Handy to city centre, excellent restaurant no room service
Large rooms with comfortable beds , nice bar , deli that served great fresh food and a good sized supermarket within the hotel . Great for stocking up on beers before you go out as its 4 -5 Euros a pint in the City for Guiness and more for Lager . Overall tho a cheap place to stay near Dublin . Hotel is on the large side so its a bit of walk to your room once out of the lift , a fridge in the room would have been good ( we used the bath to keep the beers cold ) , internet is overpriced at 1 Euro for only 8 minutes much cheaper in city for internet . The distance to the city seems more than a mile when you walk it everyday but theres plenty of buses for 1.60 Euro or a taxi is 8-10 Euros . Caught the aircoach from the hotel to the airport for 8 Euros .
very close to city centre, and very reasonable prices the food was terrible
Brreakfast was very nice. Information in the guide provided was very helpful as to orientation. Centre of town location allowed us to walk to all of Kilkenny's attractions, shopping and eating district Grounds room and location were excellent. I can't think of any.
Great location; Large clean rooms; friendly, helpful staff; Good value for money. Very slow albeit friendly service in "The Dubliner Bar"
Hotel staff are extremely helpful. For us the location of the hotel is most pleasing as it is near the city centre for shopping, theatre and such facilities and amenities I do not like the additional charges for example €10.50 per night car parking, charges for internet , this in my view distorts the real charge
I stayed here with my wife and daughter the night before the Ireland / Argentina rugby international. We booked last minute and got a family room and they looked after us for a baby sitter. The place was busy and had a nice buzz to it. There was always a taxi outside and good on site parking. Breakfast was potentially chaos the next morning but the staff did a great job getting everyone through. Great value for money. Bar was busy but well staffed. It isn't the prettiest of hotels but given the location and value for money, I am not complaining.
Room was plenty big for family of 4, convenient to bus stop, DART station and air coach pick up, Michael the manager was helpful and friendly. Elevators were broken, windows didn't open all the way, the facility was worn and needed paint and repairs, front desk staff was unfriendly at times, didn't leave enough towels for 3 people even though it was booked as a triple.
very good value for money 99. euro. in dublin for 99 euro i missed the extra comforts in rooms but what diid i expect for rate...
The staff were friendly and the room was spacious and comfortable. I stayed in the towers and felt that some parts of the room were a little run-down (the shower curtain for example). It was also a little errir walking from the lobby to the tower rooms. So many parts of the hotel are un-used and unlit.
Overall a pleasant stay. The hotel itself was very comfortable and clean. The resturant was excellent and the long cold drinks even better. Amongst the reviews for the hotel it was sai that there were no tea and coffee facilities in the rooms, this was not the case. We had a problem with the booking when we arrived, we had asked for a smoking room but none were available. The first room we stayed in had a problem with the room alarm which was set off by steam from the shower. We were moved to a different room (smoking) but unfortunately had the same problem. But all in all these were minor blips, we were pleased with the overall quality of the hotel.
In every respect all you could possibly want in accomodation for a Dublin holiday plus good location and access to public transport (Dart) Directions on booking confirmation only covered travel from the airport (by bus). Directions for car drivers would have been helpful. Also mentioning Ballsbridge in the address rather than just d4 may have helped pinpoint the location on a map.
House was warm staff helpful and breakfast was very good No
The hotel is in a great location especially if you are going to the Aviva Stadium, it's within walking distance. Beautiful hotel, staff were very friendly. Breakfast was outstanding!!
Excellent service, very polite staff and very good breakfast.
The staff—Ceclia, Owen, Tracy, Luisz and others—were friendly and always helpful. The breakfast offerings were wonderful, served with friendly grace and style by Dalva, Lidija, and Allesandra. I’ll be honest: we attended a wedding at the Mount Juliet near Thomastown, and the food was better at Ariel House. Our room was comfortable and quiet. Located in the quiet suburb of Ballsbridge, Ariel House is convenient to the DART and the Aviva Stadium, and there are some nice restaurants nearby, notably the Old Spot and the Lobster Pot. (At the latter, Michael Garlant will serve you with old-world elegance and 21st Century friendliness and wit.) Wish we could have stayed longer, but we’ll be back.
Excellent value, good location, friendly helpful staff. Delicious breakfast. Spacious comfortable room. Got parking space but if hotel was full that might be a problem
All staff extremely helpful and attentive. Gave useful information about visiting Dublin and easiest way to get into the centre from the hotel. Delicious breakfast. Very spacious rooms. None
Staff v pleasant food v good No 2nd cup in room or flannels - no safe and the staff were under the impression that each room had one !
the staff were very welcoming and nice. the room was very comfortable and warm, the bathroom was up to date and very clean. the breakfast was cooked to order, and was very good.
