10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, spacious and sparkling clean room. My family of 4 was very comfortable in the family room. Bathroom is enormous, with lovely towels, soaps, and towel warmer. I had several interactions with the hosts in person, email and by phone, and they were lovely and accommodating. Breakfast was amazing—I just wish I could have tried everything. Portions were huge and selection was vast. Beautiful view of Connemara! Very relaxing place....a needed break after all of our travels. My only regret is that we forgot to sign the guest book.
Cons: I loved everything. Hosts were meticulous to details.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great attention to detail in rooms and food. Ideal location for exploring Connemara. Warm welcome.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Owner was really friendly and made such an effort to make us feel welcome. Also gave us loads of great recommendations.
5.0 Okay
Cons: The hosts were not friendly at all. We were given one slice of toast and one slice of brown bread between us and when we asked for more we got a half a slice. each. This was especially annoying as we had booked a family room and only two of us were eating so there was no need to be mean with our breakfast. We felt very unwelcome in the breakfast room especially when Eithne started sweeping up when we were still eating. Breakfast also finished at 9.30 which was very early and checkout was at 11. Eithne also made sure to remind us of this.

Pros: Margaret is such a lovely & friendly woman, the B&B is very well maintained and very clean. Our room was lovely and quite big, it had tea & coffee making facilities and bed was so comfy! Breakfast was included and you had a few options for hot food as well as continental, there was also fresh scones & bread provided which you could smell baking the evening before mmmm Location was ideal for us as we were attending an event nearby, it is a short drive to Clifden but due to no path for most of the route it is not walkable however Margaret dropped us in to Clifden that evening and provided us with a few local taxi numbers so we could get home later - Number of bars in Clifden have live music so well worth a visit

Pros: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Atlantic View B&B. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by our host Margaret. Our room was spacious, bright, and impeccably clean, with nice amenities, pretty views, and very comfortable beds. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. The location is a great base for visiting area sights like Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey, and the gorgeous Sky Road, and Margaret was happy to provide suggestions for things to do and places to eat. Nearby Clifden (about a 5-minute drive) is a lovely town with restaurants, shops, a great deli, and a nice supermarket. The day of our departure, Margaret and her daughter, Susan, graciously spent time talking with us about options for where to go next as we considered modifying our plans due to the weather forecast. They asked us questions to ascertain our interests, then provided some fabulous suggestions for places and scenic routes we would not have known about otherwise. We highly recommend the Atlantic View B&B and would definitely stay there again.

Pros: I had the most fantastic trip to Connemara, and staying at Buttermilk Lodge was one of the highlights of my trip to Ireland. Cathriona and Patrick were both incredibly hospitable, kind and welcoming, which was especially appreciated since I was travelling alone. The house is immaculate but so cosy too, and as well as an incredible view from my bedroom window, the vista upon leaving the guest house each morning took my breath away too! Special mention must be made of the wonderful breakfast, and Cathriona's utterly delicious homemade breads, and of course their adorable dog. I had a great time in Clifden, which will live long in the memory, and Buttermilk is the perfect location, being just a short walk from the main streets in the town. Thanks for a brilliant stay Cathriona and Patrick, I can't wait to come back!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very good stay, very clean room, very good breakfast and very nice host. Only a few minutes walk to the towncentre, where you can listen to fantastic musicians playing lovely trad music. The only negative with this stay, was a terrible duvet. But it's not the first and only stay with a terrible duvet: It's mostly all over. Back home in Norway, most people use a very light down duvet, and it's heaven compare to this thick and heavy blanket which feels like a ton on the feet.

