hands on approach by management and all staff could not have been more helpful. Food was fantastic and delivered efficiently. Breakfast -a perfect selection of food for all tastes and beautifully presented.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was amazing and so was the room.
Cons: The spa wasn't great
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Location and quality of food in the Falls Restaurant
Cons: 1. Check in was a shambles. One receptionist started processing us, then suddenly got up and left with no apology or explanation; we had to start the whole process some minutes later from scratch with a different receptionist. 2. We had responded before our stay to an e mail from the hotel asking us if we required restaurant reservations at the hotel; we responded, using the link provided, requesting reservations. These were not made and the restaurant staff were rude and condescending over the absence of the bookings. 3. Servicing of the room needed to be requested late in the afternoon on returning from an excursion to find the room had not been attended to despite us having been out for several hours 4. Check out was a disaster. Having advised the front desk on the evening before that we would be checking out early the next morning - 7.15- ( and offering to settle our account that evening), we were told that there was no need to do so since the front desk would be staffed at that time. As it happens, the front desk was deserted at 7.15. After waiting 10 minutes, I used the telephone on the front desk to call Housekeeping - a lady there, in fairness, said she would try to locate someone for us. It took a further 10 minutes for someone to appear. Unfortunately this individual was unable to operate the credit card machine or to provide any form of receipt from the machine. I have no idea how much ( if anything) has actually been charged to my card - although I was asked to sign a blank credit card payment slip ( which I declined to do since it would have constituted writing a blank cheque). All in all a very disappointing stay at Sheen Falls. I do not blame the staff. All of the failings were symptomatic of poor leadership and management at the hotel.

Pros: Fabulous room. Very spacious and clean. The breakfast was to die for. And the staff were extremely friendly. Couldn't fault anything
Cons: The bird chirping outside my window at stupid o clock
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent - we managed to park at the rear of the property. The room and en-suite were spacious and spotlessly clean with plenty of hanging space, iron and ironing board as well as a tea/coffee tray (on request) Breakfast was one of the best we have ever had and the staff were wonderfully welcoming and friendly We ate dinner here too which was also very tasty. Would definitely stay again if in Kenmare Thank you
Cons: The hairdryer is attached to the bathroom wall so if you like to blow dry your hair pop a dryer in your case . Not a massive issue if you are prepared There wasn’t anywhere to sit if not in your room as the bar downstairs was so lively and popular it was full - but there are lots of bars immediately outside the door so we were able to go out instead