We would be hard pressed to find fault with the Ariel House Hotel. Its proximity to the rds (Rod Stewart concert) was our reason for choosing to stay here, and it didn't disappoint. The full Irish breakfast was unusual (as regards the new potatoes), but it was a delicious meal to start the day with. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful if they had tried. I have already recommended the Ariel House Hotel to one other person and I shall most definitely be staying there again and shall put a link to the hotel on my own website at www.sligotown.net
Large room, good breakfast
Nothing When we arrived our twin room was not available......broken lock, moved to a double room. No tea making facilities, had to request these three times before a kettle, coffee, and cups arrived. No writing material, no local directory, no room service menu did have 'dog eared' print outs from a web site lying on a table. One bath towel and hand towel, one shampoo and one shower gel.Breakfast was bad
had to pay at the bar, for food and in the hotel as not the company
how quiet and calm the hotel was
Could'nt find it when searching.
Great staff No bad points for the hotel
Everything, the hotel is very cosy, all the staff is very nice and friendly, the breakfast is fantastic, they have this home made bread which is delicious, I did like every single thing in that hotel. I would prefer a bigger room, the rooms are small, but good enough for a short stay.
Murray mints and the atmosphere and attention of staff. The room had a design feature where the back of the bed had a yellow canopy behind it but this actually covered a window which at six in the morning became a bright lamp into the room.
Friendliness on staff and the room was fab!
The whole ambience of the hotel. The wonderfully friendly staff and in particular Cecilia.
Staff are very friendly and very helpful. Hotel is very nice. We will stay again.
Fantastic place to stay at. made feel very welcome by friendly and very helpful staff. will return again !
It is a clean, comfortable and nicely decorated (small) hotel with a very friendly and obliging staff. In addition, although not in the city centre, it is in attractive surroundings and is only 15 or so minutes walk away from the main attractions. The main bus routes are close by and the nearest DART station was two minutes away, giving fast access to the centre and to stations to the south.
Friendly helpful staff great location.Hotel with real character. We arrived early about two and a half hours before check in time which was no problem they gave us coffee while we waited for our room.
Friendliness&helpfulness of staff
This is a wonderful townhouse to stay in for a couple or nights in Dublin. We stayed as we were at a concert nearby and it was ideal. The staff are welcoming from the time you arrive. We were offered complimentary tea/coffee in the drawing room on check in which is a lovely touch. It is in quiet location and you can be relieved that you will not be disturbed by noisy stag/hen parties as in many city hotels! The breakfast is freshly cooked with fresh baking also and the best we have had of many places.I We would highly recommend Butler's.Book it!
Very conveniently situated hotel with helpful staff. It was a winter wonderland when the snow fell. Excellent breakfasts. Having to pay to keep the car in the carpark.
I liked the comfortable bed. I dint like that there was no iron in the room, and also parking wasn't great.
Very comfortable and relaxing
Liked the location, accessibility to the city, both walking and taxis, buses etc. Important that noise level of traffic lowered at night.
Excellent location and very helpful staff left us definately considering staying there again. Good Experience.
It is an excellent location , clean and friendly, Parking could be an issue to look at as we found it frustrating to get a space, and no manpower on the ground. The parking issue
We loved the brightness and the cleanliness of the whole Hotel. Just one fault and that was the pillows - we both found them very uncomfortable - we like to sink into something soft. I understand some like hard pillows. All in all the Hotel was a very pleasant place to stay in and we will be back pg.
Hotel is nice, staff is also. Hotel is next to park, ideal for morning running.
We were allowed to check in at 9am as a room was free (first come first served basis). We were upgraded to executive. The staff were very helpful. Being overlooking the park was lovely. Very convenient for RDS. Complimentary bottle of water bedside. Bed very comfortable and big. Safe in the room. Minibar fridge in room. Availability of ironing board/iron.. Shoe shine equipment available A tray charge of £6.50 for room service. We were near hallway doors which banged every time they were used which was noisy at night. No tea/coffee making facilities
Friendly and professional I'm Irish and we like our tea... the one thing it didn't have in the room was tea/coffee making facilities
What i liked about staying in this hotel was the location not far from the city centre or from Dundrum Yes both myself and my partner were very disappointed with the breakfast the food was bland and it wasnt good value for money. Lack of tea / coffee facilites in the room.