Pros: The location and the cosy atmosphere
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This property is safely the best ever property we have stayed in, in terms of the location (overlooking the Atlantic) and the way it's done up. It's a treat for an art or history lover since each small detail is worthy of appreciation. The view from our room was out of the world. The sunrise and sunset are the most beautiful. My only regret is we should have booked it atleast for 3 days but when I booked only one day's booking was available. Kilda is such a sweet lady and the breakfast served was excellent. Even though we are vegetarians, there was enough for us to relish on the table. I would love to back to stay in this place for a longer time whenever possible. It was the highlight of our road trip along the Wild Atlantic Way. Absolutely loved it
Cons: Nothing. It was just too perfect.

Pros: The bed was very comfortable and had a lovely view of the garden from our bedroom. Our bedroom was a satisfactory size, bathroom a little small but lounge areas were beautifully decorated, comfortable and spacious. A good breakfast enjoyed, efficient, friendly staff Dinner in restaurant very nice, on the pricey side though however the value of the Aussie dollar does not help! Lovely views from restaurant. A wonderful stay overall!
Cons: Not having some hanging space in bathroom for travellers

Cons: Food good if a bit pricey. Alternative bar food menu more reasonable but only available until 7pm.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent place to stay, friendly, professional, unobtrusive owners. We had a long detailed discussion on our histories and found much common ground, That is unusual for a two night stay. Nothing was too much effort for the hosts. We recommend this to anyone and we will be back.
Cons: About the B&B: nothing The location for me as a walker is not optimal as you have to drive first, but that is really unimportant in the big picture.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at Tullybeggs was a real treat. Right from the moment we arrived, it was clear that Sara and Malcolm would exceed our expectations, make us feel at home, and meet any request. They were a great source of information about Clifden and the surrounding area. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and nicely decorated, with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was cooked to order and very tasty.

Pros: The whole house has a vintage feel to it, although it's only recently been refurbished. The house is excellently furnished to match it's setting. This B&B is located in beautiful rural country with stunning views. The hosts are also lovely and you can get to know them. The breakfast was more than plentiful and overall we were delighted to stay here.
Cons: The house is 7km from Clifden which costs only €10 in a taxi. You can rent a bike in Clifden to tour the coast but I wouldn't recommend walking to town. Fantastic if you're driving.

Pros: I rarely, if ever, write reviews from properties but the Connemara Sands went above and beyond so I had to. We booked the tasting menu dinner for Saturday night and had course after wonderful course. Left the place thoroughly fed and happy. On Sunday morning, the breakfast staff delivered my breakfast out to the bar area, where I got to watch Ireland's first rugby World Cup match. A great stay all round. Thanks to Dean the owner, Martin on reception and all the staff. We'll be back!

Pros: food @ scenery
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptionally friendly and attentive staff in luxurious surroundings. This hotel has lots of old fashioned charm and a really pleasant ambience. The room was a lot more expensive than I would usually pay but after a 10 hour mountain hike I really appreciated the luxury. Best breakfast I've had in a hotel in a long time.
Cons: A free spa with swimming pool would be nice but the beautiful garden and surrounding landscape compensate for this.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Convenient location at the very beginning of absolutely stunning Sky Road and a few mins walk away from Clifden with its charming bars and restaurants
Cons: Lots of people here complained about facilities being dated and I was expecting to find a bit of a shabby chic situation in a beautiful historical environment. However the reality is much more prosaic, it simply is a 1970s-style drab motel rammed into a not that old manor house (the ‘castle’ was actually built in the 19 century however most of the stuff inside looks like it was purchased recently at flea markets). Mind boggles how management failed to invest resources into redesigning the space and inviting some exciting Irish chefs to make its restaurant a stand-alone destination given such a stiff competition from a nearby town.. a shame given its prime location and a sense of promise.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was wonderful the place was first class and the staff was really nice and friendly could not of asked for better

Pros: Wonderful time. The before dinner champagne talk about the area and the history of the hotel was one of the highlights of our trip. It was so informative and enjoyable, plus we met other guests staying at the hotel. Dinner was superb and included a free photo of us... What more could you ask for? Our room was perfect, with an amazing view of Clifdon and the hotel gardens.