Staff were friendly and gave us a good Irish welcome. Room was good size and clean, and food was great The bar lacked some atmosphere.
This hotel is oozing character and thats what makes it so special. From the cozy fires in the bar to the spectacular ceilings of the dining/breakfast room, it really is a different experience to most hotels these days. The bedroom we chose was a delux one and it was extremely spacious and the bed was just enormous. The breakfast served was top class, plenty of choice and beautifully presented. All in all a wonderful experience and I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. My only negative was that the pillows were a little hard.
Handy location to city centre, easy charm and friendly staff. The rooms are well equiped, furnished well and cosy. The bed was large, but the mattress a bit firm for my liking. The food was rustic and plentiful and good value for money. The restaurant was cold and drafty with a 'musty' smell due to the old timbers. There wasn't much of an atmosphere as only a handful of people dined whilst we were there. The breakfast staff were slow and inefficient - tables were not cleared, food not replenished at the buffet table and you had to ask for everything, milk, spoon, toast etc. And it wasn't that busy!
location to city centre is ideal. Hotel has got charm and very inviting and relaxing.
very helpful staff, most of them local which gave an 'Irish' feel to the place and also lovely breakfasts.
Great location, beautifully adapted old schoolhouse building which has historic interest and architectural merit. Quiet and comfortable room and excellent food. We found the last night very expensive - due to U2 performing locally.
Excellent food, friendly staff, airport bus stopped outside and easy to get to main attractions.
Very professional, friendly, competent and helpful front desk and great wait staff at the restaurant. Fabulous and generous breakfasts and excellent food for every meal. Comfortable room. Excellent wi-fi. Very small point: could have had more drawer storage.
It was very relaxed and comfortable. Different than most hotels small and personal and a really nice place to stay The noise in the pipes when the shower was in use in every room
Not overheated, as so many hotels are. And a very comfortable bed. Nothing.
The staff went out of their way to make our visit outstanding in Dublin. The room was much better than expected. The location was central enough to walk to most downtown areas, but out of the way enough to be quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was full service if desired, and had and interesting selection to keep the long stay traveler interested. The "pub" was staffed with a great group of people who took the time to make you feel welcome and to reccommend some great Irish whiskey selections! I found nothing not to like about this hotel. Even when there were small problems, the staff made sure it did not interfer with our plans or time frames.
The hotel was very convenient for our trip. The rooms were very well presented. I would have liked the price to include breakfast.
Parking was very safe & staff were most helpful & polite.
The staff in reception were very helpful and friendly and the location was in walking distance to the town centre which was good for site seeing. Buses also went right past the door and into the town. The small village nearby had a good range of restaurants and pubs too.
Pembroke is a beautiful hotel, we enjoyed our stay there very much, it is prettily decorated, has knowlegable and helpful staff -well, maybe some more than others-, and is very very clean. We recommend it for sure. Ballsbridge is not so close to the center, keep that in mind if you're on foot, it's like 20 mins or more. However,it's a safe area, so there's no need to be afraid to walk, even late at night.
Having check in at 1am on Monday morning was a bit of a gamble to get a decent room. But I was actually given a superb room with mezzanine living room. Look like a mini suite to me. Very good room indeed. The breakfast was also very good with choice of omelette made upon request with no extra to pay. maybe the noise of the street. I thought windows could be more isolated from the noise.
the staff were very nice. not so much that we didn't like it, but it didn't seem to have the 'extra touches' one would expect of a four star hotel
Staff was great, food was outstanding and the premises just right I liked everything
location - breakfast - secure parking - qulaity of room & furnishings
The room was a little small. The TV was very small and stationed high above ontop of the closet. Ice!-for drinks-must be a rare thing in Ireland.
The staff were most polite & helpful . No
Friendly & helpful staff, comfortable rooms, great breakfasts- a great place to stay!
Nice location The rooms were tiny (more like a bed & breakfast) and didn't look anything like the rooms advertised on their website.
Good location Staff were not friendly. They provided an adequate service but a smile costs nothing !
Location and food were great! Hotel needs updating...beds are uncomfortable and very squeaky, rooms are outdated.
we arrived at the hotel very late on sunday night and were delighted to find that the restaurant was still serving food from their extensive menu and not just snacks
Friendly and welcoming staff......extremly clean hotel very under-rated...excellent food.....very comfortable hotel in an excellent central location
Excellent, friendly staff. Comfortable and clean rooms. Good value for money. Distance from the city centre
pleasant hotel handy for aviva stadium i
Hotel room was clean, tidy and well laid out No
Friendly Staff & pleasant atmosphere
The staff were really amazing - very friendly and helpful. I'm notoriously bad with directions, but they patiently helped me map out routes to the city, but stops, etc. The room was perfect for my needs - just enough room and very clean. Beautiful sunlight filled the room (when it wasn't overcast outside). The room service portions were very generous and the food was excellent. The portions were a bit too large for me, but could have easily been shared between two people. Very convenient location. Quiet residential/business location. Walls seemed paper-thin, but I think that's because of the age of the building. I don't think there's really anything that could be done for that - it wasn't really a bother. Maybe I just didn't walk around enough, but it didn't seem like there was very much to do (for a business tourist, anyway) in the immediate area. The Internet cut out frequently in my room. These are just very minor complaints, though. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend the hotel to anyone who is seeking a comfortable, clean, convenient location for Dublin travel.
Location, location, location! Ideally situated beside the dart, and next door to the Aviva stadium. Easy to drive to, ample car parking, and lovely staff.
Easy access to RDS, rooms nice, great price
Simple room. Much lower price then other hotels in Dublin. A bit far (a lil over a mile) from the city center/things to do, but walkable or quick easy taxi ride.
easy check in, good food facilities, parking, no air conditioning in rooms, no face clothes in bathrooms
Nice rooms, well kitted out. Very noisy at night. Too expensine for its level of service
Rooms are big and well kept It is not so close from the center.
location to Aviva Stadium was excellent
Staff very friendly & helpful when required. Enjoyed our breakfasts. Just one small thing....found the room very warm & with the window open (for fresh air) it could at times be noisy from traffic. Air conditioning would be great.
got to hotel while there was a match on.told there was free parking but all spaces had been taken. had to park on the street ,parking should be reserved for guests after all i had been told there wud be free parking ,that is why i booked the hotel
TV and the CD/MP3 player in the room Very expensive internet connection
Beds were comfortable.Hotel was not located near the City Center. Wifi did not work in our Room. There was no Shuttleto or from Airport - Hotel. There was no Air controls inside our room, our Room was stuffy. Hotel was not near the City Center. V
The receptionist that checked us in was fantastic-very helpful and mannerly. Room was lovely and couldn't fault it. The service at the breakfast was appalling as the food was slopped on the plate with no thought given to presentation-very off putting to have everything piled high on a plate and then beans poured over it! Staff were very unhelpful during the breakfast-with tea/coffee service and cutlery issues.
Staff were very disorganised. They didn't appear to be ready for breakfast - ran out of food. Ordered food the night we stayed and had to wait over an hour for 2 caesar salads so cancelled our order
The hotel is clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great central location. No quiet residents bar to have a nite cap. The only bar was noisy and busy. The view from the bedroom window was of a dirty untidy back yard loaded with bar rubbish.
Excellent staff and accomodations. Bathroom was rusty and moldy.
excellent friendly professional staff, great location, beautiful breakfast
The room was very clean and the sauna a nice touch. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the breakdast excellent. A very comfortable hotel. There was nothing I didn't like. The room could have been a bit bigger but neverthless it was comfortable and well appointed.
staff friendly/helpful-room/hotel comfortable, offered complimentary tea or coffey even though facility was also in the room,a selection of dvd's in the room, free parking, bus outside the door brings one to/from city centre in a short time, very good value.
Great room, spa baths was an added bonus 30 minute walk to town. Buses aren't frequent enough to town.
The hotel was very nice - each room has a sauna and spa tub, as well as gated parking in the back. The Ballsbridge section of Dublin that it is in is lovely - much quieter than center Dublin, but walking distance to pubs, restaurants, tour bus stops and parks. We loved the location and hotel and will definitely stay there again!!
the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.the hotel was kept to a very high standard and the food was excellent.it was in easy walking distance of both the rds arena and the city centre. i do not have anything negative to say about the roxford lodge.
Friendly, accommodating staff. Quiet, safe location for independent traveller. Constantly providing tea with a smile!
nice surroundings and very clean
You get a warm welcome to the Roxford Lodge. Staff where exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean and well presented. Tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer, sauna, spa bath TV & DVD player all in room. Nice to see a hotel that has fresh white linen on the bed. Location is very quite and for those up for walking its only 10 mins away from Grafton Street. Would highly recommend this hotel. Please note I think we where the only guests in the hotel, due to "volcanic ash disruption" other guests had cancelled. Perhaps this was why we got such a warm welcome, but I'm not complaining!!!!
